    This is pure genius as well. I tried to order a saitek throttle quadrant and they're backordered for 2 weeks. Even for such a simple throttle. This is nice that you've made it's own housing. Since I don't have a 3d printer I may have to have a 3d printing service try to print all of these parts for me.

    I think it would look super cool to do a "faux finish" with several layers of paint.
    1. light sand (surface prep) on the parts to be painted, avoiding any areas with bump-lettering.
    2. apply a filler of some sort. let dry. sand. Probably using some kind of paint as a filler would be best. I would think brushing it on would be better than spraying.
    3. sand, and then hand brush on a "base".
    4. sand and then paint a bit of "chrome" (metal/steel)
    5. add a bit of drybrush technique with black as an accent, to look like the oxidization of the metal. This is something that is commonly done in the movie prop industry.
    6. On the white parts, I think a hand paint and then sand filler coat or two, and a white krylon spray paint final surface would add a lot of shine to the white knob parts.
    I think your 737-v3 throttle looks amazing.

    • @helimech8152
      @helimech8152  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Warren, As cool as this throttle was as the time. It was based around the Saitek Throttle unit. This had its flaws from the start and they were carried over to this one. The new MTU v5 changes all that and produces a unit that is awesome in manual mode and auto. However, your advice is awesome and greatly appreciated. I will add this to the website under hints for the unit. thank you. Kind Regards Karl

    Just note - although I am just learning this - LeoB boards are 12k native at least while Arduino ones are just 10k. Thus resolution on axis on LeoB is 4-times (or more if they are i.e. 14 or 16k) higher than those on Arduino unless some supplement board like ADS1015/1115 is used - which increase price tag when several axes are required. Of course price depends on source of the boards: LeoB has one provider, Arduino comes from many manufacturers

    Nice Job, congratulation :-) and what about de Flaps, you don't mention it.
    I try to use an arduino Mega with Mobiflight and the command I used is
    When testing the flap-working with a free potentiometer, it appears that you need the entire track (280°) to move the Flap-leaver from 1 to 40 (over 9 steps).
    When this potentiometer is mounted in the throttle base, it only describes about a quarter (90°) of the full path (280°), which is insufficient.
