Ronnie Barker done an identical sketch using ITV sports coverage with Christopher Timothy playing the production assistant 3 years EARLIER in 1970 on his show, Hark at Barker.
His delivery never fails to impress me, never faltered or tripped over a line. An absolute genius.

This is brilliant commentary and being able to improvise from sport to sport.
+Bluesdirections It was probably rehearsed but made to seem like an improvisation. Nonetheless it's still really well made.
It wasn't improvisation, it was scripted, albeit quite beautifully.
Drive Easy Ronnie was known to be able to do this sort of stuff in one take, so that wonderful intensity comes from his undoubtedly huge skill
