      E Aloha Mark! I got your Instagram message, mahalo piha for the info! I asked a friend of mine who lives on the other side of the island to scoop up some of that coffee I was telling you about, so I’ll have that out to you right away, let me know what you think!
      Yes, this is where I grew up. I imagine it’s a lot like people who live in New York City and never go to Times Square or The Statue of Liberty, or really those types of things you don’t do unless friends come to visit, or things you overlook because you see them all the time. Moving home as an adult I now take more notice of where I’m blessed to belong to.
      Funny story when I was in college in the mainland I was driving on the highway when everyone started pulling over. I saw people getting out of their cars and taking pictures. I look and see they’re taking pictures of a rainbow.
      I thought to myself, “look at these lame ass people stopping to take pictures of a rainbow!” I then realized I hadn’t seen one in over five years since I left home. Rainbows are SO FREQUENT in Waimea that you don’t even look at them really when you’re a kid.
      I do now.
      I’m glad I could help you out some, please LMK how the TS12 experience is going🤙🏾

      @@PeaK808 I'll definitely keep you updated but I've hit an overnight delay in getting my TS12. UPS delivered it to my FFL at 4:30 today and they close at 5:00. They received multiple firearms so there isn't enough time to he the TS12 in their system and do the background check. So, I have to wait overnight. Oops, another delay just popped up. The dealer I purchased the TS12 from forgot to include a copy of their FFL with the TS12 so now I have to wait fot that dealer to send the FFL copy. Hopefully, I'll pick up the TS12 tomorrow. There is no way to talk to a real person so I had to do what I could. Anyway, I now have the TS12 and I've registered it with IWI so I'm ready for when they release the left hand conversion. Thank you so much for the video. Great work. As you mentioned, making room is key if a fully loaded gun hasn't yet been shot. I've been using what you demonstrate as method #2, albeit with keeping the charging handle on my strong side. That said, if the gun is fully loaded with 17 rounds following a ghost load, it becomes a lot more problematic.

    I'm a new TS12 owner and came access your channel. Thank you, really nice to see TS12 specific content. Do you know if there is a longer charging handle available that would allow it to be operated from both sides without having to remove the handle to change it? I like the second method of changing ammo but don't know if I would want to only have the charging handle on the strong side or ejector side of the gun.

    • @PeaK808
      @PeaK808  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Aloha nō Don!
      I appreciate the kind words; Manticore arms makes an extended charging handle that is pretty good, but you can’t use it from both sides simultaneously.
      I’m currently running it on my TS12 and I like it a lot. As for the slug select, you can leave the charging handle where it is without swapping it over to the strong side, this way works well also!

  • @kjbelles
    @kjbelles 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sorry, Peak808, I think you're wrong on this one. The methods you used do not consider whether the lifter is loaded previous to the slug select, and the "hold back" method is a potential hazard of losing control of an unsafe weapon if you are bumped, lose balance, or are shot. There is a better way that works regardless of gun condition, and does not require you to release control of the firearm. Note, there are two weird things you do, but neither are actually unsafe, and you can do this with the bolt handle on either side. It's a little complicated, but goes like this:
    METHOD ONE-SLUG LOAD IN NON-FULL TUBE
    1) load slug(s) in a tube.
    2) release tube lock and HALF-rotate slug loaded one toward primary position.
    3) Rack TWICE; once to clear chamber, once to clear lifter With the tubes out of alignment, this empties the chamber and lifter.
    4) Press trigger on gun with emptied chamber/lifter to induce a bolt lock-back.
    5) Rack to lock-back bolt.
    6) HALF-rotate slug-loaded loaded tube to primary. Shells will now autoload to chamber (ka-clunk).
    7) Fire slug(s)
    METHOD TWO-PORT LOAD
    1) Have slug available to port-load.
    2) release tube lock and HALF-rotate tubes.
    6) Port load slug, bolt release, HALF-rotate tubes into alignment. Shells now will autoload to lifter (thunk).
    7) Fire slug.

    Aloha! Thanks for making all these ts12 videos, better than the 80page manual it came with!
    One quick question regarding the carrier stop lever, do you have to hit the lever every time when cycling inert rounds for the carrier to pick up the 2nd inert round in the active tube? If I don't hit the carrier stop lever, I can sit there can charge the bolt all day and carrier won't pick up the 2nd inert round from the active tube.
    I just got my ts12 in and haven't been to the range due to inflated ammo prices, trying to figure out how it functions with inert rounds before the range.

    • @PeaK808
      @PeaK808  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aloha nō my friend! Mahalo🙏🏽 for the kind words
      To answer your question, YES. The carrier stop lever kind of puts the shotgun into a “manual cycling mode” of sorts. This is also how to lock the action back with empty tubes and an empty chamber without first pulling the trigger.
      I totally feel you on the ammo prices. On the island I belong to, there are only 3 places to buy ammunition; two are on opposite sides of the island and one is kind of half way between those, and they’re a couple hours drive from one another. Ammo is ULTRA scarce here, on top of being crazy expensive when it IS available. As a reloader, the fact we live in an island makes it even more difficult to buy components online if it were available in the first place.
      Dry fire practice with dummy loads is an EXCELLENT method of training and learning how to manipulate your firearm, awesome that you’re putting in the homework!

      As for loads, I know this probably isn’t the answer you want to hear, but whatever loads you like as long as they are within the specs that the manual dictates, which is a minimum 1 1/8 oz and 1200 FPS.
      I have just under 2000 rounds through mine and as long as I’ve stayed within those specs AND kept my gas adjustment and piston clean (every 400 rounds or so), I haven’t had any malfunctions or failures with it at all.
      The main thing is find loads you like and stick with them, but I have tried a good number and again, as long as they meet that 1 1/8 oz 1200FPS threshold, you’re good to go.
      I don’t have a list of what I’ve fed this guy, as I said in the video all my stuff is all over the place, but I’ll try to find my notepad and get that info to you.

Sadly, the Mossberg Shockwave and Ruger Mini-14 vie for the coveted third place (which makes me think I should just do a top five favorites instead).

      This breacher choke is for looking cool more so than anything else, although it does have a very slight effect on recoil.
      Looking cool and muzzle punching zombies in the face are what this choke is best for lol.

      @@JoshuaGarcia-ub7ny easy glad that I could help! I’m sure you had your gas adjusted to the H setting to help out with that recoil. I’ve had A LOT of messages from TS12 owners talking about the felt recoil. Maybe it’s just my copy, but I’ve always thought the platform was very soft shooting for a 12ga; I’ve only experienced a few loads that felt heavy in the recoil. I can’t remember them at the moment I have them written down someplace but one of them was a 3in duck shot load.

    Method #2: can't you pin it with the support hand? And load with strong hand?

    • @PeaK808
      @PeaK808  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aloha nō my friend!
      I will be making an update to this video soon.
      Short answer, yes, you absolutely can and that is exactly how I’ve been running my TS12 for the past few months. The reason why I was using the CH in the strong side in method 2 is because my shell caddy I carry my slugs in (at the time) is on my left side. I’ve since completely changed up how I carry extra rounds and it has pushed me to find better ways of running my TS12.
      Update video coming soon, but I still think the two ways I show in this video are good options that someone else might find useful to them.
      Thank you for watching and stay tuned for the next!

    How does it do if you run mini shells?

    • @PeaK808
      @PeaK808  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What’s up my friend!
      How does it do if I run mini shells?
      Absolutely terrible.
      I’ve run many different types of ammo through this firearm and like I’ve told others, as long as you run Ammo within the specs in the manual (at least 1 1/8oz at 1200fps) it’s good to go.
      I’ve gone a little less on the mass of projectile and higher in speed with good results on some loads but it’s hit and miss from there.
      Mini shells won’t eject and cause major malfunctions so bad I’ve had to disassemble the firearm to remedy them.
      I have just under 2k shells through my TS12 and as long as I’m in the specs with a clean gas regulator and piston, everything is good to go.
      So my internet gun expert super tacticool you tube guy recommendation is stay within the spec, find a load that you like and stick with it🤙🏾
      Hope this helps, have a great weekend🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾

    This gotta be the most unconventional and complicated shotgun to run.😂
    I know it balances well, but 9lbs naked and empty is heavy! Same as the Tavor 7, but 25rds of 308 out of a simple bullpup rifle might be a better fighting tool tho.

I dont know, whatever the case it was a suck idea. I started carrying extra shells on esstac shotgun cards on both sides of the TS12 and it really is the most efficient way.
      I’m sure there are a few people out there who may benefit from knowing the two ways I showed on the video, but yes, I don’t use either of these two methods anymore

      @@PeaK808 I guess the slug change is good to learn, but very unlikely to be used in real world.
      Since a good tactical buckshot like Federal will print a hand-sized group at 25yd, I say it still will be mostly on target at 50yd, and still be lethal far after that.
      I did do some slug practice at 100yds and yes they are pretty effective. But if you consider real world scenario, I guess I either would just load all slug or bring a rifle if there is an open field where I'm going to. Or a few buckshot at 'non ideal range' quickly like 40-100yds will still persuade any living thing to stop fighting you.
