Love it when Jay hosts the Ring Brothers. Just a couple of Wisconsin knuckleheads and a Massachusetts car nut hanging out. Nobody trying to out-cool anyone, nobody trying to impress anyone with suspect facts. Just a bunch of guys having a good time. And the fact that these guys produce such high quality one-offs just makes it perfect.
*Great interview, the straight head screws would drive me crazy.*
I like the fact that the Ring Brothers' cars are about pushing the imagination and having fun with a project-- they're not involved in playing the tedious and simple-minded, dumb status game that I've never been able to understand, leaves me cold. Jay too, with his fascinating car collection chosen out of a genuine interest and enthusiasm, and including some wonderful oddball mechanical creations that are more of an adventure than a form of transport. :0)
Seriously these guys are great.
@@williamr3840 Love Jay's collection--totally interest-built, not trying to impress anyone (but still manages to do so).
As an Englishman, I salute you Ringbrothers!
I had a 61 silver cloud for about 12 years. I had it restored, everything was original and it was my daily driver, people thought I was crazy, but I’ll tell you what, it stopped traffic.
What those guys did was amazing. I wish I had the money to send mine to them. Thanks, Jay, I’m a big fan.
Make some video on TH-cam
what they did was take a literal brick from yourope that was ugly slow and stupid and use AMERICAN parts to make a real car that everyone likes OMG
@@WooarghEurope not yourope
As cool as this car is,,,there’s just something wrong about cutting up and changing the original theme of this car, like messing with the Mona Lisa
@@Wooarghshut up American
HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jay! Here’s to many many more! We love you!
He's been having the time of his life it seems. Tonight Show was just a stepping stone.
No burn out??¿?
@@bushwhacker4075 Sounds like it was a crate motor from GM not just a engine from a wrecked C6 Corvette. It's a Rolls with expensive tires and a total 1st rate paint job. Give it some respect.
@@mrwebber35 Some people think driving is all about doing burnouts.
@@paulparomayep, specially in century old RR :)
"Pardon me, would you have any Grey Poupon?" 😂
But of course.
No, but I have brown poupon😅
@@Guns_N_GearsMore like brown Poop-on.😂
Way back in 1991. th-cam.com/video/qNYs6IRdMe0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PJu5Du8Z3rZPdcwY
Instantly reminded me of Hoonigan's Slay Poupon.
For the younger folks; that "mustard" reference had to do with the Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard commercials from back in the day that featured rich people in luxury cars asking each other if they have that brand mustard. The idea was that the mustard was so super premium quality that the rich only want that.
Oh, I'm old enough to remember that commercial, well done
hahaha....I'm old and didnt get it....mustard?? WTF??. Thanks MalluF.
Ring bros made a video when they announced the vehicle, they had made up a couple jars of mustard for the video (when they lined up the new vs old). It’s a good video, worth looking for. (We built the stereo in the car, it was fun to work on, and it actually sounded quite good too). 😊
G-P got sideswiped later by the truth in advertising crowd and had to start buying some mustard seed produced in France for their product instead of Manitoba which is the world's main supplier...
This is possibly the best episode ever. Jay Leno, wearing a denim tuxedo, driving a Corvette engined Rolls Royce. Utterly fantastic.
100 percent, the coolest car ever, the supercharger makes it sound electric
It's Hilarious!
and what a beauty she is
Gotta love Americans!
That era of Rolls Royce was the best looking luxury cars ever built and they did a very fine job keeping the original look.
💯
👍🇬🇧
The Spirit of Ecstasy was definitely hanging on for dear life! I really like how the production crew lit the engine bay of this Rolls. Every minute detail was visible.
She was having the time of her life. Like that Lass from the Titanic movie. 😅
Happy birthday jay what a great way to celebrate.
Car lover power, must be.
🍀Happy birthday indeed 👀✌️
Happy birthday 🎂
@@haroldbirge6881 Walking and talking like regular person too. Sitting in a rocking chair remember his days on The Tonight Show is not for him. His birthday was yesterday but he's still to young to be President.
Best birthday ever!
Man, just tickles me that this thing exists. Well done, Ring Bros!
You know its done right when Jay hits the go peddle and he smiles like a kid. "Yee-hah!" Indeed. This one definitely passed the mustard!
almost looked like the throttle cable was directly connected to the corners of his mouth 😂 😂
😃
The perfect wedding car... Happy birthday young man!
Reminds me…my youngest brother-in-law got married back in 1988. The lead processional car was a Rolls-Royce that looked like this feature car. It sure didn’t sound like a Rolls-Royce, however. Tick, tick, tick, tick, knock, knock, knock, knock. I’m was almost surprised Rolls-Royce hadn’t placed a legal restraint on that car.
@@bcgrittner Somebody had one, that was all it took. Author did as he pleases, his master's chosen. Back in '88 that was cool.
Well, the bride certainly wouldn't be late for the wedding in this one.
Happy Birthday Jay...procedes to smash the right pedal WO
74 yrs young!!!
THIS is a proper resto-mod!
I had one like that 1990-95. People still ask me about it, they remember the car. Classic beauty.
What you driving now ?
Be ideal as wedding car, if the bride was running late 🤣
Beutiful bit of craftmanship. 2x👍
Be ideal for the groom to run away
Think I'd marry the car
Hmm...I thought it would look great at a funeral, royalty of course
This classic Rolls Royce is drop dead gorgeous! The updates including the larger wheels, "starry night" headliner, repurposed leather seats, all of the hidden mechanical & engineered bits & that phenomenal engine; priceless! BUT that cheap looking wrapped dashboard & matching door panels almost ruin the interior. Exchange those for some atjtractive real wood veneer alternates, then this car would be a Masterpiece. 💙
As the old saying goes, never judge a book by its cover. What a marvelous "inside" job!
I would have preferred exhibition grade walnut burl dashboard just like the original. The rest of this restomod is outstanding.
I think Jay does too, given he's handing out advice on how to recreate it :)
Absolutely, RR deserves nothing less than proper wood dash.
Everyone does here, many comments, I think it is worth the dough that Jay said it would cost.
Absolutely agree. Dash looks CHEAP AND NASTY.
That supercharger whine is perfect… smooth and progressive.
Very cool car.
The white was the right choice, everything you did looks factory, another rolling work of art, well done ! Happy 30th Birthday Jay !
30th...hahaha. White looks great, keeps it looking clean and dignified.
The Ring Brothers are absolute gentleman. Happy Birthday Jay!
Happy birthday, Denim Dan.
Every time I see their work on any car... I think first class without a doubt......someone is thinking how good can we make it.....these guys go way beyond that
My dad could never afford a Rolls Royce but owned a few Rolls Canardleys. ( Rolls down hills and canardley get up em).
🏆🍀😅✌️
😂th-cam.com/video/kHYiyv68q2o/w-d-xo.html
The fake wood dash was a big mistake; the only other one was maybe too much S/C whine for an RR. Fabulous build though.
Thanks for the many years of great entertainment and sharing your collection of great cars and car enthusiast friends with us. Happy birthday.
Happy Birthday Jay, Glad to still have you around. Steam car fire, Indian clothesline, and you're back on the road and making content right away. You are a great American!
Ring Brothers build the most beautiful masterpiece artwork of a vehicle every time.
Thanks, Jay, I was co-founder of Madera Concepts. Tony, Jeff and I were all Clenet Coachworks employees and started out of my old cabinet shop. The Three Amigos' we were. Tony unfortunately passed with heart disease, I parted to help save the company during very lean years and Jeff carried on in his own way. We each were craftsmen in our own regard.
🏆Jay Leno 🏆 the king of cars 🍀happy birthday 👀✌️
HAPPY BIRTHDAY my friend. Thank you for your passion for the hobby.
What a wonderful project. Respect to the new owner and to the Ring brothers for their dedication and single mindedness.
Can't believe they didn't go with the traditional wood-finish dashboard; it's such a big part of the character of these old RRs.
Only thing I don't like about this. Looks plasticky. Because it is.
Totally. The second I saw it, I was flabbergasted. Jay was obviously surprised too. Still a cool car and it handles and runs like 2024.
Looks like they used an old kitchen cutting board as a last resort.
surprising, esp considering that they stayed so true to most everything else down to the short windshield wipers... but man, I would take it.
Hello from from Australia. Shout out to ring brothers. Best hot rod builders in the world. Every car they have had on Jay Leno is just perfection and jaw dropping.
Ring Ring goes the Rolls. Looks right on the outside, but open the hood and the doors and it is a whole new vehicle. Fascinating and terrifying at the same time. Happy Happy Jay.
That interior looks faaking awful though. Completely devoid of taste. Amazing otherwise!
@@UberLummox Is the fake wood 🙁
@@UberLummox The stickers on our '70s Country Squire looked better.
@@mountainjeff YUP!
WOW! That's an automobile!❤
So love Jays enthusiasm and celebrating other enthusiasts.. The Ringbrothers will never get old.. peter pans of our time..
Thank you, Jay, for not beeping that Blaring horn! Damn, I hated that. lol.
Perfect car for a Tesla Plaid rear motor! Quiet, instant torque, you're never roadtripping it anywhere anyway.
Happy Birthday 2 the most legendary heroes still alive, kickn n going strong. 2 the legends & ur amongst them Jay Leno. All the luv 2 u sir
The most perfect restomod. Retaining every bit of the cars essence and style while giving it killer hp and modern drivability. What fantastic job!
Killer car! Not a huge fan of the dash build, but the rest of it is absolutely amazing 👍🏻. Be fun as hell to drive a 650hp old Rolls.
Great car but the woodwork should have been walnut.
Jay loves original; as he has said: a car is only original once. I would have loved to see the original wood dash.
That thing is SICK! Hell yeah!!!
The dashboard is a cop out compared to the rest of the car.
BIG time. Exactly my thought, but the whole interior looks 90s & tasteless. Amazing car but sucky interior.
@@UberLummox I especially disliked the "wood".
Yeah, they're still hot-rodders at heart
As a boy growing up in the early sixties, one of my favourite TV shows was called “Burke’s Law.” It starred actor Gene Barry, and his police captain character was driven around town in a similar chauffeur-driven Rolls Royce. Can anything be more cool than that?
Burke's Law was great silly fun. th-cam.com/video/MWffko5T_xo/w-d-xo.html
Happy birthday, Jay!
What a great car! Would've loved to see it up on the "Stertl-Koni lift", though; I'm sure the underside is as nice as the top! And I love that Mike and Jim were giggling like schoolgirls when you'd punch it!😂
Thanks to the Ring Brothers for bringing the car by, and thanks to Jay and the Crew for yet another great episode! Hoping that Mavis is doing well, too! ✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
If I won the lottery, a Ring Brothers build would be my first purchase.
"Pass the mustard" is mechanic for " do you have any grey pupon". 10 for effort, 3 for sticking the landing.
(*Poupon)
Ya, that's what it means just like straight head screw drivers and weird British wrenches those auto masters didn't have. Ya... I'm sure. Jay is like... silent.
@@mrwebber35huh
@@willtaggart This is expected. A slotted screw driver is a flat bladed screw driver (I suppose same can say either) and imperial sized sockets like 1/2 inch or 9/16 should not be so "British". I mean America still uses miles and standard sized wrenches does it not? British Standard Whitworth (BSW) American Unified Coarse (UNC) was originally based on almost the same Imperial fractions. I suppose few have ever worked on old British cars so maybe they have funny thread pitch etc. The British Standard Cycle (BSC) and Cycle Engineers' Institute (CEI) standard are different again with finer threads so I guess I stuck my foot in my mouth on that. Oh well, live and learn. Grey poupon there is a mechanics way of saying it? Only in LA I suppose.
Happy Birthday! You are my favorite person ❤ I had a photo taken eith you after your show in Eureka, California.. It is special! Wishing you peace ❤
that's very cool! I ALWAYS wanted to meet him - he's my favorite comedian - big hole in my life after he left the tonight show
The Ring brothers made an amazing build with this Rolls Royce. Beautiful and fast. Kinda crazy! But 🫶🏻 it. Thanks for sharing!
💯👊👍
C7 Z06 Engine is insane!!!!
Jay's smile every time he floors it is as genuine as it can be! What a beautiful job on a beautiful car but even more beautiful powertrain. Love it!
Happy Birthday Jay!!!
I love how Jay is driving it like a rental, and you can tell these guys are nervous lol
Happy birthday jay what a great way to celebrate
Too bad he never responds to comments😢
🍀Not true he responded to me 👀✌️
These guys are just great, so passionate and proud, yet humble. I'll be looking for more of their work!
LOVE the Ring Brothers and their works of art! Thanks, Jay!
shame they cant do an interior ,love the body its RR
An astonishing project! My word.. I am speechless... Huge love from UK x 💘
Fabulous, simply fabulous...and that includes Jay's demeanor with a glowing appearance! Stay strong and healthy Mr. Leno, we love you (and your wife)!
Well executed! Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you gentlemen!
🎉Happy birthday 🎉much luv
Thank You Jay !!!!!!
I think you can see Jay really likes this car! If I had been specifying it I would have used some variation of the 6.75 litre v8 rolls Royce engine. That engine is big enough and can be tuned so they should have done that.
Huge Congratulations Best Wishes Happy Birthday Jay!!!!!
Icon derelict's was first. I just dont like that wood finish
Yeah Happy Birthday Jay I hope you have a great time given recent issues.
Beautiful machine. Ring brothers are great builders. Thanks Jay!!!!
Happy birthday Jay!!
I think our late queen Elizabeth would have loved this!
Few years ago,I saw her leaning forward with excitement while in the back of a quickly driven range rover down a London street, with police escort 😊
Happy birthday Jay!
Jay is having the best time and it makes me smile along with him!
Thanks for all the passion and great stuff you share Jay! I have learned so much, and enjoy every minute.

I'm a simple man.. I see a SBC swap, I close the video.
Always love the Ring Bros. quality! Happy Birthday,Jay!
Looking at this car makes me want to cry! So beautiful!
Happy birthday 🍰🎂
The ICON Derelict RR is pretty awesome. Jay drove that one with Jonathan Ward.
Not to be that guy, but I much preferred the icon. The dash on this one sours me for some reason.
STUNNING!! LOVE their work!
I love the old classics. Best Episode in a long time. We need more Jay and the Ring Brothers.
They should’ve used a modern Rolls-Royce engine for this!!!!!
Nice that did the starlight headline, the new engine would have been a perfect addition to this level of build. Too much cars are all just being built with LS/LT engines
near the end they mentioned they pick power trains that they know
First comment 🎉, You guys should review the Vincent Black Shadow, It's such a wonderful & fascinating motorcycle and definitely deserves a proper review, So please guys take it into consideration 🙏🏻.
1,000 percent I’d love if Jay reviewed half cars half bikes.
Unique cars, trucks and motorcycles
😅If I remember correctly he did a few 🍀years back 👀✌️
Every week is unique. And not much ewectwic thankfully!
Jay many MANY happy returns !!! May you live long and prosper.
Beautiful long wheelbase Silver Cloud. Happy belated birthday Jay! Bless you for all the pleasure and information you have provided countless audiences throughout your career in comedy and your automotive programs.
That is an absolute gorgeous automobile...love it!!!
The screw threads are called "Whitworth" and the wrenches are labeled by the screw size as opposed to the hex size, wrenches and sockets are available here in the US, but for nuts and bolts you may have to mail order from England.
It has a great stance❤ sounds awesome!
Nice!! I also like their doorbells
Love the single headlight Rolls-Royce. Only suggestion, the Burl dashboard is much classier/ nicer.
Dream Car, for sure! Just a piece of Art, that you can't happily daily... Not to mention the ultimate sleeper that (I'm sure) slays greenlight to greenlight... Incredible. 🎉❤🤜🤛
What a wonderful build.
Those 18" wheels and the stance suit that car.
A show stopper.
Ring Brothers for the win again!!
How cool is that . And how Jay's knowledge is so deep on everything
Happy Birthday, Brother Jay! Thank you for ALL of your hard work & great videos. 🤟🏿🤟🏿
The whine of that supercharged LT reminds me of the Mercedes-Benz 540K of the '30s, specifically, the one-off 540K Streamliner! Ring Brothers, damn, fine work!
Beautiful car, as usual. Thank you, Mr. Leno.❤
Good job Rongbrothers..
Lovely car.
Priceless episode for you Jay. Just the classiest looking vehicle out there. Everyday driver makes it over the top. Thx Jay & Ring Bros
