    Thanks for the video! I have a pontiac vibe and my blower is not working and I didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars to have someone else replace it. Now I can fix it myself.

    GREAT VIDEO!!! Used this to fix my 2005 Toyota Matrix. Few things to note:
    -To remove those “Christmas Tree” clips, I used the back of a hammer (claw) to remove them
    -In my Matrix, there doesn’t seem to be a “boot”. Just a plug (which BTW, went upwards into the blower instead of sideways)
    -I was able to use a screwdriver to get the three bolts off. Socket wrench didn’t seem necessary - my car mightve been a bit different.
    The hardest part was getting the fan back in. Fighting gravity while upsidedown in an awkward position was not fun, but the video helped me get the job done! Thanks for posting

      Charlie Finnessy was either if you having an issue with car turning off beforehand has only been working on high when turn heater is on n today when turned on it shut car off and then I shut heat off and car was running again without me turning over the key and it did it again. just got a new battery a few weeks ago.

    I saw a filter there too. Did you change it as well? sometimes it could be that filter is just dirty, but it seems like it was the blower motor in this case. Thank you for the video.

    Give the wiring harness a few tabs with the handle of a screwdriver while holding down the clip that holds it in. It should pop out

    I have a 2008 Toyota Matrix. The heater squeals until it's been running for a while (for a couple of years) and now the AC squeals too. Also, heater seems to only work best on high. Should I replace the entire fan or do you think it is just the Blower motor resister? (I will open it up and clean it first. We live off a dirt road so likely dirty).

  • @jeffschmiemeier9819

    How did you know the motor was bad and not just the resistor? My van motor stopped and thankfully i watched a video like yours and replaced the motor resistor (simple and cheap plug in piece), fan started right up. Now my sons motor stopped.

    • @ChadWilliamsFixesAll
      @ChadWilliamsFixesAll  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the resistor was bad, it would only blow on High setting, not the intermediate settings. This one didn't have that symptom. So, we replaced the whole motor to take care of it.

      @@ChadWilliamsFixesAll thanks... mine isnt blowing at all, but ive already purchased the resistor. See how it goes.

    • @jeffschmiemeier9819

      Well it wasnt the resistor. Turns out the plug was bad. $18 for a new plug at Auto Zone and its all better.

    I have a 2009 pontiac vibe. We replaced the windshield wiper resivor tank with success (it was leaking) but then right after that car started to die out...getting no power and would stall. Jumped it several times but still died out on its own. Multuple dash indicator lights came on including check engine light. Ended up putting a new battery in. All dash lights went off. Car is running fine but now blower wont come on for heat and AC. Fuse under dash looks good...any ideas we should try before getting new blower and resistor. Blower was working just fine before we pulled and replaced washer resivor tank.

      We have done similar repairs other than the reservoir on our 2009 vibe. The mechanic said our issue is the blower

  • @michaelfitzgerald7048
    @michaelfitzgerald7048 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How can you test it to make sure it's actually the blower motor and not that switch your turning I hate to replace a $50 blower motor when it's actually the switch that's messed up

    • @mrdark9916
      @mrdark9916 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hit your blower a few times, you'll hear it croaking if it's bad most likely
      It will start /stop ect as you bang on it.
      That's what I did. 😂

    I just got my new piece today, and I'm stuck trying to get the computer out from under the motor. It's like a bracket holding it in place and I can't find where to unscrew it

      Hey Peyton, did you figure it out? Lots of times, I put my head fully under the dash so I can see everything. The bolts are there, they can just be a pain.

      Chad Williams I figured it out and got it replaced. My new blower motor was faulty so I'm waiting on a replacement. It's a little stuck so it can only run on high settings and makes a rattling sound, but at least I have air until that replacement comes in 😄
