I`ve just subscribed. I have one of these and as an ex workshop proprietor here in NZ can say these are an extremely easy car to work on being relatively simple with NO ELECTRONICS. I`d rather do a cambelt on this than most modern cars for example. The webers are simple and once set up properly give absolutely no trouble and contrary to common perception do not require constant attention. Most complicated thing is their ignition with the two distributors and 4 sets of points but even that is simple enough in reality. Of our Ferraris it is the most admired by the general public, most even prefer it to later cars which makes me laugh to myself when I think of the opinions of road testers when it came out. Very few liked the looks. I look forward to the next video

This is the perfect kind of Ferrari I'd want. Looks great from 20ft but not too nice to drive. I'd sort it mechanically, buff it, take it out only on nice days, not worry about the body/paint, and put LOTS of miles on it. I've restored a car to show quality once and never again. Too much work and then it's too valuable to risk driving. This one is great and you're not scared of leaning against it. Then again, from what I've heard, there's no more expensive Ferrari than a cheap Ferrari.

One of the best things about watching shows on the "fixing" of old cars that have expensive and or hard to find parts is that it basically forces the repairing or refurbishment of broken or worn parts. This will be a hoot, looking forward to seeing this completely dismantled rebuilt, and put back together. Happy New Year. Cheers!
I love the 308GT4(although i didn't really liked it when I sat in it in the back for a few hours to the Franchirchamps racetrack) 😅 but beautiful car, with the same doorhandles as my Fiat X1/9
Liked the video too btw. Hope to see more soon. Happy new year to you!
Send it to Yorkshire Car Restoration for rust repairs! XD
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, Edd!
Might have to give YCR a ring… Merry Christmas and a Super New Year to you too!
I used to love watching Wheeler Dealers when you were on Edd. So glad I don't have to see the used car salesman anymore.
I love the 308gt4 - and there was not enuff footage in the WD episode of you wielding the tools, Edd!! Thankfully we will see a lot more of the spanner twiddling!! And have a brilliant New Year Edd!!
Have a brilliant New Year yourself! More spanner twiddling coming right up!
Welcome back Edd please keep it up
Working on it. Next episode next week!
Belated Happy Christmas Ed, family colleagues and friends. Looking forward to the prancing horse restoration.
Thank you, there is a lot to do but we make a start on it next week so you wont have long to wait (for a change)!
Wow that Dino needs a good steam cleaning from up top & underneath then as Ed says drop the subframe & engine as whole then get the engine out onto the table for easy access to everything!
I think that’s where we are headed but I want to know it runs first!!
that would be a bad idea, im pretty sure the steam would cause all the body filler to fall off and the car might just disintegrate
Please do a full series on this restoration Edd.
Curiosity question Edd what kind and type of tea/coffee do you guys drink?
Lot's of poncey Nespresso coffee (so much less hassle than the two head machine we had in our previous workshop) and usually Yorkshire tea or something fruity if were feeling fruity!! What should we be drinking?
A good basis for a resto mod maybe forced induction modern brakes and suspension would be cool
It needs all the rubber bits replaced. Seals, belts, bushes etc.
All fluids replaced
Complete renovation of all braking system.
Likely some wiring and some if not all electrical motors.
Might need new radiator and gaskets etc, possibly a new fuel pump.
Don't go low profile tires it will be awful.
Good luck.
No body does a better job of sharing their expertise than Ed. An uncommon car may result in a few more nuggets of wise work we all love to see and can spur us on to our own little victiory's.
Bravo both of you for giving us what we want✌
Haha! Wild ! Another of John's purchases for Edd and crew to work on.
We might have to have a stronger word with him!
He has captured the full potential of what wheeler dealers could have been
great stuff Ed. I lost touch after all the brilliant Wheeler Dealers, but am so glad to have found this sort of content again. |Subscribed!
THIS is the old skool ed videos we’ve waited years for !!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well, that car is a throwback! Can't wait to see what's gonna happen this time, 15 years later.
Fingers crossed it’s all lovely jubbly!
Ed, I've been watching you since the time of the swindlers. Good luck, and let's release as much interesting content as possible!!
Good luck on that, I don't even like Ferraris, but that car deserves a new life, such a classic.
Oh man I can't wait to see you guys working on this beauty, love these Ferraris from the '80s
just from the few glimpses we got, imo it looks like its been a some benders and had a lot of rust repaired. could be the windows dont work cause the doors were so rotten the tracks are out of align and the ground wire points are barely making contact. its gonna be interesting to see how it was patched up for a quick sale many years ago
Yes, it’s a little worrying!
Por fin!!!! This is what I been waiting for!! Greetings from Costa Rica!!!
Greetings to Costa Rica! Thanks for watching!
Should be interesting, if anyone follows Number 27 and his now sold Influenzo you'll know how much trouble these cars can be!
Don't say that, I'm hoping for a reasonable ride on this as we still have lots of Range Rover to finish too!
It's exciting to see new vehicles on this channel. :)
Thought you might all like it! Range Rover will continue (we have to finish it) but we’ll mix in other stuff too!
This is going to be fun watching you get it all fixed Edd best regards Andy Allen.
Hi Andy, thanks for watching. Next episode is next week!
@@eddchina Thanks for your reply Edd I will be watching for sure best regards Andy Allen
Great to see you back! Maybe a little less of the glass half empty effect..... and a bit more glass half full. CHEERS!!
If you own a Ferrari and choose to use leak stopper, you have officially lost control of your life and are in desperate need of a conservatorship.
Perhaps that’s how John got the benefit of this (potential) bargain!
"Belt was done in '98"
Edd: Ah yes ten and some years
ED THAT WAS ALMOST 30 YEARS AGO
Edd on fire as usual!
Thanks. Smokin' through Christmas just for you guys!
Great mechanic never forgot Edd China merry Christmas and the happy New year ♥️
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you too!
Super interesting video Ed, would be great for all involved if it were to go to Smallest Cog for a respray Ha Ha!!
That would be a great idea. Good to get Richard’s take on the GT4 and how it compares to his one on TG/GT!
Prime Edd China material. I’m looking forward to watching this restoration.
Edd chasing "Cheapest *Insert vehicle name* " is a dangerous hole to go down. Just ask Hoovie.
I love the 308 gt4. Just like the first series of Lotus Esprite. Clean and elegant.
Over a decade ago this was one of their first builds on wheeler dealers. remember ed pulling out a crazy dent right on the rear corner body crease.
SO COOL, (pun intended) Thanks for this!
Glad you liked it!
QUE BUENO QUE HAYAN PUESTO TRADUCCIÓN AL ESPAÑOL.
GRACIAS.
SALUDOS DESDE CHILE.
😊😊😊😊😊
Greetings to Chile! Working on a dubbed version of all of a shows, maybe for later this year! Glad you are enjoying it!
Fantastic episode, and new project!
Thank you. Let’s hope it turns out to be a dream rather than nightmare!
Who'd have guessed the gt4 would have turned out to be such a pretty car? I'd actually prefer one over a gtb/gts now, 10 year old me, no way.
