watching your video got me much more confused now i was about to switch to a new phone and was considering to get a iphone 14 but now i m confused which one shud i go to really hate android phone for their poor virtualization someone please help me !!!
The back function issue is something I noticed years ago on iPhones. Whenever my friends hand me over their iPhones I sometimes need to ask them "how do I make it go back?"
You are the only youtuber that talks about the real differences and useful features that people use, unlike other reviewers that keep talking about "ecosystem" and some generic stuff that everybody already knows. Big kudos to you.
Yep, he points out some of the things that really matter. Android has been like this for a long time. I was going to switch but I knew I'd miss Android too much.
You are right! A lot of youtubers talking about the color of the iPhone or the dynamic island, but zero about this important things. Well, I'm sure they know why.
would not say it matters that much, some of these stuff do. But that you need to press an extra time to select messages is pretty silly and does not matter
Got an iPhone as a company phone. You put together a great list, the most annoying is the - lack of a proper back button, - the typing experience, the basic keyboard is abhorrent, and once I installed the "same" SwiftKey as I use on Android, and the iOS version is clearly inferior. - the notification system is a lot more refined in Android - quick settings for wifi, BT, NFC and all these are a lot better on Android ..and the list could go on, but these are the worst. So thank you for saving me from having to buy my own iPhone, now I can hate it without wasting my money.
I recently purchased an iPhone 14 after being an Samsung user for years. I wanted to test how *productive* I can be. I used it for an intense two-week long work event and returned to Samsung 22 Plus. I 101% agree with this video. I have the exact same complaints: typing experience, convenience on WhatsApp, screenshots, the fingerprint, and much more. Literally the same complaints. As you say, iPhones are beautiful and they're amazing, but I would say that they are not good devices for *productivity*. I can name a few other examples based on my experience with different apps/uses. Maybe you need a Part 2 for this video! - Outlook: Emails take time to load/update. You cannot attach several documents at the same time to an email. Calendar widget isn't really useful (you can have a widget that shows your agenda for several days on Android, whereas the widget on iPhone is just today). - OneDrive: On Android, if you select a picture o document and share to OneDrive, you can create a folder while doing it. On iPhone you cannot. It also takes longer than Android. - Typing: I would add that it is a bit frustrating having to long-press the space bar to put the cursor in the middle of a word that you want to correct. On Android, one simple tap on the exact spot in the middle of the word does the trick. Google Keyboard predictor is pretty accurate, so you will most likely end up tapping on the correct word. On iPhone, the new word will be -added-, not -replaced-. WHY! - Camera: On Samsung, the camera app recognizes that you have a document and it activates a "T" option to scan it and save it. On iPhone, for some annoying reason, this option is under Files. I discovered it by accident... Not so intuitive, in my opinion. - Battery: I have heard that iPhones last longer, but that's not my experience. I have never had to rush for juice while using my Samsung, no matter how much I use it. - Music and Video: I didn't know that you cannot easily play music files (unless you buy music). On Samsung, if you have mp3 and mp4 files, you can just play them in its native Music and Video apps. They are very convenient. On Video, you can adjust the volume and bright on the screen side, rewind and fast-forward with a swipe, and play on a window. This didn't seem possible on iPhone. - Calculator: Samsung's calculator is AMAZING. It's just not a basic calculator, but also compares measurements for temperature, height, weight, mass, area, etc. It's super useful for international environments. No need to Google anymore. - Alarm: On iPhone, you only have two options: Ringer and Silent (and you have to go to Settings to change Silent to vibrate or not vibrate). I really struggled with the fact that the Ringer volume is the same as the Alarm volume. I don't want my call ringtone to be as loud as my alarms'. On Android, you have different volume settings for notifications, calls, system and alarm. - Other settings: I travel a lot and I noticed that Location services stay on on iPhone when activating Airplane Mode. I don't know if drains the battery, but you have to go to Settings to deactivate it. On Android that's just a swipe on the Notification Panel at the top, and a couple of taps. - Animations: On iPhone, animations are beautifuuuuuul, but they're very slow. You can do things much faster on a regular Samsung phone. - Screen: This is entirely personal, but a Samsung screen is significantly brighter and more vibrant than an iPhone's. It's a joy to watch videos and play games occasionally on a Samsung phone. I can go on, but I'll stop, haha! I guess if you are an iPhone user, you most likely have been using Apple for a long time and you are just familiar with it. But Android gives people so many possibilities to be more productive and efficient.
Wow u should have done a video, u explained everything so diligently and expediently. Thanks for taking the time to explain some of these things. I'm always arguing with iPhone users why I prefer Samsung bec they always tell me I need to switch. Now I have some more keypoints to add to my argument.
Couldn't agree more with this video. I had an iPhone from 2009 - 2018, before jumping to Samsung. Picked up an iPhone 14, really tried my best to love it because it's a fantastic device, but once you've become accustomed to Android, everything on iOS feels like an extra couple steps or there isn't any support for it. Returned my iPhone 14 within the return window and went back to my Samsung S20 Ultra. Think I'll wait for the S23 before upgrading now
Android to IOS?? It's like moving to a foreign country. Eventually you get used to it, but it will never be the same and you'll always long for "home".
The back button is absolutely essential especially while operating with a single hand. In fact I'm so accustomed to it that I do not use gestures on my Android device and still prefer the bottom navigation tray.
@@xartius I doubt they will add a back button, since it's so difficult to make consistent for exiting, changing tabs, scrolling to top, refreshing feeds etc.. On Android the back button is probably the most unconsistent UI feature. I think of it like a little scroll wheel for typing. Sure it's lots simpler, especially for one handed use to have one little wheel to browse through the letters, whereas on iOS there's so many different ways to get back, like a keyboard with many buttons. But once you get used to keyboard, it's difficult to get back to typing with a universal scroll wheel. On Android, the back button -exits the app like Play store -refreshes the feed like tiktok. -goes to the top of the feed like ig. -closes the app but only when done twice like Sync. -goes to previous page/tab like in ig, but exists in other apps like jodel. -goes to the top of the feed in one page, but changes to main page from another page like in ig -first scrolls to top then exists, like reddit, and this function is in every tab -on one tab it scrolls, on other tab it changes tab, like on ig -on some apps it either exists or don't depending if you opened the app from a notification or icon, like reddit -depending on app, it either goes to previous app, or goes back on the same app -Then in apps like tiktok, the back gesture changes to main page and refreshes the feed at the same time, so one must be careful to not press it to not accidentally refersh the feed. On iOS, there's one consistent function for all of those different types of "back" functions instead of one button for all. For example, to get to the top of the page on any app, you press the task bar. To get to the app you came from, you press the back to last app link on top corner. To refresh feed, you drag it, to close app, you swipe it away from bottom, to change tabs, you press the tabs. And gestures are added more usually with according animations. For example, since the spotify player appears from the bottom, it makes sense that you can swipe it away to swiping it back to bottom, and you indeed can, on iOS. On Android you can't. Or when opening a photo, you should be able to swipe it away, no matter if you're on Photos app, Instagram or Pinterest. And that's how it works on iOS, though not on Android.
@@eclipticpath you're an iphone user period and you will never agree that back button is a big deal because you're used to not having it. Bruh you can also tap on the task bar on Android Iphone back button just sucks. Think about using your phone with one hand.
@@JustPious I'm android user lol. I have gotten used to the back button, learning all the different app per app behaviours. That's how I'm able to tell all the inconsistencies. Never had a problem using iPhone with one hand. There's reachability in case one has short fingers.
These are the functionalities that it's NOT being mentioned in the reviews. Every review only mentions about game, camera & video, display. But the multitasking feature, I think is the best feature that most Android phones have. All they talk about is how premium and top of the line the iphones are. Thanks for this this excellent review.
FINALLY someone made a video about these things!!!! Thank you! Three more annoying things - (1) File Management and contextual implementation is an absolute nightmare. You don't see a storage view like you do in Android, so managing and finding specific items very easily is a time consuming hassle, especially when you want to edit files on the go. (2) App settings cannot be accessed simply through app icons. You have to go in settings, then scroll down to apps and then change the settings. An unnecessary 3 step process which could have been 1 step. (3) Wifi Bluetooth toggles don't turn the service on or off, they simply turn the connection on or off. The service still keeps running and eating battery. In android, tapping on the toggle means the service will be off. The only positive with iOS right now is app compatibility. Most developers can take advantage of standard iOS libraries to develop robust apps since they have to design for fewer models. On Android, developers have to be generic with app designs most times, because there are thousands of models with different screen ratios and spectrum of OSs to choose from and hence the bugs. As frustrating as it can be to experience app crashes and bugs on Android, it's nowhere near experiencing the level of counter-intuitive user experiences on iOS.
I made the mistake of buying an iPhone for the first time last year. (Been using this phone for 9 months now.) I bought the iPhone 14 promax and boy oh boy did I regret it almost instantaneously. I tried to return the phone, but I just missed the 14 day return window. 😭😭 There are so many” little” things that end up making using this phone a horrible experience. Here’s examples in no particular order. One super annoying feature is the fact that you’re ring volume, notification volume and alarm volume are all linked in one!! So if I don’t want my alarm to blast in the morning, I have to turn my ringer down. But if I forget to turn my ringer up, I might miss calls and vice versa. I also noticed that when you put the phone on silent mode, all of your games are suddenly muted, and you don’t hear the music that goes to the games. Another horrible feature is that when you’re on a call and you’re getting a bunch of text messages in the background, it dings audibly every time a message comes in. I was in a group chat and trying to talk to someone on the phone and it was a nightmare!! An android will simply buzz in the background. Also, as I’m trying to write this comment with the voice feature using the iPhone., per usual, the phone types a bunch of nonsense, and is not nearly as accurate as an android. Something about the software used for voice to text just does not understand context at all!!! Trying to convert music into a ringtone, takes about 13 steps, using GarageBand vs on an android, if you use zedge, you simply select download or “set as notification/ringtone”. That’s it! ONE TOUCH. Another super annoying feature is that most of the time when you highlight a word, and want to select all of the content, there is not a feature to “select all”. On an android this feature pops up every time. You also cannot set multiple timers to my knowledge which I need a lot, especially when I’m cooking multiple things at once. You have to download an app for that and most of the time when you download an app from the App Store you have to pay a bunch of money!! You also can’t “dismiss” alarms. Dismissing an alarm silences the alarm without turning off the alarm for the next time it’s set to be used . You can turn your alarm OFF but if you forget to turn it back on then you’re up S#!+$ creek. I’ve also noticed that the Apple store doesn’t offer certain apps, such as RT news or even US based conservative news. So it seems they want to be political and simply do not offer the option for users to get their news from whatever source they choose. The phone does not come with a charger so you will have to buy one even though you have already spent $12-$1400 on the phone. And there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack. There is ZERO deep customization on an iPhone as it pertains to anything including how you want to set up your apps on your homepage. Everything must fall into rows, so if you’d like to have your apps, laid out a certain way with maybe a few apps in the top left corner you can’t do that. If you have an Apple Watch, you can use it with an android but if you have an android watch, you cannot use it with an iPhone. They make sure that pretty much nothing is compatible with anything except for other Apple products. Of course Apple has a great ecosystem because you CAN’T use anything else!! The list goes ON AND ON. EVERYTHING you do on an iPhone takes extra steps. I spent $1400 outright on my 256 GB 14 promax and I regret it everyday. I will NEVER buy another iPhone. I know this is a lot, but if I can save someone from buying a really expensive POS than writing This comment is worth it. If you are an android user, please don’t buy an iPhone or you will seriously regret it.
I think in the USA the main advantage of iPhone is iMessage (the standard texting/messaging app over here whether we like it or not), FaceTime, and AirDrop. Because the majority of people here have iPhones, these features really become pretty useful. However, in a vacuum, the device by itself, I think Android is still superior, especially for power users that want an extra layer of customization. For instance, I work in SaaS engineering/DevOps, and work in MS Teams quite a bit. I have a different notification sound for each Teams channel. I have probably 30-40+ channels I actively work in, yet some require greater urgency than others. Knowing which channel/chat is updated simply by hearing a specific sound is simply a quality of life feature that I can't give up.
Exactly. Having just moved to the US, I feel bullied into having the iPhone and it's a very uncomfortable feeling. I have the 14 Pro Max and S23 Ultra (testing it before I decide which to keep.) I love the S23 Ultra so much, but everyone is already complaining about no iMessage and I was removed from a lot of group chats.
This is actually a fantastic review, the best one I've seen out of hundreds online. You actually brought up that the keyboard can be remedied in 1 minute with GBoard, which I hate and is a pure disservice when people don't do, but then brought up you actually still don't find that quick remedy as sufficient. THAT is actual, real, good content. For someone in Europe, can you cover how various translation services work between the two? Is it also just a matter of installing Google Translate app on iPhone, and using photo translations ala Google Lens in Apple's camera service?
So glad I watched this, after 12 years of android I was going to get the 14 Pro. But seems like they have a lot to improve in terms of basic functionality
One thing they need to improve is listening to customers. Which is something Apple haven't ever done since I was working on Apple Macintosh in the 80s. They don't care. Which is also why they've been refusing to fix simple phone problems and suggesting people just buy a new phone.
Except the Back button, nothing else he mentioned is "basic functionality". It's mature functionality instead, that comes after 10 years of developing the OS. Basic functionality is what we had in 2012.
@@EugeniaLoli Honestly, every basic android is having this functions nowadays so it is a basic functionality. My old Samsung J2016, a very basic low end phone, had similar functionality like a current iPhone. But it had not that back button issue, so was even better in that matter than an iPhone. Glad I stayed with the s23+ and haven't switch to iPhone 14. What an downgrade that would be!
@@LordVader5738 are you just gonna ignore how long they had 60hz displays? And with all the Android phones out there how can you say iphones have better hardware, there is a LOT of competition.
Except Samsung makes Apples screen so you're wrong. Flagship Samsung is the best overall phone on the market. Hardware and software. Nothing touches S24. It's not even a contest.
Never have i ever seen a video showing just what it means to switch from handset to another like you just did. It really is the 'little things' and people don't just get it you know. I haven't finished the video and i've already thought of a number of people to share this with for reference's sake. By far one of the best videos i've seen on the two. Don't get me wrong Apple is alright with their nifty features that standout but when it comes to the everyday things that make a phone 'a phone', apple just falls behind and sadly these are things that have been present for years i don't think they'll ever change. But thats just my own opinion. Theres things the other community do not really find amusing about Android and thats okay.
Bro you really said nothing got iphone advantage, and be honest with that fact that if you are a little more advanced user, the lack of feature are really fact to through out the iphone far far away
I switched to an iPhone 14 Pro Max and I don’t want to go back to Android. iOS have many good features. For example I don’t mind having to do 1 more click for selecting photos, because when you can have that ecosystem and other well designed features , it’s really not that important.
Don’t give up hope yet. I have iPhone and an S23. Work apps only worked on Samsung do to contacts with the 2 companies. You’ll just have to watch several videos to learn about iPhone. It does many of the same things (not all) it just does them differently.
The one thing I really hate about iphone is how my files are stored within each app. If I delete the app, all my files are deleted too. But on Android, if I delete an app, I can still access my files. The Android phone literally just acts like a beautiful and bold flash drive with the handy USB-C cable.
@@andileleelife Yes, store mp3 files in an app, delete the music playing app (whatever you use), and all the mp3s get deleted too. Same with other file types too.
@@ninjanerdstudent6937 wow, that's bad. But I remember, some android apps also behave the same way like iOS. I forget the app name, but I once uninstalled the app, and all the photos in the app directory also got deleted. I tested it several times to make sure if it really deleted the file and turn out it really did. I had to copy my photos or files to other directory before removing the app after that, just to be careful.
For years I actually carried both daily, the iphone I used more in my management career, because everyone in the business used iPhone. My personal pleasure was/is always android, specifically Samsung or Pixel devices. I'm able to accomplish so much more on an Android device, especially customization of look and feel. The latest iOS update provides some more customization, but nothing near android. Great discussion, thank you.
I'm actually returning the 14 pro max,it's not a bad phone and it feels smoother(not faster) and the battery life is clearly greater than my s22 ultra but i just can't get used to it.A lot of limitation, certain things take extra steps to do, lack of customization, notification system is horrible, photo album is bad and not well organized, the file system is 💩, keyboard is garbage 🗑,no multitasking, lack of clipboard is a deal breaker too,the list is so long and i can't even mention all of them. You really nailed it with this review, you mentioned all the problem i encounter with iphone and there are still more.I tried to like it but i just can't
Totally get it! I can imagine how you're feeling. Owning an iPhone may feel great because of how over-hyped it is as a 'luxury' product - but given its poor functional experience, I really find it a weak smartphone. As I said in the video, I do give it to iOS for its optimization, performance, battery life, OS support and ecosystem - but those aren't the only things that defines majority of the experience for majority of the people.
As I usually say, iPhones do get great battery life but at the expense of features, functionalities and automation. Also iOS is extremely single-task oriented. No split screen, no popup app view, no background running full apps, background downloads barely work as expected and get immensely slowed down... it's kinda kinda easy to get great battery life if the whole OS is in sleep mode except the app you are looking at right now
I totally appreciate iPhone's video taking capability, sound output, OS animations and certain pro app availability, rest everything in a day to day life is straight-up pain. If only Samsung could address these points.
Videos and comments like these make me feel really glad I didn't sell my then 20 days old S22 Ultra for iphone 14 Pro when it was launched. Even being a hardcore Android user, 14 Pro was definitely tempting but I now know that those limitations would've driven me crazy.
After going through the comments, I am sure that all Android to iOS switchers have definitely made their own "list" (I also have one in my notes section). I am happy someone finally made a video on "the list". Otherwise all we see are comparisons on specs, hardware and the final outcomes. But how each OS gets to the final outcome (wrt taps and swipes) is what the user experience is about and no one ever made a crib-video on it, finally I saw yours and found peace 😂 I switched back to Android btw
@shiroleshashank: great comment. i have a list as well, but with pros and cons for iOS and Android and am switching back and forth. Currently thinking about buying iPhone 13 Pro or Pixel 8 (same price), but not decided yet. The List is longer pro Pixel, but as i need my iPad as well, that tempts me towards iPhone.
I can't believe someone finally made a video about these issues. I also have a lot of things of my own which freak me out on iOS, in addition to all your mentioned ones: 1. NOTIFICATIONS. The first and most important thing for me. There are few things about Apple's, I can say, horrible, notifications system which freak me out: 1.1. Notifications of chats are upside down. All Apple notifications display by default: Top = New, Old = Bottom. It is a horrible way to read chats in the notifications, it's not logical, it should be the other way around, like the chats are actually displayed in the apps. On Android it's not like that and I've been using iOS for 2 years and I still can't (and won't) get used to that. 1.2. There's no hierarchy of important and unimportant notifications. They are all the same size and shown all together without any separation. (I know there's the Notification Center, but I'll talk about it in the next chapter.) On Android you have separation for silent notifications which show on the bottom, and they are smaller in size, while the important ones are bigger and on the front. Makes it much easier to not miss the important ones and read notifications more easily. 1.3. Notification Center is useless. Why do I need a separate place which is separated (And sometimes hidden) with Notifications that I haven't removed before? Just keep showing me the important notifications on front, I sometimes found myself missing notifications like that. 1.4. Notifications don't expand long enough; I can't read longer Emails / messages like I can on Android. And it looks messy, the bold fonts blend too much with the regular ones, which doesn't look organized enough in my opinion. Not enough separation. 2. Keyboard Swipe (or how they call it, QuickPath). I know it has swipe on English, but for me it actually worked quite well. But the problem is, their supported languages. After years of it being introduced it still lacks A LOT of languages, which Google's (and Samsung's) keyboard had FOR YEARS already. I am waiting so many time for them to add Hebrew and Russian support, which are two of the most used languages for me after English. I know they are trying to be 'the best' when they introduce features and they want them to work properly, but Apple, that's just been too much time. Cmon'. 3. File Management. 3.1. I know Apple file management sucks, but it sucks even more that you can't access ANY of your files on your iPhone from the computer, even if they are saved on your iPhone's memory and not iCloud. It just baffles me. Is it a security thing? Well, the files are on your iPhone internal storage anyways, let me see them on my computer and transfer it for god's sake. 3.2. I hate how the Photos and Files are separated. It doesn't feel like it's on the same device even though they are on both on my iPhone's internal storage. It's not even like that on Mac, you can't see any file structure of your internal storage. I get they are trying to be secure, but this separation and lack of a proper storage management, is just a pure pain. 4. App Library. 4.1. Why for god's sake, can't I order the app library as I want? Why do I have to be forced with the order of apps Apple makes for me? Nobody at Apple thought that their order may not be fitting for anyone? I often find myself asking people around if they actually use the App Library and all the people I asked, at least, said they NEVER use it. And for a reason. 4.2. Why do I have to make several interactions to enter the App Library list of all my apps? First, I have to swipe all the way to the App Library, which may be few swipes depending on your home screens amount. Second, I have to swipe down again to access it. Too many interactions to access it. 5. Home Screen. One of the most annoying things for me, is the lack of ability to place the apps the way I want on the home screen. They always order themselves from top-left to bottom-right automatically. Absolutely no way to disable it. On Android I could add a small clock widget for example on top, and row of apps on the bottom to be more accessible one-handedly. I always have to make compromises in my home-screen organizations because of iOS' limitations. I'm sure there are some more minor things that I may have missed, but that's about the most important ones for me, after being a lifetime Android user and iPhone 12 being my first Apple device ever, which I've been using already for 2 years.
Some other things I hated - Most of the apps are paid, no dual messenger support, you can't sideload apps (technically you can load ipa files for 7 days but it's a pain)
Currently have the S21 Ultra. People try to pressure me to get an iPhone and there is NO WAY I can give up these small features. I use my copy and past clipboard literally everyday. If I lost that I would go insane. I also love how easy it is to customize my phone. The one thing that I like about iPhone is MagSafe. Love the concept and I wish Android had something like it. I've tried the adapter ring you can get, and that thing is just a pain. But I don't like that enough to give up my Clip Board or my precious back button.
@Rodolfo Tsang Not like you can on Samsung. By "clipboard" I mean I can have access to the last 10+ things I have copied. Instead of having to go back and fourth between a few different things, I just need to copy it once and I can paste it, even if I copied it 5 items ago without having to recopy it from the source.
A lot of these restrictions are due to the lack of actual multitasking in iOS. I used an iPhone 12 for six months and couldn't take it for long. Very polished, excellent optimization, and despite the battery size battery life is crazy good. But that comes at a cost - no multi window, bg app refresh (not real running in the background), no split screen apps, etc.
@@invalid4045 Having an option is always better than not having any. Plus there is always a use case for it. One basic example is while watching a video and you get a message/chat. You can directly go to that chat without closing/pausing your video. Even the PiP mode was only recently introduced with iOS 14.
Pretty sure Samsung and Android was and still are notorious for background app refreshes, even on the S23 Ultra. Despite having almost 2x the RAM. Multitasking is a gimmick on a phone screen this small, most don't bother. iPhone battery life since the 13 is in a different league of its own and I think battery life is the most important thing in a smartphone these days.
@@invalid4045 one you start using multi window, it becomes an inseparable part of usage And apps running background in real time is actually better in iPhone, web pages done keep refreshing every time your reopen.
I thought I was the only person who was bothered with these issues of the iPhone! I really want to have an iPhone.. but these small things always hit my mind before buying an iOS!! I'm happy and used to it with Android! And after so many years it must be very tough to change those habits.. after paying so much money for ios, it's not worth it to do so much sacrifices... 😊happy to know many people are on my side. 😊😊
One item that you could highlight is how well Google handles languages beyond English. If you want to type in any Indian language, Google does an amazing job both via typing using English transliteration or voice typing in Indian language like Tamil or Malayalam. I see all my friends with iPhone struggle to ride anything in any language other than English and here I am voice typing in Malayalam...
many android users have been switching to iphones blindly, they all regret it because they didn't know what they're getting into, if someone is really used to android, it's gonna be extremely hard and annoying to switch to an iphone, and vise versa
I had to buy a new phone in March but in Europe, we only had Exynos so instead buying S22+, i bought a 13 Pro, Alpine Green. It was the best moment to buy an iPhone : Amazing color, battery life, first ever iPhone with 120hz screen, smoothness. But first month were so painful. In July, i bought a Poco F4, with SD870: perfect occasion for me to try a Xiaomi phone after 12 years of Samsung. Snapdragon 870 is a very good chip and this Xiaomi phone gives me everything Android is about. I have managed to adapt to iPhone : for basics use cases, my 449€ Xiaomi phone is better with Android Back Gesture, Cloned Apps, Row numbers Key and Multitasking but of course when i have to shoot photos/videos, iPhone 13 Pro is the only answer.
@@mobiscrub Outside of back Gesture, it was easy for me to switch because i daily use Google Apps, Deezer Music, WhatsApp, Netflix, Uber, Booking ... All apps that you can find in both iOS and Android platform. What is good is that i can use WhatsApp on iPhone and on Windows Pc. Same for Google Apps.
I am an android user…my work gave me an iPhone 9 months ago…I almost quit….I’m getting an s22 from them next week because the work line is finally available for an upgrade…I’m so happy
Totally agree my brother bought a brand new iPhone he wanted to set a custom ringtone which he is even ready to buy from tune store but it's not available and I had to literally waste 1.5 hrs finding a work around to set a custom ringtone. Apple just takes away the flexibility, user control and some of the basic functionalities compare to Android especially Samsung with advanced user friendly One UI.
Same, my brother too doesn't like his iPhone because it comprises with flexibility and ease of working on phone. This video makes it clear for me that I will not buy one as I work a lot on my phone and WhatsApp. I can't imagine doing two steps more just to forward messages.
I ”upgraded” to the 13 Pro Max last year and while it was a great phone it was so frustrating to use sometimes. I agree with almost everything you mentioned in this video. After getting used to Android and the more advanced features, using iOS feels so inconvenient sometimes, and just makes my life more difficult. Switching to iOS was just a nightmare (I have used it a lot before, but not on my main phone). I decided to sell the phone eventually and go back to Samsung.
Once you are in Apple ecosystem I think your frustration will go away as you will achieve everything you want your phone to do. Universal clipboard, continuity, Airdrop, extended screen, pinch to copy and pinch out to paste and so much more with Apple security will make your life much easier. Hope it helps.
@Arif Jamal i have been in the ecosystem,i got the ipad pro 11,apple watch series 7 and airpod pro,i tried to get used to apple but it's simply difficult, the phone lacks so many features or things that android offers
@@pearlsofwisdom101 I too came from iPhone then when they introduced the notch, I switched to Android. Still now, I'm using Mi 9T Pro from 3 years ago. What Apple lacks are features like split screen, floating windows and most importantly gestures. Also, Google Assistant seems smarter as all the battle of voice assistant from other youtubers showed. It really depends on how one use phone. If you don't do split screen or floating windows and just normal use, then iPhone is fine.
Switching from Samsung to iPhone is like going to a decade backward. Finding the back button is extremely irritating. Can't do anything while on a video call in WhatsApp. So many inconvenience. I bought S22 Ultra although it is more expensive than 14 Pro Max but it's worth the money.
I swapped from iPhone back to Android after the iPhone 6. Having to do everything through iTunes did my head in, and don't even get me started on the serious lack of free icloud storage! That being said, I've been on Android for a while now and still didn't know half the stuff you showed in this video that Android phones can do. I'm very impressed. Great video.
This video is a gem. You summed it up so well. I've used a few iPhones over the years but always found myself going back to android as my primary device for a host of reasons, including the ones you mentioned in the video.
Totally agree with you. It was a real pain switching to apply for all the hype only to be disappointed with all the shortcomings. Top of the annoying list is the back button.
I use windowed apps/ split screen apps about 75% of my day. I seriously couldn't imagine going without it. It's so nice to be able to listen and/or watch a TH-cam video while checking my calendar, Facebook or driving with Maps up. Same with Google maps, I could not imagine having to close out google maps just because I need to check on something else like making sure a store I'm going to is open, or if I'm giving someone else directions being able to still watch a video, check socials etc. I had no idea they didn't have this feature. It's been so long since this was released on Android, how has iPhone not implemented it yet???
It's not like iPhones can't do it. Facetime allows for Picture-in-picture video caling. TH-cam opens up in a pop up window when minimized. But most other apps are not able to do it. So, I'm not sure whether this is an iOS restriction or app developers not doing it - but it does seem more and more like an iOS restriction given those apps have PiP on Android phones for years.
@@sammib144 the design of iOS is a better design only for certain things like notifications tend to come in really quick in iOS so I’ve heard because of sending directly to apple servers and then the phone vs to app servers then the phone on android but personally I’ve never seen a real difference. I know a Chinese guy on quora explained it why in china some prefer the design of iPhone the way the os is designed because it’s a better way of communication but I prefer android since I’m able to do more on it. iPhone is very limiting and expensive in terms of the os because you can’t get free music and most games are paid and emulation is so easy on android and even tho the newest iPads and iPhone have a lot of emulation power they still are too many hoops to go thru (altstore or only other option besides being jailbreak which is worse but would make the whole cpu useable at least)
This is exactely what I felt when I switched from Android to iPhone two years ago! :D There are some other Issues: Pictures are ALL in one mediathek, iPhone does not create folders for whatsapp for example. And they sort the photos in the wrong way, from up to down instead of bottom-up. You can change this but ONLY in self-created albums but not for mediathek! :D And then we have the scrolling issue: on iOS You can`t run through with holding your finger on the upcoming task bar on the right or in the contacts menu, no You have to scroll throuh all the way by swiping! Really don`t understand why they don`t fix this.
this is a problem i have 10000 photos try scroll them :D , and folders agree this is big issue sometimes i mix files mp3 jpg pdf but i know where are they, on iphone no way :/
I was thinking of doing the switch this year with iPhone 15. Been using Android since 2009. You pointed out so many things that would piss me off. Thank you.
I've been using an iPhone for 3 years and i must say that there's some thing that i really missed when using an android. I wish apple adding scrolling screenshot, clipboard, more PiP capability and more costumizability options on their next ios update.
Also the fact that the you can’t quickly tap on part of a sentence you want to edit without using and dragging the spacebar makes it a annoyance rather than precision/speed (even though your finger isn’t blocking the text when dragging the spacebar)
And the photo album is not going to bother sorting a separate album for photos you downloaded online (or give it a original file name for photos) Hence, clustering together with camera taken photos which is a mess.
My Man, you forgot about the biggest disadvantage!! Real File Management that we have been doing since we started learning to operate a PC. File management is extremely important when seriously using your phone or any productivity oriented computing device.
IOS has had real file management for some time, though. You can zip files natively, create folders, modify file extension, check folder/file full info, connect to a server, etc. IOS is far better than what it was, to be honest, and some of the shortcomings compared to Android have been addressed. What I do envy, though, is the typing experience of Android and the Google Assistant integration.
I found your video very informative indeed. Thank You. I was in the throws of upgrading my aging android phone and was undecided on whether I should stick with android or move over to the iPhone. Your presentation helped clarify for me the functionalities that I valued most and what I could do without, in using my phone on a daily basis. I concluded that, for me, the iPhone would adequately satisfy my requirements. Another factor for my considering the iPhone over android was my circle of family and friends - with very few exceptions, they have iPhones. Now I can look forward to ready help with the learning curve, where necessary, as I ease myself into the Apple ecosystem.
I can relate each and every point. I switched my OnePlus 7 Pro with my wife's iPhone 11. I missed my OP7 Pro every time I used the iPhone. Finally returned back😂
Man! I have S22 Ultra and it's a delight to use on daily basis. The battery life is more than satisfies my day-to-day as well as long trip needs. Been using it for past 3 months and I absolutely love it. Previously I have Iphone 12 and SE 2020 for sometime. To be honest apart from battery and camera both the phones were the same. But S22 Ultra have a lot to play with through their Good Lock app as well as the One UI 5.
So first of all your calling S22 Ultra Vs iPhone 12 a fair fight. 2020 V 2022. Already that is an unfair fight, and the worst part is that your comparing a normal 12 to the best version of s22. it would have to be iPhone 13 Pro Max Vs S22 Ultra to be a fair fight. I understand if you are not a techy person.
I love it, “I don’t care if it’s a [WhatApp] issue or an IOS issue it’s an issue for me as a [WhatsApp] user on IOS PERIOD.” This sums up most of my problems with iPhone/IOS. Android has way more flexibility and things like the fingerprint sensor are deal breakers for me. iPhone can NEVER be my main device as is because of these seemingly small irritations. I can say I like iPhone’s dual eSim seamless switching vs Android’s restart to apply a new network’s firmware.
Just a tip, iPhone uses a mix of buttons and gestures. Don’t see the back button? Swip from left to right like you do on Samsung when gestures are enabled. The hard part of going to an iPhone is that not everything is consistent across the entire phone. I still learn new stuff all the time, like holding the space bar lets you move the text cursor anywhere you want easily and quickly.
I was an Android user from 2010 (HTC Desire HD) to 2022 (OnePlus 8 Pro). The biggest things I miss from Android are the easy file management, and emulating PS1/PS2 games.
Thanks for your thoughts,im now going to go with s23 instead of iphone 14 ,after watching countless videos on both and being samsung for years, samsung was kinda in the lead anyway, but this has sealed the deal,as i would certainly miss 90% of things mentioned here.👍
Be wary about Samsung as well. In February 2023 I had a galaxy S4, S6 edge and S10, all do unauthorised updates and all became bricks. Two won't even turn on and the S10 just flashes a green screen at me, with absolutely no screen touch functionality. In December 2022, over 200,000 phones in Australia had this happen to them, and the best Samsung suggested was for a factory reset. None of my phones will factory reset, and apart from that, people have lost all information from personal videos, photos, documents, contacts, accounts etc. The original purchase prices for my phones now total $2650 in damage due to updates. I've had enough of the BS from Samsung, and now use a Oppo A57, and to be quite honest, for $219au , I regret ever wasting my money on Samsung products. My S10 cost me $1300 new and is just a paperweight now. Samsung is way over priced and the only drawback with the Oppo A57 is a slight delay starting up new apps. You also have to enable USB adapters via system settings whereas the Samsung was automatic.
@@rogerramjet6429 I've also had quite a couple of samsung phones, the S3, S6, S9 and am waiting on my S23 to be delivered. The S9 that I'm curently still using after 4 years works fine, although it has become slower and the battery life isn't what it used to be. By became bricks you mean they were totaly unusable?
@@rogerramjet6429 meanwhile apple said my ipod was too old, only a couple years old. Removed the ability to log into the app store so I was unable to download or update anything. Apple turned it into a brick and I through it away
You basically captured some of the reasons why I bought the iPhone 13 Pro Max (coming from the Note 20 Ultra) and sold it after 3 weeks of use and then waited for the S22 Ultra to be released. Also, I use my phone as a hotspot A LOT, and for some or other reason, the hotspot on the iPhone just randomly switches off all the time! Also, if you type a lot of text and accidentally delete it, android has an undo button!
When I switched to iPhone two years ago, the lack of a clipboard copy option was the one feature I missed the most. and two years later, it’s still not here. That aside, the transition to iPhone was smooth, and I’ve grown to love using it. It’s much easier and more intuitive for me compared to my previous Android.
I switched from my Google Pixel 6 to an iPhone 14 Pro. I lasted 3 days before I took that thing back to Best Buy. You summed up a lot of the issues I was having. I am sticking with Android from now on and have happily migrated to a Pixel 7 Pro.
I can understand. I bought a 13 Pro in March and i wanted to drop it. Very painful 😭. But i finally kept it. Now, i really feel at ease with iPhone. It allows me to see that Android is so much complete, even with a midrange smartphone. Iphone are better with Battery Life and Video ( 13 Pro / Max smartphones are 👍🏿) but overall experience is way complete with an Android flagship like S22 Ultra. Ecosystem stuff and hyped are overated. Android Back Gesture, Android keyboard, Multitasking With Split Screen, Cloned Apps, Connection between Microsoft and Android smartphones … Android is so good 🥇and Android flagship are wonderful
Nobody, ever, explained these stuff this precise, simple and good as you :) My wife is trying very hard to make me switch to iOS and she is trying for years now, and i was finding it very hard to explain why i think UI is 100% better on Android, you helped me a lot. So, i am forwarding this one to her, it will be so fun to watch her reaction 💪😂
I'm trying to convince my husband to come to the Samsung ecosystem lol he's a hard core apple user. Me and my brother in law are the only people that have pretty much cannot stand Apple lol
Very well done. I’ve seen a lot of iOS versus android videos and this is one of the best ones I’ve seen. I switched to an iPhone about a year ago because of the video camera and airdrop to my Mac since I’m a content creator as well. But man do I miss android! Really thinking about going back when the new Pixel comes out this year for many other reasons you mentioned.
Wow Finally someone who mentions the lack of a "back button/gesture" For me it's the main deal breaker to stop using iPhone the next bs is the keyboard is so slow and incredibly small, lacks the clipboard option. It's just annoyingly slow for me.
@@tusharbhatia870I don't care about UI if I don't get what I want Good android UI skins are: Oneui, Coloros, Realmeos Their newer models not only are good in performance but overall experience If you want an overall good phone, buy a pixel 7
This is the best vis-a-vis breakdown yet. When using a phone I really do not want to be jumping through hoops. I also want accessibility and flexibility when communicating on whatever platform I'm using on the phone. I knew Apple was going to be a problem in 2009 when I could not transfer music onto my ipod without installing iTunes on my computer. That meant if I wanted to get rare music from a friend he would have to have iTunes on his PC. Hell no. With all these expensive inconveniences with iPhone, it has merely gotten worse over time.
Great video as always, you didn't mention the absence of background processes for a real multitasking, that's a huge limitation. I mean for example you can't download a file and use another app at the same time.
As someone who doesn’t use phones to their full potential, I do really love my iPhone 14 Pro Max so far. I do like how simple it is. Although I miss having split screen so I can use multiple apps at the same time. For the most part it’s been smooth and the majority of things you listed I don’t use anyway so there’s no real loss to me. I am also loving my battery life. I could probably charge once every two days if I had to
This is one video I totally agree with. I have been on android since 2014, switched to an iPhone X last year and all you have mentioned are all what I have been going through. The device itself is good but the extra steps make me less efficient so the speed of the phone does not matter in the long run. My next phone is definitely not an iPhone.
That’s the first fair review with real things missing in iPhone, not some bullshit about not being able to move icons or personalize it so much, great work
I was contemplating whether I should get an iPhone after using Samsung for more than a decade. You just gave me enough perspective to understand what I'm missing. Thanks man, +1 sub from me :)
When you turn off Wifi and Bluetooth from the Control Center, they are not fully turned off - they just turn white. You have to go to Setting manually to turn them off. I've experienced this since iPhone 7, then went back to Android. Then bought an iPhone 12 this year and it is still the same so I switched to Pixel 7 just recently. I really love the split screen and the pure android experience.
100% true, i wanna add two more issues 1) lack of screen on screen for Google maps, 2) to unlock screen after face ID swipe with finger is mandatory, in Android it directly takes to home screen after unlocking.
I was a Samsung user since Note 4 was released and 3 years ago I switched to iPhone cuz of performance, quality and battery but I realized I’m someone who loves productivity and multitasking and the Apple ecosystem is so limited I couldn’t stand anymore, lack of multitasking, extra steps to do something simple, bad experience with the keyboard and dictionaries, bad home screen with unorganized apps and lack of customization which you can’t put over 2 widgets in the same Home Screen, weeks ago I switched back to Samsung and got a note 20 ultra 5G, it’s almost perfect and as someone who takes lots of notes and do sketches and wireframes I can do anything with the spen, soon I’ll trade in for the s23 ultra Update: oh and not to forget that Samsung always has awesome deals when preordering a new device
I think Apple is an aesthetic thing. I'll admit I want one, it's how smooth the UI looks, something about the colors are gentle and just look perfect, but the UI and software abilities arent as good as Android and Samsung, I'm using a Samsung. And I want to switch to the Apple ecosystem because of the work I do, and need the camera and seamless synchronization between devices, but MacOS and IOS are just limited in so many useful everyday necessary functions.
I mean, Samsung has tried for years to replicate Apple's UI... they are pretty close to it with the one UI, but it will never be the same bc Samsung phones in general come with 3 competing ecosystems pre-installed: samsung, google, microsoft.... whereas Apple offers everything with iOS. There is a huge benefit to having a closed-off strict operating system, that doesn't allow 3rd party customization.
@@TheKRGS and what is the huge benefit ? And besides that Apple themselves have copied many of Samsung and Androids features too. Basic things like... interactive widgets 😆
Wait what? I've used the first iPhone, iPhone 3g, 3gs, 4, 4s and then changed to the Galaxy S2 and staid in Android. I was hoping after all this years, all those problems in iPhone could be already solved ... it's incredible. They haven't even change the lightning cable (conector) to USB-C ... thank you for sharing this. I was about to purchase an iPhone 13.
Same here. I switched to iPhone 13 pro from 10 years of being an android user. Bro you nailed it. I had exact same issues and you covered almost all of them. All my past phones lasted 3+ years. I can barely keep this one more than 2 years. Btw, one more issue; In iOS Facebook you cannot swipe photos and videos of a post which you can do in Androids.
Edge Panels on OneUI is a very useful feature, and that is the reason why I stick only to Samsung. I have customized it to include my most used apps, a calculator panel, a quick notes panel, and the advanced screenshot panel. It comes in so handy in day-to-day use. I can use all these things on any screen with just the swipe of a finger, without having to go to the individual apps. Such a great feature to have.
I love this video, it's unlike any other reviews I've ever seen. It's as if talking about iPhone's shortcomings is taboo. Thank you for posting this video!
This is an important video, because it talks about the little things which will annoy every user. And no mainstream tech reviewer talks about it. This is another reason why I'll never own an iPhone or Mac.
As someone who switched from the iPhone 13 Pro Max to the S22 Ultra this year, all of this is so so right, i cant even begin to explain how much more intuitive & built around me this phone feels. Ofc I miss the refinement and no lag/stutter at all of apple but dude this phone anyday
Navigating contacts, multitasking, and keyboard performance, are all the things that I missed as well. I didn’t realize that I was gonna miss those as much as I do. Even Google Messages has made leaps and bounds. Once they get RCS figured out, it will surpass iPhone.
I switched to 14 pro max last month after using android since the dawn of smartphones & everything you’ve mentioned was absolutely right 💯 especially the t9 dial & keyboard inaccuracy are the two things that annoy me the most! Even the swipe typing on the iOS keyboard is straight up garbage🗑️
Sometimes the touch screen doesnt even work when typing, you have to press a bit more hard for the touch screen to always work. One of the main things i hate about an iphone
Hey, great video. Exactly what I was looking for. Been an Android user since day 1 and was briefly debating whether it's time to try the iphone. I recently tried to help a friend switching from iphone to Android and discovered that, (shock), WhatsApp history, (chats etc), DO NOT transfer on Android. Unless, you buy some software (can't remember the name) and even then, it's not guaranteed to work! Do you know anything about this in general. Chat histories from Android to iphone of various apps? Or, even from iphone to Android. Thank you!!!
You just earned yourself a new subscriber. I've been scrolling through videos that deal with this topic for the past hour since I'm due for an upgrade and was thinking about giving the iPhone a try. This video was thorough and straight to the point and covered all the bases. Thank you 👍🏾
One basic annoyance you missed: you can't edit numbers in the dialler. If you want to, say, add the country code to someone's number, you have to paste it into Notes, edit it there, and re-copy it back into the dialler. In Android, you can change the number however you want without any extra steps.
Bought my first ever iOS device. Using a dual sim is so much more convenient in an android; switching between mobile data networks is simpler there; choosing which sim to make a call through is intuitive there; using parallel apps is an integrated option in the system (I have to use whatsapp business here for the second sim); click and drag backspace to select-delete text is how it should be (can’t do that here); putting cursor precisely where I want it to be, specially if that is between the characters and that too just with a click - was possible on the android, here its an extra step.
Wow so many basic we take for granted with android! I was seriously considering switching to iPhone but no I am staying. Thank you for the great video! 👍🏽
These are all on the point. I have been using both iPhone & Samsung for past 3.5 years now and I agree with each and every point. The iPhone slows me down noticeably doing literally the easiest tasks. Few more things to add to your points are the pathetic notification management on iOS, one the most annoying thing being the notification pop-up that never goes away or takes ages to go away when you're working on another app. Secondly, no split screen where Samsung is the king.
Same. I sold my S22 (6 months old) and bought a 13 Pro. The battery is the only thing I like with iOS. Other than that, Android allows more freedom and is way better.
I still love apple with my first smartphone being a 3G until the 6S Plus but it felt lacking so I then switched to Samsung S7 Edge until S21 Ultra and have never looked back. This video literally states why I am still not back with the iPhones, though, I am really tempted now to get the 14 Pro Max but my needs and this video reminds me to wait for the S23 Ultra... I think I need to be smart about needs vs wants.
Trust me I have both phones and s22U is more useable for productivity imo. The 14 pro max is heavier in hand and feels like a brick, and need 2 hands to operate most of the functions. But on the s22U , I can operate this phone with one hand and the PIP applies to all apps instead of selected apps on the iPhone. It boils down to preference
Yeah I agree iPhone had way better features back in the 2G - 5S erra, but things that I'm so used to doing for years and years and years, not being able to used those features would feel like a downgrade. It sucks because IOS has the smoothest operating system on a phone but it's not worth it for the drawbacks
i'm a galaxy S10e user, but at the same time, i own 12 pro. i truly agree what you have just explained especially the keyboard feature. damn, i love the galaxy keyboard more than the iphone.
Fingerprint feature is spot on. I am so annoyed with face ID in my iPhone. My hand is already on the phone but I still need to hold it up to my face😵💫.
Great pointing out the huge differences! It makes me think now on switching to android. I am eyeing for an SG S22 and I get excited after watching this. Thanks for this☺️
Yeah, I bought an iPhone 13 Pro a week ago and it really feels different. Too many limitations/restrictions unlike Android which really makes you feel you are the real owner of the phone. The iPhone is great, no question. But overall, I prefer Android (Samsung). This may likely be my last iPhone and switch to Samsung S24 once it gets released.
Choose carefully. I did the same and I absolutely hate couple things on S22 platform. Camera shutter will be horrendous, screen quality isn't as good as iPhone and battery life you'll miss dearly. Those three things are making switch back to iPhone lineup like ASAP.
@PrivatePerson No way. S22U has the best screen in the business hands down! Battery lasts for a working day and optimization has improved with 5.0. I charge my phone every night anyway, so it doesn't matter. Also, S22U has faster 45W charging compared to iPhone and it tops up in about an hour. The new camera assistant module fixes shutter lag as well. These are nothing compared to the lack of basic features on the iPhone that mars user experience.
This is just the info I needed. I haven't had an iphone since the iphone 3G. I was thinking about giving the 14 pro max a try but I needed to know the main differences. So I'll just get the s23 ultra like I originally planned on doing.
@shomari17 , it's amazing. I'm coming from Note 9 - the photo and video quality are of the rocket. It's amazingly fast. The new UI is packed with nice stuff also. It seamlessly connects with my tablet, TV, and Windows PC. The finger and face recognition work very well. Multitasks like a breeze. Though I do drain the battery faster than I expected lol But also, I have it limited to charge only to around 85%.
Was thinking of switching to iphone lately, but your video made me forget about it. I have no idea how iphone survive this far, it's ridiculous IMO....
I appreciate this, it really explained why I have been with Samsung so long. My first smartphone was the HTC g1 and I have always been on Android. I appreciate the more open source environment of androids as well. Good video! 👍🏻
My current phone is lagging way too much and I was looking forward to switch to iOS this time , so I began searching to find out what Android features I'll miss if I switched to iphone , i have seen dozens of videos and none of those videos covered these basic but important points , can't thank you enough for this video , you saved my money and mental peace 🙏
Handling files is a real nightmare. I had a problem with uploading photos and videos from newest iPhone to PC through USB cable recently. It shows unnecessary files or additional photo versions (which must take more memory), mixes files order or doesn't show some files at all until like third plugging. There's no way to see the size of numerous selected files (at least not on iPhone 7 I'm using, on others there might be but only by adding them to separate folder). The difference between All photos app and Files/Folders is perplexing. I don't know how it works but I can delete or edit a video/photo on All photos app after transporting it to a folder yet it still exist in the original form in the folder. How much memory does it take then?

The back function issue is something I noticed years ago on iPhones. Whenever my friends hand me over their iPhones I sometimes need to ask them "how do I make it go back?"
This is so true!!!! I get so anxious. Man, there's NO WAY you can only have that only space for back function. Wow.
I still do, how on earth they continue without it is beyond my understanding of basic functionality of user interface
I still don’t understand why Apple can’t bring down the back button on the buttom left ..
Yes, just switched to iPhone and it is crazy
We literally just swipe back lol, it becomes like second nature to use gestures on iPhone
Which is insane, cause apples eco system isn't better than android. It's it's worse if it has to deal with third party devices
You are right! A lot of youtubers talking about the color of the iPhone or the dynamic island, but zero about this important things. Well, I'm sure they know why.
would not say it matters that much, some of these stuff do. But that you need to press an extra time to select messages is pretty silly and does not matter
Ecosystem is just justification to make you buy 3 or 4 devices to use basic function of the first one you bought.

Got an iPhone as a company phone.
You put together a great list, the most annoying is the
- lack of a proper back button,
- the typing experience, the basic keyboard is abhorrent, and once I installed the "same" SwiftKey as I use on Android, and the iOS version is clearly inferior.
- the notification system is a lot more refined in Android
- quick settings for wifi, BT, NFC and all these are a lot better on Android
..and the list could go on, but these are the worst.
So thank you for saving me from having to buy my own iPhone, now I can hate it without wasting my money.
same for me. company phone. i got so stressed I ended up asking for an android.
I just wasted my money for 15 pro max and really not happy with UX. Gonna go back to android.
Screenshots appear in the photo gallery of the camera app..🤢
You do realise that Android by default does not have a back bottom? All OSes are gesture based
Gboard is pretty good even on iOS(still subpar to android)
It may be silly, but the lack of the back button was is the main deal breaker for me. I just cannot get used to it, it feels counterintuitive.
Same with me . I just can't do without the back gesture.

The back button is absolutely essential especially while operating with a single hand. In fact I'm so accustomed to it that I do not use gestures on my Android device and still prefer the bottom navigation tray.
So true. Hope Apple will implement BACK button one day. But that's unlikely
On Android, the back button
-exits the app like Play store
-refreshes the feed like tiktok.
-goes to the top of the feed like ig.
-closes the app but only when done twice like Sync.
-goes to previous page/tab like in ig, but exists in other apps like jodel.
-goes to the top of the feed in one page, but changes to main page from another page like in ig
-first scrolls to top then exists, like reddit, and this function is in every tab
-on one tab it scrolls, on other tab it changes tab, like on ig
-on some apps it either exists or don't depending if you opened the app from a notification or icon, like reddit
-depending on app, it either goes to previous app, or goes back on the same app
-Then in apps like tiktok, the back gesture changes to main page and refreshes the feed at the same time, so one must be careful to not press it to not accidentally refersh the feed.
I don't use back buttons on Android, i swipe .
@@eclipticpath you're an iphone user period and you will never agree that back button is a big deal because you're used to not having it. Bruh you can also tap on the task bar on Android

These are the functionalities that it's NOT being mentioned in the reviews. Every review only mentions about game, camera & video, display. Absolutely agree 👍
But one Major thing missed - Shufting WhatsApp from Android to iPhone. It is a BIG BIG pain ...
There are so many” little” things that end up making using this phone a horrible experience.
That's fine, that you don't like it. But RT news? Seriously?
Gosh thank you sm for this review! I was thinking of buying one but now I'll save my money 🫡
Yea but you missed iPhone pro max you should have waited.😂
Can you use Android bluetooth headphones?
@@focariii thanks lol

@@EugeniaLoli Honestly, every basic android is having this functions nowadays so it is a basic functionality. The one thing I really hate about iphone is how my files are stored within each app. If I delete the app, all my files are deleted too. But on Android, if I delete an app, I can still access my files. The Android phone literally just acts like a beautiful and bold flash drive with the handy USB-C cable.

Agree with you guys
Videos and comments like these make me feel really glad I didn't sell my then 20 days old S22 Ultra for iphone 14 Pro when it was launched. Even being a hardcore Android user, 14 Pro was definitely tempting but I now know that those limitations would've driven me crazy.
After going through the comments, I am sure that all Android to iOS switchers have definitely made their own "list" (I also have one in my notes section).
I am happy someone finally made a video on "the list". Otherwise all we see are comparisons on specs, hardware and the final outcomes.
But how each OS gets to the final outcome (wrt taps and swipes) is what the user experience is about and no one ever made a crib-video on it, finally I saw yours and found peace 😂
I switched back to Android btw
I have a list too in my Notes app! It's up to 21 reasons why I hate iphones. I'm about switching back to android
I also have a lot of things of my own which freak me out on iOS, in addition to all your mentioned ones:
1. NOTIFICATIONS. The first and most important thing for me. There are few things about Apple's, I can say, horrible, notifications system which freak me out:
You should become a professional reviewer, this was as informative as the video itself.
Every point is spot on!

It depends on use case scenario. I have a galaxy note 10+ and I rarely if ever use multi window/ split screen apps

Agree. I'm with you on this.

Exactly that's why I am staying with android lol 🤣
I am an android user…my work gave me an iPhone 9 months ago…I almost quit….I’m getting an s22 from them next week because the work line is finally available for an upgrade…I’m so happy
Totally agree my brother bought a brand new iPhone he wanted to set a custom ringtone which he is even ready to buy from tune store but it's not available and I had to literally waste 1.5 hrs finding a work around to set a custom ringtone. Apple just takes away the flexibility, user control and some of the basic functionalities compare to Android especially Samsung with advanced user friendly One UI.
Agreed...
So sad actually.. 😂
U can do that using iTunes but u have to do lots of work for that.. i owned an iphones since 2014 i got my custom ringtones 😂
@@anormous6812 yeah you need a mac to do it, at most on samsung, just put the ringtone file into the ringtone folder and there you go
Same, my brother too doesn't like his iPhone because it comprises with flexibility and ease of working on phone. This video makes it clear for me that I will not buy one as I work a lot on my phone and WhatsApp. I can't imagine doing two steps more just to forward messages.
Used an iphone for two weeks, hated it, sold the phone, returned to Samsung, why would people accept that ????

Switched for the first time to an iPhone after 13 years of android and you mentioned some great problems I’m facing everyday.
Good work
I use windowed apps/ split screen apps about 75% of my day.
@@mobiscrub Thanks for the clarification! Hopefully one day they'll be able to get it worked out.
Also the fact that the you can’t quickly tap on part of a sentence you want to edit without using and dragging the spacebar makes it a annoyance rather than precision/speed (even though your finger isn’t blocking the text when dragging the spacebar)

Hence, clustering together with camera taken photos which is a mess.

Update: oh and not to forget that Samsung always has awesome deals when preordering a new device

One basic annoyance you missed: you can't edit numbers in the dialler. If you want to, say, add the country code to someone's number, you have to paste it into Notes, edit it there, and re-copy it back into the dialler. In Android, you can change the number however you want without any extra steps.
Yeah I find that annoying
What...?
Agree. This has annoyed me on many occasions.
I recently switched to iPhone from Samsung and you are right, it is annoying and i am thinking of switching back.
Same. I sold my S22 (6 months old) and bought a 13 Pro. The battery is the only thing I like with iOS. Other than that, Android allows more freedom and is way better.
Bro your breakdown on this is so real and accurate

The S23 Ultra is a beast! Love it!
How are you liking the s23 Ultra so far
@shomari17 , it's amazing. I'm coming from Note 9 - the photo and video quality are of the rocket. It's amazingly fast. The new UI is packed with nice stuff also. It seamlessly connects with my tablet, TV, and Windows PC. The finger and face recognition work very well. Multitasks like a breeze. Though I do drain the battery faster than I expected lol But also, I have it limited to charge only to around 85%.
@@Chocolatechipwitches 👏🏽 that's great to hear I just received mine and I'm loving it also. One of the best phones Samsung has ever made.
Try a pixel phone
Same goes here
@@retrogamerz_bmfl9941 I think the Google pixel is not supported in his country. So he might miss out on warranty. He can check maybe Samsung
Pixels are not worth it
me too bro switching to i phone after 6-7 years using Android but still confused
