    I would like this as a desktop clock ! 😀

      It's run off an Arduino Mega. Put a real time clock on it and jumble some of your own code and it will do just that.

    This man is a sea of knowledge. The mentality with which he approaches things, curiosity and passion make him a valid man, a capable and intelligent person. This should be everyone's approach to life, we would be a much more advanced species.

    Great job sir. You're a freak-in genius. There's however only 1 thing I would add and that's a piece of car window tint to the Two digital displays to darken the lit digits and to hide the unlit digits cause the way you have it now being un-tinted just doesn't look right. Aside from that very well done sir.......PROPS to you. 👍😃

    Time 32:28 just realised prosim says 21:09 and your chrono is 21:90. 21:10 is ok

    from @29:47 the top right display's digits are the wrong way around eg shows 10 instead of 01. Even more noticable from @30:19 where it shows 70 instead of 07 (only 60 minutes in an hour :) )

  • @yorgle
    @yorgle ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Beautiful build! You can improve contrast on those LED displays by putting a darkish yellow/amber gel over them. It'll vastly tone down the ambient visibility of the "off" segments, while the lit segments will be just as bright. :)

    • @jordangough7920
      @jordangough7920 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Are you able to elaborate on this? I find this to be the difference between what you would see in the real deal vs DIY projects. What kind of gel/product are you talking about? Cheers mate.

    • @yorgle
      @yorgle 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sure. A lighting gel (colored thin plastic) can be placed over the 7-segment displays to improve the contrast. If you match the color of the gel with the color of the light, then it will darken the frame of the digit segments without making the light any less dim.

    Thank You Karl! Another great addition to the sim. I have finished the MCP & EFIS and now working on the FMC with MTU to follow. I'll be ordering parts for the clock shortly. Again, thanks for the terrific projects and all the additional support work on youtube and in the build guides.

    Love watching your videos. can i ask where you get your sizes from? as in have you been in a real cockpit and measured actual sizes? or is there a recourses site that can give you real world sizes for items.

    3 Things:
    On your website clicking any of the optional items in the parts guide points to an invalid address: 737%20chrono%2C%20737%20clock
    A piece of yellow tinted film would improve readability of the led displays inmensely.
    The seconds hand lags behind the digits changing, it looks off. Maybe you can change the settings so it "lands" at the tick instead of start moving at the tick. Great build.

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good morning! I noticed that the second hand lagged exactly one second until the end of the video. The clock started from -1 instead of 0. I corrected this by using the compare tab in Mobiflight and changing the value from -1 to 0. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Also, I have just received a roll of window tint suggested by a Patreon member. They pointed out that this makes the 7 segments much more readable, which I have a go at soon. Kind Regards, Karl
