      Yeah, it’s all good. I get that comment on nearly every rig build cause I don’t usually add a mic. The reason is I’m always recording my audio differently, typically externally to an audio recorder or I use a Lav mic. Putting a shotgun mic on the cam isn’t useful for me cause it’s just scratch audio, which I can get internally.

    Man, I’m feeling overwhelmed. Just got an M50 with the standard lens and a telephoto. I have several vintage lenses from my old Canon 35mm film camera, including a tele-extender. At this point, I have no idea what to get for it… I do want a lens hood that can pop on any of my lenses to cut down on glare and glare. Also want some kind of rubberized protective housing cause this camera was a huge investment… but at the same time the purpose would be defeated if I got a rig for it, because the shock of a drop would be transferred directly to the camera, bypassing the protective housing. I have no idea what to get for an adapter for my vintage lenses either. I’ve seen so many of these tricked out M50 videos and I’m just totally unsure of even my first move lol. I basically plan on shooting in my studio, doing some interviews inside local stores, and also doing a couple campo excursions including night shooting.

      Get a prime lens first. I recommend the Sigma Trio (16mm ; 30mm ; 56mm). Start with the 56mm for portraits for vlogs or superwide shots get the 16mm (mind you there is a crop of 1.6X So 16mm is around the 24mm mark but don't quote me on that.) Also, get a small rig or any other cage for the camera as its plastic as you know and the metal cage will protect it from scratches and scuffs and it also allows for some insane mounting options as well. But if you plan on upgrading to another canon camera down the line get a EF-M to EF/EFS adapter with autofocus and just get yourself some EF Sigma Tameron/Canon lens that will stay with you even as you upgrade down the line if you so choose. Short version, Get a cage and some good glass.

    • @cocoscabana

      @Leo The Lion yes, I know, I always buy bright cases, for ease of finding quicker. Think of your phone. I even purchased the rubber case for my remotes. However with a camera, it's so delicate. I have found that the rubber neoprene cases, trap the smallest dust or dirt, then scratching can happen. It basically is minor protector of just that scratches. The tiniest of rough dirt, can really mess it up, especially near a button, or the mics. If useing indoors only, and no pets let's say, dust etc, maybe. You mentioned a camera bag, as I have as well, sure for a little while. I found myself, taking off the cover to clean more often, and getting edge dirt really embedded. I try to keep indoors, and only use my go pro outside. The M50 and all others have so many spaces and buttons compared to say a phone or tablet. Just my 3 cents worth...( I have 3 large dogs and live in the mountains ) so mine didn't last but 7 mos. before I just removed it for good, and clean the camera wipe down, dust lenses with icloth about 1xs a week, for prevention.

      @@israrhussainaquarius yeah, that’s a limitation of the M50, when you plug in a monitor the lcd screen goes black. You can get the settings on hdmi out, that way you can change settings easier.
      That’s a bummer, depending on the monitor you buy, sometimes they come with hdmi cables and mounts, but Atomos usually doesn’t include any accessories

    thanks for the wonderful video but i have a question...its it SAFE to connect all your devices on one D-TAP splitter.. my V-mount battery has just one D-TAP slot and i got a splitter to be able to connect other devices .. please advice me

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes! you can connect everything to a d-tap splitter, i do it all of the time. just makes sure your device can handle the 14.8v output and if it can't make sure the cable or dummy battery you're using down converts it first.

    How do you shoot the video or even a photo on the rokinon lens...just go my 35mm rokinon cine lens and the adapter but it won't shoot....?

    • @chadwin
      @chadwin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      you must turn on "RELEASE SHUTTER WITHOUT A LENS ATTACHED" or some similar setting on your camera. it's because it's a fully manual lens with no electronic connections. hope that helps!

    The canon m50 is nothing in terms of price compared to the whole rig, what is the advantage of spending all that money even on the cheaper rig and not spend a couple hundred bucks more for a 10bit color camera?? What is the point of rigging an M50 like that? 🤔
