The video was really useful in preparing for the replacement of my radio/cd. Eventhough my 2007 had a different configuration on the back of the face plate, the basic approach you showed provided a way for me to deal with the difference. The concern of losing the screws was solved by me by putting a little "wall tacky" in the socket and the screws were held in place in the socket for both removal and reinstallation. Thanks for the video help.

Wunderbar! Just amazing, the advice you can find on TH-cam. You saved me a lot of time, ellbow grease, and money. The CD changer was completely dead, and I was getting ready to replace it. My last attempt, after visiting this channel: disconnect the black annode, count to 30, then reconnect. Like magic, everything worked again!

This guy was right! I wanna buy him a beer. I unplugging of the black annode on my battery for a few minutes did indeed reset the CD changer in my 2003 Vibe. Works great. And this whole time I thought I shorted the ba$&A&@ out getting "jumped" by my girlfriend in the CO Rocky Mts. Thanks guy! Cheers!

So, if it's VIN locked, I guess I can give up the idea of a junk yard replacement for my '04 single-CD unit? Is there a solution to this?
Will the 6-disc fit the dash/connectors? The antenna connector looks standard....I remember a proprietary form factor on the older ones?
Thanks...good technical details, with respect for the viewers' time...much appreciated.

That final white fastener/clip on the rear left side is a real mother-humper to disconnect.

This is a special bulb for Pontiac from Delco/Delphi. We have tried all the generic lamps available, they are not right and tend not to last.

I want to upgrade my radio to one that has an aux port on it so I can use my MP3 player. I have a 2004 Vibe. Will most aftermarket radios work with the vibe or am I limited to certain models or bracket types? I do know there are kits that allow me to use radios that are not as large and they usually include a little shelf to take up the remaining room. Could I even use one of those, or again, am I restricted due to the design of the dash.

just a pry tool. you can get them at most auto parts stores and online. Bojo Pry tools are the best in my opinion though.

Thanks for the video. My radio/cd player is working fine, but I need to remove it to get to a faulty recirculation vent motor/gear assembly. Thanks!!!

The same thing happened to me also just last week. i have the same vibe year and model you have so I'm looking for answers also. Wondering if it's better to just replace the stereo unit. i found one on amazon for a fair price. all these steps of snapping wires and bolts nuts etc makes me nervous because i have never done any of this before. but the person on the video seems experienced

I used along thin metal putty knife type tool. position tool so to get on TOP of the disk. very gently apply presure down on top of disk at same pulling toward you. this procedure took me many tries. when you can finally see disk, use tweezers or very small needle nose pliers to pull out. i ruined my Cher disk, but i can use the player again. be very gentle when doing this. my disk got pushed way back in the player when i tried to put another disk in thinking it was empty. patience and good luck.
