What cracked me up was how I spend the entire game terrified of them only to discover they're not even that bad. Mainly just an inconvenience.
I kill catchers every chance I get. It makes traveling through an area so much easier. Every reviewer I've seen play this game makes it seem like you have to sneak around on foot all the time. I've been able to play pretty aggressively. I drive everywhere and only travel on foot when it's totally necessary. I take out camps of Mules and steal their materials to build roads. So far, the game has been really fun.

I love the BTs and how scary they are but tbh when you've killed like 4 catchers just in Episode 2 and the BTs reappear just 10 minutes later it kind of breaks the immersion for me. Like there should be an hour timer for each area at least so that I don't have kill a catcher every damn time I want to move my bike through an area without being spotted and dragged away.
Hunt them all down. They won't respawn, at least in my experience.

Yeah, I’m an OG gamer at 50 years old….this game has a mood to it that reminds of Heavy Rain (DUH…..I know lol) but beyond that, it’s got some serious immersion that would have had me at Timmy’s house for days about 38 years ago 😂😂😂….back when we could order pizzas and stay up all weekend on the Nintendo….

When I was heading to the wind farm I got caught and captured by bts for the first time and used all my ex 0,1, and 2 grenades trying to ward off the catcher and had to check the map quickly to see what path I have to take and for a guy who got captured for the first time I handled it well escaping the area and somehow didn’t get injured

There is another way to avoid the BTs. By going to their hideout during a Sunny day/when u see no black strands + upside down rainbow at the infested area.
Apparently there will be a rare small resting interval where the BTs will not appear when u enter their territory.
If u are attempting to grab a cargo in their area, u can plan yr route, empty yr cargo, take a days rest. And right off the moment u exit the base, run straight to their territory grab the cargo and go.

I ran into the catcher way before learning anything about them. I had no idea the online players were providing ammo and I definitely didn’t know defeating or escaping from one would clear the area... so while it might teach you some of this, I’m sure there are other folks like me who will still find this useful.

Picked it up today and I hate that I like it. Game is not something you’ve ever played but something you should try. Very interactive EXPERIENCE
I normally just go straight to the mini boss fight kill the whale thing and traverse the area as much as I want. Just don’t walk out of it by accident because then the BT’s spawn again and you have to do the same boss fight again.
Also if you’re on your bike you can just out run the BT’s but DO NOT under any circumstances crash into a BT because then you’ll get dragged under the tar pit for a boss fight and damage your cargo.

How many BT's are there when you enter a BT area? I snuck around one killing about ten during one mission and their still seemed to be dozens more.
