whoolph the third brake light is a requirement. Just like the $&% air pressure sensors in the tires. It’s the law. Now I have a tire pressure sensor that constantly telling me I have a low tire when I know I don’t.
Wasn't picking on ya Brad, just stating what the engineers have done . . . create new things which are cool but they didn't think of the poor mechanic who has to service them (all of us) . . . Rog
bc65925 I believe they call that yankee engineering??? I actually thought about that and I may try that if the repair I did in tomorrow’s video doesn’t work.
Nice work brother. We recently bought my last truck. I was floored at the prices but after looking at used 3/4 ton diesel pickups for a couple three months we decided to by a new 2018 Ram 2500 crew cab 6.7L 2wd. Man what a truck. Now we have all of the towing capacity we need and it gets surprisingly great fuel mileage as well.
My blower motor went bad for the same reason. We are lucky nothing caught on fire. I ended up replacing the blower motor and the receiver (I think that is what it's called). All I have to do is feed the wires in the connectors, crimp them and then use a heat gun to make sure no condensation gets in the connectors. Hopefully it works😉! Yours sounds a little more complicated! I have a 2010 Tacoma.
I really wish you wouldn’t cut out the colorful parts Brad. I worked for many years as an Industrial mechanic and while I have a large colorful vocabulary, I hate missing a chance to possibly expand it! lol Ford isn’t the only company to make repairs hard to do. My Grand Cherokee needs the heater core replaced and unlike the old days where you popped the hood and replaced the core thru the firewall this job is probably a 6-8hr ordeal if you know what you are doing. I’ll be interested in seeing the fix on your F150 because I have a 2008 F150. Phil
"Foul language required to get those screws out" - oh man love that. Hahaa. Looks like those three pins are electrically connected...hmm. Something got hot, really hot to melt that harness assembly. My question is "why" didn't a fuse or relay pop before all that? Hopefully a new wiring harness will fix it. Those parts need to mate up tight. This video reminds my of my old 1989 Ford Escort with a bad MAP sensor...car ran like a sick frog with acute bronchitis and COPD. ie, wheezy, coughing, no power. Swapped it out, never ran better. Electronics can be a PITA.
I know the feeling I came home this week I knew the tire went flat but when I unlocked the passenger door some one broke the Handel that I have replaced and fixed it after it had broke again and it's broke again and now I got to order another one
Have you checked to see if they have a recall on it? My folks had a Blazer that had a severe fire danger with its cruise control & they didn't know it. I had entered the vehicle VIN in the AutoZone website and it showed the recalls for that SUV. Might be able to get it all fixed for free if they have a recall on it.
I red all the comments and thought I'd share this. I bought a 2012 Colorado for a tow truck, the motor used oil so I dropped the oil out and used running in oil for 1500 ks, fixed it. Bought a 2015 Colorado that burnt 1 ltr of oil every 800 ks and the motor was going to die, so traded it on a 2018 Grand Cherokee. Did 8000 ks in the new car and blew the motor. They took 2 months to fix it. For f#*€k's sake what is it with these modern cars.
I’m certain that with space shuttle/mars rover technology, they could build a car that would last much longer than they do. I’m pretty sure they purposely build obsolescence into them so they have a steady stream of consumers. Pissed off,,, but still consuming.
Clear design flaw on the Fan Resistor connector. Melting plastic is not a good sign..ever. Ford should step up with a new harness and resistor replacement. I might suggest some Di-lectric grease in the connector when you replace it. Can't hurt and might keep the connection tight to avoid heating up.
Seems like they WANT these things to wear out after 3 years so that you buy a new truck. After 3 years you will keep the Service Dept thriving, unless you're a mechanic and a do-it-yourselfer.
When I was told how much they would charge me (850) to replace a 30 buck part, I decided to take the dash apart and replace the blend door actuator myself.
@@bctruck They charge RIDICULOUSLY high service charges, but most of us can't do it ourselves, so we hafta pay. New cars are so complicated it's impossible for non-mechanics to diagnose the problems.
Next time that happens cut the white plastic and direct wire it by cutting the plug off of the wire harness solder it straight to the connectors.... Or buy a Ram..... Lol

Wow!! Thanks very much!!
Wonder that since that plug is inside the cab about just cutting away the plastic and soldering on the wires.

Solder may not handle the heat, but using box connectors would.

Hard Truth I’m loving the look of the new rams. They also have the truck bed built in tool boxes that I like.

You can repin that plug really easy. Steven Cox just did a video on it a couple of weeks ago. I'll post the link in another post. I gotta go find it.
I’ve already replaced the wiring harness. Thanks!
I just chalked around mine. Maybe your idea is better 🤣 that truck has a Long way to go. Mine is going strong with twice the miles
Just Plain Common Sense ghetto repair??? Next thing you’ll be driving around with a hefty bag window!
BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose I’ll fix it, someday
Thanks for the information,
I have an 02, 3rd blower speed don’t work

@@bctruck Yup that's what I said today
My first car (in 1976) was a 4 door '57 Chevy......Back when it was fun to work on a car.
That was back when you didn’t have to have expensive diagnostic machines and special tools. I miss the days when I enjoyed working on my vehicle.
Another great info video.
Looks like they would have a recall since it could be a fire hazard, my opinion only and it doesn't count.
I know I’m getting tired of fixing it.

I’m going to use bacon grease!
Well if it heats up your truck cab will have a wonderful smoke meat smell! Works for me!!
fords can be a pain.. the wipers on my truck work when they want to. replaced the motor and the switch on the column… and still.. when they want to
deenaj44 yeah but it’s only a problem when it rains!😂😂
lol true
The bank thinks your cheating them, they want to know why you haven't given up and bought a new truck.
Cut the plug off and solder the wires to the new resistor.
Tomorrow’s video will show the repair. If it fails again, that’s what I’ll do.
This is the video I was talking about Brad.

Ram has this major recall going on right now. Seems there’s a major flaw between the steering wheel and the gas peddle!😂😂😂
@@bctruck gonna have to bring mine in because I definitely have that problem... LOL
