I think it was before 1971 because in the 60s film Smashing Time the two girls are called Brenda and Yvonne which were the spoof names for The Queen and Princess Margaret as you suggest.
This type of comedy, and comedy of the day, would not be allowed now. Brilliant times in which people were not offended, took things as being light-hearted.
