  • Hello from Brunei!
    This has been one of the hardest and longest designs to date. Couple this with a hugely increased workload with my Job here on the Bell 212's, and this has taken this project to the new lengths. TH-cam tells me, it has been over 60 days since the last upload! Wow! But there is so much happening at this end!
    I this video you will see the highs and lows of this build.....I think we are nearly there now.
    A massive Thank You to Sebi Woelke for the Intro and Logo!
    If you fancy helping support the channel and the build we can be found here:
    PATREON
    A couple of people have asked if I have a Patreon account, I finally got around to creating one. If you fancy showing support for the videos and build, and I have switched off advertising for videos now:

      Hello from Brunei, the print times have been extreme, and my own stupid fault really. U always printed at 100% infill when the design was flawed. So now I print all promoting at 25%. The pla I have wasted is a real problem as we can't get it here. So I'm having to ration it and the prints I try. This is why there are so many different colours.

    Great effort and an awesome video to watch as always, Karl! I like these prototyping videos, because they let us see just how much work you put into the designs....just a note, for the gears, perhaps PETG would be a better choice? I know you mention ABS at the end, but PETG offers just as much strength as ABS, with none of the nasty smell/headache that induces :)

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi BK Hobby, I have actually bought several rolls of PETG, but never got around to using them. Thank you for the advice and I will give it a go! Kind regards Karl

    • @BKHobby
      @BKHobby 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@helimech8152 Great! An added benefit to PETG over ABS is that it's much less prone to warping and actually stays on the build plate! If you haven't used PETG before, here are a few tips to you started:
      -Use retraction (especially on a bowden type printer) - PETG does get a bit stringy if you don't
      -Use a cooling fan for all but the first few layers (it helps with the part strength and reduces stringing, as well)
      -Use about 70C heat bed temp - helps the part stay on without any additives
      BTW, if you have a PEI build plate, all you need to do is wash it down with a bit of IPA (rubbing alcohol) to help adhesion....but if anything, I've had my parts stick too well to PEI!
      Looking forward to your next videos!
