It's funny how in this game you can take down 100's of NPCs with guns, but 1 lone wolf is what always takes me down in the end
Those things are so annoying. A few days ago my brother went into Ambirino to get the Legendary White Bison. He killed the thing easy, got the pelt and we started heading to the trapper southwest of big valley. But right before we got out of the Grizzlies a pack of like 15+ wolves came out of nowhere. My brother started to run, he shot at them, but his White Arabian proceeded to buck him off from fright like any horse would do with max level bond. And the dumb wolves killed him. He lost the pelt and we never got it back. He was annoyed but I was fuming. Next day I killed the Legendary White Bison as well, and on my way out the SAME THING happened to me at the SAME EXACT SPOT. Instead of stopping and shooting the 15+ wolves I proceeded to run past them while using my semi-auto shotgun. I shot a few while I ran, but after I lost the wolves, my guy John kept looking at where the wolves are and wouldn't turn around, so for about a minute I had to rely on the mini-map not to run into anything. What's weird is I predicted those wolves were gonna come at me and they did. I made it to the trapper and sold the pelt for a pitiful $38.20. And I payed like 3 times that amount for the outfit. I'm pretty sure that part with the wolves is scripted.
Needless to say I haven't let wolves kill me anymore as I always keep my Pump-Action Shotgun on me at all times. Since it has the highest damage of any shotgun its the best to use. I even one-shot a Grizzly Bear to head with a Slug from like 100 feet with this gun.
@@evergreengaming2.053 ahhh that's a classic. For what it's worth that pack of wolves will always be there in that exact same location. I think it's like their home or something and can even be ilustrated on the map. They have killed me many times even with me knowing about them since they are at a choke point when trying to access the North.
Also the trapper will still have the pelt that your brother lost, so he can atlesat still buy the outfit even if he doesn't get paid for the pelt itself. But yeah that sounds really annoying lol
@@evergreengaming2.053 You don't lose the legendary pelt if you die. Once you have it, you have it. The items you can get from the trapper will be available.
how the hell does a wolf kill you? I could see a cougar, because sometimes they attack and you cant even see them. But a wolf? many they announce themselves from a hundred yards away. I can kill a pack of them with throwing knives, while on foot.

The funny part is that this guy was actually pretty chill compared to what other people would do in this situation, I have a friend who slowly and painfully slaughtered a guy from valentine because he didn’t like the clothes he was wearing. Low honour red dead players are scary, man.

I thought I was the only person who shot a suspiciously lucky npc over a better poker hand.
I do it all the time because poker is bullshit sometimes. I lose all the time to npcs with the same hand as me or their card is one better than mine. I had full house and lost a huge pot to a guy with the exact same cards as me.
I shot a Poker Player cuz his top hat was too posh
IF I lose and dont' want to play anymore, it's a death sentence for those at the table and in the saloon.
This is just how I play RDR2 on a regular day, I didn't know I was doing a challenge run!
Also, annesburg massacre tip: The big red coal company building is the best place to go, it'll funnel everyone into a tight compact space for you to pick off and the entire space itself is just one massive high ground. There's even an office to hide in if you're so inclined

Tip for van horn: if you rent a room and start shouting from the room npcs will none stop come and try to kill you

Cool video! I too had a break of sorts and sent Marston around on a killing spree, and yes, Annesburg was impossible! Glad it wasn't just me. I thought I was a pretty good shot. I had trouble in Valentine too, but eventually it was only posses coming from outside in an endless stream that drove me out. :)
So what happens to the towns? Do they become ghost towns or do NPCs get replaced?
@@silkscreendesigner Oh yeah, you leave for a while, and come back after the town is released from the lockdown, and it's business as usual. Some of the NPCs will address you with things like: "You'd better not pull that same shenanigans like last time!" :D

@@silkscreendesigner Yeah. I accidentally shot one of those horse wrangler brothers over by Rhodes. I hit the R2 quick draw by mistake, BAM right in the chest. Dead as a doornail. His brother ran off. The place was closed but sever game days later, they were back. ;)

I love being a serial killer in this game. I go into a town, I rent a room (if possible), I wait till night-time and I go out for a hunt. I choose my victim, I murder them discreetly, mutilate the body with a hatchet and take a picture as a souvenir. Then I move to a new location for another murder. Once in a while I come back home, I sit on my bed, next to my sleeping wife, and I watch the photos...

I think it takes like a week for an NPC to spawn via train so when you kill an entire town it'll be empty till the next game week when the train arrives but they will not be the same NPC's as before so yeah
I swear i once saw a lawman pick up a man i killed and stow him on his horse before riding away
@@Nabd916Yup, it does happen. If you kill some people and get away (but noot too far away) until you're no longer wanted, you can come back and the lawmen will be there surveying the terrain and picking up the corpses
