100%. I really believe that the majority of us would do the same. Media sensationalizes corruption in a seeming attempt to convince us that everybody is on the take, and that everybody can be bought. But I do not believe that narrative. If you look away from the major media and talk to actual people, most of us are good people with respect for the law and Justice. I sincerely hope that Juror #52 is safe and okay. This was, no doubt, traumatizing for her. I hope she gets appropriate emotional support and protection from potential retaliation.

So arrogant, these crooks, that it must never have occurred to them that the Juror might not take the bribe. It must have been quite a surprise to them when she reported the attempted corruption. I would say they honestly did not know any better. They truly believed that they could pull this same stunt here in America (which probably would have worked in their country). What I meant was that I believe they truly believed that doing something like this (basically paying people off in exchange for their silence and or to have them do something that they wanted them to do) was okay to do and I don't think that they really truly anticipated the consequences being as severe as they are.
Although I will concede they must have anticipated something because as you pointed out they got a rental car, took the plates off, electronically wiped the phone clean.
What was really dumb in addition to everything else is coming from a country such as theirs (which is second world at best, by anyone's stretch of the imagination) I don't understand how they could have ever possibly thought that attempting to do something like this here in America that, we would not have the technology on hand to overcome what they tried to do.
