I had to chime in since i watched both this episode and Video Bob's on his channel. There is a HUGE difference between these two men. Gary is a true gentleman who has vast amounts of knowledge about the restoration of these fine automobiles. Bob is just a wealthy man who is looking for help to fix another one of his cars in his collection. Gary was trying to give Bob valuable information only to have Bob interrupt him repeatedly which shows he is NOT listening. He just wants Gary to do all the work but doesn't want to learn anything about the procedure. Honestly, Gary was much more of a true professional that i would have been if i was in his shoes.
Gary, this was a very good video. Cause you made him talk about his life on things he never talked about. Honestly, you are a very good interviewer. Interesting to hear what Bob said about the pop up lights on the Knight Rider car oftern don't work on Pontiacs. I own a Lotus Elan M100, and GM owned Lotus at the time. The same headlight motor lifters are fitted to the M100 as the Pontiac. The nylon gears in the lifters breakdown and turn to dust over time. Repair kits are available from SJ Sports cars. Great episode!

I had an eclectic friend that bought the same Cadillac hearse President Kennedy was carried in. I swear that thing was cursed! He always brought it to me to fix, and if it could go wrong it did!
I think ultimately Bob would be happier with his Corniche if he does things the way you would have them done, no half measures etc. This car is well worth spending $20-30k. A Corniche convertible for $35-45k is not bad. I would leave the car the original color, but very highly polished.
Bob is the kind of guy dodgy garage owners dream off, a bit of money, lack of patience, low skills and a half decent motor that needs work. I hope you told him to get the white car away from the goons telling him petrol was water. I enjoyed the film and think Bob wanted your help, but was too proud to ask directly. When the Porsche is finally finished why not get involved in this one, you could do it standing on your head and do a very nice man a great favour in the process. By the way I am the guy I described up top, still cannot find a garage to define what's wrong with my R129 roof, but all want to charge me to educate themselves! Looks like I will be in the CLS at the Lygon in a few weeks! Oh well the weather is hardly convertible weather over here!
Have you tried the hood relay? I think there’s the same relay under one of your seats if I remember rightly, that you could swap over to test if it is as I think they’re quite pricey. Frustrating isn’t it? Regards

You have to find the right person to work on your cars integrity is everything, and building on that relationship, find the right mechanic and take care of him $ and he'll look after your car take him coffee and doughnuts or bacon sarnies
Bob needs to quit being cheap on this car. Fix it right or sell it. I've watched all of Bob's videos on this RR. He doesn't want to fix the top.He doesn't want to fix the A.C. And he wants to paint the beautiful wood black.. which bothers me the least. But it seems he doesn't want to spend the money. His biggest worry seems to be the exhaust.... Which is the cheap fix. Get it done, Bob!!
