I'll say it again, you're the best on TH-cam for quality camera stuff, even for noobs like me...I hope you never sell out and become one of those fancy shandy youtubers that has 20 secs of content and 11 minutes of self indulging video clips with fancy editing that don't that say much. U know which youtubers I'm talking about.
I have watched dozens of videos on setting up the M50 and this one is hands down the best. Even if you don't have an M50, the basic techniques are clearly explained and universal.
This has got to be the most informative video on a single subject I've ever seen, densely packed. This two part series is honestly enlightening as a beginner with an M50 as my first camera. Thank you.
Thank you. I need to watch this several times as it’s all new to me but I greatly appreciate you’re sharing details for each option settings. I especially like this because it’s on the M50 which is what I’ve recently purchased.
Thanks for taking the time to do all of this. I just got started doing videos and had no idea how much there was to learn just to get started! Your guides helped cut through a lot of the confusion.
EXCELLENT video, a goldmine for tips! I did a postgrad course in photo/video/multimedia some 25 years ago, and yet thanks to you I've learnt plenty of things I wasn't told at the time, and remembered some I forgot about! Thanks a million for what you do, all your vids are really top quality, both in form and in content! Just subscribed to your channel!
You are absolutely an amazing teacher. Thank you so much for completing Part 2. This gives me so much of my life back.. I don't have to watch 5-10 different videos on how to use the Canon M50. I will now apply all of the invaluable tips that you have taught us. I truly appreciate all of your time, energy and effort that you use to produce these very informative videos.
You are so welcome Sherry! I'm so glad the videos are providing you with value and are saving you time! I will continue to put out M50 content to help creators grow with their gear. Thank you for being a part of the channel!
Thank you for this, I bought my Canon M50 last year when you compared it to another camera. I love it so far and now I'm definitely going to try shooting video with these settings
I really love that flip up effect that you have on your videos! You just got me and watched this in full along with the 1st episode as well. You are so amazing, one last thing, your lights in the background is sooooo pretty!!! Love love love love love it sooo much.
This is the best video I’ve seen on the M50, everything was very well explained. I’ve watched a lot of other videos with some good info but, this was the most concise and informative of them all. I liked how you explained all the settings and how you would use them for specific shots. Really helped me learn how to properly use my camera.
So glad the video was helpful Jacob. I really appreciate you taking the time to share such wonderful feedback. Thank you for being part of the channel 🙏
You are the BESTTTT. After so many years of wanting this camera I finally have it. And you are the BEST person I chose to set all of my settings. So thank you.
woww!! thank you so much, feels like i get in love again with my old m50.. every m50 owner need to watch this video.. we need to see another episode about lighting.. must be great
Thank you very much. I followed your steps in making a cinematic video and applied it to the Canon 250D camera, and the results were very satisfactory, thanks again.
Tech Gear Talk I’d love to have your input on my channel. FYI, the sunflower video was not shot with the M50 but the 3 prior videos were. I found that a variable rotating ND filter is great setting exposure outdoors.
This video was really helpful. I just discovered your account and like your clear, fast paced, no-nonsense approach. Exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you!
I have three TH-cam channels and I am camera-dumb, have only used cheap point-and-shoots and handheld video cameras like the Sony Handycam. When the last one started crashing, I researched and chose the Canon M50 and have been fumbling my way through, watching video tutorials and pulling what is left of my hair out, LOL. You present the information in such an easy to understand manner, thank you! I shoot a lot on my mini -farm, but my biggest challenge is that I shoot next to my house (with hunter green siding so I hang a quilt behind me at times) under an 8' wraparound porch roof on the east side of the house. I've only done a couple of videos so far, still trying to get the basics down to get the look right. Once I accidentally had 4K turned on, yikes, what a disaster! Generally, I try to wait until afternoon because morning light is so harsh, but I've had trouble with pictures being either too dark or too yellow-looking. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but I keep watching and tweaking settings. I'll be referring back quite a bit to your videos, I'm sure. Appreciate it! ~Cynthia
I cant explain how well articulated you are when explaining these things. I am truly grateful for you clear and incredibly accurate information. thanks man!
Same here! A little more than a week for me, and I'm absolutely loving the quality out of this entry level camera! It's my first camera aswell, so I can't really compare it to more professional cameras, but upgrading from smartphone to the Canon M50 feels like an enormous leap for me! Thank you Tech Gear Talk !
You did it again! Brilliant! You really manage to cover all knowledge levels. You mention those details that others skip or forget. Keep up your fantastic work!
You have helped me so much with my video editing. I have just started this journey and you have really saved me so much time and money. This is truly invaluable gift. Thank you so so much
Awesome Video. Very straightforward without a lot of hype and ego. Just easy to understand information presented in a friendly way. You've definitely gained a follower!!
I recently got the sigma 30 MM 1.4 which was my first lens upgrade from the kit lens and my first prime and just wow-- what an amazing and affordable piece of gear
Your videos were the primary reason I just ordered the M50. Had to sell my 6D and lenses last year due to the pandemic and can now reinvest in newer technology. Kudos and thanks!
Just got my m50 and very excited and happy found your tutorials. I do drone filming but want to start adding more movie style brolls.. i think that may engage more audience specially with these tips.. thanks a lot
I was planning on buying an M50 and I had some doubts initially. This video has literally answered each and every single question I had regarding the capabilities of the M50 to create cinematic videos. I was not aware we can control so many aspects of the footage and the instructions and presentation in this video were clear and simple. I really appreciate content creators like you who help people like me grow! Subscribed and I'll keep an eye on the upcoming videos. I'm off to watching your videos about color grading and using ND filters :)
I am a Newbie with an M50 mk2 in hand. I paid for a course somewhere else but watch your content more. Easy to listen to and absorb, very well explained in your easy manner. Well done mate and thank you very much.
Thank you so much for this video, I bought the M50 and then I saw that a lot of photographers are saying this cam is good for beginners and I was struggling to return it back until I saw this video, you gave me hope that I can move forward to become a professional photographer with this camera and make professional material using it. Thanks a lot!
Outstanding videos! Thank you. We are a small tour operator specialising in Italy offering ski and e-Bike trips. We have decided to focus our 'content marketing' on TH-cam. We bought an M50, a GoPro and a small drone to make our own videos. Your tutorials are extremely valuable to us as we begin this journey! Thank you!
I rarely leave comments on TH-cam but you are such an incredible teacher but I find myself here writing something. You have a very cool way of giving people lots of information that is important in a very very relaxed way. Keep doing what you’re doing because you’re doing it ridiculously well. Happy holidays and thank you for all the content and help
Hi just to say that you're so clear with all the explainations, and it helps me practicing my english and my skills to make better videos, thanks a lot from France
I have sifted through quite a few M50 & Sony 6400 and have been going through a mental battle lol! I have finally decided even with some of its issues, I will be purchasing the M50 for vlogging, streaming and shorts. Thank you, Your videos help put this camera over the top for me.
Omg thank you so much for this review. I got my camera a few weeks ago and have been disappointed in my content cause I had no idea on how to set it up or navigate it. I looked at other videos and articles and was still confused. You are a germ these videos are well organized, in depth and touches on all needed points. I can't believe anyone had the audacity to thumb this down.
As a life long musician, film is new to me. With the world as it is film is a must. Picked up a M50 and have found your channel to be easily one of the best tutorials both in explanations and quality. Not sure why so many experts produce subpar video...... Best for me is I know your location shots as well as anyplace on earth. The Lower Lake Doan brook area is my neighborhood too. Been logging miles as a runner, hiker, cyclist for my entire life around here. These days I am in a wheelchair. You might see me out on the paths with my M50 this summer. I was supposed to play music for the Nature Center plant sale, but of course it was canceled. Keep up the good work. Thanks.
I am watching your channel several weeks ago and I decided to buy the M50, I am new to photography and video, but I have learned a lot with your channel, greetings from Lima Peru !!

God send! I'm making my first camera purchase and have decided on the Canon M50. Basically ill be using it for photo, vlogging, TH-cam tutorials, live streaming, and music videos. So much info in this video, gained a new subscriber!!
CONGRATS on the camera and welcome to the channel. So glad the videos are helpful. Don't forget part 1: th-cam.com/video/Hj_QrxcsXYg/w-d-xo.html and if you're looking for lenses, these are good options: th-cam.com/video/uORT1dfeS0M/w-d-xo.html Let me know if you have any questions.
Excellent video! I couldn't explain what the "noise" was, and I was ready to return the M50 that I just received. I described it as distortion/fuzziness. I thought it was a camera issue, but when you explained about the ISO settings etc. and showed the example, it made it very clear what the issue was. Thanks for explaining it so clearly. Your tone and pace, while teaching is exemplary. New sub!
I finally bought a Canon eos 250D, after watching this tutorial i found lots of useful settings i was looking for! A massive thanks with all of my heart! And thanks for the flat profile suggestion, I was actually having a look on how to obtain that :). I love it!
Sublime explanation of many complicated things. Kudos. Of course you need to do a dedicated video on lighting - the key concepts - and their effects. All power to you. Many thanks.
I love how this is all laid out and explained. I will be trying it out on my next video. I do almost all outdoor videos in varying weather and lighting so will have to see how it goes. Wish I could afford those other lenses but will have to do with the one it came with for now.
Mate, I have just discovered your channel and absolutely love it. Your knowledge, presentation and on camera demeanor is flawless. Cannot rate you enough. You rock! Thank you again. Subscribed :)
Hi there! Thanks a million! You are a great teacher. It was very easy to follow along. Are there any videos you guys have put all these settings into practice and a newbie like e can follow along? Thanks again!
Thank you for this 2 part set. I just bought the m50 to get back into cinemaphotography until I can afford a bmpcc 4k or 6k. This was really helpful in acquainting me with my new camera.
Very valuable and easy to follow content like in all of your videos. Thanks so much! I just got my M50 and you channel is the best and time effective way to learn. Keep up the great work!

I hope this part 2 of the M50 cinematic series was helpful. I love how powerful this camera is for the price. A lot of people dismiss it as a beginner camera, but I think the results are pretty good. Let me know what you think!! Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏
This shows me how much I have to learn! Thanks. In the future you might want to do more of a class room type video. You teach F stop then give a suggestion of how to go take that video using that function. Then iso, then go take a video. I understand what your saying, but it a little over whelming of how to remember where everything is on the camera and how to use it. At the same time very helpful video.
Thank you so much. You really have a way of teaching and explaining that makes learning my camera easier. I'm trying to learn to vlog using the proper settings. I really have been afraid of my camera! Even though it is beginner - there's so much to learn. I'm trying to get away from my iPhone and learn to use it instead. So thank you b/c I really don't have much knowledge of photography.
Just purchased the M 50 Mark 2 to upgrade my videos and glad to have found your channel. I started with a GoPro 7 Black and found that to work just fine for most of my videos. Wanting to have another camera in production I finally picked the Canon based upon many of the comparison videos I found on you-tube. Thank you for making your videos, especially on the m 50 in a style that captures my interest. Your presentations answers many questions I have in my camera progression.
man..., I had written a long comment and touched something by accident and went to the next video and lost everything. Great review, Sagi. Canon M50, as you said is an entry camera level yet, you are showing the results and all the tricks we can do to experience the best outcome. Awesome job! Also, as you once told me, it's a light camera, very portable. I would love to see a video explaining the use of lights! Thank you very much!
Having just bought an M50, this content (and that in part 1) is gold. Thank you. It’s great having the information that I somewhat know, applied directly to the camera I have. Great content, well made.
I would love to see a video on lighting your scenes. I am looking to set up some lighting for streaming in the future, and have found all your other videos to be super helpful. Thanks so much.
I did a diploma in Film and I feel like I could have saved $45,000 and just watched your videos. Thanks for the awesome content!

God send! I'm making my first camera purchase and have decided on the Canon M50. Basically ill be using it for photo, vlogging, TH-cam tutorials, live streaming, and music videos. So much info in this
video, gained a new subscriber!!
New sub!
Great Video! I really learned that my camera can do a whole lot more than just take pictures
Super glad I was helpful Martin. Thanks for being part of the channel!
I finally bought a Canon eos 250D, after watching this tutorial i found lots of useful settings i was looking for! A massive thanks with all of my heart! And thanks for the flat profile suggestion, I was actually having a look on how to obtain that :). I love it!
CONGRATS Francesco! I'm so glad the video was helpful and that the flat color profiles were useful! Thanks for being part of the channel!
Thank you for this comprehensive explanation you gave in this video، respect!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for being part of the channel!
Sublime explanation of many complicated things. Kudos. Of course you need to do a dedicated video on lighting - the key concepts - and their effects. All power to you. Many thanks.
Appreciate the kind words and support. Will do!
I really loved your videos. It's very informative and useful. Hope to see more and more. Thank you for all your effort and information.
I love how this is all laid out and explained. I will be trying it out on my next video. I do almost all outdoor videos in varying weather and lighting so will have to see how it goes. Wish I could afford those other lenses but will have to do with the one it came with for now.
Glad I could help. Definitely stick with what you have until you need to reinvest

What's up everyone?!
Wow thanks for the tips! I have had my camera for a while now I am learning how to use it!! Thank you so much!!
So glad it was helpful!
Lighting is definitely something Id wanna see and hear talked about in future videos.
I got you John!
Thanks from Russia, this channel is true treasure!
Glad it was helpful. Yes, I’ll need another video for that. This is VERY old but has some more detail th-cam.com/video/PuE6wADvnAY/w-d-xo.html
I’m so glad I was able to help. Thank you for being part of the channel!
This is what im looking for for long time. Clear and to the point. Thank you very much and... i ask for more.:)
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and for the kind words. Thank you for joining the community 🙏
CONGRATS ON THE NEW GEAR!!! Glad the video could help!
man..., I had written a long comment and touched something by accident and went to the next video and lost everything.
Oh man!!! Appreciate you still taking the time to re-write 🙏 Always so insightful. I will work on a lighting tutorial 👊
Now I have to go home reset my camera and start over! Great Video!
Nice and calm explanation, makes me wanna try to make videos with my daughter's M6.... Thanks bro....
Super glad it was helpful - thank you for the kind words. Welcome to the channel!

Having just bought an M50, this content (and that in part 1) is gold. Thank you. It’s great having the information that I somewhat know, applied directly to the camera I have. Great content, well made.
Glad to help!
I would love to see a video on lighting your scenes. I am looking to set up some lighting for streaming in the future, and have found all your other videos to be super helpful. Thanks so much.
