I took a course on property assessment, they stressed how VERY important it is to not say the house is vacant unless its absolutely vacant. Like, even if there is property inside, they are supposed to visit a few times before making that call.

So, the realtor made his determination without going in?
That was stealing flat out. Sorry the court needs to hold them accountable. If he tries suing the law firm they will bankrupt him.

I think people are too quick to judge without having all the facts. This was a third hearing in this matter. This guy was trying to take care of his dad and his dad’s ex-wife. His dad unexpectedly passed away and no one living in the house was aware the house had already been foreclosed on. The law is the law but this poor guy had A LOT on his shoulders and unfortunately a victim of circumstance.

I absolutely love this judge. The fact that he knows most of these people because he grew up with the makes it so funny. He knows when they are lying and he also knows who needs real help. He jumps in to help even when the kind of help he offered wasn’t the kind of help they wanted. If jail is that help then that’s where they are going. Doesn’t matter who you are, you get the same treatment from this man and I respect that. 💯

Did he actually file a police report? Anytime something is stolen, a report must be filed. A detailed accounting of all missing items mist be made. This guy may claim that he had the Mona Lisa in there and now it's gone. Unfortunately, sentiment does not equal a substantial pay day. He would need to know the actual value of what was taken. How old was the mower? Dude needs to go the proper route here or he won't have a case, except for the violation of the lockout laws.

Im on fence between anger and compassion. I know there's people who have hard lives-- but at the same time they can't mooch - never pay any rent or anything and live free 6 months ++ after foreclosure -- they need to take responsibility. Sounds like most of the stuff was gone.. but for his Dads stuff. Just move already. Quit living free. Also, the woman in red? Whats up with zoom from your car.

Because if the tenant files suit that is going to cost the loosing party at least that in fees and lawyers, not including recovery cost.

That’s why people are supposed to have INSURANCE on their items, or keep them somewhere safe. Why on earth would they leave anything of value there? I can’t see why not how, then again, not at all surprised that they hadn’t even started cleaning things out nor moving, it actually is to their advantage, and they had no intention of moving out going off of their actions, and clearly they know how to play the game.
And right before it was due to BE VACATED, ridiculous, and the defense of “it was locked with lights on” people leave things that way all the time, who on earth would steal things only valuable to the family members? I knowing they can play to the judge, they aren’t coming across well, you can literally get a blink camera for 25 bucks, in todays day and age people have to protect themselves, and document everything, sadly it’s the world we live it.
