I use Google photos, gmail, calendar, meet, docs, drive, home, youtube, youtube music, and gboard on my iphone. I do not use any Apple services on my Android.
Brand new to your channel and I couldn’t agree more about the calendar. Ios18 finally gives you month view, but it’s been too long and I’m too integrated with Google calendar. Also, the Google calendar widgets are far more useful. I do struggle with keep and notes and tasks and reminders. I find myself using both and I REALLY want to get away from Google or Apple in that but I just keep running into scenarios where I use one or the other and by the end of the day I’ve used both.
I am in exactly the same position. Siri could be getting a massive rehaul with iOS 18.. so that’ll be interesting to see.. and perhaps I will switch to it then. Anyways, great vid as always man!
I have been considering a mixed tech ecosystem that's a hybrid between Apple and Windows/Android. I was considering starting off with the Mac Mini + iPad Air for the iPad-Mac integration with sidecar, AirDrop, and universal control, which of those features I would find incredibly useful. I would then pair both Apple devices with a Surface Pro and Samsung Galaxy from the Android/Windows side of things. Any thoughts on this pairing?
If you are going to have a Mac mini already - I would have to ask what the point of the Surface Pro would be? There aren’t a lot of integrations between Samsung and Windows that would make it worth it for me to go that route, especially while already having a MacOS and ipadOS device. Might as well just add in the iPhone to complete the lineup instead of buying 2 other devices that don’t pair well with anything. But if you do decide to go that route then let me know how it goes! I do love the Surface for having a touch screen on a full Windows operating system. I do miss mine a lot.
@@JohnHelmuth_ Thanks man, for sure. I am currently a Mac user, but also use Android and have been looking into a switch to an Apple ecosystem as a college student, as I find the integration features between Apple devices intriguingly cool. I've been mostly on the fence about wanting to try out Apple and give the full ecosystem a go, but on the other hand a little hesitant mostly due to the higher pricing and people talking about the "walled garden" and ecosystem lock-in. But, I am willing to keep an open mind and actually try it out to see how the Apple route goes. However, I am glad that you are enjoying Apple and it has helped your productivity and workflow, it seems like.
I did, but that doesn’t show the events in the month view, you still have to select the individual day and it just shows you the events for the particular day. It gets closer but I like seeing how busy my month is at a glance.
I'm getting an iPhone (longtime android user of more than 10 years). I'm a bit worried about all my photos. I'm in a similar boat to what you mentioned about photos. Do you have any advice or resources I can see for making sure my iPhone photos sync to google photos each time I take a pic (so my 'workflow' for pic taking isn't disrupted or changed)?
@@IkeWaghSF I would just make sure you have it set up to sync. Honestly I’ve never had to think about it. I just take a picture like normal, and then that photo shows up in both the Apple Photos and Google Photos app. For Google photos it may take 30 seconds or so to show up due to syncing but that’s not a big deal in my opinion.
@@JohnHelmuth_ Cool thanks for the reply (and nice videos btw!). For me, Gmail/Google Photos/Keep are my go-to. I'm ready to give in to all the other Apple stuff and see how it goes :)
You wil regret it. Used the 16pm since release. Coming from a s23 ultra. And damn did i hate it, stupid software. Not being able to rotate the screen while in locked rotation. Not able to change the typing volume etc without muting the complete phone. Its just stupid. Why are the basic functions non existent on ios. Yes the battery was good, but not that much diffrent and the camera great also. But again not much better. And then the promotion on 16pm felt like it was running at 90hz instead of 120. It felt alot slower, not even close to the snappy s23u. Never again.
@@ronthehybrid Ya I also subscribe to TH-cam Premium so have access to TH-cam Music, but I’ve found Apple Music quite a bit better at mixing up playlists rather than just playing the same songs over and over again.
What Google services do you still use on your iPhone? Or what Apple services do you use on your Android?

I’m a full on Apple user but I agree, calendar app sucks
I just don’t understand the thought process behind it. Rarely is less information better, and they just decided to give the least amount possible.

It’s still garbage lol

Do yourself a favor and stick to one ecosystem. Facts!!!
a wise man use the best apps that suitable for him no matter what
Did you tap on the little “hamburger” (List View) at the top of Apple calendar?
