Super interesting theory and I actually have a theory on shanks if something like this pans out. Shanks often warns people about Blackbeard someone who believes in dreams but doesn’t sleep so imu cannot take them making him a direct threat to the peace in the world. Also no member of the red hair pirates have a devil fruit the one thing that opposes the system. In contrast to the Blackbeard pirates where all major members have devil fruits. I believe that shanks was given the choice of freedom or peace and chose peace. However shanks stole the Nika fruit, one of the most powerful devil fruits, from the government in order to give someone(Luffy) the chance to make a different decision than he did. I think that shanks will be Luffy’s finale antagonist before the straw hats can make it to laughtale, because if luffy can defeat shanks then shanks decision was wrong but if he doesn’t then shanks will know he chose right. So I think that shanks represents peace but stagnation, Blackbeard represents freedom but chaos, and Luffy represents the best of both worlds. Great video. ☕ Glad to see Usamaru Furuya's work get a highlight like this. His art style can be off putting, but he plays with some very interesting concepts, especially in his shorter works. For The Music of Marie I'd recommend reading the fan translation, because the One Peace books translation (while not bad) is kinda dull.
Thanks Phantom! I agree on all fronts, but that being said I like both translations for different reasons. Great manga overall though, was a really fun read!
your voice is very engaging yet relaxing, which a lot of youtubers don’t always get to achieve. your pace of speech is really good and your delivery of lines always hit the mark. it’s really impressive.
So it sounds like you’re saying Imu is using the dreams of people to power the massive computer/ultimate power source. And maybe all living things are connected to the computer? Something along those lines. Maybe Kuma needed to become a robot to break free from the connection between life and the ultimate power. He might have an important mission to execute. Also, maybe the straw hat is like a direct antenna to the computer. having the nika fruit and the hat worked in tandem to allow Luffy become JoyBoy. Maybe Luffy is the true heir to the source of power and it was stolen from him. I’m high as well. Great theory!
To add credence to the theory: In Bink’s Sake, the line, “Waves of gold and silver dissolve to salty spray” indicates that the sea is a sort of treasure. Now, in Ed 1 of the One Piece anime, the song is literally called “Memories”, and in the video, the Strawhats are staring at the sea, which has a golden shine to it, due to the rays of the sun. The name and video of the Ed leads me to believe that the sea contains or gives memories, which are a treasure.ドン!! Additionally, in “Vicky the Viking” episode 22, the show that Oda was inspired by, the whole episode centers around the chief of the village having a treasure which everyone is interested in… at the end of the episode the treasure chest is opened, and it is revealed that the treasure chest was full of the chief’s memorabilia, and items which had sentimental value to him. So, think of for example, Zoro’s katanas, or Luffy’s strawhat type beat. So, the memories the items are associated with are his treasure.ドン!! (This is a theory from reddit) Memories/dreams = treasure (maybe the sea is also the national treasure of Mariejois) ドン!! The third eye is a metaphor for the mind’s internal eye, the eye we see from in dreams, fantasies, and when we imagine, and as mentioned in the video, the eye of Horus represents each of the senses, and each of the senses are gateways for memories to be gained... Memories are that which dreams are composed of- that which stories are composed of- that which the One Piece is.ドン!! The One Piece treasure is the story, “One Piece”, the daydream of Eiichiro Oda, seen through his third eye, the narrator of the story. ドン!!!
Dude thank you for exposing me to this gem of a manga. It was such a blast to read while finding multitudes of connections to One Piece. And not only that, but the manga itself is really well done from its art, the plot, the imagery, etc. Also I noticed that the Chapel, aka the summation of everyone's wisdom, as Pipi calls it is scarily similar to Vegapunk Records which is meant to store everyone's knowledge. The bottom of the Chapel has a sharp triangle shaped pattern much like the pattern of the cracked egg surrounding Vegapunk Records.
Imu intentionally sinking the world and for how vegapunk successfully tricked the WG even though Imu supposedly can read dreams is because vegapunk specifically stores his knowledge on punk records he created which means no information from him ever reach Imu
The point you made about the One Piece being a choice and Luffy being the only one to make both choices makes sense, cause Roger said something about him being too early, that he wasn't the one supposed to make it there, or something like that.
I kind of second this. Roger said he was there too early. The correct time was when JoyBoy would return, right now. I think the first JoyBoy left behind the One Piece to his next incarnation to make them make the decision after Imu has had the time to rule for a while
Awesome fucking video. Usually farfetched theories get me thinking a little bit but with the comparisons to the other manga and all the research, this has got me in critical thinking mode and I love the creativity that brings out. Keep up the awesome content and thanks for putting in so much work to bring these ideas to life!
The punk records is OUR Akashic Library. Oda is DEFINITELY a fellow conspiracy theorest. Extremely intelligent and so are you sir. Oda is basically in a very subtle subtle way showing us all how our reality & world actually operates.
Loved the theory. that relation to Music of Marie is so wild, it really does feel like oda pulled from it, wouldnt bother me though. Video was well worth the wait as always.
Thanks A Mac! Was cookin this up for a while brotha, read Music of Marie for the first time about a month ago and ever since I've been trying to put this all together. Thanks for watching, makes all the hard work well worth it.
Probably the best One Piece production I've seen on TH-cam! I feel in awe and at peace at the same time. Sent the video to my mom, which doesn't read manga, watch anime, or anything of that sort, and even she couldn't stop watching. Especially, the Song of Mary stuff left a deep impression.
Really good humor throughout the video! And a great far-reaching idea. Never heard of The Music of Marie but it definitely seems to correlate to One Piece. It would be interesting if this old Manga actually inspired Oda :o
Imma be honest, I would have turned the key. Freedom is nice and all, but a blithe peaceful solution made from those who were so much more advanced and perhaps more culturally mature or wise sounds like a fond enough place to stay and find happiness in.
I prefer the old bartender model, not hating on this one though. The bar setting is for sure better! But the old mysterious bartender just fit the vibe more Imo. And of course, giving the vid a like and comment as well as watching it all for support my guy
WOW. You outdid yourself again. Such a fresh new take on your videos, going a little more light an vague with the theory but still such a cool concept. And the music of Mary reference ist mind blowing. Man I hope one of your theories hits the spot and Oda one day acknowledges everyone that puts out fantastic theories like yours. Lots of love. Your videos are always great entertainment and food for the mind
Absolutely love your theories. Saw your devil fruit one and my jaw hit the floor had to watch it several times. Now with this one you outdone yourself once again.
One thing i'd like to mention is that Vegapunk is most probably not modelled after Einstein. He most definitely is inspired by Nikola Tesla. The creation of worldwide sustainable energy was tesla's dream, he even believed that the ancient pyramids were such conducters and built a prototype of it himself. But guess who tore it down and stole all his research? The government. I think Oda is most likely himself a pretty big conspiracy theorist as a lot of what i see in these theories ties to conspiracies such as a great flood cleansing, the younger drias (void period), atlantis etc. I think an avenue for theorists such as yourself should dive into these theories, i bet it would help solve these constant gaps in our current one piece knowledge!
People have a trope in story telling where the creator floods the world to limit humanity because they have “lost the way” this can be seen in classics like Mega Man Legends and The Bible
Although idk how one piece will end but what a beautiful and well put together theory. I’m sad you backed out at the end with the “I like the other one” comment it was good don’t back down
Great theory as usual. Imu (obviously related to umi "the sea") is one of the greatest mysteries left in One Piece, and the best thing is we get to find out the truth very soon. The final saga is PEAK!!!
I genuinely thought that no one could possibly connect Matrix to One Piece yet your theory is engaging enough to add Matrix as a reference to your theory.
Just thought while watching this, i dont know how to connect but could Roger's mystery sickness be because of he's basically the biggest DREAMER of his time? And Imu got something to do about it during his voyage in the Sea
Well considering oda hinted that the one piece story is a post apolocyptics story, i think it can be a matrix like story Where humans or specifically ancient kingdom created a artificial human / imu with freedom to think for themself who turn against them and created world government for making illusionary peace. Or myb imu is just like ultron, keeping peace, which was his order.
You make the best quality one piece videos i have ever seen... you definitely need more credit. I know this channel will blow up even more man. Keep doing what you are doing
Well if we are reaching into the dreams / post apocalyptic territory you might as well mention the plot of Final Fantasy X. -Ancient highly advanced civilizations at war -religion / government that covers up the past and brands technology as evil and shuns people who want to discover more -protagonist turns out to be powered by dreams of ancient beings -said beings have a trademark hymn which is essential in defeating the big bad -the cyclical theme is also present with Sin always reappearing, the only known method of defeating him a "high summoning" which is basically an awakening So the post apocalyptic plot twist is not that uncommon in fiction.
I think you are seriously on to something with this theory. Well presented and thought out in its entirety. There are few things I would object to. Excellent. 👏
I love your videos. The background facts to the eye of Horus are so freakin cool. Thanks for research and telling us. Actually I want to post the part of the video where you explain it. And mention you with a link to this video and tagging
The fact that you’ve hit so many things I’ve thought about for this series makes me believe this IS the answer!!! Also if this isn’t the answer then you just created a whole new great series! 👏🏽🎉
Imu's arms and shoulders are oddly placed for a normally proportioned one piece human. They do look just like the Space Pirates that were warring with the automatons Enel ran into on the moon.
Mother nature actually being a network within the ocean invented by the ancient Kingdom is a crazy good idea 🔥🔥..So as you mentioned the curse by mother nature would actually be because of the hate that people can actually fight against imu/WG.. It never made sense to me why the ground and air wouldn't hurt devil fruit users as well if it was really to be an effective curse.. Basically one piece/peace is Luffy given the same choice Neo did in matrix revolution
I would love for Imu to be a character that we've known. A character that goes out into the world and interacts with the story just to have something to do. Would make it a much better reveal imo
@@TheHiddenIsland- haha I loved this idea so much that I've been drawing daily goofy Imus since^^ Never found such a convincing theory afterwards though, but I'll keep trying :)
This makes sense if you think about what Roger said when he found Laughtale. They found the one piece too early. I think he understood that it wasn't his choice to make, to turn or not turn the key.
the Punk arc is a microcosmos for mariejoa the same way Skypea was a microcosmos for intorducing the WG. Egghead island is the most technologically advanced place in the world, is an intorduction to Mariejoa. Where they consider "travellators" (outdoors threadmills) "advanced technology", but under that is just slaves working to death. It's Oda's equal but opposite thing again.
Man, another banger! Your content keeps getting better and better, visually, in terms of ideas, and now with more jokes that add a lot of character. By far the most well thought out and believable theory about Imu I’ve seen so far, very eye opening even 😉 Great work Hidden
Great theory man as always. I really like the idea of the power source tying into everything with dreams, I think it has a lot of thematic resonance. If that's what's up too it makes perfect sense why the fighting happening too IMO which I've been trying to reconcile. If there weren't enough dreams for true power for all maybe that plays a role in it. It would mean the Ancient Kingdom themselves were too early, just like Roger, and then Luffy being the one to usher in the Romance Dawn, a world of idealistic dreamers, naturally just solves so many questions we have as to how it actually creates lasting peace.
Tying it back to dream also fits as to why the machine activates during Fishmen oppression. The machine is fueled by Dreams, only this time instead of love and compassion, it's fueled by hatred and anger. And the reason why there's only one machine that's activated is because only Fishmen tribes that hoped and dreamed
That would make sense why the ideology’s of the ancient kingdom would be so dangerous, if they awakened and people started dreaming it, it would spread all over
Holy shit what an interesting idea for the one piece. Just imagining one piece similar to the world of Marie blows my mind! The elevator down to Marie’s brain reminds me so much of the hole in Enie’s lobby! Incredible theory and also love the blend of comedy mixed in had me laughing out loud at 5 am!
When there are too many coincidences, it’s almost certainly not just coincidence. Dresrosa is a microcosm of one piece. All of those people were turned into toys, and then there was this awakening when the mechanism was stopped. Vegapunks ambitions to connect everyone into one brain comes with the immediate issue of controlling people’s freedom and autonomy. Jinbe saw this and it was appropriately him as he is a crew member who had struggled to obtain freedom. We are the readers are supposed to see the shortcomings of such technologies as you suggest, looking at Vega punk replicating what he can. Luffy is the one to bring the dawn. To bring the awakening. To bring freedom, whatever the consequences. And he does it with a literal heart of laughter. This is quite different from Blackbeard who comes with a heart of destruction and war. By the end of the story, I think, dragon, Vegapunk, Blackbeard, and dark are all going to have the shortcomings of their beliefs versus actions displayed. I think he is using Luffy and his behavior and literal heart to tell you audience what he believes will bring true positive change. Not just to the world of one piece but to his world. Yeah ideas he has in regards to you how you can break free from the matrix of one’s life circumstances. Perhaps both garp and dragon will see what the other was missing through Luffy’s behavior. With a world spinning in conflict and collusion, how can people change the spiral from toxic to healthy - especially somebody living in a place where there’s hard restrictions for peoples safety. I think this is the story Oda wants to tell.

"doesnt pudding always come in a cup"....im fucking dead...
I just hit that part too 💀💀💀
💀💀 I had to pause the video and check the comments to make sure I wasn’t the only one
To add credence to the theory:
In Bink’s Sake, the line, “Waves of gold and silver dissolve to salty spray” indicates that the sea is a sort of treasure.
(This is a theory from reddit)
Memories/dreams = treasure (maybe the sea is also the national treasure of Mariejois) ドン!!
ドン!!!
the will of D = the will of dreams
Sounds good.
20:00 Free unlimited energy for everyone -> 20 kings abuse unlimited energy -> source is destroyed or restricted once Imu is in control of the world
This guy got me back into one piece theories. Definitely keep an eye out for more
Dude thank you for exposing me to this gem of a manga. The bottom of the Chapel has a sharp triangle shaped pattern much like the pattern of the cracked egg surrounding Vegapunk Records.
this makes sense considering in the recent chapters its revealed that the sea level is rising according to vegapunk 25:24
Imu intentionally sinking the world and for how vegapunk successfully tricked the WG even though Imu supposedly can read dreams is because vegapunk specifically stores his knowledge on punk records he created which means no information from him ever reach Imu
With more recent developments, the connection to the music of mariejois
The point you made about the One Piece being a choice and Luffy being the only one to make both choices makes sense, cause Roger said something about him being too early, that he wasn't the one supposed to make it there, or something like that.
I kind of second this. Roger said he was there too early. The correct time was when JoyBoy would return, right now. I think the first JoyBoy left behind the One Piece to his next incarnation to make them make the decision after Imu has had the time to rule for a while
This video was a rollercoaster. I felt like three videos in one. Really interesting stuff!
dreams being stored in the sea being the reason that devil fruit users cant swim would be a crazy explanation
Awesome fucking video. Usually farfetched theories get me thinking a little bit but with the comparisons to the other manga and all the research, this has got me in critical thinking mode and I love the creativity that brings out. Keep up the awesome content and thanks for putting in so much work to bring these ideas to life!
I’m not gonna lie your vids might be inspired but every time I see them I go through something and it’s beautiful especially this one 🙏🏽
If peoples dreams are being siphoned, it would make sense that Blackbeard is so unpredictable since he doesn’t sleep.
THE PUDDING IN A CUP JOKE IS WILD. 10/10
Especially, the Song of Mary stuff left a deep impression.
you told me you came to this conclusion with a lot of weed i instantly subscribed
Really good humor throughout the video! And a great far-reaching idea. Never heard of The Music of Marie but it definitely seems to correlate to One Piece. It would be interesting if this old Manga actually inspired Oda :o
major thank you for the Music of Marie recommendation, that was fantastic
So good
I saw this video and felt strangely compelled to buy the manga (it wasn't cheap). What a strange, dark and wonderful story.
The way I double checked if I was subscribed after that cleanly animated intro. Wow what a treat to look at
Blackbeard doesnt sleep because if he does, his dream will go to imu and he will fail.
The existence of high-tech ancient kingdom really lead to more vast theory :)
Atlantis
Yeah, imagine that ancient kingdom ruins deep under the sea...
@@Adi-bo5dopyramid acts like receiver of energy from the aether. Free energy is all around us, we just are not able to use it properly yet
People have a trope in story telling where the creator floods the world to limit humanity because they have “lost the way” this can be seen in classics like Mega Man Legends and The Bible
Goat of TH-cam theory videos
Although idk how one piece will end but what a beautiful and well put together theory. I’m sad you backed out at the end with the “I like the other one” comment it was good don’t back down
Great theory as usual. Imu (obviously related to umi "the sea") is one of the greatest mysteries left in One Piece, and the best thing is we get to find out the truth very soon. The final saga is PEAK!!!
Oda after watching this theory
Oda: Guys plan D this dude exposed ur shit were going OVERTIME to revise the story! F@&+ this dude!!! 🤣
Well considering oda hinted that the one piece story is a post apolocyptics story, i think it can be a matrix like story
Where humans or specifically ancient kingdom created a artificial human / imu with freedom to think for themself who turn against them and created world government for making illusionary peace.
Or myb imu is just like ultron, keeping peace, which was his order.
You make the best quality one piece videos i have ever seen... you definitely need more credit. I know this channel will blow up even more man. Keep doing what you are doing
so the reason blackbeard never sleeps is because he knows his dreams are being fed to something controlling everyone
Music of Marie looks amazing and I feel like it inspired many media looking at the themes and morals. Cool theory bro.
Well if we are reaching into the dreams / post apocalyptic territory you might as well mention the plot of Final Fantasy X.
-Ancient highly advanced civilizations at war
-religion / government that covers up the past and brands technology as evil and shuns people who want to discover more
-protagonist turns out to be powered by dreams of ancient beings
-said beings have a trademark hymn which is essential in defeating the big bad
-the cyclical theme is also present with Sin always reappearing, the only known method of defeating him a "high summoning" which is basically an awakening
So the post apocalyptic plot twist is not that uncommon in fiction.
I think you are seriously on to something with this theory. Well presented and thought out in its entirety. There are few things I would object to. Excellent. 👏
That frickin’ pudding cup joke was too notch. Glad you kept your laugh in, too.
I love your videos.
The background facts to the eye of Horus are so freakin cool. Thanks for research and telling us.
Actually I want to post the part of the video where you explain it. And mention you with a link to this video and tagging
Glad you enjoyed, go for it!
34:23 Well damn. I was expecting a link to an Eddie Bravo interview but you went hard
The fact that you’ve hit so many things I’ve thought about for this series makes me believe this IS the answer!!!
Also if this isn’t the answer then you just created a whole new great series! 👏🏽🎉
Punk records = akashik record. Where everyone human goes while they sleep to "upload" what they've done that day into the earth's energy.
Bro I fucking love you man thanks for uploading I appreciate you always I hope u notice these and feel happy frfr u deserve it
Always lurking the comments bro ✊ Appreciate hearing that a lot! Keeps me motivated no doubt
@@TheHiddenIsland- ahahah I have to bro I prolly check every few days if u upload ur presentation of one piece is refreshing and I love it man ❤
Yo, just found your channel dude. S tier analyzing and editing, keep up the good work. Just subscribed.
Pandaman?
@@lobojoe6351you could be on to something.
Awesome video as always ;)
Thanks for putting my first goofy Imu (shanks and Blackbeard under the trenchcoat) :D
Yooooo!!!!!! Brilliant idea bro hahaha
@@TheHiddenIsland- haha I loved this idea so much that I've been drawing daily goofy Imus since^^ Never found such a convincing theory afterwards though, but I'll keep trying :)
13:20 I liked and subscribed because I didn't see it coming...needed that third eye
By far the most well thought out and believable theory about Imu I’ve seen so far, very eye opening even 😉 Great work Hidden
i swear your beautiful intro animation is like a reminder to leave a like for me, its just so nice and serene
the quality of your videos and commentary have gotten so much better man! really feels like you're finding your own groove (or is it grove? idk)
I just read this and damn that ending was a bit of a twist, but made sense when I think about the various clues given throughout the story.
The Will of D is the Will of Dreams, the ancestors were the Dream Pirates! Awesome video!
This video is underappreciated
Banger as always Hidden! - SayOtter
based on what is happening on the manga right now, the gorosei apears more like "nightmares" than dreams... just saiyng
That would make sense why the ideology’s of the ancient kingdom would be so dangerous, if they awakened and people started dreaming it, it would spread all over
This was so beautiful, thank you for this vid 🥹💞
Imagine joking with pudding about pudding cups, secretly knowing how dark the jokes actually are lol
