This video is solely my opinion. Everyone else should have their own opinions so feel free to share them in the comments! This script took me over a year to write, the actual video took me a month to make. I had to gather all of this footage and trust me, it wasn't easy... So I thank you all for any support! Edit 4/4/22: Mistake 1 - That Cornwall bit was 100% a mistake. I should have done more research there’s no excuse for that so I am sorry. I just thought it would’ve been cool if the van der linde gang had history with robbing his businesses and Cornwall secretly knew? But that’s not right it’s wrong. Then I thought it would’ve been cool if Cornwall was the villain against Hosea and maybe they both have history? Or maybe not. I just thought it would’ve been cool, but I forgot that Cornwall went after them because of the train, so that’s 100% my fault. Idk for some reason I thought that the Pinkertons worked for Cornwall I’m so stupid 🤦♂️Guys just ignore anything I said about Cornwall that was a mistake and I am sorry because now it makes the whole entire video look bad. Edit 4/5/22: Mistake 2 - Sometimes I think this video is poorly written because Rdr2 is amazingly written. The story gets deeper than you think. Dutch used the members to fill his ego and get only what he wants, so why would you want to play as that? He is an antagonist, narcissistic sociopath. And only used Arthur, Hosea, and the rest of the gang to get his wants. He doesn’t care about Arthur he doesn’t care about Hosea he doesn’t care about John and the proof is there because not only he left grimshaw but he also left Arthur and John to die when they were at their weakest level. So MEANING that Dutch was never a good person he was always like this even before the events of rdr2. And maybe Micah didn’t manipulate Dutch before everything, maybe Dutch knew the entire time and only let him manipulate him to make an excuse to get what he wants! I didn’t really think about that level of writing during the making of the script. Edit 4/6/22: Mistake 3 - I come to realize that I still stand by my own take on Dutch. I know I kinda painted him as a good guy in this video, but I still think that he cares about Arthur. I’m not gonna sit here and say he was always like this, he wasn’t. At one point I do believe he was good and didn’t use Arthur and the rest of his gang for his own fame. I guess you can say that about him in the second game, but Dutch is.. a very interesting antagonist. Of course he is pure evil in rdr1 but I have a feeling that he was a good person I mean he did save Arthur and John and raised both of them I do see that as good because he basically adopted them. I wouldn’t see that as manipulative or trying to use people because his connection to Arthur and John is very deep and the dude just went crazy in the second game becoming more and more evil overtime. I think they should add a lot to the storyline of Dutch and showcase what else of more major plots that drove him to the land of insanity. That’s just my take on it. I also wanted to point out another mistake I made during the making of this video. I state that Bessie died due to something that was unknown in the evidence of the history. This is false, Hosea in fact confirms that Bessie passed away due to pneumonia. I didn’t see that in the Red Dead Wiki at the time but it’s the truth. So yes, Bessie does in fact die from pneumonia so my bad. Edit 4/7/22: Mistake 4 - You all may be wondering why I make a big deal about Mr. Gillis selling the Brooch? Yes it’s practically useless because Arthur gets it back anyway but I think it’s much more than that. You see, It's not about Arthur getting it back, it's about the intention behind Mr. Gillis's mind. it shows how he doesn't care about his family anymore and it's the little things, like selling her mom's brooch, that counts into my argument. It shows that he will easily pass on the most valuable thing to his daughter and deceased wife away just for a quick buck. That's the reason why I state that it's "worse". Another mistake I wanted to point out was the scene where the gang is running from the blackwater massacre. That scene obviously doesn’t make sense. The reason why it doesn’t make sense is because the scene was rushed. Yes, rushed. That’s why you see Sean there lol. Yes I know Sean was captured. That specific scene was the last footage I got so it was towards the end. I had to fill in the part of me explaining what the infamous massacre was so that whole scene was honestly rushed and I was getting tired because my deadline was March. So I completely apologize for that mistake that specific scene was in fact rushed. Edit 4/8/22: Mistake 5 - There’s a theory that Arthur met Eliza before he met Mary. I believe this to be false. I assume that him and Mary were teenagers and grew up together in their relationship. Apparently, Arthur met Eliza when she was 19. I would assume that Arthur was in his 20s. I’m sure that Arthur raised Isaac for 10 years. I wouldn’t say that Arthur met Mary after he lost his son? I’m positive that him and Mary were together before him and Eliza were. But again, there’s no proof of that claim anyway so both views are in your own style. I feel as if Arthur became a good man in the second game because of trauma. I’m not just gonna say Arthur became a good man because he got tuberculosis, nonono. I believe there’s way more to that. Sure he comes off as mean at the start, but wasn’t really in his right mind to begin with. He had to learn the hard way, and it forced him to become a good man. Even tho he was a killer lol. The trauma damaged the entire form of his character and shaped him into a caring being. Now you can obviously change this by going into low honor mode, but I feel as if it’s the way you perceive it. The death of his wife and his son could either make him into a high honor man or a low honor man. You decide… Edit 1/25/23: Thank you all so much for ONE MiLLiON ViEWS!!! I am so grateful for all of you watching my video from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!! 🙏
@@notnow8010 I stated that they should add a lot more to the storyline of what we already know. Just like they did with rdr2 for rdr1. But this time it'll be even more expansive and making not only the story but also the game longer to experience.
If RDR 3 was a another prequel then that wouldn’t bother me since there’s was a LOT of lore to explore in it (in this video obviously) along with adding Landon Ricketts since a lot fans (me included) would like to see him in his prime and focus on his storyline. And maybe in RDR4 we could play as Jack again tracking down Sadie and Charles to write the book Red Dead thats in Franklin's house years later.
@@mindhalf135 nah i havent seen a vid or anything about the game in 4 years and recently i started playing the story again and all i remembered was the tb and that he died
Nah I've replayed it a few times and honestly only open world game i constantly play in for hours and don't get bored GTA 5 has reached this point where I hope on try to get 5 stars escape in a plane crash said plane get bored new game red dead just feels so alive
He works the best In my opinion since we don't know what he looks like or a lot about him. The way he's described is morally questionable same as Arthur. While we know Davey was more bad then good.
That would be cool but I think the rockstar should do a prequel story of a young uncle in the prime Wild West where we actually play through the stories he told at camp would be interesting and they would be able to explain what happen yo uncle that he became lazy in old age
There’s a lot more to Arthur’s story alone we don’t know about. I thought it was interesting that of the vanderlinde gang Arthur had the biggest bounty on his head. Arthur also seems to be viewed by many in the gang as the most skilled gun judging by voice dialogs.
Dutch had the biggest bounty. Did you forget the moment when Ross and the other guy Milton or something(I forgot his name) offered Arthur freedom for turning in Dutch?
I would like to see the same formula used where we play as a new character and then switch to Arthur, a way to continue the idea of 'passing the torch'.
his last family, the blackwater incident that started the gangs downfall, dutchs backstory and how he formed the gang, how he got such a massive bounty so much potential
The story of Jack is in the big picture a sad story, but killing Ross was immensely satisfying. Also it's not like he became a ruthless murderer and killed an innocent woman in cold blood like Dutch. He avenged his father. And it was done in an honorable duel, he didn't shoot him in the back. To my mind Jack knew that his parents didn't want him to seek revenge which is why he waited until Abigail died to pursue his vengence, but he also could not let the injustice done to him and his family go unanswered for. It was something that needed resolving before he could move on with his life.
I remember hearing a campfire dialogue, maybe at Shady Belle in RDR2 (at some less troubled point of Chapter 4). It was between Jack and Abigail: Jack: "When I'll grow up, I'll be a gunslinger!" Abigail: "Over my dead body! You'll become a lawyer. You will do the hanging, not the swinging!" My quotes might be a bit off, but it was definitely about this topic. The epilogue of RDR1 began in 1914, after Jack has buried Abigail. Only then did he start coming for Ross.
To be honest I like to imagine after jack kills ross he just IMMEDIATELY puts down his revolver and retires as a gun man on the spot basically, he knows that they never wanted him to end up like them and as such basically just kills Ross in a duel, and immediately goes home to live the rest of his days in peace
I love how for the young Arthur, you literally just made him smaller, like he still looks like an adult but just comically small, like I saw a video of someone using mods to play as Jack Marston, and at one point used the mod to make Jack adult sized but still using the kid model
@@jizzyjake6783 in a Mission where Arthur and John stole sheeps, Arthur was making fun of John and John said “Be done with, we ain’t kids no more” and Arthur replied “Well we never really was” so I guess what you’re saying makes sense
Personally, I think sticking to one character would be better as it creates a stronger bond (the player and Arthur), but exploring how the gang started and developed would be a great way to approach RDR3. Well done on your video, so much effort was put into it!
I feel like if Dutch becomes the main character, it’ll be the last rdr game. Only because both 1 and 2 Dutch is always an antagonist if that makes sense? It just seems like a final ending type thing But honestly I really want a RDR remake.
@@goatedblondegirl I think Hosea would be the best as a main character, that way we would get an excuse to explore the existing part of the map. (Assuming we do get it)
I’m in the minority or may be the only one but I so badly want a RDR but instead of redemption, it should be Red Dead Damnation or something and it’s jack becoming an outlaw while the surviving characters from the previous games track him down to convince him to stop him and change his mind.
@@JanAly no offense but that’s such a horrible story to go off of, Charles, and Sadie probably wouldn’t know, which are the only ones besides for maybe Tilly who would care, and Tilly has a family now, she doesn’t want to concern herself with an outlaw now? And also the Wild West is basically almost dead at this point, there is no way the story would be as great as going the prequel route
The only issue I have is that Hosea is 11-12 years older than Dutch and would probably be a father figure to both Arthur and Dutch. You can see that both of them feeling like they lost their father in Saint Denis. I think it'd be a better story if you start with Hosea being the leader of the 3 then slowly leaning towards Dutch starting the gang as the other members slowly come in with John and Arthur having a small rivalry. I will say that it would be nice(if not the better story imo) to see how Jack turned out after the events of RDR and the dying off of gunslingers and going into a more evolving world with WW1 and things of that nature. You could bring in Charles and Sadie since they might still be alive. And this could also be him going after all the men that killed his father outside of Ross and discovering that his dad was actually a good man (like the way they had John talk to other strangers with them talking about Arthur) just like Arthur was (depending on how you played).
Hosea and Dutch do not have a father son relationship, their entire dynamic is being best friends. Arthur sees Hosea and Dutch as his fathers, Hosea even said during a mission once “the curious couple and their unruly son”. Hosea wouldn’t say that if he was a father figure to Dutch. Also Dutch was the leader of the gang, since the beginning. Hosea was more a conman, and the second in command. Also John and Arthur never had a rivalry, there was a ten year age gap between them, they were like brothers. Any “rivalry” they had was most likely just brotherly banter. Also it’s unlikely that Jack would go after anyone else, since Ross was the main guy that took down John, which is why Jack went after him first. Seeing Charles and Sadie would be cool though.
@@Ellis_nom None of this is even close to what I said. I said that if they were to make another prequel that this would be a cool dynamic to have, not that this is actually factual. "I think it'd be a better story if you start with Hosea being the leader of the 3 then slowly leaning towards Dutch starting the gang as the other members slowly come in with John and Arthur having a small rivalry." "The only issue I have is that Hosea is 11-12 years older than Dutch and would probably be a father figure to both Arthur and Dutch." Meaning at that age they would probably see him as one. With Jack, again, I stated that this would be a good story to continue down that path instead of another prequel.
@@jkmoop2 Don't be prissy, he is right, corrected your wrong reading, and rightly stated why it's a ludicrous idea the one of a sequel with Jack. Aldo, another story with the decline of the Old West... Wow, that's new, we didn't experience that exact theme twice exactly.
@@boybillythebutcher4575 wasn't being "prissy", just stated what was actually said. Instead of trying to be some sort of tag along, why not actually add to the conversation? He also didn't state that a sequel with jack was "ludicrous", but stated why he think it wouldn't be good in HIS EYES. I don't see why you're butt hurt over ideas that people have for more games that might come out. Relax.
I get that every character has an interesting backstory and I would love to know more about them, but the game still needs to have a main convincing, appealing story/journey. Without it, I feel the game will easily become an action-packed game with epic set peices but no real deep message behind. Like in rdr2, we get to know the journey that the Van der Linde gang went through together, the stories of rdr characters in their younger day. But on top of that, we witness the amazing redemption arc of a completely new character and it definitely is the winning point of the game. With Arthur Morgan, Rockstar set a really high bar for themselves to meet and beat.
Exactly, which is why I feel that they should make an entire new set of characters. They may be connected to some of the characters of the first 2 games, but they shouldnt be the same ones for the reasons you said. With RDR1, there is a lot of stuff we dont know about the gang. We dont know much of anything. RDR2 really tells us everything we wanted to learn about the gang and backstory, filling all the gaps and being an even better story than RDR1. But another game with the same gang would be pointless. It should also be set in the golden age of the wild west, like 1870s. New map as well, but I think that they should add parts of the rdr2 map as DLC/mission only maps. I was surprised at how much bigger RDR1's map felt than RDR2's. Maybe because travelling just felt slower, but it showed me that you don't need a huge map to accomplish the same feeling. I think a complete fresh start would be the best option for Rockstar, even though most fans are saying that they want an RDR3 which would be the beginning of the Van der Linde gang. People just dont know what they want sometimes.
@@Siduch. you’re dead on. All of the locations have some connection to but were more Midwest and the south. Next one you could connect all of it and go to the early days of San Andreas(California)and then the Arizona/Colorado/Nevada landscapes.
@@Siduch. yes, but it also talks about two other members of the game a little in the beginning of red dead redemption 2 Jenny Kirk, and Davey Callender after the black water mission. Also stating that Davey’s (brother I guess) Mac Callender was arrested by the Pinkertons. I think a story using them would be great, giving rockstar a new slate to build on while also giving a little insite about earlier stages of the gang
I like the idea of jack being in 3 bc by the time he got older he would be in mafia times no more cow boys throw sum in there like tha type shi it would be amazing fr no matter wha they do if they do anything it’s gonna be lit
RDR3 makes sense for the beginnings of Van der Linde gang. if we want new set of characters i do think its better it to have a new game rather than going after a diff story/characters.
I like the idea of playing as Mac but making his death as devastating and impactful as Arthur's or even John's would be a major challenge. Perhaps he sacrifices himself to let the rest of the gang get away and has a tender brotherly moment with a badly wounded Davey before making his final stand against the Pinkertons in a nod to both games where both death's involved a sacrifice to attempt to save others. Maybe this would give a bit more emotional depth to Davey's death as despite Mac's sacrifice it still was not enough to save Davey. This ties in perfectly with the theme of Arthur's death not being enough to save John in the long run and John's death not being enough to save Jack from the outlaw life.
I also had an idea of playing as Mac but Mac didn’t sacrifice himself and they already explained what happened to him. The pinkertons picked him up shortly after the blackwater ferry job and he was already wounded so his death was easy
@@dunder1231 But that was the widely held theory not fact. Perhaps the Pinkertons lied and he made a last stand where he died differently to what was described and he took out a few of them before they shot him down. It could show a very different version of events to what the gang were led to believe/told and a lot more heroic and tragic. Also Hosea and Arthur had no involvement in the ferry job so maybe Dutch propagates a different version of events. I mean he was prepared to abandon Arthur and John even if it meant their deaths. What's to say he wouldn't do the same with Mac? It can be done as long as the alternative makes sense and fits in with the cannon.
Man you put a lot of effort into this, I appreciate the passion RDR fans still have. We just can't let go of the Van Der Linde family, that sense of anarchist tribe that lives free nomadically speaks to a lot of people especially today in such dystopian times. I want to see Dutch's softer side to Annabelle, her death 100% affected him like crazy for him to have this much hate for Colm. Also 100% agree Mac Callander being important, I think they can have him play an emotional role where he uncovers a conspiracy finding out that Micha was a rat long before anyone else and martying himself for the gang.
The thing is with the van der lan young gang thing is we know colm and Leviticus Cornwall don’t die while we didn’t know Micah dies in the 2nd and Arthur and that goes with rdr1 to
You’ve done ALL of the work, so hopefully we don’t have to wait the estimated 10-15 years for them to make this happen. This is EXACTLY what I think the game should be. Including tacking on the Sadie event that led to her meeting the gang and the Blackwater debacle, leading up to RDR2. Great work, this was well done. RDR2 is the best game ever created! IMO
I doubt the MC would be hosea. Both games ended with the MC dying and we’re able to flesh their character out throughout the entire game. Hosea obviously won’t die at the end and we already know so much about him. I think a Charles centered game would be awesome, but still more likely to get one of the Calendar brothers, probably Mac since we see Davey die in the beginning of RDR2. Definitely expect a prequel though so we can finally see the ferry heist go wrong, and since it’s been repeatedly mentioned in both games already it would be the perfect climax to end the franchise on.
Red dead 3 should definitely be another prequel. I think it's really interesting to tell the story backwards, see things that were hinted at initially. And, the consistent graphical upgrades can even be seen as thematic, with each chronological progression producing a less shiny outlook on Rapscallions. RD3 (if a prequel) The prime of the bandit/outlaw scene. The land is beautiful and plentiful, robberies are simple, and life is good. RD2: Exiting the prime of bandits and outlaws getting off so easy as civilization encroaches at every turn. Robberies go wrong, feuds abound, but the outlaw spirit is still alive if marred. RD1: Bandits have no place in this land of civility, even former-bandits turned honest working men. Their time is passed.
@@SquadPoopy That's precisely what I mean. Have Red Dead 3 take place before the Blackwater Heist, where the only conflicts are those of the gang and other gangs. A couple run ins with Pinkertons, but mostly gang warfare. Maybe showcase Dutch and Colm's falling out, get to see some of the members that didn't make it in the beginning of red dead 2.
@@SquadPoopy I feel like they should use a whole different set of characters like read dead revolver having completely different characters from read dead redemption
For me, the perfect ending for a RDR2 prequel would be with the birth of Jack. I like the idea of the three generations of RDR protagonists in one final and heartwarming scene. I like the direction you took with your first concept, but I think this game wouldn't need Micah to appear in it, the game would show the gang at it's peak, and for me, Micah represents the gang's downfall. Edit: The thing I like the most about the Blackwater incident, is that there are multiple versions of the story and we never know what actually happened there, so I wouldn't like to see it in game. But I must admit, it would be an sick ass mission.
Something Arthur wasn’t involved in so I highly doubt they’ll make a mission that doesn’t involve one of the main characters and in this case 1 of the 3 characters you can play as. Edit: your going against yourself saying you want the blackwater mission but Micah not in the story, he was there during the blackwater incident while Arthur wasn’t so you have to 1. The mission where you play as Dutch and have Micah and that there with you and no Arthur or 2. Go against how they already written the story and get rid of Micah and have Arthur there in the black water incident which is horrible story writing which is probably the second best thing about red dead
After my playthrough of RD2.. This was almost EXACTLY my thoughts on how RD3 should play out. Rockstar would be dumb to not have this storyline. And I think it would make one of the best game trilogies in gaming history, and take the goat for storytelling. I really want to know what happened with blackwater... I would love playing that out. Awesome video. My thoughts on this are in line with yours.
Remember that Dutch didn’t know who Cornwall was until the train Roberry(Hosea tells him that Cornwall is not the man to be mess with. Arthur also didn’t know Milton nor Ross as he forgets their names(a fisher of man). So if Milton and Hosea had a backstory- Arthur and duch would have to be absolutely clueless and i don’t think that would be possible. It was still a great video tho.:)
I love this. Although I think it is specifically mentioned that Leviticus Cornwall was only interested in the end of the gang after they robbed his train right in the beginning of RDR2. Since it is heavily implied both parties didn't even know of each other before that event.
Would be nice to play as a young Hosea. We could deal with more of Dutch and Colm O'Driscoll's history. There is a TON of content that could be explored. How the gang formed, rather than how it fell apart or how they all died.
I seriously can't believe I never considered the third game being a prequel to the others. It's the best idea for this series I've heard and would be positively insane for the devs to pull off. Plus, I feel like it'd fit so well with the former games' themes of roots and fates and how they define (or do not) define us. God, I love the idea so much. Plus, I love these characters, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see them some more. It might be more difficult to make a compelling narrative when Dutch is more of a manipulator but not yet an 'enemy' the way he is in the current games, as I feel like for these games the idea of a more cut and dry bad guy would be a bit of a letdown -- I think a core piece of these games is their examination of what makes us good or bad and how blurred those lines can become. It'd be difficult to find a way to provide a compelling broad conflict without simply repeating the same beats we've seen before. But I definitely think it could be doable and if pulled off well would be incredibly satisfying for a series of stories like these. Definitely what I'm hoping to see, now, because it'd be a beautiful way to get across the series messages before moving beyond the trilogy.
I’d definitely like to see a 3rd game as you propose, however, until they get that done, I want a remaster of the first one with maybe an addition prologue section that covers how John gets picked up and separated from Abigail and Jack. As far as following someone besides any of the main group, I could see versions of RDR following Landon Ricketts, Sadie or Charles. Lots of possibilities!
Dutchs early days where he was clearly charismatic n talented enough to entice the likes of John n Arthur to join him makes me think Dutch had the potential to be the greatest cowboy of his day, Landon Ricketts is another good choice n tbh, I think Jack Marstons journey could be dope aswell, he'd be around the prohibition era I think n the beginning of the italian/sicilian migrants coming over that would lead on to become the mafia so wouldnt be a bad era at all I think, Jack n Dutch are the best picks though I think as in both cases it goes full cycle, in Dutchs case we would get to play his prime years when the West was truly at its wildest up until the Blackwater massacre n Jacks journey would kinda end the gangs journey as he was there in the beginning n then the end and also the end of the Wild West in general
A Red Dead Redemption 3 with Sadie would be hella interesting. In the end of RDR2's story, she fled to South America, possibly Brazil as it was mentioned several times during the game, and Brazil in the early 1900s was in general pretty much what the Wild West was in the 1880s to 1890s, the landscapes, the advance of civilization from east to west and northeast, it would be the Wild West trying to survive like in RDR2 but in the 20th century.
But still I think it would be great to end the storyline with a trilogy revolving the story of the characters we already know, just keep the flow RDR2 has created going
in my opinion, the story should be more focused around the prime of the gang, and the switchable characters would be Mac Callander, Davey Callander, and Arthur. The story should take off in some type of bar fight including Mac, Davey, and Arthur, switching between each of them in the brawl. The story should end off right as RDR2 starts, or maybe a little before. With one of the final missions being the Blackwater ferry heist.
For me i would like to focus on one character I don't like the way we could switch to another character like in GTA V That we have 3 character For me RDR2 story is far better than GTA V because i had more time with my character i play GTA V for fun and I don't have much emotion on this game on my first play through i only regret that i kill trevor so i decide to play again but GTA V still could not stand a chance compare to RDR2 for me
@@Uncle1899 same i think the 3 character worked for gta but red dead just seems a much more personal game with the horse bonding etc. it would suck having to use all kinds of dif horses etc for dif characters.
I think in order for the game to be playable after the main story is complete they couldn’t show what actually happened. I think they’d leave it with them planning the blackwater massacre, and then Rdr2 starts and they ask what went wrong…
It would be cool if that's where it ended. Them planning out the boat heist and maybe seeing what happened. If not red dead redemption 2 dlc of black water massacre.
I love this. I love the speculation on lore and there is much that could be done there. But for me, an RDR3 that follows Sadie congruently through the John era would absolutely phenomenal. She ends the epilogue with quite a bit of experience under her belt and has really begun to see the worst that the world has to offer with her past and also her currently life as a bounty hunter. But it wouldn’t be a Redemption game if there was an element of redemption. She lost so much already and the world of bounty hunting could definitely take her lower. There could be an amazing redemption arc in there.
This is exactly what I would expect for RDR3. Both 1&2 are masterpieces, so imagine a 3rd instalment to the Red Dead series. I wish that Rockstar would stop overhyping GTA online and focus on Red Dead!
Definitely like the idea of Mac being the protagonist. I feel that being Dutch wouldn’t add much sauce to the story as we already have a full picture of his life, yet Mac we don’t know much about apart from him being one of the most violent members of the gang AND he dies during the blackwater heist, which would probably be the end of RDR3. He seems like a way better protagonist than Dutch. While I would love to play as Dutch as this game would be taking place during his prime, Mac seems to be the best shot.
I didnt even consider Mac, he's a great choice, the few times he's described he could easily be a protag due to the pure talent for violence that he has, he could easily be made into a protag n protrayed as the groups original main man in terms of fighting/getting things done before he ultimately passes away
What about davey? He died right after the blackwater massacre due to a lethal injury, they wouldn't have to make up an entirely new model for him (we don't even know how mac looks like), and the last moments we would have as him would be watching everyone praying him to stay alive, only to fade away. Personally, i'd say davey would be even better.
@@VivianaSilverback I'd prefer Mac. We wouldn't even get to see Davey die, because he dies in Rdr2. And Davey dying at the start of Rdr2 wouldn't make a good ending for Rdr3. Think about it he just dies in the snow and then the credits role. I'd rather have Mac.
I would definitely like RDR3 to be a prequel focusing on the era of outlaws at its peak with a brand new protagonist who occasionally runs with the Van der Linde gang.
why not a story based on Landon Ricketts? he is a famous gunslinger in RDR universe. plus Rockstar introduced plenty of other interesting gangs that are mentioned in the story. the Jack Hall gang for example. or Otis Miller and his gang. and not to mention the former outlaws like Boy Colloway, Emmet Granger, Flaco Hernandez, etc.
@@LevisH21it would have it be a spin off though, when they title something RDR3 we think of the van der Linde gang or jack Marston not some random completely foreign gang to us that would pretty much have nothing to do with The RDR franchise
I’d love to play as a younger Hosea, he had a ton of hinting backstory in rdr2, you could have a rowdier, younger Arthur and Dutch be involved, see more of Arthur vs John feuding. If Dutch wasn’t so irredeemable it’d be cool to play as him and be in charge of the gang and new characters. the opportunity of expanding Arthur John and hosea’s stories would be so bittersweet.
First of all Dutch wasnt as rowdy inmthe beginning and also was very muchredeemable and in the end he wasnt wrong about the government. He told John they'll get rid of the old world and in the end there leaves you. They end up killing John in the mend same way He taught Arthur and John everything for a reason and in the end couldn't follow his own beliefs as well as he used to.
I feel like the third one would most likely take place after the events of one. I wouldn’t want story about an adult jack Marston but it would be cool to see Sadie and Charles again. A prequel of 2 would be cool too because we could see Dutch watch as Lyle Morgan’s gang falls apart like Arthur watched Dutch’s gang fall apart in 2.
My idea for Rdr3 is that you play as Sadie and it takes place in between rdr1 and 2, and it's more focused on bounty hunting, because Sadie is a bounty hunter by the end of rdr2. And maybe it could take place in South America, because that's where she's says she wants to go by the end credits, or to keep the same area, and if they keep the same area, the focus of the game is getting enough money to travel down there.
@@Echo-zj1lz that's not what I'm saying, you saw how ruthless she could be, and plus it's just a concept. but instead of being an outlaw, maybe being an bounty hunter, or both.
If they have will even make a new red dead game, it definitely wouldn’t be this universe, with the gang. It will probably a new universe with new characters and everything.
Definitely appreciate all the work you put in man. For me, I'd actually like to have it be like some shows/movies where they time jump from current to past times. The forming of the gang around the timeline you cover and present times with Jack, who'd actually left the criminal life, being hunted by the feds and being helped to survive by Sadie and Charles with the whole thing sort of narrated by a fed breaking down the whole story which would also include the gap in time between the last camp in rdr2/Arthur's death and the epilogue that shows how surviving gang members went into their new lives.
Imagine u get to play as dutch before the blackwater incident and u travel across the land with ur gang were robberies weren’t rare and would be cool to see how the gang fell apart before because something definitely happened before with micah and dutch
Your first idea for the third game is so good! It would really tie the sack together and make us even more involved with the red dead series. Rockstar also need to show respect for what the players want, and mainly that is to play as Arthur, Hosea and Dutch.
What I find perfect about Mac Callander possibly being the main character of RDR3, we don't know what happens while he ran off. Charles once told Arthur "Vicious pair of bastards and that's all they'll ever be", but what if he was wrong? What if Mac's redemption occurs during the time he escapes Blackwater? Sounds interesting.
That's What i think Is going to happen in another RDR: seeing Mac Callander as a playable protagonist! Why? It's perfect, we don't know his appearance, so we could style him with long hair and beard and so on. Same think goes so for the outfits and the horse
I think RDR3 should be about Arthur’s father. It would follow him doing petty crimes leading up to him doing more and more crimes that are getting progressively bigger in scale. In between, he would meet Dutch and Hosea where eventually they come up with one huge heist. Dutch and Hosea would get away and young Arthur would see his father get caught and eventually hanged. Then, in the epilogue, Arthur would find Dutch and Hosea and join their gang. We could see the gang in its early days and play as Arthur. This would end in the gang doing the heist as written in Arthur’s tent in camp where they hand out the money that they made.
I recently finished rdr2 and am now in the "devouring everything online" phase of it lol. This video was fantastic. I soooooooo want a 3rd game and id pay to play it exactly as you laid it out.
This man knows what he's talking about. 'Specially the bit about Hosea and Milton having a personal history. And also the one about the story ending with Rdr1. Much as I feel Jack would be a great character to play, and holy crap he looks cool, the ending of rdr1 is the perfect ending to the series.
Only problem with prequels (or a good thing depending on what you want) is there is always another story to go down and also an ending known. We all knew John survived the end of rdr2, as well as Uncle, Abigail, and Jack, and most importantly Dutch. It could lead to some really interesting stories or some very predictable ones.
i don't understand why you would spoil your story at all. it was a big risk making a sequel and a story based game where you already know what is going to happen could have some realy dull moments. nothing would be at stake tbh playing as the character he highlighted. i want a fresh and new ending with maybe some of the old gang tied in, like a chapter or two
@@paperbackwriter19 honestly I would say jack is the move but I think the lesson at the end of rdr is that no one is redeemable because that isn’t a human thing. We all make mistakes and sometimes no matter the sacrifices we will make some that our parents did. Rdr2 and the original isn’t about a perfect ending. John is a perfect example of it. You think he deserves the best life after all he did to correct his wrong doings but in the end his past mistakes catch up with him. Same with Arthur ofc. Also the idea that doing multiple acts makes you a bad or good person is also not a human concept. Pure bad guys and pure good guys are a rarity in reality a lot of the time. John killed but he had a family so we see it as a sacrifice, same for Arthur. Yet they both are criminals and morally damaged people even if they learn more but never in full in the end. That is the message of the games and go continue would make it less impactful. Sorry didn’t mean for this to be so ranty lol. I just don’t know how they could capture another story that steals you in the same way.
@@Tails1 says who it doesn't have to be a perfect ending? i would consider rdr2's ending to be perfect as it ties up lose wneds. and with jack what story is there left to tell. sure we could go on about how the west was becoming more and more civilized but oh wait, we already had that in rdr2/ jack was just giving closure and showing the cycle of violence, as well as a free roam mode in rdr1. it would also be the 1920s, and that time period is alien to what would be considered the west.
In my opinion Jack is more representative of the west itself. Everyone tried to tame it and in a way did, but in the end you cannot tame what is ultimately free. It’s
If the introduction of red dead redemption 3 Start with Arthur and hosea saving the gang from the boat of blackwater then go back to young Arthur or Davy Calendar or Mike. I think Rock Star could do amazing job to build another characters as they did with Arthur and make us love him more than John . Every think possible
it would be awesome if as Dutch you can choose between multiple heists, camp locations and who you trust/dont trust and with every choice you completely change the way the story progresses while still sticking to the events that are talked about in rdr2
I'd love this, especially exploring the brotherhood between John and Arthur. It was implied they were good friends growing up -- but after John left for a year when Abigail gave birth to Jack, Arthur arguably never saw him the same (until the latter part of RDR2). EDIT: I'd also argue Jack's fate is up for debate. His goal was to hunt down Ross for killing his father, and while he did become a "killer" -- Jack managed to become the most principled of them all. I always liked to imagine he escaped to Mexico (since you already cross the border to kill Ross) and became a famous writer -- maybe finally being the family man John could never be to him (altough he tried). I know the games are only loosely connected, but in GTA5 you can see a book written by a J. Marston called "Red Dead". I like to imagine his fate turned out better than anyone before him.
If we get a Red Dead 3, it totally has to focus on Landon Ricketts since he was only mentioned in 2 (which was understandable given that Ross Hagen died shortly after the first game), but it would be awesome to play as him in his prime. As well as seeing other characters from the franchise like Leigh Johnson, who was also absent from 2.
I bet this was an awesome video and a great story but frankly when I saw tiny Arthur just bolting through the streets ramming ppl and sending them flying I pretty much lost it and couldn`t stop laughing throughout the whole clip missing everything that was said.
@@JokerSaintsRow nah nah m8 trust u couldn’t have done a better job than this :D it be awesome to see (and even “awesomest” to play as) a whole play through of RDR 2 with that char model and to have Arthur only interact with the “antagonise” option. It would really add to the believability of him having anger issues XD
This video is great and the person who made it is great at storytelling. I don’t know how this video doesn’t have more views and you don’t have more subscribers because it takes a certain amount of talent to make these types of videos
I feel like if rdr3 happpened the story would probably be about dutch, hosea and arthur but when they first made the gang and then they would teach arthur about being a gunslinger and then it would reveal some plot about finding and rescuing all of the current members of the gang and recruiting them so you see how they ended up in the van der linde gang
Yeah, based off of a lot of the conversations Arthur has with some of the gang, him and Hosea talk about how he used to be a better man, the gang used to help people and Dutch wouldn’t kill just to kill. I assume he was a “good” man in the same way Arthur is in RDR2.
He was kind of a good guy at the first. It’s like Sadie said towards the end, something along the lines of, “He’s not the same man that put that warm blanket over me when we first met.” (I don’t know the exact line so nobody jump on me over that)
i think it could be badass to have another prequel with a young arthur and john just barely old enough to fight, and the epilogue section in that game shows what really happened at the ferry job
I loved this idea. I’ve personally been thinking I’d like to experience the early days of the gang through hoseas eyes. The game beginning just a few months into Dutch’s and Hoseas’s friendship during one of their cons. It would include Arthur’s entry into the gang and how he rose to be one of the most important members, johns entry and mrs grimshaws. Plus you’d have Hoseas relationship with Bessie as a driving partner of the plot. Considering it’s during the gangs prime, you wouldn’t need a redemption or depressing ending either, the happier nature of the game would probably make the rdr 2 and 1 even more emotional, seeing how far they fell. I think it should be titled red dead rebellion considering Dutch saw the gang as revolutionaries against the system. Personally though, I don’t think they should ever show the blackwater massacre, the whole reason it works is because it has this mystery to it and you’re told about how bad it was, a complete slaughter that killed three of the gang members, wounded multiple others and had another captured. If it it was shown to us, the mystery would be gone and it would just look like another shootout we’ve seen a thousand times before in the series. It’s best to be left to the imagination imo especially considering the events surrounding Dutch shooting that innocent woman are vague and open to interpretation without us seeing the massacre
I think just having Dutch as the main character would be perfect as it then makes the story of Red Dead about passing the torch and cycle of criminality onto the next generation. You play as Dutch and then Arthur at the end, which segways into the beginning of Red Dead 2.
No it wouldn’t the reason why story’s are so good including Arthur and Johns is because the anticipation of what will happen next just knowing how Dutch ends would make it useless a fun concept but a useless story we need it as Jack and before you say you can’t make a western game modern I mean 1911 isn’t exactly western either
Another Prequel? How much of the story do u need to know? The game should finish here. Rockstar will ruin the red dead series if they add another game, gta 6 and the next bully should get made and released
@@LankyLanc03 well cry about it cuz us fans want more red dead games n GTA it's what sells and rockstar always makes amazing stories so RDR 3, GTA 6 will happen whether u like it or not but you'll still buy it sooo
@@theoutsiderjess1869 it won't be bad bruh cuz the old west is dead after 1911 they can't build nothing more out of that, they keep talking about the wide open west in RDR 2 that we never truly saw it
I want RDR3 to be about Uncle. Yes Uncle. He constantly alludes to having been a "strong man" back in his prime or a gunslinger of some renown. Now weather or not this is just the bragging of a drunk not to be taken seriously, or perhaps all we know is the broken remains of a once proud man would be fun to explore. Especially with the popular fan theory that Uncle is Red Harlow the protagonist from the original Red Dead Revolver. Imagine seeing further west of new Austin, old towns like Brimstone that most modern fans of the franchise probably don't even know exist. And piecing together even in only a spiritual sense the original IP with the eventual Reboot that Redemption was. Seeing just what he was up to before falling in with the Van Der Lin gang. Edit: And to add to this instead of a literal death like in RdR and RdR 2, we'd see a figurative death. Of Red, if we use this line of thinking that Uncle is in fact Harlow, from a bounty hunter/ lawman into Uncle, someone who clearly has no respect for the workings of the world. This wouldn't be too hard since as the sun set over the wild west era, corruption spring up en mass, sheriff's basically extorting the towns they where supposed to protect, the U.S/ Indian conflicts, and the beginnings of the civil war. I imagine all that turmoil would turn a young hopeful man into someone much less enthusiastic to help a system that probably seemed to be doing much more harm then good out on the frontier.
As soon as you mentioned the name Mac Callender, I was like Yes! The protagonist of RDR3 should be someone we don't already know. Also, I like to think that Colm O'Driscoll was at one point a member of the Van Der Linde gang, but his methods were too aggressive and brought unwanted attention to the gang. He was exiled from the gang, which eventually led to the blood feud. I like the idea of building up the Van der Linde gang.
Mac last word to Dutch Mac:There to many of them we can’t outrun them. If they keep chasing us they’ll kill us all. Dutch:Come on we gotta try look I have a plan… Mac:No Dutch! I have a plan(Mac take a slow breath) I’ll distract them go round up everyone and get as far away from this hell place and don’t look back.
The only thing some people may not like to play as a bad bad person cause if I remember correctly, Mac didn’t have so much good honour outside of the gang, that’s how people described him in rdr2, a killer with no empathy but still enjoyed the gang. So it can’t be a Redemption game since he never had a redemption.
@MartinG91 I agree completely with your first sentence, just not for Mac Callander. I think the protagonist of RDR3 should be a unseen character, but not only unseen, unestablished. Look, I only slightly get why people want Mac as the next MC so much, but other than inserting a copy-paste of Arthur's sacrifice for him during the BW Massacre which might've not happened, I don't see much reason for him to be in that role. -I think the protagonist should be someone who not a member of the gang but strongly allied with them or even a short-time member. He runs with another gang (O'Driscolls) and has a family of supporting cast but he grows closer towards Dutch's gang because his ideals and virtues inspire him to be a better person as someone who's only been a hardened criminal his whole life. Their main inner conflict starts when his allegiances are torn between the gang that once saved him but only ever as a hired gun and the gang that were only people that ever treated him right and fairly. His end comes after trying to prevent both gangs from taking a job that he knows is a trap set by the law and Colm thinking that he's trying to sabotage them to help Dutch's gang which he knows he's been getting close to. -I believe this is better for two reasons: 1. It keeps the story fresher by introducing an MC who's not a member of the old cast and thus you don't already know his fate and is also close enough to them that we can see the gang in its prime like many fans want to from his perspective. He can be newly imagined e.g; a former slave or a Mexican who crossed the border who is rescued by the O'Driscolls only because he's able to shoot or a character hinted at like Colm's brother or the traitor Arthur mentions they once killed, hell whichever way they go they can all fit as the traitor who was wrongly accused of betraying Dutch.
This sounds awesome! I'd also love to see the scene where Dutch meets Javier and how he got The Count, since RDR2 mentioned how only he's the only one who can ride him
This is absolutely brilliant. I wish you were working on this in reality. I really hope you’re not far off of what may be in the works behind the scenes. Either way, thank you for providing such creativity to what could be. Much love!
If red dead 3 does happen I wouldn’t mind the game ending with them walking into blackwater before the heist and the screen kinda pauses or goes black and you hear everything go down cause rockstars whole thing with the boat heist has been keeping it mysterious
I think it needs to follow the rdr game structure a bit more. In both games, you get a really good first protagonist who eventually is killed and traded for a different gang member / family member who would start the game set after it. for example, rdr2 ends with john and rdr 1 starts with john so if rdr3 was another prequel, Arthur would have to be the second protagonist and Rockstar would have to make up another old character to begin the game as. That took an awful long time to type lol
What I think would be a cool path to go down would be the stories of the famous gunslingers that Arthur comes across during the time of RDR2. We only got to hear snip bits of their past for the book that Calloway was writing and it would go very well with the telling a story deeper in time in the old west and also present a different perspective than what we have now.
Nice video! Making a prequel of RDR2 would be a great idea but making an entirely new story would also be an exciting prospect. I still wanna see what happened to Jack Marston after Red Dead Redemption 1 since he is only surviving member of the gang.
@@DocumentarianWeady Sadie went to South America most likely as a bounty hunter while Charles went north possibly to Canada but if there is a DLC about either in the future that would be great. Maybe Rockstar will include the end of their stories in the next RDR game
Tbh. I wanna play as a new character. I wanna know who was Davy, when he died his death seemed to honestly hit the crew really hard according to Arthur's journel . I would personally love to play as Dutch and learn the back story with him , annabell , colm and such because they seem to go way back and not just rival gangs. Wouldnt be surprised if Colm was apart of the crew at some point in time since he also seems familiar Arthur and a few of the vanderlin members
I appreciate how much work went into this video, and obviously none of us really know what could truly be the best story for RDR3. I love the idea of seeing the gang at its prime and getting to play as Dutch would be really interesting, as forming the gang into what we see in RDR2 sounds awesome. But the problem is that a story like that which spans more than 20 years with multiple plots going on would be very difficult to pull off, compared to the plots of RDR1 and 2 that did well bc they focused on specific time periods and had a singular goal for each character's motivation (Arthur= doing what's necessary for the safety of the people he cares about, John= killing his former gang members to get his family back). Prequels are supposed to add meaningful, new context to the initial story. The problem I have when people mention that RDR3 should go even further back in time is that (like you mentioned in the video) it's very repetitive and unnecessary. The entire plot of RDR2 wasn't even a concept when they made RDR1 and John never went into depth about anything except for his family's history and the three former gang members he goes after. In a case like that, RDR2's plot successfully added more substance to RDR1's plot by giving us a story about sacrifice in a different form, with Arthur impacting so many people's lives and being the sole reason for John and his family escaping the gang. Having a story showing the formation of the gang/during the gang's prime doesn't add any more context to the lore of the characters/story that we didn't already know and doesn't enrich RDR2 or RDR1's story bc we already see a bit of what the gang's prime was like in the earlier chapters of RDR2. We get to hear all of that information throughout RDR2, so there's no need to tread those same points. And I also don't think playing as a character like Landon Ricketts would be beneficial either, as he really had no connection to the gang except for knowing about them in passing and meeting John much later, so that doesn't really follow the main plot-line of the whole series- the Marston family leaving their old, outlaw lifestyle behind. Lastly, I'm not sure what kind of dynamic story arc playing as Mac Callander would have, besides seeing the gang in its prime (which again, would be repetitive). Unlike John and Arthur, the Callander boys had little impact on the Van der Linde gang at all, even Jenny had more of an impact bc Lenny had a crush on her. All we know about Mac and Davey was that they were violent and brutal, and the other gang members don't really mention them too fondly. Although those two characters were essentially a part of the gang, I think their inclusion in the story were just small plot devices, and they don't impact the Marston family at all. Davey's death at the start of the game was used to set the tone of the situation, and Mac's death being mentioned was just to make the situation tense between Arthur and Agent Milton when he was fishing with Jack. I think the only direction for RDR3 to go would be to continue following the Marston family, like the other games. That would mean having an older and smarter Jack Marston as the protagonist in the late 1920s, with him in the middle of trying to make a life for himself in a modernized world while trying to avoid the legal consequences of him killing Edgar Ross (since Edgar's brother and wife would know the name of who exactly killed him, making Jack a wanted man by the Bureau of Investigation). The 'redemption' part of the game's title would be him finding some sort of stable life and starting a family, but he might end up getting caught and arrested for the crime that he committed when he was only a teenager. But who knows, it would still be awesome if Rockstar successfully pulled off a prequel to RDR2, possibly as a DLC like someone else suggested.
I love this. I was going to do a bit on if there should be no rdr3 at all, but that got scrapped. I do state that I wouldn’t like a new story because I am very interested in the backstory of Dutch. And yes, I do talk about Mac Callander. As you said tho, there would be no point in any of these.. which I partly agree with. However, the part where you give me that Jack bit is what bothers me. I’ve basically already stated my point of why it shouldn’t be a sequel to rdr1 as the wild Wild West era is basically just dead at that point, meaning no point of cowboy and yeehaw. And I do like how you point out Landon and how that would be pointless because he barely had a connection with the van see linde gang, but still was partly involved with the story having the argument of “new storyline” which I get. If there is no point in any of these then there shouldn’t be an rdr3? Or it should focus on Jack? Which isn’t that true to the entire point of the franchise? If none of these make any sense.. then the obvious route that rockstar would take this is with an entirely new storyline. Which I initially saw coming. But I believe it wouldn’t be right as everyone loves Arthur and wants him back or whatever and also wants to experience the whole backstory of THAT story! And that’s basically my idea. If I just made a video saying, hey guys rdr3 is going to be a new storyline yay, then there is no art behind that? You see, the point of this video doesn’t just say, OK THIS IS WHAT I WANT RDR3 TO BE, nonono the point is to also showcase the backstory of what we already know. I obviously want them to add a lot and expand upon this story exactly like they did with rdr1. But as you explain, it’s pointless… If we already know what happened then it shouldn’t happen. I think they will add more ALOT more than the backstory. But that’s ONLY my opinion and I respect yours, so thank you for your comment!
@@JokerSaintsRow I definitely would be fine if they never make an RDR3, especially since Jack's story wouldn't have the same type of setting as RDR2 or even RDR1 (but I still wish we could see more of Jack, bc he's basically a blank slate with so many opportunities for good storytelling). I just wanted to mention my idea, but realistically I'm not sure if that could even be pulled off. And I agree, if they want to veer away from the Marston family and have a new character and story altogether, it should be made into its own game, like how Red Dead Revolver isn't at all connected to the RDR series. Thanks for reading my comment and sharing your thoughts!
@@watersnortmoment3734 I agree. like Red Dead Revolver that's not connected to the main series, maybe they could change the last word in the title so people don't complain abt the series not maintaining the same tone throughout.
I think all of this would be a bit too much to put into one game. I'd love to see a pre-prequel to RDR, but maybe only from the perspective of Hosea as he's the one who undergoes the most character development, same way Arthur does in RDR2, and it could end with the blackwater incident. Either that or we could have a game where we play as Jack, and for once, maybe he could have a happy ending.
Fantastic idea and if Rockstar/Take2 ever see this they should seriously consider it. Going back all that way leading up to the Blackwater massacre would be amazing. It would also highlight just how bad the betrayal from Dutch towards Arthur was in the end.
I actually realllly like this idea. The story is definitely there for it. Ripe af for a prequel to RDR2. As the story progressed I always wondered more and more about the beginnings of the gang and seeing them all in their prime sounds like another awesome journey. 👏🏻
That's exactly what I think too, it makes more sense, but at the same time it's hard to know if they'll choose to go back further, because there are several arcs to be explored. With the dialogues throughout the game, I noticed that there is something "ready" to be explored in the next game. Even little is said about Davey Callander and Jenny, what if we controlled Davey? I don't know, but that's what I'm talking about, there's a lot of things that can be explored back there, especially the gang formation, and the old guard. By the way, looking at Rockstar today, it is difficult to know if we will have a next RDR and if we do, it will take a long time.
And the story could be told in eyes of Landon Ricketts (since he is the old Legendary gun-slinger character from RDR-1 teaching John how to shoot in Chuparosa) because Ricketts was in Blackwater when Dutch & gang did the bank-job robbery & ship massacre..
I’ve always thought it would be great to have another prequel. The main story can be about the rat in the gang that Arthur mentions they killed before rdr2. You could play as a different character each chapter as you discover this rat has betrayed the gang and the final chapter play as Arthur who has to find the rat and bring him back to the camp to face justice. Then the Epilogue would be called ‘Blackwater’ and be all about the ferry heist, here you would play as Dutch. The final scene would be Dutch sending Arthur ahead to find Colter which would lead directly into rdr2. Not saying it’s perfect but it’s something I think they could get a good story from.
@@icommitarson personally i think a sequel to RDR1 would be the best, maybe set in 1917 (the epilogue being in 1919) The feds come for Jack as well and after he is finally caught (in the late game) he is drafted into ww1 (like alot of gunlsingers were) and lives on after the war. It could also transfer the Franchise into the mafia genre with the introduction of portable fully automatic weapons and propper cars.
Damn this is awesome dude! Rockstar needs fire some people and hire new one's like you. I wish they would add more to RDR2's storyline, it's such a masterpiece of a game. I'm not a fan of the online version, the world feels empty and it's boring.
I really like this! I've always seen this series in five parts, and to me, this feels like a final game. Here's what I would do: Part 3: Play as Either Mac or Davie. Rockstar is at its best when they are creating original characters. As we learn these folks died in blackwater at the start of part 2, they are clean slates for rockstar to give us a kick ass story and we can finally see the blackwater massacure for ourselves. Also, I think we could see a lot of Arthur's story through the lens of another character similiar to how we see John's development through Arthur in part 2. Part 4: Jump ahead in time to follow Sadie or Charles. Maybe explore a different reigion during this time period (for example, would love to see some more nothern settings, Jerimiah Johnson style) Part 5: Your video. ETA: I ignorrantly commented before watching your video till the end. I think a story about playing as the less violent Callendar boys would be enthralling. It would be like Hell or High Water! As for not intersecting till the end? I think they could easily portray the brothers as being part of the gang for a couple of years before blackwater.
Honestly, expanding on the map would be the best. If this game were to be made, it would be possible to just expand on the map to the north. If possible make an entire US to explore, or at least giant part of it, like to the western coast like California and Oregon something.
Jack did grow up to be a good man, in the passing of time he had to get his revenge as anyone would. Killing a man that killed your father and practically caused all your uncles and aunts deaths. Arthur and John murdered a lot of good people and bad people, robbing as well along the way, Jack only has to kill 1 man to live out his life peacefully
I know thank you for this BUT my point isn’t he turns out to have a good life and become a good man. My point is to show how John never wanted this! Especially if he’s in the void with Arthur, I’m sure they talk about it. It was revenge yes it was necessary but John’s plan wasn’t for that to happen even after the midst of dying, it doesn’t matter now because the deed has already been done.
If you've ever seen the movie "Lawless" from 2012 it shows that RDR3 could exist in the 20's and still have a western genre feeling. I think ultimately it would be a mistake not to conclude Jack's story. The Red Dead Redemption series could be about the Marsten family and its origins and ultimate demise or conclusion. Rockstar has other Red Dead games like Red Dead Revolver that can continue the cowboy outlaw western era of things. I think seeing Rockstars take on WW1 and the prohibition era in a back woods setting would be an amazing experience and this is really their only opportunity with a legit reason to do so.
This is the exact idea i preach whenever this topic comes up. A take on Jack's life after the gang will finally show us if what Arthur and John sacrificed was for nothing or if Jack finally achieves his redemption and ends the cycle of violence. The push back i get on this idea baffles me. It really feels like the perfect and only conclusion to the story
@@wyattbhoffman The redemption games are bout breaking the cycle of violence. Arthur tried by making sure John survived. John fell back into it to make sure Jack survived. Jack ultimately followed to same path. Learning whether or not he breaks the cycle and achieves his "redemption" really seems like the best way to end the story. Another prequel doesn't end anything. We'll just be left with more questions. The story needs an end. And the end is the only part of the story left to tell
Honestly I like that but only if they did that. But I still like the end we see jack falling into the same thing his dad did and then end. Its poetic a bit. But I wouldn't mine seeing jack again even if just a small DLC
A story on uncle when he was younger would be interesting especially how in the story he talks about how in his youth they used to call him the one shot kid. Also Javier and how escaped Mexico and became the most wanted man their would make a good story too
I like the idea of playing as Dutch. All 3 would be cool to but if you think about it. Each game brings us a bigger fish as a character, no offence to John. We start of with John who is certainly loved by the crew. And then the next game we have Arthur who is Dutch’s right hand man. The 3rd game would be perfect if the main character is Dutch
I feel like adding another major main character would be great and you could play the game with them when the story ends. A character that was a major contributor to the origins of the Van der Linde gang and escapes or leaves the gang during the Blackwater Massacre and leaves with a significant amount of money would be a good idea.
You decide…
Edit 1/25/23: Thank you all so much for ONE MiLLiON ViEWS!!! I am so grateful for all of you watching my video from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU!!! 🙏

Red dead redemption 3 should be a sequel to red dead redemption set in about 1916 and you play as Charles, Sadie, or Jack.
There is no point going back because we already know what happens

I was just thinking so, and the game should end at blackwater..

Did you forget the moment when Ross and the other guy Milton or something(I forgot his name) offered Arthur freedom for turning in Dutch?

his last family, the blackwater incident that started the gangs downfall, dutchs backstory and how he formed the gang, how he got such a massive bounty
so much potential
It was between Jack and Abigail:
Jack: "When I'll grow up, I'll be a gunslinger!"
Abigail: "Over my dead body! You'll become a lawyer. You will do the hanging, not the swinging!"
My quotes might be a bit off, but it was definitely about this topic. The epilogue of RDR1 began in 1914, after Jack has buried Abigail. Only then did he start coming for Ross.
Also, they can even make a story that Jack was trained by Sadie/Charles after John died.
@@nickdentoom1173 charles moved to canada, it would most likely be sadie
To be honest I like to imagine after jack kills ross he just IMMEDIATELY puts down his revolver and retires as a gun man on the spot basically, he knows that they never wanted him to end up like them and as such basically just kills Ross in a duel, and immediately goes home to live the rest of his days in peace
i honestly think that Jack committed suicide after killing Ross
nothing here to be true, just my theory
I love how for the young Arthur, you literally just made him smaller, like he still looks like an adult but just comically small, like I saw a video of someone using mods to play as Jack Marston, and at one point used the mod to make Jack adult sized but still using the kid model

Personally, I think sticking to one character would be better as it creates a stronger bond (the player and Arthur), but exploring how the gang started and developed would be a great way to approach RDR3. Well done on your video, so much effort was put into it!
I see you’re more on the Mac Callander side? Thank you so much! 🙏
I feel like if Dutch becomes the main character, it’ll be the last rdr game. Only because both 1 and 2 Dutch is always an antagonist if that makes sense? It just seems like a final ending type thing
But honestly I really want a RDR remake.
"I think it'd be a better story if you start with Hosea being the leader of the 3 then slowly leaning towards Dutch starting the gang as the other members slowly come in with John and Arthur having a small rivalry."
"The only issue I have is that Hosea is 11-12 years older than Dutch and would probably be a father figure to both Arthur and Dutch." Meaning at that age they would probably see him as one.
With Jack, again, I stated that this would be a good story to continue down that path instead of another prequel.
Isn’t Arthur 10 years older then John, for a little
@@jkmoop2 Don't be prissy, he is right, corrected your wrong reading, and rightly stated why it's a ludicrous idea the one of a sequel with Jack.

Actually jack became a writer so John did save him
Don't worry Davey will appear in RDR 3. A great Rifleman, that he can help Dutch Van Der Linde until the end.
So basically you want RDR3 to make millions of people cry again? Lol

I think it would have to be some other thing Mac uncovers, since Micah became a rat after Guarma to my knowledge.

It's already a trilogy. The first was RD Revolver.
THIS could be the best game in the making if made right
At 2 games I'm kinda tired of the "death of the wild west" era. I'd love to see a game set during the prime of the Wild West.
@@SquadPoopy That's precisely what I mean. Have Red Dead 3 take place before the Blackwater Heist, where the only conflicts are those of the gang and other gangs. A couple run ins with Pinkertons, but mostly gang warfare.

Lots of possibilities!
nah it qould be better to end the storyline with the 3 games and do a trilogy remaster like for the nathan drake collection
@@nface3673I think it’s better to have a remaster before 3 since the first is only officially accessible on Xbox and ps3
in my opinion, the story should be more focused around the prime of the gang, and the switchable characters would be Mac Callander, Davey Callander, and Arthur. The story should take off in some type of bar fight including Mac, Davey, and Arthur, switching between each of them in the brawl. The story should end off right as RDR2 starts, or maybe a little before. With one of the final missions being the Blackwater ferry heist.
I was thinking the same thing, I was like maybe Mac and Davey Callender would be one the next protagonist
For me i would like to focus on one character I don't like the way we could switch to another character like in GTA V
That we have 3 character For me RDR2 story is far better than GTA V because i had more time with my character i play GTA V for fun and I don't have much emotion on this game on my first play through i only regret that i kill trevor so i decide to play again but GTA V still could not stand a chance compare to RDR2 for me
@@Uncle1899 oh yea for sure, I was trying to say one of those two
@@Uncle1899 same i think the 3 character worked for gta but red dead just seems a much more personal game with the horse bonding etc. it would suck having to use all kinds of dif horses etc for dif characters.
But you cant find a connection to Mac. It would be great to just focus on Hosea .
I’d for sure love that, I’d love to see The big 3 in their younger days, as well as see what happened in the black water massacre.
I think in order for the game to be playable after the main story is complete they couldn’t show what actually happened. I think they’d leave it with them planning the blackwater massacre, and then Rdr2 starts and they ask what went wrong…
I say get away from the gang and start as a whole new character. Prime Wild West Mexico.
It would be cool if that's where it ended. Them planning out the boat heist and maybe seeing what happened. If not red dead redemption 2 dlc of black water massacre.
id love to see the gang in his glory days when Aurthurs Father was still alive and we played as him, that woyld be beautiful.
2:26 Shaun's hair loool and the miniature Arthur running around Blackwater was hilarious 😭😭😭😂😂😂😂
@@VivianaSilverback And in Rdr2 the gang portrays Mac as a badass.

The "UNCLE IS RED HARLOW NOW PROVE ME WRONG!!!" part was funny 😂
This is what I've thought should happen for rdr3. Nice to see someone with a nearly identical idea😊
@@Mickeyil222 That would be amazing
@@Echo-zj1lz that's not what I'm saying, you saw how ruthless she could be, and plus it's just a concept. but instead of being an outlaw, maybe being an bounty hunter, or both.
If they have will even make a new red dead game, it definitely wouldn’t be this universe, with the gang. It will probably a new universe with new characters and everything.
I don’t think that would work cuz by that time it was 1917 ish and the world was becoming modern. There really was no Wild West after the early 1900s
Wow! Niceee 👌💯
Mac ... Jack
@@Gravelgratious What happened to Mac? Is he in jail? This line from Jack made me cry
That's What i think Is going to happen in another RDR: seeing Mac Callander as a playable protagonist! Why? It's perfect, we don't know his appearance, so we could style him with long hair and beard and so on. Same think goes so for the outfits and the horse
Well mac did give arthur his horse so he could escape from blackwater.
I would also love if mac actually survived and didn't die considering how ironic it would be
"...and being a completly bad kid on the streets"

Oh yeah this dude was spot on!! I literally wanna play it now lol
Great idea and video. Ty for taking the time to make it visual. Would not have had the same effect without it.
I just don’t know how they could capture another story that steals you in the same way.

jack was just giving closure and showing the cycle of violence, as well as a free roam mode in rdr1. it would also be the 1920s, and that time period is alien to what would be considered the west.
It can still work out. Maybe have new characters who can possibly appear in a future game with Jack Martson, a way to bring it all around.
In my opinion Jack is more representative of the west itself. Everyone tried to tame it and in a way did, but in the end you cannot tame what is ultimately free. It’s

I mean, the J. Marston doesn't even have to be Jack though. It can also be a Mary Beth pen name, in honor of John.
If I had to choose your badass storyline for RDR3 or GTA 6 I would choose RDR3 and your story I TOTALLY agree
I was thinking the same with Landon Ricketts! Such a cool character in the first red dead - there should be more about him :)

It’d be pretty cool to see Dutch fully play the good guy in a red dead game. I know they’re outlaws but you know what I mean
Yeah, based off of a lot of the conversations Arthur has with some of the gang, him and Hosea talk about how he used to be a better man, the gang used to help people and Dutch wouldn’t kill just to kill. I assume he was a “good” man in the same way Arthur is in RDR2.
@@RoscoMontana21 just another “you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain”
Well if it ends with the Blackwater massacre it might end with Dutch's morality meter a couple notches to the left in the red.
Would love to see how good he was until the death of his lover by the O Driscoll gang. That might be the spark that starts Dutch's descent to madness.
Excluding the Massacre would actually work, too- Hosea was absent
I think just having Dutch as the main character would be perfect as it then makes the story of Red Dead about passing the torch and cycle of criminality onto the next generation.
You play as Dutch and then Arthur at the end, which segways into the beginning of Red Dead 2.
No it wouldn’t the reason why story’s are so good including Arthur and Johns is because the anticipation of what will happen next just knowing how Dutch ends would make it useless a fun concept but a useless story we need it as Jack and before you say you can’t make a western game modern I mean 1911 isn’t exactly western either
This seems like a very logical and interesting decision to make another prequel, that's why Rockstar will do something else entirely xD

I love your opinion! 👌
doesnt work has to be someone that dies.
Lumbago
As soon as you mentioned the name Mac Callender, I was like Yes! The protagonist of RDR3 should be someone we don't already know.
Also, I like to think that Colm O'Driscoll was at one point a member of the Van Der Linde gang, but his methods were too aggressive and brought unwanted attention to the gang. He was exiled from the gang, which eventually led to the blood feud.
I like the idea of building up the Van der Linde gang.
Mac last word to Dutch
Mac:There to many of them we can’t outrun them. If they keep chasing us they’ll kill us all.
Dutch:Come on we gotta try look I have a plan…
Mac:No Dutch!
I would play this even if rockstar didn't publish it. It has a lot of potential and would definitely be a major hit
@Confessions Of A Movie Freak no shit Sherlock that’s the point
I still wanna see what happened to Jack Marston after Red Dead Redemption 1 since he is only surviving member of the gang.
technically a few others like Sadie and Charles are still around
There would obviously be tons of new characters and probably a new protagonist, since half the characters in rdr2 weren’t even mentioned in rdr1
@@beccazach Oh no, thank you so much for your comment and sharing your thoughts and opinions! I’m sure that was a lot to write! Lmao
@@beccazach I think if they did something like in the 20s with Jack, that would be nice. However, they'd have to title it something else.
I'll buy it in a heart beat if Rockstar releases Red Dead Redemption 3
Red Dead Series can really drag itself out with spin offs and of course a rdr3 , I would love to see Javier Escuelas story in Mexico
18:05 hit me hard because of the music in the background R.I.P Arthur Morgan
That's exactly what I think too, it makes more sense, but at the same time it's hard to know if they'll choose to go back further, because there are several arcs to be explored. With the dialogues throughout the game, I noticed that there is something "ready" to be explored in the next game. Even little is said about Davey Callander and Jenny, what if we controlled Davey? I don't know, but that's what I'm talking about, there's a lot of things that can be explored back there, especially the gang formation, and the old guard. By the way, looking at Rockstar today, it is difficult to know if we will have a next RDR and if we do, it will take a long time.
And the story could be told in eyes of Landon Ricketts (since he is the old Legendary gun-slinger character from RDR-1 teaching John how to shoot in Chuparosa)
because Ricketts was in Blackwater when Dutch & gang did the bank-job robbery & ship massacre..
Landon Ricketts and even Nigel West-Dickens & Seth Briars needs to be in here somewhere with a backstory.
Well Supposably London Ricketts was there during the BlackWater Masacre
Dude that would be so amazing. What a great idea for the next game
The fact that there is actually a Red Dead Redemption 3 coming out 2025 is crazy
How would they have free roam for the epilogue?
@@icommitarson personally i think a sequel to RDR1 would be the best, maybe set in 1917 (the epilogue being in 1919)
The feds come for Jack as well and after he is finally caught (in the late game) he is drafted into ww1 (like alot of gunlsingers were) and lives on after the war. It could also transfer the Franchise into the mafia genre with the introduction of portable fully automatic weapons and propper cars.
@@tugalord RDR is more western though so it wouldn't make sense to add in modern weapons.
Damn this is awesome dude!
Rockstar needs fire some people and hire new one's like you. I wish they would add more to RDR2's storyline, it's such a masterpiece of a game. I'm not a fan of the online version, the world feels empty and it's boring.
Thanks that means a lot to me! 💯🙏
I really like this! I've always seen this series in five parts, and to me, this feels like a final game. Here's what I would do:
Part 3: Play as Either Mac or Davie.
Maybe explore a different reigion during this time period (for example, would love to see some more nothern settings, Jerimiah Johnson style)
Part 5: Your video.
I really like this! 👍
Honestly, expanding on the map would be the best. If this game were to be made, it would be possible to just expand on the map to the north. If possible make an entire US to explore, or at least giant part of it, like to the western coast like California and Oregon something.
Love the Sadie and the Charles one but if you could have jack reunite with them would sound amazing, but I think again the outlaw age is gone
bro I love this! so much room to run with this angle!
The story is over! Why can't anyone accept it?
I would love a prequel. Everything’s there. Who doesn’t love an origin story?
The redemption games arnt about the Marston family, it’s about the gang
Be cool to add in bootlegging and custom model ts also-machine gun
A game that takes place in Mexico centered around Javier and how he met with the gang and what happened after Arthur’s death
I think the end of red dead redemption 3 is the black water mission which id like to see
I love this idea I would also love to see the fishing trip that they took together the first one that would be so funny
