cost cutting , cutting corners , not paying their servers adequately , speed cooking to push the "product" out of the kitchen , quantity over quality , this guy has a corporate mindset rather than a restaurant owner , his place belongs in soul-less corporation's board of executives(i bet he could make millions) , i hope now he learned his lesson and is doing good and changed his mindset
There is nothing i hate more than an employer gaslighting their workers into submission because “your paycheques are paid out of my pocket”. Thats not your employees problem. They show up, they work, they get a paycheque. End of story.
Worth pointing out this is another restaurant that, despite the problems, had no issues with hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen and storage. These guys have been run down but they didn't drop those standards that are within their control.
I love how Gordon called the woman owner's bluff (believes customers would be surprised/impressed the lasagna was so good even though it was made a week ago) by actually going through with disseminating information to the customers. She was suddenly embarrassed. Smh.

I love it when the owners get disrespectful towards Gordon. So, you think Gordon has no clue and is an idiot. So why do you invite an idiot, someone whose opinion you do not respect, to judge your failing restaurant? 🤯🤯🤯
There truly is nothing worse than a toxic petty work environment where arrogance, disrespect, and condescending attitudes are normal. It develops paranoia and shame, knowing you could do much better, but you're basically stuck.
They had an already successful place in a great location, a fucking *dream team* on their hands and they did everything to ruin it all. I can’t with the idiocy. Hope the staff went on to find better and more satisfying opportunities out there, they really deserve the best.
Yes some are, but only a few INGREDIENTS not whole fucking dishes, pasta dough if you marinate it in oil first can be frozen and fresh meat can be frozen too but not for more than 2 or 3 weeks, and grinded meat can also be frozen but for a week at best then it looses all it's flavor, and that's basically all
Yes of course they are… on nights that are busy in your house, frozen meals are great but to go out and pay $20-$25 for someone else to microwave your food is not what people are looking for 🙄😢

Their amazing food and super friendly staff makes up for small mistakes. And it works. I recommended them at work and we now order every now and then with 15-20 people. Their niceness brought them 20 customers just from me alone.
There are many people who believe the only way to make money is with an "angle", some way to trick the person into paying more than the actual value of the thing they are buying. They also think the only value in gaining someone's trust is so that you can then get one over on them more easily. It's called the "zero sum game" fallacy: "the only way I can win is if you lose".
Imagine calling in chef Ramsey for help when your chefs are literally telling you the problems and possible solutions and you’re just ignoring them lol
Funny how when the staff were complaining about how they're treated, the owners say nothing but the moment one of them mentions their pay check, the owners immediately get on the defensive.
It's hard to drag your employer into court for being a shithead, but it's real easy to do so for failure to pay wages. That's the only kind of thing vultures like these owners care about - "could we get sued for that?"
I love how Gordon and Jason exchanged glances and just slightly smiled to each other. And it shows again how Gordon knows whats up. He knows when someone can cook and gave them the chance to blow the minds of the owners. Love this man! They fake it to get the freebies by Gordon, the decor, equipment etc. Then when he leaves they go back to being exactly the same as before, and hope the freebies and reputation they got from the show brings back customer. There was a split second when I thought they were going to say they wanted to keep the name out of, I don’t know, respect?? But yeah nope
I think the family should sue
All it takes is one in a position of power/ownership to destroy the good you had, in this case the Cortellos
They didn't even respect Zeke's legacy
Love how he keeps calling the food “product” like it’s not something to be eaten but sold
But honestly even if you want to make a good product you would listen to customer feedback, like honestly how dumb are these owners
Thats spot on! All they wanted was food to be good enough to be ordered and sold, thats why they settled for frozen items cuz "ofc its better fresh, but its not terrible frozen". As long as the customers didnt send the food back and paid for the meal, thats all they could ask for. Until customers stopped coming lmao
That’s what I was thinking! When he portioned shrimp 🍤 in bags…I died! Cheap goon!
The place is closed about a year after this was aired. I think after this, the owners just went back to their old ways and refused to maintain what Ramsay did. I believe they used Ramsay as a way to promote their dying restaurant.
cost cutting , cutting corners , not paying their servers adequately , speed cooking to push the "product" out of the kitchen , quantity over quality , this guy has a corporate mindset rather than a restaurant owner , his place belongs in soul-less corporation's board of executives(i bet he could make millions) , i hope now he learned his lesson and is doing good and changed his mindset

The only restaurants that have a chance of survival have to start clean or get an executive chef from Gordon.
Lasagna is portioned out and froze...he's literally serving microwave dinners. And charging restaurant prices.
might as well eat at home, its robbery for what yo paying for tht quality
I make better lasagna at home. It costs a third of that price. This is why I don't go to any restaurants.
Better eat at home rather been served to the customers
And he's not even the only one to do that in this series
you'd be surprised how many big name restaurants do this
I love how Gordon called the woman owner's bluff (believes customers would be surprised/impressed the lasagna was so good even though it was made a week ago) by actually going through with disseminating information to the customers. She was suddenly embarrassed. Smh.

There are many people who believe the only way to make money is with an "angle", some way to trick the person into paying more than the actual value of the thing they are buying. I feel like zeke would be disappointed in what happened to his restaurant. And I think the new owners were disrespecting the restaurant zeke bad built
They have absolutely shitted on Zeke's legacy. A man that was loved by the community, had a good work ethic, made his restaurant stand out as one of the best and these arrogant sods come in and they keep the name not because they want to keep his legacy going and aim to keep the same high standards but because they believe the name alone will bring them money. They should be ashamed of themselves.
@@rempanda They sold the business in 2012
Who tf cares about Zeke? Everybody in the comments are talking about Zeke like he's Santa wtf
@Louise 22 y.o - check my vidéó why I’d your comment not more popular I actually laughed
@@solmoman ...everybody's talking about zeke because he started the restaurant that this entire episode is about, and because he seems to have been universally described as a hardworking man who cared about the restaurant & community. they're saying that it's disrespectful to his legacy for the new owners to keep the name & facade of the restaurant in order to maintain the profits and popularity zeke had built without making any effort to maintain the standards and care he put into the restaurant
"I wouldn´t put my name on that. I wouldn´t put my ENEMY´S name on that!" 😂😂😂
It never gets old how Gordon changes his energy to much more positive the second he starts speaking to the waitstaff instead of the owners 😂😂
I've not seen him rude to servers, although I'm sure he has at some point.

FRESH FROZEN OUT OF A CAN
"So how the fuck is that special in your tiny mind?"
"I don't have a tiny mind"
"I'm telling you you have a tiny mind"
Something about how that conversation was so casual made it so much funnier 😂
My problem with the bags isn't the bags, it's the lack of the labels on the bags. Ya gotta know how old stuff is.
