    To take the mag tubes apart there is a screw on either side of the tubes. Find the larger of the two, unscrew it and it comes right apart, you will eventually have to unscrew the smaller one to fully disassemble it and to get the mag tube springs out as well

    I pick up my new TS12 this Tuesday. Yours are the only disassembly videos I have found that go this far into the disassembly. Everyone else just do the field strip. Thank you. Your details in the videos make things quite clear. Also thank you for the small lessons in the Hawaiian language that happen now and then.

    The IWI US TH-cam channel also has a nice breakdown of the TS12, but its not as detailed as this break down. Nice job.
    To clean the gas piston looks pretty easy in the IWI TS12 Owners Manual (on their website in PDF form). Every owner should download a copy.

    Great video! You really helped me get my TS12 torn down to polish the receiver, barrel, feeding ramp, bolt face and extractor. This really familiarized me with my new firearm. I noticed that my left-handed model has the safety plunger installed from the left side to show red on the right side of the gun with the safety off. To assemble mine I installed a drill rod the same size as the safety plunger in place of the safety plunger to screw the plastic halves together then pushed the safety plunger into place which pushed the drill rod out...understand?? I also removed the firing pin from the bolt face for polishing. I'm sure running several hundred rounds through will help loosen it up a bit but the polishing I did will help stubborn shells feeding into the receiver...no extraction problems. Thanks for your great videos!!

    • @1977TheHammer

      Wow, good info. I always assumed the only real thing in the lefthand model was the port cover and extractor flipped.. never really thought they'd mess with the safety too. Interesting.

    So the end of the magizine tube comes off. There is a screw at both ends with a bar in the middle that both screw onto the hold all three tubes together. Its easy. The video is great and helped me the first time I took one apart. Thanks man

These vids are invaluable and I was curious if you'd be making any vids showing how to clean this bad boy for newbies like me. Aloha my friend, mahalo for the kind words and I’m happy that I was able to help you out.
      Welcome to the firearm community! I’m glad you’re here and also really stoked for you that you were able to get your hands on one of these bad boys (the TS12)
      You’re not the first to ask for a cleaning video; I’ve been in the process of finishing up edits for one but life has been hitting me from all angles so I haven’t been able to finish, but it will be coming soon.
      As for recommendations, I cannot think of any off hand, but I know there are a lot of good ones out there. Try looking for videos by @garandthumb, @warriorpoetsociety, and @mrgunsandgear to name a few.
      I have an older video on my channel explaining how to clean a pistol; the same concept applies to long guns
      Hope this helps, and I will shoot you a link when I finally get to releasing the cleaning video for the TS12

    Thanks for doing the video--it's quite enlightening. But there's one thing that I've been unable to find anywhere about the TS12, and I hope you decide to do a video about this: basic lubrication of the TS12. In other words, what needs to be periodically lubricated (especially at the field strip level), and what shouldn't be lubricated. And if there's any special lubs, like oil vs. grease, knowing this would be great too.

Watchin' those fold out allen wrenches wobbling all over the place ruins your otherwise smooth performance. Thank you for this. Just watching let's you know what parts are in there and how they interact. I noticed that there was a slot in the front end screw of the mag tubes. Perhaps this screw needs to be removed to disassemble the mag tubes. Just watch for spring pressure if you do try this. Perhaps a jig that holds the mag tube assembly in place as you unscrew that screw would help hold the front plate in place. Oh, I just subscribed..

    • @PeaK808
      @PeaK808  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aloha nō,
      Eagle eyed!!! I REALLY appreciate your thoughtful response and you taking the time to watch this video and leave your insights: this is the kind of interactions I was hoping to have on my channel when I first started so everyone can learn, talk story, and share knowledge with one another✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
      So yes, that front screw you speak of, TOTALLY looks like you can hit it with a flathead or something, but I wasn’t able to turn anything in there. I stuck the tubes in a vise and tried with a few different tools.... I’m thinking MAYBE there’s a possibility there’s a locking pin or something that needs to be depressed down inside as you turn, but I haven’t figured it out.
      Your comment got me thinking again though, and someone just asked me for a detail disassembly of the magazine release, so I might jump back in the tube disassembly and try again. I’ll let you know if any great revelations take place.

      @@PeaK808 I don't have a TS12 right now because I'm left handed and the TS12 is not friendly to a lefty, lol. However, I have info from IWI that a left hand TS12 as well as a left hand conversion set will be available this year, probably later in the Fall (my estimate). This came from IWI in response to a question I asked about a left hand TS12. I have bookmarked ALL of your tS12 videos for reference as I need them (and for drooling as I wait for a lefty!!). Your videos have confirmed my decision to get a lefty TS12 when available. I did notice another smaller screw slot on the follower end of the mag tube. Is this the one needed to disassemble the mag tubes??. Anyway, I thank you again for your very good videos and I'm looking forward to seeing the mag release disassembly video. After that, I think the only thing left is the trigger group. At first just a removal from the receiver and maybe a full disassembly, if possible. Now go and enjoy a strong cup of Kona Coffee.

    • @PeaK808
      @PeaK808  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@markbeam3925 The coffee was good lol thanks for the recommendation🤙🏾
      Kona coffee had been ruling for decades, but in the past few years Ka’ū has been growing some mean competition. If you’re into coffee, find me on Instagram @paakaula_ and shoot me a DM, I’ll send you a bag to try out🤙🏾
      So yes I shoot shotgun and rifles left handed primarily but can also shoot off the other shoulder just as well because I use my pistol right handed.
      Depending where you set your cheek weld with the TS12 you will either get a little kiss on the chin from an ejected hull, a smack in the lips, or nothing at all . In my experience I SOMETIMES get brushed on the chin, but I would recommend waiting for that left handed version to come out, good play on that one.
      As for disassembly of the mag tubes, I also tried the follower end to no avail; it looks almost like I could set a punch in there but after a good amount of pressure I didn’t want to risk breaking it. I’ve written IWI several times about the mag tube and have just been told to send it back if anything happens, and also that the springs and followers “should last for years”
      “Eye roll”
      I’ve bookmarked your request for the mag release and also the trigger group following. I have several request videos in front of you, which I’m trying so so hard to get to lol but I’ve JUST now gotten to setting up my new filming area and work station which has been slow going, but I’ll get there soon!

    Got any recommendations on how to keep the mag tube release lever from binding? I read other people have issues as well. The plastic lever bends when pressing on it therefore it binds.

      Aloha nō my friend, sorry you’re having this issue. Yes, I’ve had several people tell me about the mag release binding. A good remedy that the community has come up with is disassembling the TS12 body, removing the mag release and lightly filing the edges. You can finish off your work with 2000 grit sandpaper and wd-40, it comes out looking factory🤙🏾
      Let me know if this helps, if not, we’ll figure it out

      @@PeaK808 Thanks for the quick reply. I may have to resort to that depending upon what IWI has to say in reply to the email i just sent them. Funny thing is, if your hold the gun left handed and operate the lever, its simple to push with no binding. Ill keep you updated. Thanks again.

      @@PeaK808 I called IWI today to see if i could buy a mag release lever. Id like to have an extra in case i mess up mine trying to modify it. They said taking the gun down far enough to replace the lever voids the warranty. Warranty or not, they wont sell one. I thought that was pretty shitty. They said if im having issues, send it in and theyll look at it.
      Still waiting on a reply to the email i sent them.
