Did you get to the bottom of what was making the front carpets damp? The a/c has drain tubes running inside the cheeks of the centre console, these get easily blocked and shoving a screw driver up them from the underside usually does the trick

I got a 1988 Rolls-Royce Cornishe if I leave the car for four days, it starts leaking brake fluid on the floor on the left-hand side but car brakes fine

To have a water pump be a tensioner/jockey wheel for a timing belt on an engine like this is such a poor design. That was a close call ! Glad you got it sorted. Great content also.
