Yeah, I only complain if I think the restaurant still has potential, say maybe got one dish out of 5 wrong kinda stuff. If the food is really really bad, my fam will just leave an opinion with the server if they asked and would never revisit.
I love the episodes where Gordon and the head chef start off butting heads, but eventually Gordon gets thru and the chef humbles himself, becoming the best he can possibly be. Sort of like a redemption arc .... very satisfying to watch, even if it is dramatized for TV!
She wasn't just "understandably upset" she was calling people names and screaming, so was the chef 🙄 I don't care how upset you are that's totally inappropriate behaviour on both their parts, especially towards your co - workers.

If I would’ve been standing there and someone insults Chef Ramsay I’d have broke their jaws. I always laugh when these chefs say that customers did not complain about their food. Don't they realize that some customers won't always complain about the food? They just won't come back.
I, personally, don't usually complain. Moreover, I can't even recall having complained about received food. As far as I remember I tasted dried desserts, over-salted tom yam, there was a fly in my dish, but I didn’t complain because it was embarrassing for me to offend the chef 🤣
No use in complaining cause most of them sometimes just get mad at us. If u ask them to redo they bring back to the kitchen and spit the food and serve it . Again not everyone but yes it do happen . So some are just afraid to complain 😐

Ricky did an excellent job of both swallowing his pride and biting his tongue when he was assigned to being kitchen support. Seeing him step up when Lex fell apart was excellent, seeing Ricky properly embrace his potential. And then when Lex came back, Ricky never missed a beat or tried to belittle him. This was one of the most satisfying episodes to watch.
I may or may not be right but i think Gordon confirmed (idk i read this somewhere else) that he doesn't scream at children Because it'd be shit and their still young Ofcourse they'll make foolish mistakes But to adults? They have grown, they should have learned from their past mistakes
Nah, he is rude. But it's not rudeness for the sake of it. It's the kind of rudeness that's supposed to snap you out of your misguided ways and motivate you to do better. I'd say he's rude, but he's not an asshole or a bully. If he sees that his harsh comments changed your attitude and made you perform better he'll be the first person to praise you.

The one thing I envy about Gordon Ramsey isn’t his fame or his money or even his talent. It’s his people skills. He is able to get an immediate bead on bad people and he’s tough but uplifting. He knows when sometimes needs tender guidance and he knows when they need a boot up their bum. He talks to people without any anxiety. He just goes out there. I could never.
Little update for everyone: At the end of the episode we hear that both Ricky and Tabitha excelled in their roles as Executive Chef and Manager. Lela's closed in 2007 as although business had improved Lela's debts were too high. Yelp reviews were mostly negative. In it's place now is Aladdin Jr Restaurant & Cafe, an Arab restaurant with good reviews. After Lela's Ricky went on to become Executive Chef at The Corner Butcher Shop in La Verne. He later worked for Silver Spoon Catering and is currently working at Hollywood Park Casino.

Let's be honest he proved us all wrong. I just didn't see him rising to the challenge. But he did and was fantastic. I think him in this show is a prime example of us being a product of our environment.
What that man proved is that you are what you are when the heat is up. There are many good chefs which can pull the line on a slow night. It's on heavy nights when they show their worth, especially if they can do it week after week, as they start to get worn down. What Ricky needed was to be demoted in order to show what he can do. I don't know what happened to him, but if he could hold that stamina, he could go far as a chef.

You definately could see he was hit by that when Gordon told him to go after him. Meanwhile, I think it sent a message in the other direction back to the ones who had a go at him, that while you can beat Ricky, you can't beat the rest of the staff like that or you have staff walk out. I always laugh when these chefs say that customers did not complain about their food. Don't they realize that some customers won't always complain about the food? They just won't come back.
...and tell everyone they meet to steer clear of the place.
100% me! I never complain, but many many times I just never go back.
Are you talking about me?
I, personally, don't usually complain. Moreover, I can't even recall having complained about received food. As far as I remember I tasted dried desserts, over-salted tom yam, there was a fly in my dish, but I didn’t complain because it was embarrassing for me to offend the chef 🤣
No use in complaining cause most of them sometimes just get mad at us. If u ask them to redo they bring back to the kitchen and spit the food and serve it . Again not everyone but yes it do happen . So some are just afraid to complain 😐
I love how they put up "ex head chief" instantly
