Seriously the first intelligent thing someone's said on the US version of this show.
Dom really was a highlight. Obviously he wasn’t perfect, but he was supportive, told it like it was, and did whatever he could to help. Considering most of these restaurant owners and chefs aren’t able to move past their ego it was very refreshing to hear him go “I personally like this food but Gordon is a world renowned chef and I’m not, so his opinion on the food should be taken over mine.”
And he's the only person who has brain in that restaurant and he knew the real problems are the owners and their incompetence attitudes.
That made me laugh out loud when he said that😂

This is the first episode I've ever watched where each and every person wanted it so bad, they embraced change. Entirely refreshing to see appreciation and gratitude for the enormous gift Gordon is.

People won't watch if there is no conflict, so it is all scripted.
If you watch the UK episodes it's nowhere near as dramatic. The business owners are a lot more willing to work with GR.

It’s true. 99% of people like 4/10 quality food as much as 9/10 quality food. of course 10% of people just pretend that they like those 9/10 quality food more. Anyway, personally i like the texting scene of this episode.
The owners takes every fact and criticisms without being so defensive and arrogant, they deserve Gordon's help and especially they deserve the success.
Hope the restaurant did well after this episode, not many do all that well even with Gordon’s help.
I heard they survive for 26 months or so. As soon as they paid all debt, they sold the restaurant. Idk about this though, since my own source is from other comment, so its basically "Source: trust me bro" 🤣

Doms entry made him look like a villain, guy was a sweetheart. Glad to hear they paid of their debts and are now running a catering business.

This episode felt like a lot quicker than others because there was no drama, no fighting and very little arguments overall. One of the few times everyone was willing to work for that change despite their own flaws. It was truly a miracle.
I also noticed that this episode feels shorter than any episodes of KN ever. Also, Dom is just brutally honest and he's not totally the "bad guy" on the episode. He knows what happened. Also, Kevin is just accepted that the "Bomb Burger" is gone instead of wasting time to argue about it. You can see he's devastated at first but he quickly accept it. The only problems that they have are lack of leadership, limited plates and menus, and budgeting.
They couldn’t really argue because they were in A LOT of debt I think they said one million dollars which would take a very long time to pay off
They eventually had to close or sell the restaurant I think, I know the Son of the owner owns a company now or something, I forgot how I found that out.
Facts
The owners were mature enough to work with change. And it’s refeeshing. And I hope they are still in business after all these years. They seem like really good owners and people.
I just like how honest the staff is. They really wanted to have the problems fixed. I think this was one of the best episodes of Kitchen Nightmares. 👍👍

I thought he's gonna be the "bad guy" of this episode because his face looked punchable. But, turns out, he's the only person who has brains on that restaurant and he didn't too judgmental of the food because he knows it's out of his element. Also, the way he stormed off on staff meeting really makes sense because he pissed how incompetence the owners are and you noticed that Gordon didn't chase him or call him because he's right.

Staff taking smoke break during service is bad, but going to smoke together leaving the restaurant completely unattended is ridiculous. I would fire them immediately.
I love how quickly this got resolved. There were very little arguments and everyone clearly wanted a change. I don't know if it was something to do with the fact that no one was getting paid or if everyone was tired of working in a place where there was no business. Regardless, I'm glad they resolved everything. ❤️

I also noticed when Gordon said "The Bomb Burger is gone", look at Kevin's face. He looks devastated at first but he quickly accepted it. Usually, in KN episodes, the chef is always too stubborn but Kevin is not one of them. He was just too lazy to season it.

Dom is an example of a staff that will tell every thing he sees but will alaway care for you! A very honest man!

I like the former bricklayer, so humble. Its often the ones who aren't vain that are honest and humble.
I think a lot of the time people in construction have actual problems. Life, family, etc. Their truck broke so they're fixing it. They broke a bone so they're working while in pain. 😂. I've been around them my whole career. Meanwhile office people are complaining about the water taste at the drinking fountain (I've actually seen this). Their car breaks and they sink because they aren't capable of handling adversity. He's just self aware, and isn't sure why nobody tries to fix their problem if they see it.

this is one of the saddest and best episodes of KN. its not that heavy like they accept that everybody makes mistakes but is ready for a change. heard that their restaurant ran fo 2yrs+ and then closed it after they pay all the debt they had and settled on a catering service. welp not bad for an exchange of choices. good thing theyre doing good up to this day

This is 1 of the only episodes where I’ve actually seen Gordon not have to check the produce & things being so filthy in the restaurant, The place was decent, even the staff & the main issue was the food.

I rlly wanted these people to come out of this winning. I've never rooted for a restaurant team more from this show - they're so humble and willing to change, and in such a bad spot. They lasted 3 years after this which is great, but ultimately closed. I guess there was too much debt

Of couse you can like the food, but sometimes it does not tell shit about the food and more about your standards. And if you say it as customer, go ahead, you're not hurting anyone, but as owner and chef, you should aim higher than what you yourself would find acceptable.

This is the restaurant that deserves to have this show and its the first time I think that I saw chef ramsay genuinely helping the owners and the crew. It's like the best model hopeless restaurant for this show that is ever simply transformed. 👍

Ive watched loads of Kitchen Nightmares and this is the one I’ve enjoyed the most. No drama, honesty. I do like some of the drama in some episodes so Gordon can put them in there place. But personally its more enjoyable with no drama 😂

I've had it a few times where a waiter has come to serve us straight after their smoke break and the stench literally killed my appetite everytime. Smokers don't realise it but they smell horrible and the patrons notice it for sure. Ruining more than just their lungs!

I used to be a smoker and I would always wash my hands and chew gum when entering a building after smoking. I would also tuck my hair in to my jacket while smoking to minimize the smell because I never wanted people to be uncomfortable around me.

And he's mad because of good reasons because of his girlfriend is incompetence along with the staff and Chef Ramsay isn't even chasing him because he's right. And he comes back to dinner service later.
The chef is also a decent person and when Chef Ramsay said "The Bomb Burger is gone", you can see he's devastated at first but he quickly accepted it instead of wasting the time argue about it.

I loved how during the taste test they all sat down like a family during dinner. Don't see that often if at all at KN
Can we all just appreciate the fact that how Gordon changes people's lives? Like he's known for being angry and insulting people but no one talks about the fact that he changes people's lives as well as brings the best out of them,he literally spends thousands of dollars to get these people new decor and stuff for them,and the way he saved this family's restaurant is a miracle!
21% of the restaurants he visits in this series still close tho and some even blame gordon from their closing and some even sue him

After watching this show for nearly 7 years, I've come to a realization that "Word has spread about Chef Ramsey's presents at the restaurant, meaning more customers than usual" means people just see a reason to go to this restaurant and act like a bunch of food critics just for the cameras, anybody else think this? I feel like if the cameras weren't there, people wouldn't say anything 🙃

It's a known fact that when they filmed these, that they put up signs outside to complain about things youd normally keep quiet about. Most people have complaints but wont voice them or come back.
I don't buy that. You see in every service they get plate after plate returned. The more filled the resteraunt, the more plates returned
i mean it is still a tv show, but most customers are too polite to send something back. So i believe the reaction of some owners when they see the plates coming back is genuine

This is the best Kitchen Nightmare episode. full of emotion and teamwork at the end. Number 1... and the restaurant still running until today, they deserve it
Gordon Ramsey did a good job on this one. He didn’t over do it and gave them a nice manageable simple menu they could handle. Simple food for the chef to make that’s still good and attainable
The fact that the last owner sold the business for so much money is hilarious. Definitely saw these two dreamers coming.
It was successful business that he sold, and the new owners were busy at first till their food drove them away.

I always love ❤️ the first part of each segment when Gordon sends back the food and the chef always.. but always says, "Everyone loves this" or "this is what our clients like" ... just when a few minutes before during the introduction, it was clear they had NO clients, and the place was mostly empty

I understand the enjoyment (or addiction) behind smoking but the worst time to smell like tobacco smoke is when you're greeting and serving diners their food.

I'm not disagreeing or debating (I have no sense of smell so hard to make a defense)
but I've worked in enough restaurants to know that a lot of waiters and chefs would not be able to keep doing what they do if they stopped smoking.

This is the kind of episode you like to see. Good, honest people that are just in over their heads, no illusions of grandeur, no bullshitting.
As a chef something that upsets me is when a cook is making frozen food, Gordon sends it back and they get mad as if he’s insulting their cooking. Like _my brother in christ_ he’s not complaining that your cooking sucks, because you didn’t cook anything! You dropped a basket of calamari into the deep fryer and then put it on top of a salad! That’s not cooking! That’s deep frying frozen food, and of course a seasoned chef isn’t going to like the taste of frozen food that’s the _whole point_
