The umbrella for the phone is handy for food delivery drivers that use motorcycles/bicycles (uber, food panda etc) if its raining and the phone is in the phone holder, it would help to keep it dry.
The phone umbrella is used a lot by delivery drivers here in Vietnam. The phone is attached to the bars of the scooter, and the brolly keeps it dry whilst they drive. I think this is probably it's intended use.
