Been having my M50 M2 for a little over a year and I’m here sitting through this video with my camera in my hand, learning so many new things. Great video! 💙
DUDE. Duuuuuuuude! This is ground breaking. THIS is what I have needed for so long. Thank you for making this video, you have cleared up so many of my questions.
@@MichaelStent I’m shooting a wedding tomorrow and wanted to use this camera to get b-roll. I bought this camera to do video since I heard great things about it and I was getting crappy footage so far. and then I found your video and just put in practice everything and I took some footage, edit it, and it looks amazing!!! Thank you for making this video. You have great communication skills by the way. Also, I just subscribed to your channel. Keep up the good work!!! 👍🏽😎
This was an awesome video, thanks! Traveling to Paris in a month. Going to use Canon M6 Mark II for stills and a M50 for video with a Zhiyun Crane M3 Gimbal. I was looking for easy to understand cinematic settings for the M50 and your video is the best among the many I have watched. Thank you.
so thorough, great info.. well done, I agree with the Previous comment!! you will blow up, and start making more money!! Continue on this track you got this!! I just bought my First Canon M50, as Im starting a channel, and obviously its used, as I am a beginner, but I did not expect details in Premiere, Im learning Rush, But Im going to try Premiere to follow along with you !!
I like all the segment on your video, thanks for sharing your settings, we have the same. My only comment is the stabilisation, going 20% on 60fps is too deep, I use 60fps on a 24fps timeline then slow down to only 40 to 60% and it will be fine smooth, if you add a warp it will be smoother. just want to share my experience. keep creating! great video!
Dude, thank you so much! Great video! Step by step! You even showed the menu buttons which a lot of vloggers dont do. Can you do a video on what settings you use for vlog setup including lighting? I turned on the notification bell!
The sensors are probably quite different between the two cameras, so the image will come out a bit different, but in general I would say yes! You might have to play with the contrast slider when editing to get the best results though.
Thankyou for your video, I have watched quite a few vlogs about this camera but I'm still struggling to decide on lens that I can talk into while walking but it crops the frame at 4K. I basically use Go Pro for my travel videos and Iphone 14 where I need to get a blurred background (cinematic mode) but I noted the videos to be overexposed when transferred to PC for editing. Please guide me as to what lens should I get to be able to achieve what i wanna achieve for my travel vlogs. Thankyou!!
Hey amarachi! Thanks so much. I just bought a Sony a74 full frame, great camera. Full frames generally have so many pro features, more powerful processors, bigger raw video files for better color grading, and generally better performance all around, but way more expensive and heavy for vlogging! Honestly I still use my M50 for some things, and my full frame for others :)
@@MichaelStent I’m learning so much! Just subscribed! I guess my next camera would be a full frame one! Thanks for the detailed information! I’m a growing photographer and would love connect with you on Instagram!
I'm far from an expert. You're definitely better at all camera stuff than I am but that beginning cinematic part. It panned from the right to left and then left to right a few times. It's a good idea to keep the pan consistent. Again, I'm just some small nobody who is not amazing at camera stuff in any regard. This is jist a small opinion from a small guy like myself. I mean small. I'm like 4.5 inches tall.
Разрываюсь между R10 и M6m2 😊 И хотя Canon вроде как убил систему EF-M, на её стороне по-прежнему компактность и лучшие светосильные объективы в отличие от тёмных пластмассовых поделок RF(S)
Hi Milad! You'll need to find another vid about final cut Pro editing, never used it before myself, but everything before the editing part should apply :)
Yessir! 20mp is still a great resolution for stills, good match between file size and quality. I really want to upgrade from 1080p to 4k though. New camera in 2021 for sure.
To advanced for us beginners =( no clue what you mean by the different things you called one shooting mode, video mode then movie record size idk which is what for what?
Great video - very informative. It's not mentioned in this video but I wondered whether you could help me with speed ramping. I understand slowing footage down is best shot in either 60fps or 120fps but, is there a way to speed footage up from the original without it looking 'fast-forwarded'?
Hello, I enjoyed this video a lot. My only question is whether or not there is a difference between the final results of how you got the 60fps footage interpreted versus the normal modified interpreter on premiere pro?
24fps should be what you render at, 60fps if you want to shoot something and slow it down. If you don't plan on slowing it down using a video editor, then shoot 24fps :)

Thanks so much man, appreciate it :)

Nesting the slowed down clip so you can still use warp stabilisation! Thank you for this golden nugget.
I use the M50 for most of my videos now. When I’m not flying my drone or using my GoPro for underwater shots. This video was great thanks for sharing.
Glad it could help :)
Best video out there about this topic. This channel should have 1 mil subs+

It would be so nice if you make a tutorial on how to photograph moon with canon m50 and how APS-C helps with telephoto lens ....
13:54 question.. M50 settings for B-roll 120fps cinematic hack is where on the timeline (I use Final Cut Pro) but I don’t see your hack explained

Happy birthday bro! Sims 4 nudie mods incoming?
Dear Michael, thank you for your effort. Do these explanations work for Final Cut Pro? Do you have any other videos for that?
Hi Milad! You'll need to find another vid about final cut Pro editing, never used it before myself, but everything before the editing part should apply :)
So with these setting could u record a waterfall or stream?
Absolutely :)
wait so this video was filmed with a canon m50? or antoher camera? and if so what lense did you use?
Yep! Filmed with an M50, all of it. 22mm f2.0 lens.
So you only use the m50? For client work too? If so, that is so cool!
Yessir! 20mp is still a great resolution for stills, good match between file size and quality. I really want to upgrade from 1080p to 4k though. New camera in 2021 for sure.
I don’t have the option of 60 fps in settings what do I do ?
To advanced for us beginners =( no clue what you mean by the different things you called one shooting mode, video mode then movie record size idk which is what for what?
Hi I got a question is there a way to change between frame rate fast without needing to go to menu all the time Thanks.
what song or background music are u using
Okay so when I open up Lightroom it detects my camera right away but premiere pro doesn’t. Does anyone know the solution???
What is the distance between you and your camera when shooting this talking head video?
Your video quality looks amazing!!
Hey thanks man! Probably about 1 to 1.5 meters with the 22mm f2.0 EF-M lens :)
@@MichaelStent thank you!
Change from PAL(50fps, 25fps) to NTSC to get the 60fps and 30fps.

My m50 has either 25 or 50 fps, which one to choose for recording a slow motion video..?if anyone can help
50. The more frames the better for slow motion. You can do 25 and still get slow motion, but it will not be as smooth.
Thank you for sharing the truth about cinestyle... can't stand how many people talk cinestyle up... it doesn't add extra bit rate to the footage!! 😅😅
oh, now this was money. and somehow my attention span held on.
Hello,
I enjoyed this video a lot.
My only question is whether or not there is a difference between the final results of how you got the 60fps footage interpreted versus the normal modified interpreter on premiere pro?
i love you jij

why ??? other channels say 24fps and u said 60 fps im gonna die lol
24fps should be what you render at, 60fps if you want to shoot something and slow it down. If you don't plan on slowing it down using a video editor, then shoot 24fps :)
