      I hope it all goes well, at least you can use the dedicated full size shims if you are just about to build! Kind regards Karl

    Excellent work Karl.
    I like how you incorporated the process of you building the parts in Fusion. Also the motorized unit looks awesome so far!

    Great stuff! I am about half way through printing the bits for the TQ so I do not have to worry about breaking anything down!

    Just some fun cura advice - you can either adjust only the wall speed manually or go to Extensions > Post Processing > Modify G Code > script > Change At Z > reduce speed above layer xx. Either way would improve the appearance / quality without slowing the entire print down. Copying your settings but setting my infill to 50 and my wall speed to 15 (like yours), my print time is only 5h10m. Setting a speed change to 50% at layer 31 (last layer before top layer) reduce my time to 4h40m.
    Also thanks for such a cool design! I don't fly but have been helping a friend print this and putting it together. Your measurements are so damn spot on, even accounting for the printer not printing the holes 1:1 (which there's a cura setting for: Hole expansion). Very well done man, very well done. I've only started 3d modeling and you're really doing these guys a huge service, thousands of dollars in labor creating these parts.

    • @heavy1metal
      @heavy1metal 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      long story short - no need to print infill at 30mm/s, that's just painful.

      Advice taken and thank you! Its really speeded my prints up. I took a day away from building and designing to spend watching youtube tutorials on how to get better, faster prints. The time savings are awesome. Great advice! Kind Regards Karl.

    NICE!!!! cant wait for a 747 throttle ..... xD hope you can do it in the future..... Awesome Videos

    I have build one, and the original throttles plates already fit together very nice, no problem between the two throttles. I am using prusaslicer, i think the outcome is different with your design i quess. But other part aren't fitted that well, but with some adjustments it works fine. But thanks for the update! Can't wait for the big v3.5 :D

    I'm happy with the end product now. Probably not gonna change the backplate of thrust levers for now and i dont have trim mod which is not required for me. I just need to find a way to fix the unit on my table and find a way to close the left hand cap because arduino leonardo and cables dont allow me :)

    There are no days off! LOL!
    Were you at all concerned that the throttle stem shims would induce too much friction? It looks like they didn't.

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Added friction is just a bonus, but the unit will need to be secured to the table. That mod is for another day while I concentrate on the v5 throttle. Kind Regards Karl

    Hi.
    I was noticing something you might not have thought about.
    The cut off handles in real aircraft is located right in center of the thrust levers.
    But in this model the cut off levers actually are about 3-5cm too much to the right. Or rather the thrust levers are too much to the left.
    Have you noticed that?
    Not a major thing but I noticed it when I now have printed all parts in the v3. But I see it is the same issue with this unit here.

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Seb, lets put that down to artistic license! lol.

    • @zebasd
      @zebasd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@helimech8152 True. No problems I don't mind. Just a fun thing. I'm a pilot in real life that's why I just noticed it. You know in a smoke-filled flight deck you should find things in an exact place. But don't worry I have good ventilation where I have my sim that will never happen 😁

    I saw a video where you should start using .3MF instead of .STL. It's supposed to be a superior format for your 3d print files. Thoughts?

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, I have tried 3mf, but my slicers either dont recognise the formats or errors come up with the files. So at the moment I stick with STL.

  • @lukasjensen2656

    do you actually need a 3d-printer to get this model or can you just buy it online?

  • @Nooth

    I see you work with prosim, did you actually pay the full 1250$ for it or is there a way around it?

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, I paid for Prosim when it was 400 Euros i think. Even back then it was a massive expense. There are other ways to find cheaper alternatives like PMDG 737. Although not as simple to interface, it does the job!

    I would like to build this but with my currency your design fee for STL files is nuts! 1 pounds is 34 Turkish Liras mate 438TRY just for 12.89 pounds... Could you make discount please so I may have a chance to buy the STLs I want to build my own Boeing 737-800 cockpit. This hobby should not be just for the rich you know

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, this one is not free. It took nearly a year and over 22 rolls of pla in prototyping. As this is already better than most commercial units i have decided to charge for this unit. However, check out eBay or AliExpress, they sell completed units for much cheaper than i can make them.
