I feel like the original devil fruits didn't necessarily have a weakness to the sea and that the weakness was a curse placed upon them after some type of betrayal

[my own spin]
"Faulty Smiles cause people to laugh uncontrollably" That shit hit me so hard. Obviously you were talking about smile fruits but I took it as a real life thing. When you put on a fake smile to make other people happy, you tend to do happy things such as laugh a lot even though that might not be how you feel, which ties back into Smile fruits.
I always just thought of them as aspects of nature bound to a soul or object. The more in tune you become with the aspect the stronger that force becomes in the world. Like electricity doesn't work on rubber but a lightning bolt will melt it yet luffy just shrugs it off.
Man I'm so glad I'm caught up to the manga and anime, when I was younger I would watch Toonami all the time and my first episode was Franky's introduction in Water 7, and I watched from there all the way to the end of Thriller Bark and they were the best, I knew that it was still going strong so a lot of the stakes that dealt with the protagonists didn't concern me too much but now that the series is about over and there's all this new information coming to light I don't know what to think, I know it's a shonen and everyone will more than likely be fine, but now I'm caught up and can't be spoiled on anything and I'm sitting waiting just like everybody else who's caught up and it's an awesome feeling because it's so great to sit and theorize with everyone what the answers to everything could mean especially after the latest chapters
Even if none of this turns out to be the way it is in the story, this was such a well put together and thorough idea I could hardly see it be done better.
Just started watching but I can already tell this is gonna slap. I have been so excited for this theory from what you’ve said during streams. Great work as always Hidden!
This is my first video of yours. The train of thought, clear and enunciated words, and research is the best I have seen out of several anime review or theory pages I have watched.
When you talk about everything having a soul or spirit, the Going Merry had its own spirit that tried to repair itself for more journeys and even conveniently travels a great distance to save its friends… We also see this with swords in particular the cursed swords which some consider more of a threat to you than your enemy, however like Merry to its crew, his sword wouldn’t cut off his arm because the sword would consider his ambition/skill be worthy of its use, the sword took Zoro as far as it could go just like Merry. Both the Merry and Zoro’s sword have rituals when they pass on, one in a Viking style the other a traditional burial. I think there is also something to be said about Whitebeard’s sword standing over his burial. And the shadow of a once great swordsman literally giving Zoro his sword. The spirit determines his ambition worthy of its use, the sword decides that it will take Zoro as far as it can go to fufil that ambition, whether it dies a long the way doesn’t matter because he was worthy of its aid.
I think it also means tools of great potential. Like swords, like ships, like anything that is cherished, even a straw hat, they have a will unlike a person. The tool accepts eventually it will break and cease to be useful. So it lives its life to the fullest, craving to be useful to the people that cherish it. And not every object is going to get this special treatment from... the supernatural world. It has to be legitimately special to someone. "A ship is born with only one promise, to carry her crew from shore to shore safely." - Frankie to Usopp
Your video left me wondering about Blackbeard and the Yami Yami No Mi. In his fight with Ace, BB claims that's that he knew the shape and abilities of all devil fruits from a book he read (Sanji was also seen reading in a flashback) and that the Yami Yami no Mi chose him much like how the Elders claim that the Nika fruit had the will to chose its host. Plus BB has appeared the same time that we are getting details about Kuma being part of a special race. What if BB is of the same special race like Kuma and was experimented on by Vegapunk during his time in the MADs Era with Judge, Queen and Caesar. BB and Kuma have similar physical features, perhaps they have the same strange body that Marco mentioned back in Marineford, but Vegapunk was perhaps evil back then and did heinous expirements on Teach and maybe sisters, thus giving the young BB the ability to absorb more then one devil fruit. This explain why Teach kept a low profile in WB's ship while searching for the Yami yami no mi, cause he was hiding from the World Government. But this same research maybe what allows Vegapunk the chance to save Kuma.
I really love these theories. I think music and light are not concepts that exclude one another since both are made up of waves, either light or sound. What I find fascinating about this is that, thinking about this further, it's rather likely that that's how Vegapunk split his soul apart. There's a mathematical formula (Fourier Transform) that lets you calculate the waves that make up a sound. That could be how Vegapunk split his soul, this mixture of emotions, into purer/more basic characters. What that also could result in would be some sort of resonance/harmony ability that allows the 6 parts of Vegapunk to fuse back into the original Vegapunk, in other words the docking Franky has always deamt of. Quick reminder that Frankies docking in thriller bark also involved 6 parts. It ultimately failed because Robin refused to dock. Foreshadowing? I think so!
i think the straw hats will learn more about them from Urogue. pretty head cannon but its wild that he is pretty much the only super nova with no major screen time no Bonney is around the crew at egghead. Hoping for some big sky reveals soon
Okay, I tried to look for some comments, old and new, and I didn't find this yet. Your theory was right! The only failure on Vegapunk's part was the color, he admitted it himself when he asked Luffy about the color of the dragon! But of course, it was really convenient that it was a failure and Vegapunk being so clever most likely was both a perfectionist and also knew that the government wouldn't care to research and look for a failed experiment... This video is amazing so far, it inspired me to draft something I looked for a long time ago; a Stardew Valley mod where you would raise and farm Devil Fruits using soul pieces from the environment... And this is exactly what I was needing, this insight on how Joy Boy would use music to gather and animate souls and imbue them into the tree in Marie Jois! I won't be talking too much about it, I don't even know if it's possible, but just writing about it in my notebook again was enough to make me happy. Thank you so much, hope you're doing well fr 💜💜💜
By the way, this wasn't talked about yet but I believe that the way Vegapunk created the Devil Fruits was by first gather Kuma's repulsion power. He mentioned something very specific when the flashback came, talking about the experiment where a person after dying lost a tiny bit of mass that would be the soul. That's how he was able to create a copy of his memory, pain, so on and so forth... But what if you used it on a dragon on Punk Hazard to gather its soul, or its 'voice', and put it into a fruit? Kuma wouldn't be there to use his power all the time, so first thing Vegapunk would do was research to replicate his power, next... Vegapunk discovered a different way to create Devil Fruits, but the Joyboy or Lunarians using music to gather the voice of inanimate things, concepts, and even wishes (such as being able to swim anywhere, my body being any weapon I imagine, I want to spin so fast I'll be able to fly) is amazing.
I think you misunderstood the thing about the plants in Marijoa. The plants are real, but the forest itself is “man-made” in the sense that they were planted there for decorative purposes.
This is a very well thought out theory, and you made and supported your points excellently. Agree or not no one can deny the hard work you put into making and supporting your theory
I love one piece theories, people talk such crazy shit and whether it’s right or wrong it very fun to listen to what very well could be 30+ minutes of lunacy
Intresting theory, I actually think alot of this in some way might prove to be correct. If you also add the fact that the strawhat itself can be found to have connections through different cultures historically to samba, sunny warm weathers and farming.
Great vid as always - love the evolution of the theory from last year. Too many references for this to all be a coincidence (obviously). I won't be shocked at all if there if we learn that you got some stuff absolutely correct with this one.
Hey, IDK if Oda is aware of this, but it fits your theory: the etymological root of Seraphim - which means "burning ones" - is the Hebrew "Serap", a word for serpent, snake, or viper, particularly venomous ones. This is used in Jewish mysticism in the draconic forms of angels. This is also related to why near eastern contemporaries of the Israelites, such as the Zoriastrian Persians, viewed them as dragon or serpent worshipers. Obviously this connection points to the serpent theme of the ssg seraphim based on lunarian DNA, as well as their affinity for fire RE King Also FYI seraphim are not the highest angels except in those angelologies based on Psuedo-Dionysus the Areopagite (Catholic) in De Coelesti Hierarchia or on Jacob Nazir (Jewish) in his Maseket Atzilut. Any other formula, such as the Zohar, Maimonides or other important Jewish mystic texts, only have them as the 3rd highest at most (in de Vidas' Reshit Chochmah). It's true that most Christian angelic theology is based on Dionysian angelology, so that's where the common trope comes from that Seraphim are the highest.
A thing to remember is the stated by oda, importance if spirals, the smile fruits are devil fruits without spirals, the have spots where spirals would be, but there are no spirals and I believe that and I'm sure you agree, spirals represent souls and or liniage factor
I love the video, would just add few more related things related to botany: - Robin has the flower fruit - giants are most likely lumberjacks because they are skilled with axes - the Tontata use land suffix - the Earth counters Enel or any electricity for that matter, so earth protects you from the gods wrath
I’m so curious what these 3 other Gods of ____ will be. Oda definitely has plans for the other three. Rain, Earth, Sun and Forest. I wish there was a video out about this that was heavily supported.
@@ReturnOfGodEnel Greenbull is definatly God of Forest, and it would be funny if he was Zoro's father lol, Sanji's father being a king and Zoro's being a God hehe. Also, Dragon is most likely Rain God (a.k.a. weather based fruit). Earth is tricky one, but I seen people saying it may be one of BB fruits. Maybe even third one, theorized to be mythical zoan as well, some kind of demon Bai-Ze who has 3 personalities/souls.
@@Masked_madness09 tough to know but I’m disappointed in green bulls character right now we will see how he would be important enough to have that fruit.
I like the idea that the redline was green. you think its possible during the war with the lunarians they deliberately set the redline on fire destroying all the greenery in the hopes it would detract the celestial dragons but they adapted hence the breathing masks
I would say no. I don’t think the lunarians would burn something that believe is sacred. It could’ve been from the fight and their fire abilities but they didn’t deliberately set fire to their forest to dissuade their attackers.
Nah why would they burn their own land. No. It’s more likely they are space suits in some symbolism that they are trying to mirror the lunarians that can breathe in space
I think the palace on Marie Geois is built on top of the scorched remains of the top of the eve tree. If there are no more new devilfruits, then maybe because people stopped being able to manifest their dreams into them 800 years ago when the green belt because the red line. (i think green belt is more likely than green line)
“Before this, have you heard of pirate ships that had trees on them.” Yes. Many European ships during the age of sail would keep citrus trees in order to prevent scurvy.
This is interesting, I did experiment with plants for science fair. The plants like happy music but when I switched to negative type music the plants were dying. I concluded that they were feeling the emotions of the music
Wish I watched this earlier I’ve just been catching up on your laugh talks lounge livestreams. Really love your content I can see how much work you put into them. They are so high quality!
also wanna add that nika df literally is only limited by its imagination, if he imagined the souls of his friends via music to then reincarnate their "dreams" into these fruits or soul/will/voice of all things it's actually completely plausible
The Green Line theory is interesting. But I think, it's not Green Line instead it's called Green Island back then. I think what happen was the World Government attached some random islands to it, make it a line, and dried out all the lands and now it became a Red Line. Afterall, Nami describe the Red Line is a group of adjoining islands, each with a different season.
I think there is one thing to note, Dragon is friends with Shaka and Shaka isn't the original Vegapunk, so I wouldn't be surprised if the one making Kuma a machine wasn't Shaka but instead the "real" vegapunk, this would also explain why his silhouette is so different in that one panel explaining what he did to Kuma comoared to Shaka
yeah silhouettes are never a good thing to judge characters appearances by especially in one piece where oda has multiple times introduced new character silhouettes just to change their look when they finally appear.
This is phenomenal theory. I love these long form theories. My theory is that the red line is made up of the moons that are no longer their. That’s why when devil fruits were made that were other worldly feeling. In addition the red line has different magnetic fields despite being one piece.
Very well put together theory.. Also if you look at the color of a snake they are usually dipicted as Green in color, then turned Red as you stated. Therefore, "The Great Serpent Soaked in Blood"..!!! Stay Blessed and Stay Safe..!!!!!
I paused at around 17:00 to say this: The staff with 2 serpents is called a caduceus and was wielded by Hermes, messenger of the Gods (as well as Hermes Trismegistus) who wears winged sandals. Hermes Trismegistus was basically regarded as a mixture of Hermes and the Egyptian god Thoth (who had the head of a bird). I feel like there would be a ton to extrapolate from that info.
Trismegistus is regarded as having been a living philosopher king. Its also been argued that Socrates is based on the legend of the Thrice Great. The reality is most likely that Socrates, Hermes, and Thoth are modeled after the Thrice Great. Either way, his treasure, his mystery, is still there for anyone willing to seek it.
Hey 🤝🏼 it's my first time on your channel and my first few seconds. Your intro is so relaxing and just feels nice. You already hooked me up. Is that how you say it "hooked me up"? 😂 I don't know anyways you work is great 🫂
I kinda want True Kuma to be the Seraph that CP0 has but I think the OG is still the OG. Egghead Island is probably the most explosive arc One Piece will ever know.
The green line theory is amazing, also there is a theory that the gorosay and Imu are Immortal, which is also the symbolized by the color green. and the green line turning into the red line, the red line being symbolized by red which also symbolizes sacrifice, danger and courage. The sacrifice being the lounarians, the danger being the first 20 kingdoms and courage is shown by sacrificing the lounarians. And the thing with the green line which is symbolized by green, green symbolizing rebirth and renewal and immortality. Rebirth being that the one piece is one peace, which would make another of your theorys come true, which could make the rebirth of the ancient kingdom. Renewal being the exact same and immortality shown as Imu and the gorosay maybe being immortal which is shown by the lack of aging of the gorosay.
I think you were onto something around 23:45. My new guess from your ideas is that the ancient kingdom or maybe it's the one piece is above fishman island but below Mariejois. Imagine the kingdom had a tree which they grew the devil fruit and their enemy wanted to destroy the tree and the kingdom, but the tree was too strong. So they blast it with Uranus, Use Pluton to cover it with the Red Line, and then control the Sea Kings with Poseidon to eradicate the location. Well the only place I know of that is always sunny, covered in land, and defended by seakings is that location. It would also fit with Luffy destroying fishman island, because he has to destroy Mariejois and the redline to uncover the place the Eve tree was planted. We see that it was never dark or night on fishman island, but they were definitely there for more than a day meaning that the tree was always carrying light down. We also know that Mariejois has the canopy while fishman island has the roots, we saw the strawhats visit the redline as well, meaning the tree itself is inside the wall; like attack on titan lol.

Sounds like some Davy Jone's heart locked away on a beach kind of shit. I like it.
I heard that Neptune cursed them because nikka betrayed him, something like that
"Faulty Smiles cause people to laugh uncontrollably" That shit hit me so hard.
What a fun theory! It's clear that you put a lot of time into the research of the theory and creation of the video.
This is my first video of yours. The train of thought, clear and enunciated words, and research is the best I have seen out of several anime review or theory pages I have watched.
When you talk about everything having a soul or spirit, the Going Merry had its own spirit that tried to repair itself for more journeys and even conveniently travels a great distance to save its friends…
We also see this with swords in particular the cursed swords which some consider more of a threat to you than your enemy, however like Merry to its crew, his sword wouldn’t cut off his arm because the sword would consider his ambition/skill be worthy of its use, the sword took Zoro as far as it could go just like Merry.
"A ship is born with only one promise, to carry her crew from shore to shore safely." - Frankie to Usopp
dude you were on the money about some things in the latest chapter :0
I think so!
Loving that you caught the color gag!
I’m REALLLLYYYY liking this dope theory
Music and dance are the 2 purest forms self expression.
Bro only makes "greatest theories ever" .. but damn, ur videos and theories are actually reallllllyyyy cool, I'm binging them lol
i think the straw hats will learn more about them from Urogue. pretty head cannon but its wild that he is pretty much the only super nova with no major screen time no Bonney is around the crew at egghead.
Thank you so much, hope you're doing well fr
💜💜💜
I watched this video 3 times now to make sure I caught everything. So much information but it ties everything together perfectly! Best video yet
13:34 Yes. It's a well-known historical fact that many ships, not just pirates, would grow fruits on their ships to avoid scurvy on long voyages.
By far the most underrated one piece channel on TH-cam. I only watch information videos on TH-cam but you drop too many bangers
u earned this sub ...at one point i was gonna stop it because i dont wanna mess with my enjoyment of onepeice n this def does ,, well done
You’re the goat man, mindblown once again
I think you misunderstood the thing about the plants in Marijoa. The plants are real, but the forest itself is “man-made” in the sense that they were planted there for decorative purposes.
That’s a fair point!
I love that u are back to the original aesthetic
The straw hat is not only made from straws, aka plants, but it's also the headwear of choice for many farmers that stay out in the sun all day.
This is a very well thought out theory, and you made and supported your points excellently. Agree or not no one can deny the hard work you put into making and supporting your theory
I can get lost in this & Dak’s videos for hours. In fact, I do.
honestly this and parvisions pluton theory actually work really well together
Oda pretty much channels Arthus C. Clarke, "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".
The vibes are immaculate on this channel
45:21 This aged beautifully
Been waiting for this vid since I heard you and Parvision going back and forth!!!
THE funniest thing is we know now why Momos is a failure thanks to the spoilers. Its due to its color not being blue like Kaidos. THATS IT
SUUUPPEERRR!!!! Most sensible & believable theory I have ever watched. And I very much love your style of video making.
Franky sucks
Kuma was using haki in the newest chapter, bro’s prediction was 100% accurate
I.. I feel like i've gotten spoiled...
Frickin great video man, thanks for that. You are brilliant ✨️
A song of souls theory makes so much more sense than vegapunk's hypothesis on devil fruit theory! Such good insights!
Obviously this connection points to the serpent theme of the ssg seraphim based on lunarian DNA, as well as their affinity for fire RE King
Also FYI seraphim are not the highest angels except in those angelologies based on Psuedo-Dionysus the Areopagite (Catholic) in De Coelesti Hierarchia or on Jacob Nazir (Jewish) in his Maseket Atzilut.
Wow, what a dope intro, love it!
Looking forward to the rest of the theory
A thing to remember is the stated by oda, importance if spirals, the smile fruits are devil fruits without spirals, the have spots where spirals would be, but there are no spirals and I believe that and I'm sure you agree, spirals represent souls and or liniage factor
Infinite spirals? Gear Infinity soon! Get ready for it
I love the video, would just add few more related things related to botany:
- Robin has the flower fruit
- giants are most likely lumberjacks because they are skilled with axes
- the Tontata use land suffix
- the Earth counters Enel or any electricity for that matter, so earth protects you from the gods wrath
In Skypia there was mentioning of God of Earth (and 3 others including Sun God)
@@ReturnOfGodEnel also Zoro's father: tree, Zoro: mosshead 😭😭
@@Masked_madness09 tough to know but I’m disappointed in green bulls character right now we will see how he would be important enough to have that fruit.
I like the idea that the redline was green. you think its possible during the war with the lunarians they deliberately set the redline on fire destroying all the greenery in the hopes it would detract the celestial dragons but they adapted hence the breathing masks
I would say no. I don’t think the lunarians would burn something that believe is sacred. It could’ve been from the fight and their fire abilities but they didn’t deliberately set fire to their forest to dissuade their attackers.
Probably sacred*
Nah why would they burn their own land. No. It’s more likely they are space suits in some symbolism that they are trying to mirror the lunarians that can breathe in space
Keeping the music alive. You filthy monster of a guy. 🖤💫🙌
Good call on Vegapunk’s “failure”
You had me setting down think about the past 18 ish years i have been watching this show and how this lowkey make since, plus the IMU video as well 🤯
also wanna add that nika df literally is only limited by its imagination, if he imagined the souls of his friends via music to then reincarnate their "dreams" into these fruits or soul/will/voice of all things it's actually completely plausible
Many pirates ship's, and ships in general used to carry trees though.. of some citrus fruits to defend against scurvy 😊
I just started the video and before i go ahead i have to say that that is the best intro to a one piece theory I've seen. Bravo my guy!
Just found your channel today, and I gotta say, these theory videos are getting my quite rigid. Very good work, keep it up man.
So happy to see this getting so much attention and engagement. Great video, you really expanded the theory!
the intros to all of these videos fill me with so much peace. thank you
The Green Line theory is interesting. But I think, it's not Green Line instead it's called Green Island back then. I think what happen was the World Government attached some random islands to it, make it a line, and dried out all the lands and now it became a Red Line. Afterall, Nami describe the Red Line is a group of adjoining islands, each with a different season.
I love this theory a lot. The emphasis on souls feels incredibly intentional by Oda. Why else did he make us cry over a boat in Enies Lobby?
what an amazing theory/video the quality and passion you put into you’re videos is so awesome keep up the amazing work hidden!
In addition the red line has different magnetic fields despite being one piece.
haven’t even started the video but if it’s a hidden island upload i already know it’s gonna be a banger
Most underrated One Piece channel on TH-cam. Such a good theory, can't wait to see in at all pan out in the manga 🙌
Very well put together theory.. Also if you look at the color of a snake they are usually dipicted as Green in color, then turned Red as you stated. Therefore, "The Great Serpent Soaked in Blood"..!!! Stay Blessed and Stay Safe..!!!!!
I paused at around 17:00 to say this:
The staff with 2 serpents is called a caduceus and was wielded by Hermes, messenger of the Gods (as well as Hermes Trismegistus) who wears winged sandals.
Never been more excited to watch a 1 hour long video
Here from That One Piece Talk, Loved the video! This has to be one of the best theories out there!
Give this man a medal for ignoring youtube algo to educate us on this theory.
To be fair this video appeared twice in my recommended
Im starting to realize that this is the greatest story ever written 🙌
Hey 🤝🏼 it's my first time on your channel and my first few seconds. Your intro is so relaxing and just feels nice. You already hooked me up. Is that how you say it "hooked me up"? 😂 I don't know anyways you work is great 🫂
Thank you for delivering well thought out ideas, your relaxed delivery and style is a blessing. Would love to see you and Tekking do some combo work
I kinda want True Kuma to be the Seraph that CP0 has but I think the OG is still the OG.
This is such a great theory, the amount of dots connected actually blew my mind 😮 Great job on this 👏
ngl I liked, subbed, and am now commenting just from the intro alone! I love your music choices, too :D Looking forward to hearing your theory!
