Hey, I don't want to get ANYTHING spoiled in this game. Can you maybe give a rough estimation when this video can be watched without getting even the smallest game mechanic spoiled?
I constructed 2 roads all by myself then the likes came pouring in, theb people started to help with the other roads until it looked like a real highway, this game makes me feel like the world still has some good in it left.
It's nice. I started thinking about trying weird paths and stuff just to find out if they are useful or not. If they were somewhat useful I left some gear to help traverse it. I should figure out how to use signs as well to tell people some paths are not recommended etc. It's really fun trying to help others and it's fucking relieving when you are low on stamina and someone just built a random bridge .
I did the first road then got kinda sad when I got hella material and half the roads were done I appreciate it but kinda felt like it was taken from me
My entire game experience is farming BTs to help rebuild everyone’s structures. I carry well over 12,000 chiral on my person just sprinkling that stuff on every bridge, road, charging station I find. Truly feel like I’m making a difference getting structures up to level 3 or getting a seamless road trip to make a delivery Edit: the real heroes farm metals Edit2: wow look at all those likes!! Feels like I’m playing the game!

The people I'm Bridged with are really good about completing structures and keeping things in good condition. So much in fact that I felt pretty bad about not helping so I spent all my playtime yesterday collecting materials for roads and I built a zip line system so we can get around the mountain areas quickly. Feels good!
When you get the ability to fabricate your truck. There’s a row of lights at the back that shows the amount of cargo your truck can carry, once it turns red and all lights are filled. You’re full.
be sure to level up your connection with "the collector" as quickly as possible. He's near the distribution center south of lake knot city. He can be difficult to find and level up but he gives you a backpack cover that you can use to protect items that are on your backpack from timefall and weather. This is EXTREMELY useful later in the game when the weather is constantly rough. It was definitely one of the most useful items I had.
I just finished the game a couple of days ago and kept thinking how stupid it is you have clothes that are fine in timefall, but can't just throw that fabric over your pack to protect everything. I wish I knew this was a thing early on!

I think I spent half my time in this game just building or repairing structures. It's amazing how you can become addicted to the feeling that spending time helping with these is going to make someone else's game a bit easier. I LOVE this mechanic in the game. Even though it is single player it constantly reminds you that we're all in it together!
@@EhCloserLook Can't say in OP's behalf, but I also spent like half of my time repairing, upgrading, building structures and roads. By the time I reached the end and did the last few post-credits missions and redid some deliveries in very hard difficulty, I've spent a total of about 300 hours with the game. But now I'm pretty much done.
@@E5rael It ended up taking me 86h 18m to finish the DC version of the game. I started out on the regular version _thinking_ that I had bought the DC and then upgraded probably about 29 hours in? Anyways, the game was great. That said, F*** Gamerant because their website claimed that it took 30-35 hours to beat DS. For this reason I decided to start the game while I was preparing for a cross-country move IRL. But at about 65 hours in I realized that I was not even halfway through the game! This resulted in my basically pulling an all-nighter before my flight. It was really stressful, but I digress.
When BTs are trying to drag you down, when you escape them actually pulling on you you can actually turn around and pee on the "oil" to make them retreat.
One thing I never used was the timfall shelters because I thought they were kind of pointless unless you had to repair your cargo but you can actually pass time while standing under them. If you hold square under them 10 minutes will pass and you can keep going until the rain dissapears.
@@SuperMurray2009 I literally cant stop playing. Its addictive as fuck. So yes! Its weird. The moment to moment game play is actually very involved because youre contsantly factoring in various things. Your balance, the condition of the cargo, and obviously the threats. But also the time..the other players leaving trails..the working together to build things. Its great.
If you headshot Mules with the Bola gun, you will instantly knock them out instead of just restraining them. It can be tricky to hit the headshot, but it is very helpful.
Honestly not that tricky for anyone who played Dead Space. I’d honestly say anyone who has experienced this series might almost have an advantage when it comes to performing efficiently in combat.

One of the most satisfying things is when you've finally gathered enough materials to build the road and see 900+likes from people who've used your road it's like you've made a difference in life xD
I saw them right away in Capital Knot and had no idea what they were for. Once I got to the central region, I quickly stumbled across a mule truck during an order to get cargo back from them, desperately drove out to Lake Knot to recharge it, only to find out you can't use it with the garage. I decided to park it in a spot like the Bridges trucks outside and that's how I accidentally found out they recharge. It's definitly not an obvious feature but I like that it's there.
@@samalizadev To be fair, I just left Port Knot City and until now I have always seen black lines in the sky where a upside down rainbow was. They have always come together for me at this point.

I road'killed' everybody with a lvl3 truck i got from someone. And most of the time i could even escape this bt "tar" by just holding r2 pressed. This game was a driving simulator for me.
Death stranding seems like Hideo Kojima warning us of 5G. From the talking about expanding the network will cause more chiral storms and death(like more wireless radiation and its health effects). To the symbols used in game like the UCA logo being similar to the United Nations, the symbol when interacting with things or hacking(similar to zionism and the devils symbol). To the emails that that highlight the pros n cons of reconnecting. To the symbolism of the cufflinks themselves(our phones). Kojima leaves nothing to coincidence, his games always follow of trend, a theme, a meaning. Tell me he isn't warning of the global elite and 5G

If only it wasn't holding a tiny button on the controller, stick motion then button to complete it... This is my #1 gripe with the game. I'm hoping they add a way to skip by holding/double tapping a button in a future patch. Hey I'd even settle for a hadokuen move or something that doesn't make me use that stupid tiny button.
Might already be mentioned by one of the tips in game, but if you throw down a hematic grenade, bullets that are shot through the blood cloud are able to deal damage to BTs. Same goes for throwing a grenade near a crowd of BTs and letting your blood cover them, shooting at the bloodstained parts of the BT also does damage to them. Also, there is a memory chip in one of the small caves at the side of the mountain a little to the south east of where you can find 'Elder', that memory chip contains blueprints that would let you build a new bike, which has increased battery life and also has shields.
When you throw a blood grenade at a BT boss, equip your normal rifle and shoot through the blood fog the bullets get instantly coated with blood and deal significant damage to the BT boss.
Here's some more tips (with game mechanics spoilers, so spoiler alert) -Bola shots to the head instantly knocks the target out, shots to the body only temporarily disables them -Want to get rid of the rain? put your stuff somewhere safe nearby and let the BTs drag you to the boss for that area, either escape the boss or kill it. Killing it will net you a whole lot of chiral crystal dust thing if you are in need of some -See MULEs chasing after you? just run them over with your bike or truck. Do note that this will damage anything that the MULEs are carrying -There's an optional upgrade for your backpack, a backpack cover. There's already a few guides around showing how you can get it -Hate going up to the elder on the mountain? Instead of going up from the MULE camp side of the mountain try going up on the exact opposite. Just go south from the Engineer's place and there's a pretty easy path for vehicles to reach up there. There's also something cool to see here. -You can sleep from the sitting position, in case you need to take a 10-20 minute rest yourself -There's a center of gravity indicator when you load up Sam, the white circle on the floor is the indicator -You can ride bikes up ladders -The power frames are worth using imho, especially when you encounter terrain that's hard for vehicles to pass through the first time around -You can get frostbite on your fingers and toes if you climb around in the snow for too long, it'll last a few sleep cycles and doesn't have negative effects as far as I can tell -When a spot gets a lot of pee, it'll attract the floating worms for you to harvest
Just started playing last weekend, so haven’t reached any snowy areas yet. That frostbite tip is an interesting immersion touch. I wonder if they did consider adding a negative affect with it?
The first person view is also really useful for lining up to walk over a tricky ladder, or just repositioning your view when you're on a ledge or next to a river, or somewhere else where there's a risk of falling if you stumble on the terrain.
While I can understand maybe this game isn't for everyone I'm really enjoying it . Its beautiful, atmospheric and strange . I'm hooked . Thanks for the tips !!!
I love how people can troll too. I had a fragile item that shouldn’t be vibrated much, I was in my truck charging at a generator and they hid a speed boost in the line of sight of the generator, I go to leave and go flying into a rock, breaking my package and forcing a restart, I never laughed so hard
Similar experience: players placing speed boosts on the highway. Some are super helpful.... others are placed on the dangerous curvy parts near mountain knot for you to hit and get launched off the road.
Somebody might've mentioned already, but; Headshots with the Bola gun vs MULEs is better than bodyshots because it knocks them out automatically, saves you having to run up and kick them unconscious
When you come across a mule camp and they scan you right away activate your scanner and you'll negate them locating you and you can continue on sneaking into their camp.
@@jmcg85 All those 0s and 1s on metacritic are just pathetic. People are insane for giving such a polished - at least you could give Kojima credit for that - game these low scores. I love the gameplay and complexity, logistical challenges are much more engaging than shooting enldess waves of enemies in COD or other run of the mill shooters.
This game sure gives you a new perspective on life. Times are much harder without roads, vehicles and such. We take such things for granted in our everyday lives, but Death Stranding really shows us what it would be like without them. Oh, and I’m addicted to Monster now. Thanks, Kojima! 👍
Tip that made combat ALOT easier for me. If you equip your weapon to the weapon rack you can easily access it when needed by tapping the right d pad without having to go into the weapon/tools wheel. This also allows you to easily put it away when you want your hands free. This works with anything that you attach to your weapon rack (ladders, grenades, bola gun, etc.) Can put the item/weapon away by tapping it a second time. Quick weapon/tool access using the right D-Pad
I mean... they can send power through the Beach, why does my tricycle have to run on batteries? Where are the chiralium power cords? Ahem, I mean... power-strands?

@@jamessummers5936 yeah you start to see these things in chapter 3 on the side of an old road. It takes a lot of materials but if everyone chips in some it makes a section of a road. And charges any battery if you walk or drive in the middle of the road
To each their own. Some people are saying it's boring, I guess I'm more patient than they are. The first few hours were interesting as long as you know it's cutscene heavy. The next few hours were frustrating to me and had some slow moments but it was mostly me being stubborn and not wanting to learn the mechanics. I got back on the next day and figured everything out that I was frustrated with and have been loving it ever since. Just stick with it, it gets better and better as it goes. Don't be impatient or lazy about it like these other guys.
Did you know you can shoot remote detonation grenades onto small cargo then throw them onto you back to carry around instant Thematic grenade B.T. replant? It damages cargo slightly but you can shoot a whole bunch on and just sprint through the B.T. zones using them like proximity mines. And it doesn't damage anything on a cargo carrier
I connected Mountain Knot City and the Weather station using Ziplines. Mapping out the Zipline network on those snowcapped peaks feels like setting up the warning pyres when Gondor called for Rohan's aid.

I really hope you can help me with something actually. I keep doing errands for him and i get likes from his deliveries but the likes aren't increasing the stars? Is this a glitch you've encountered or does his errands just give so few likes that i can't see the stars filling up? I need that backpack cover man
@@TheGozeraye It's a deliberate and dumb design choice. You'll have the same problem with all the 'Preppers', such as Cosplayer, Veteran Porter, Film Director, Novelist's Son, Collector, and The First Prepper. You have to earn likes until the current star won't fill anymore, then go to a private room, enter it, receive a message from the person you did the delivery for, read it, then leave the Private Room, then enter the Private Room again, receive a second message from them, read it, then leave again, and you can do more deliveries until the second star won't fill, then repeat.
Albert Carver Thank you man. Every other facility went up so quick and I just wasted about 10 minutes doing two orders for the Collector to get no connection. He’s already a pain in the ass to reach as is haha but thanks it makes sense now.
PROTIP: delivering other people’s cargo which you can grab en mass from shared lockers at distro centers or knot cities will get you a ton of Bridge Link points, both increasing your overall level and also increasing “sync level” every tenth level. Its not exactly clear what it is but it seems to increase the chance of other players stuff being in your world and vice versa, which is extremely helpful as you can imagine!
Tip 1: If you time it right you can jump over the mule scan wave to avoid being scanned. Tip 2: You can put cargo that you are holding in your right or left hand straight into a truck or onto trike without opening cargo menu. Tip 3: Any mail that mentions seeing a "shiny object" is a hint on where to find a memory chip. Tip 4: Struggling to get ziplines to link up? Upgrading a zipline to rank 2 will increase its distance from 300 to 350. Rank 3 will however not increase any further. Connected ziplines a Rank 2 is reaching do not need to be upgraded to reach back.
Big Boy I tried it several times. After escaping the puddle anyway they seemed to disappear. Maybe it was due to timeout but the game doesn’t say later on that your urine repels them (to the point it making urine grenades.) I figured if there’s a pee mechanic in game it must have a use or achievement at least
Im only 18 but I played alot of games and I cant remember the last time since I was hooked so much too a Game. It surely isnt for everyone. But Jesus it is a piece of Art for me. Finally a dev who tries something completely new and shows a great success of a New "Genre". Im pretty sure we need games like this to improve the modern gaming Market. This Game is truly one of a Kind!
Traveling in games has been made somewhat obsolete, fast travel and such. Most games are fun when you get there. I like the subversion of Kojima making a game that is all about how you are getting there.
@@11deanski33 I love how you see a mountain, you climb the mountain in real time, it's actually difficult and you need items to help you, you descend as a song herald's your achievement, really unique in games for some reason.
Make sure you don't leave stuff in the open world and then go far away from it. It'll disappear. If you have to leave stuff behind, build a post box and dump your stuff in there. I learned the fuckin hard way.
As I was close to ending a mission I decided to take a leak at the top of a river bridge. After zipping up I lost control of Sam and of course he fell in the water. Paddling left and right, baby screaming and all my precious cargo floating down the river. Some of it I got hold of pretty quickly. Rushed to shore, soothing BB before offloading everything to run for the rest. Unfortunately I also offloaded my shoes in the process. As I managed to get all my gear back down the river, Sam had a very odd walk back in his bare feet. I could have just reloaded the last save but heck..
Dippins Sticks hey dude, in the opening they point out a rainbow and then it gets crazy. I notice if I go directly into the middle of a rainbow, it rains, BT area rains, and then BTs are all over.
Rainbows only tell you that timefall is on its way, plus timefall doesn’t always mean there are BTs. An easier way to tell if there are BTs in an area is to look for black strands that extend into the sky.
When losing stability crouch and stand up fast and you won't need to hold the triggers to recover your stability. It helped me a lot when I just wanted to run with heavy gear. This helps a lot when making turns.
Every single recipient of pristine cargo : “Wow, this is in perfect condition! I can’t believe you carried all this by yourself! Your shoulders must really be taking a beating!” Me with my smoking, fizzling, rust-bucket stolen MULE truck : “Yeah, I just stole a MULE truck right after I got here ... it’s literally parked right behind me ... looking like it’s about to burst into flames any second now ... anyhoo, love to stay and chat, buuuuuut ... Got any orders for me??!!”
There is a breif period after liking something for the first time where you can spam like it, so do that for anything you find useful or anytime you wanna help. *Today's a good day*
As I waited for the PC release, watching people on the internet complain about it is what made me want to play it more. I knew Kojima had made something to complex for the average gamer yet again
May have been mentioned already but a useful tip for anyone using the MULE trucks in chapter 3, (I was previously told you cannot repair them) I just figured out that if you leave the truck inside one of the MULE bases, they will fix it up once they're not unconcious, obviously you'll have to steal it back from them but it seems a small price to pay to have them fix the ride
A few stuff i found out. 1. Dont sleep in snowy areas, you will freeze to death. 2. When resting/sitting down, you can press L1 + down button to play with BB. You can press and hold R3 to focus camera on BB. 3. Hotsprings have different effects. The blue ones restore your stamina up to an additional 25%. Theres white,green,brown and blue i have found so far. 4. You can spam the like button to give multiple likes in one go. 5.Check post boxes for materials you can claim that are donated or lost by other players in the area. Then use it to build roads. 6. if you walked the same path a couple of times it creates a footpath for easy travel, this works really good especially in snowy areas as this will make walking faster by not having your feet deep in snow. 7. If you are brave enough and have a lot of hematic grenades, just let yourself get drag away by BTs and kill the boss. The area will be cleared away for a few delivery runs.
Same. I love arcadey but games like this are amazing as well. Thats one reason i like The Long Dark. It is deep and isnt a shooter just a every day survival game
Kojima made videogames where you throw a grenade into a crocodile's mouth to turn it into cans of food, or pee to make a mushroom appear. They're more arcadey than we give them credit for
When sneaking around BTs make sure to change the camera angle so it's over your shoulder that has the Adirondack scanner thing lol. Then u always know which direction not to go.
And also all the ppl who said the gameplay sucks, not every game have to be COD or Ass Creed, a game can be it's own thing and be beautiful, like this game which I am hooked on.....got a late start on it but I am so loving everything about this game!!!
CaptGeech I definitely think the best way is to go into the cargo menu and put EVERYTHING you can possibly carry on your back and then turn the canister around and spray it at yourself. It fixes everything at once and is a better use of it than individually hitting crates and boxes on your bike or the ground or whatever. Or hold triangle and dump everything on the ground and only pick up the deliveries you’re gonna make and just repair those. Your grenades and ladders and stuff generally get destroyed over the time fall anyhow, so don’t waste repair spray on them.
Also BIG tip here, if you donate ANY amount of a material to a auto-paver you will be linked online to a number of other players who are working on that instance, and the paver will often complete by the time you come back, you will also recieve notifications on when a player contribues.
If you’re going back to a place you’ve already been to, use your scanner to see your old foot prints and follow them so you don’t have to set markers again
I'm very much addicted. Watched this video on my lunch break. My current tip would be careful of building too much. I think most worlds could use a few less postboxes near prepper camps or cities. Save them for near mule camps, or BT areas. I've hit a point where I'm having to search for every last structure I built to dismantle it so I can build a zip line network and frustrated at all the badly placed items in my world that are taking up precious bandwidth.
Jon Benson I wish you could pull up a menu of all the things that YOU build that take up bandwidth. So you could easily look through the list and see them pop up on the map and delete them from the menu.
The canteen can be refilled when your are walking through rivers or when it is raining. Recycle used/destroyed items for building materials. Chiral crystal appear more and in larger quantities during timefall storms. There is a clip on the left side of the back pack to carry two extra pairs of boots. The Odradek will point at the direction BT is going.
You can conserve space by recycling materials then pulling them out again. Like the biggest metal you can find is 400 but if you recycle a bunch into a post then you can pull out 1000 metal and it will be the same size
If you're having trouble with getting the rope counter timing, you can shoulder check the MULEs by holding both shoulder triggers to grip your pack and pressing attack. Then while they're stunned, you can quickly incapacitate them with the rope from behind. Keeps container damage to a minimum and is useful if there's nothing you can find to break.
One issue I had was when you get dragged off to a mini boss fight in the middle of a timefall and your cargo gets scattered. Stuff fixed to your suit doesnt appear to fall off so I suggest stacking the grenades to your arms and/or thighs to avoid losing them all and having to run through the tar to try and pick them up again before attacking.
I realized that you’ll see other people’s avatars (they’re completely white) when you fight the catcher. They throw hematic grenades and blood pouches to you, so you can just pick up what they throw to defeat it instead of always carrying so many.
You can like someone’s stuff multiple amounts of time so it’s weird seeing people only doing it once. I can give people’s hundreds of likes in one go yet people usually just give one when they interact with my stuff.
Same, I typically stop and max out liking other people stuff, it'll usually be 100-150 likes or I'll run through and tap like which will maybe be a dozen or so likes, but there's a few times where ladders or ropes or whatever that I've placed out will have 1 like lol, like wtf?
Sometimes the camera fucks me so when I think I'm doing 50+ likes I turn around and notice only 1 went through. You hate to see it, but sometimes it happens
Cyrus Wu Any idea how it determines who gets credit for building a road? The person that starts/finishes it? Puts the most materials into it? I’ve tried everything but it always has someone else’s name on it, even if I contribute 100%.

I found that if my bike depleted it's energy, i could turn the handle left & right, which would gesture Sam's feet to push forward against the ground, consequently moving the bike forward a bit. It's a great way to keep your bike and your cargo that's in it, and traverse a short distance towards a charging station or end-point or something. Now, imagine doing that on a downward slope.....
THIS!!!!!! I figured this out somewhat soon after I got the bike it ran out of energy close to two bridges I built to a generator and I tried doing that and I said to myself I'll be damned!!!! hell of a tip right there!!!!
One thing I didn't notice for a little while is that you can press triangle in the cargo menu to optimize your load. Also, ranking up at each delivery point is the best thing you can do. This is how you unlock a lot of upgrades to your equipment and items, as well as some customization.
You know what I want after all those tips and tricks, a nice Monster Energy Drink to refuel myself from pressing buttons on a controller with lots of sugar. (Seriously I laughed so hard when the product placement was shown in Critakal's Stream. Guess thats how they were able to get the money for this game to be made. And if the apocalypse happens, there will always be Monster Energy, no more Coke or Pepsi.
Something i noticed when resting in the private room is that when BB is making sounds, go check on him and “smooth” him. Most of the time i did that i got an unusual cutscene that is different from the normal scene you get. Just something fun I noticed.
the grenade pouches you can craft during episode 3 are a game changer. same deal as the utility pouch for blood packs, but let you carry as many grenades as you have pouches installed on your pack.
Cult Mechanicus I think around Chapter 3 it starts. If the people on your server have already made the majority of them it’ll make your experience a whole lot easier trust me
A good tip is when you can craft the time fall shelters they come with a nice free repair spray as they activate. If it doesn't repair everything in one pass, walk out of the circle and get another free spray down! Also the tiny cargo carriers are floating sleds... They have to be attached to you but you can basically shield slide on them... Press square to kick/push
Yeah they're nice when they're fresh. Give it a few days and every one of theirs and yours will be destroyed and need repairs, and no one else will do it, so you'll have to.
@@shadowgaze At the Timefall Farm, there's a timed delivery bound for Lake Knot City that'll give you around 3000 likes. It requires a truck though as there's a lot of cargo. There should be another from South Knot to Lake Knot that awards a couple thousand likes too. It'll take several hours before you can replay them but they're brilliant, especially if you have the roads all built up.

My tips: Do not attempt to walk adjacent to any vehicles while carrying a lot of cargo. Sam may inexplicably lose balance and start moonwalking, only to collide with an invisible wall, which deals damage to your cargo. Transfer cargo directly from the ground to your vehicle by pressing start and going to the cargo menu right after you exit the vehicle. This will save time and also give Sam fewer opportunities to flop over or moonwalk. Do not attempt to hide from BTs or even hunt them one by one with grenades. This is a waste of time. Instead, get yourself caught by them so that you can take on the easy boss, which only requires 10 or so hematic grenades, and can stop the rain for 5 seconds, and rewards you with tons of hematic crystals. Just be sure to leave your cargo a safe distance away before you run in for battle like a brave porter. Remember to do wheelies with your reverse trike to get over rocky terrain. You'll have pretty much no excuse to leave your bike behind as it can make it through some inedible obstacles, while having a lower probability of damaging your cargo than carefully traversing that terrain on foot, somehow. Even if Sam is over encumbered, he can still jump into his reverse trike and rocket off like a jacked up jackrabbit. It's like the trike has magic anti gravity powers. Don't expect to get any likes on your bridges or structures, no matter how perfectly placed they are. Perhaps someone else in another online dimension already put a structure there, so they don't see yours.. Or nobody likes you. But never fear, because you can still get lots of likes. All you have to do is drop some resources on the road building structures, and boom! You'll have tons of messages letting you know that people are using your road. And you didn't even have to finish it! Try to add resources to as many of these road building structures as you can without actually finishing them. You'll get so many likes to compensate for the likes that you didn't get by actually completing things. Keep on moonwalking on. Remember to hold L2 and R2 right before you hit the invisible wall.
I peed on the wale BT and it ran away. I was trying to climb up the cliff to get out of the tar but I wasn't going to make it so I found a small piece of land, pulled my willidong out and aimed for it.
Quick Tip - For those struggling to get around the Wind Farm BT’s, you can simply go onto the cliff side to the right. But be very careful as it might be tricky. If it’s already in the chiral network then someone most likely will have placed a climbing anchor to get to it.

I constructed 2 roads all by myself then the likes came pouring in, theb people started to help with the other roads until it looked like a real highway, this game makes me feel like the world still has some good in it left.
Mac Kind i will definitely save money and buy a ps4 and start playing this game, the connection is real.
It's nice. I started thinking about trying weird paths and stuff just to find out if they are useful or not. If they were somewhat useful I left some gear to help traverse it. I should figure out how to use signs as well to tell people some paths are not recommended etc. It's really fun trying to help others and it's fucking relieving when you are low on stamina and someone just built a random bridge .
I finished the last 3 sections of the road in the 2nd region last night. Its so helpful to be able to use a truck for such a long distance.

My entire game experience is farming BTs to help rebuild everyone’s structures. I carry well over 12,000 chiral on my person just sprinkling that stuff on every bridge, road, charging station I find. Truly feel like I’m making a difference getting structures up to level 3 or getting a seamless road trip to make a delivery

The people I'm Bridged with are really good about completing structures and keeping things in good condition. So much in fact that I felt pretty bad about not helping so I spent all my playtime yesterday collecting materials for roads and I built a zip line system so we can get around the mountain areas quickly. When you get the ability to fabricate your truck. There’s a row of lights at the back that shows the amount of cargo your truck can carry, once it turns red and all lights are filled. You’re full.

This, I was losing my mind trying to figure out the sweet spot and its on the trucks ass the hole time! This dude wins the internet.

be sure to level up your connection with "the collector" as quickly as possible. He's near the distribution center south of lake knot city. He can be difficult to find and level up but he gives you a backpack cover that you can use to protect items that are on your backpack from timefall and weather. This is EXTREMELY useful later in the game when the weather is constantly rough. It was definitely one of the most useful items I had.
I just finished the game a couple of days ago and kept thinking how stupid it is you have clothes that are fine in timefall, but can't just throw that fabric over your pack to protect everything. I wish I knew this was a thing early on!

I think I spent half my time in this game just building or repairing structures. It's amazing how you can become addicted to the feeling that spending time helping with these is going to make someone else's game a bit easier. I LOVE this mechanic in the game. Even though it is single player it constantly reminds you that we're all in it together!

@@EhCloserLook Can't say in OP's behalf, but I also spent like half of my time repairing, upgrading, building structures and roads. By the time I reached the end and did the last few post-credits missions and redid some deliveries in very hard difficulty, I've spent a total of about 300 hours with the game. But now I'm pretty much done.
@@E5rael It ended up taking me 86h 18m to finish the DC version of the game. I started out on the regular version _thinking_ that I had bought the DC and then upgraded probably about 29 hours in? Anyways, the game was great. That said, F*** Gamerant because their website claimed that it took 30-35 hours to beat DS. For this reason I decided to start the game while I was preparing for a cross-country move IRL. But at about 65 hours in I realized that I was not even halfway through the game! This resulted in my basically pulling an all-nighter before my flight. It was really stressful, but I digress.
When BTs are trying to drag you down, when you escape them actually pulling on you you can actually turn around and pee on the "oil" to make them retreat.

You can take shelter from timefall under any bridge!
One thing I never used was the timfall shelters because I thought they were kind of pointless unless you had to repair your cargo but you can actually pass time while standing under them. If you hold square under them 10 minutes will pass and you can keep going until the rain dissapears.

The moment to moment game play is actually very involved because youre contsantly factoring in various things. Your balance, the condition of the cargo, and obviously the threats. But also the time..the other players leaving trails..the working together to build things. Its great.

If you headshot Mules with the Bola gun, you will instantly knock them out instead of just restraining them. It can be tricky to hit the headshot, but it is very helpful.

You can also knock out restrain Mules by approaching them and pressing square button.
or you can lure them on a river or any body of water, hit them anywhere with the bola gun and instant stun
Honestly not that tricky for anyone who played Dead Space. I’d honestly say anyone who has experienced this series might almost have an advantage when it comes to performing efficiently in combat.

I saw them right away in Capital Knot and had no idea what they were for. Once I got to the central region, I quickly stumbled across a mule truck during an order to get cargo back from them, desperately drove out to Lake Knot to recharge it, only to find out you can't use it with the garage. I decided to park it in a spot like the Bridges trucks outside and that's how I accidentally found out they recharge. It's definitly not an obvious feature but I like that it's there.

To the emails that that highlight the pros n cons of reconnecting. To the symbolism of the cufflinks themselves(our phones). Kojima leaves nothing to coincidence, his games always follow of trend, a theme, a meaning. Tell me he isn't warning of the global elite and 5G

Biggest tip here is that there's a skip for all of the repetitive mini cutscenes.
If only it wasn't holding a tiny button on the controller, stick motion then button to complete it... This is my #1 gripe with the game. I'm hoping they add a way to skip by holding/double tapping a button in a future patch.

Might already be mentioned by one of the tips in game, but if you throw down a hematic grenade, bullets that are shot through the blood cloud are able to deal damage to BTs. Same goes for throwing a grenade near a crowd of BTs and letting your blood cover them, shooting at the bloodstained parts of the BT also does damage to them.
Also, there is a memory chip in one of the small caves at the side of the mountain a little to the south east of where you can find 'Elder', that memory chip contains blueprints that would let you build a new bike, which has increased battery life and also has shields.

When you throw a blood grenade at a BT boss, equip your normal rifle and shoot through the blood fog the bullets get instantly coated with blood and deal significant damage to the BT boss.

Here's some more tips (with game mechanics spoilers, so spoiler alert)
-Bola shots to the head instantly knocks the target out, shots to the body only temporarily disables them
-Want to get rid of the rain? put your stuff somewhere safe nearby and let the BTs drag you to the boss for that area, either escape the boss or kill it. Killing it will net you a whole lot of chiral crystal dust thing if you are in need of some
-See MULEs chasing after you? just run them over with your bike or truck. Do note that this will damage anything that the MULEs are carrying
-There's an optional upgrade for your backpack, a backpack cover. There's already a few guides around showing how you can get it
-Hate going up to the elder on the mountain? Instead of going up from the MULE camp side of the mountain try going up on the exact opposite. Just go south from the Engineer's place and there's a pretty easy path for vehicles to reach up there. There's also something cool to see here.
-You can sleep from the sitting position, in case you need to take a 10-20 minute rest yourself
-There's a center of gravity indicator when you load up Sam, the white circle on the floor is the indicator
-You can ride bikes up ladders
-The power frames are worth using imho, especially when you encounter terrain that's hard for vehicles to pass through the first time around
-You can get frostbite on your fingers and toes if you climb around in the snow for too long, it'll last a few sleep cycles and doesn't have negative effects as far as I can tell
-When a spot gets a lot of pee, it'll attract the floating worms for you to harvest

Another tip: when you are crouching, you can use the first person view to go faster.

For the longest time I’ve done this it’s comforting to have some proof I’m not just crazy and it actually does something!
The first person view is also really useful for lining up to walk over a tricky ladder, or just repositioning your view when you're on a ledge or next to a river, or somewhere else where there's a risk of falling if you stumble on the terrain.
I found this out when I was finding the roboticist. Made my life so much easier

I had a fragile item that shouldn’t be vibrated much, I was in my truck charging at a generator and they hid a speed boost in the line of sight of the generator, I go to leave and go flying into a rock, breaking my package and forcing a restart, I never laughed so hard
Probably there was a road in there, but not in your progress yet, cus I only see speedbooster in roads all the time
Who placed the speed bost may not even see the generator.
Each player has a diferent world
Similar experience: players placing speed boosts on the highway. Some are super helpful.... others are placed on the dangerous curvy parts near mountain knot for you to hit and get launched off the road.
You can always remove dangerous speed boost signs.
Somebody might've mentioned already, but;
Headshots with the Bola gun vs MULEs is better than bodyshots because it knocks them out automatically, saves you having to run up and kick them unconscious

I love the gameplay and complexity, logistical challenges are much more engaging than shooting enldess waves of enemies in COD or other run of the mill shooters.
This game sure gives you a new perspective on life. Times are much harder without roads, vehicles and such. We take such things for granted in our everyday lives, but Death Stranding really shows us what it would be like without them.

Tip that made combat ALOT easier for me. If you equip your weapon to the weapon rack you can easily access it when needed by tapping the right d pad without having to go into the weapon/tools wheel. This also allows you to easily put it away when you want your hands free. This works with anything that you attach to your weapon rack (ladders, grenades, bola gun, etc.) Can put the item/weapon away by tapping it a second time. Quick weapon/tool access using the right D-Pad

I dont need to play it, my friends told me everything about and its mediocre at best, Kojima drone.
To each their own. Some people are saying it's boring, I guess I'm more patient than they are. The first few hours were interesting as long as you know it's cutscene heavy. The next few hours were frustrating to me and had some slow moments but it was mostly me being stubborn and not wanting to learn the mechanics. I got back on the next day and figured everything out that I was frustrated with and have been loving it ever since. Just stick with it, it gets better and better as it goes. Don't be impatient or lazy about it like these other guys.

Did you know you can shoot remote detonation grenades onto small cargo then throw them onto you back to carry around instant Thematic grenade B.T. replant?
It damages cargo slightly but you can shoot a whole bunch on and just sprint through the B.T. zones using them like proximity mines.
And it doesn't damage anything on a cargo carrier
I connected Mountain Knot City and the Weather station using Ziplines. Mapping out the Zipline network on those snowcapped peaks feels like setting up the warning pyres when Gondor called for Rohan's aid.

You can customize your bag to have a cover that protects it's cargo and prevents cargo being knocked off. Need to 2 or 3 star the collector.
I really hope you can help me with something actually. I keep doing errands for him and i get likes from his deliveries but the likes aren't increasing the stars? Is this a glitch you've encountered or does his errands just give so few likes that i can't see the stars filling up? I need that backpack cover man

@@TheGozeraye It's a deliberate and dumb design choice. You'll have the same problem with all the 'Preppers', such as Cosplayer, Veteran Porter, Film Director, Novelist's Son, Collector, and The First Prepper.
You have to earn likes until the current star won't fill anymore, then go to a private room, enter it, receive a message from the person you did the delivery for, read it, then leave the Private Room, then enter the Private Room again, receive a second message from them, read it, then leave again, and you can do more deliveries until the second star won't fill, then repeat.

avoid dropping off from ledges, but if you absolutely must, use L1 to look down and it will tell you how far the drop is.
PROTIP: delivering other people’s cargo which you can grab en mass from shared lockers at distro centers or knot cities will get you a ton of Bridge Link points, both increasing your overall level and also increasing “sync level” every tenth level. Its not exactly clear what it is but it seems to increase the chance of other players stuff being in your world and vice versa, which is extremely helpful as you can imagine!
Tip 1: If you time it right you can jump over the mule scan wave to avoid being scanned.
Tip 2: You can put cargo that you are holding in your right or left hand straight into a truck or onto trike without opening cargo menu.
Tip 3: Any mail that mentions seeing a "shiny object" is a hint on where to find a memory chip.
Tip 4: Struggling to get ziplines to link up? Upgrading a zipline to rank 2 will increase its distance from 300 to 350. Rank 3 will however not increase any further. Connected ziplines a Rank 2 is reaching do not need to be upgraded to reach back.

Big Boy I tried it several times. After escaping the puddle anyway they seemed to disappear. Maybe it was due to timeout but the game doesn’t say later on that your urine repels them (to the point it making urine grenades.) I figured if there’s a pee mechanic in game it must have a use or achievement at least

Im only 18 but I played alot of games and I cant remember the last time since I was hooked so much too a Game. It surely isnt for everyone. But Jesus it is a piece of Art for me. Finally a dev who tries something completely new and shows a great success of a New "Genre". Im pretty sure we need games like this to improve the modern gaming Market. This Game is truly one of a Kind!
Traveling in games has been made somewhat obsolete, fast travel and such. Most games are fun when you get there. I like the subversion of Kojima making a game that is all about how you are getting there.

@@11deanski33 I love how you see a mountain, you climb the mountain in real time, it's actually difficult and you need items to help you, you descend as a song herald's your achievement, really unique in games for some reason.
Make sure you don't leave stuff in the open world and then go far away from it. It'll disappear. If you have to leave stuff behind, build a post box and dump your stuff in there. I learned the fuckin hard way.
As I was close to ending a mission I decided to take a leak at the top of a river bridge. After zipping up I lost control of Sam and of course he fell in the water. Paddling left and right, baby screaming and all my precious cargo floating down the river. Some of it I got hold of pretty quickly. Rushed to shore, soothing BB before offloading everything to run for the rest. Unfortunately I also offloaded my shoes in the process. As I managed to get all my gear back down the river, Sam had a very odd walk back in his bare feet. I could have just reloaded the last save but heck..

It is nearly impossible to tip over while crouched even if you have a huge cargo load.
If you have enough time while escaping from the tar BTs in the ground: having Sam pee on them makes them freak out and dissapate.

I thought that just meant there was rain? I have seen plenty rainbows without seeing a single BT.
Dippins Sticks hey dude, in the opening they point out a rainbow and then it gets crazy. I notice if I go directly into the middle of a rainbow, it rains, BT area rains, and then BTs are all over.
Rainbows only tell you that timefall is on its way, plus timefall doesn’t always mean there are BTs.
An easier way to tell if there are BTs in an area is to look for black strands that extend into the sky.
Let go of the stick and pull both triggers to do a harder stop.
For an instant stop, cue up the "pee" mechanic, and hit L2 then quickly after R2 for a sec. It's a bug so it may not work forever.
When losing stability crouch and stand up fast and you won't need to hold the triggers to recover your stability. It helped me a lot when I just wanted to run with heavy gear. This helps a lot when making turns.

May have been mentioned already but a useful tip for anyone using the MULE trucks in chapter 3, (I was previously told you cannot repair them) I just figured out that if you leave the truck inside one of the MULE bases, they will fix it up once they're not unconcious, obviously you'll have to steal it back from them but it seems a small price to pay to have them fix the ride
A few stuff i found out.
1. Dont sleep in snowy areas, you will freeze to death.
2. When resting/sitting down, you can press L1 + down button to play with BB. You can press and hold R3 to focus camera on BB.
3. Hotsprings have different effects. The blue ones restore your stamina up to an additional 25%. Theres white,green,brown and blue i have found so far.
4. You can spam the like button to give multiple likes in one go.
5.Check post boxes for materials you can claim that are donated or lost by other players in the area. Then use it to build roads.
6. if you walked the same path a couple of times it creates a footpath for easy travel, this works really good especially in snowy areas as this will make walking faster by not having your feet deep in snow.
7. If you are brave enough and have a lot of hematic grenades, just let yourself get drag away by BTs and kill the boss. The area will be cleared away for a few delivery runs.

When sneaking around BTs make sure to change the camera angle so it's over your shoulder that has the Adirondack scanner thing lol. Then u always know which direction not to go.

When using repair spray don't use it out in the rain. Find shelter then use it. Far more effective and the can will last a lot longer.
Or just run to someones timefall shelter and get free unlimited spray...

CaptGeech I definitely think the best way is to go into the cargo menu and put EVERYTHING you can possibly carry on your back and then turn the canister around and spray it at yourself. It fixes everything at once and is a better use of it than individually hitting crates and boxes on your bike or the ground or whatever.
Or hold triangle and dump everything on the ground and only pick up the deliveries you’re gonna make and just repair those. Your grenades and ladders and stuff generally get destroyed over the time fall anyhow, so don’t waste repair spray on them.
when you're bike is broken . You can aim the repair spray at the broken part and it fixes it.
Zip-Lines will be your best friend. Sooo fun too. Making a zip-line trails when you travel further west is ideal 😁
Also BIG tip here, if you donate ANY amount of a material to a auto-paver you will be linked online to a number of other players who are working on that instance, and the paver will often complete by the time you come back, you will also recieve notifications on when a player contribues.
If you’re going back to a place you’ve already been to, use your scanner to see your old foot prints and follow them so you don’t have to set markers again

I think most worlds could use a few less postboxes near prepper camps or cities. Save them for near mule camps, or BT areas.
I've hit a point where I'm having to search for every last structure I built to dismantle it so I can build a zip line network and frustrated at all the badly placed items in my world that are taking up precious bandwidth.
Jon Benson I wish you could pull up a menu of all the things that YOU build that take up bandwidth. So you could easily look through the list and see them pop up on the map and delete them from the menu.

I love building dem roads. Then again, I'm addicted to Euro Truck Simulator as well, so it only makes sense.
The canteen can be refilled when your are walking through rivers or when it is raining. Recycle used/destroyed items for building materials. Chiral crystal appear more and in larger quantities during timefall storms. There is a clip on the left side of the back pack to carry two extra pairs of boots. The Odradek will point at the direction BT is going.

If you want to keep cargo safe when fighting use a pcc and place the private locker
You can conserve space by recycling materials then pulling them out again. Like the biggest metal you can find is 400 but if you recycle a bunch into a post then you can pull out 1000 metal and it will be the same size

If you're having trouble with getting the rope counter timing, you can shoulder check the MULEs by holding both shoulder triggers to grip your pack and pressing attack. Then while they're stunned, you can quickly incapacitate them with the rope from behind. Keeps container damage to a minimum and is useful if there's nothing you can find to break.
These are actually good tips, unlike other channels and articles that seem to have pretty useless advice. Great Video!
One issue I had was when you get dragged off to a mini boss fight in the middle of a timefall and your cargo gets scattered. Stuff fixed to your suit doesnt appear to fall off so I suggest stacking the grenades to your arms and/or thighs to avoid losing them all and having to run through the tar to try and pick them up again before attacking.
Put them in grenade pouches you can craft for your backpack.
I realized that you’ll see other people’s avatars (they’re completely white) when you fight the catcher. They throw hematic grenades and blood pouches to you, so you can just pick up what they throw to defeat it instead of always carrying so many.
You can like someone’s stuff multiple amounts of time so it’s weird seeing people only doing it once. I can give people’s hundreds of likes in one go yet people usually just give one when they interact with my stuff.
Same, I typically stop and max out liking other people stuff, it'll usually be 100-150 likes or I'll run through and tap like which will maybe be a dozen or so likes, but there's a few times where ladders or ropes or whatever that I've placed out will have 1 like lol, like wtf?
And I swear a player dismantled one of my ladders, going across a river stream, and placed one of their's there lol.
Sometimes the camera fucks me so when I think I'm doing 50+ likes I turn around and notice only 1 went through. You hate to see it, but sometimes it happens

I found that if my bike depleted it's energy, i could turn the handle left & right, which would gesture Sam's feet to push forward against the ground, consequently moving the bike forward a bit. It's a great way to keep your bike and your cargo that's in it, and traverse a short distance towards a charging station or end-point or something.
Now, imagine doing that on a downward slope.....
THIS!!!!!! I figured this out somewhat soon after I got the bike it ran out of energy close to two bridges I built to a generator and I tried doing that and I said to myself I'll be damned!!!! hell of a tip right there!!!!
One thing I didn't notice for a little while is that you can press triangle in the cargo menu to optimize your load. Also, ranking up at each delivery point is the best thing you can do. This is how you unlock a lot of upgrades to your equipment and items, as well as some customization.

Something i noticed when resting in the private room is that when BB is making sounds, go check on him and “smooth” him. Most of the time i did that i got an unusual cutscene that is different from the normal scene you get. Just something fun I noticed.
the grenade pouches you can craft during episode 3 are a game changer. same deal as the utility pouch for blood packs, but let you carry as many grenades as you have pouches installed on your pack.

Cult Mechanicus I think around Chapter 3 it starts. If the people on your server have already made the majority of them it’ll make your experience a whole lot easier trust me
A good tip is when you can craft the time fall shelters they come with a nice free repair spray as they activate. If it doesn't repair everything in one pass, walk out of the circle and get another free spray down!
Also the tiny cargo carriers are floating sleds... They have to be attached to you but you can basically shield slide on them... Press square to kick/push

@@shadowgaze At the Timefall Farm, there's a timed delivery bound for Lake Knot City that'll give you around 3000 likes. It requires a truck though as there's a lot of cargo.
There should be another from South Knot to Lake Knot that awards a couple thousand likes too.
It'll take several hours before you can replay them but they're brilliant, especially if you have the roads all built up.

My tips: Do not attempt to walk adjacent to any vehicles while carrying a lot of cargo. Sam may inexplicably lose balance and start moonwalking, only to collide with an invisible wall, which deals damage to your cargo.
Transfer cargo directly from the ground to your vehicle by pressing start and going to the cargo menu right after you exit the vehicle. This will save time and also give Sam fewer opportunities to flop over or moonwalk.
Do not attempt to hide from BTs or even hunt them one by one with grenades. This is a waste of time. Instead, get yourself caught by them so that you can take on the easy boss, which only requires 10 or so hematic grenades, and can stop the rain for 5 seconds, and rewards you with tons of hematic crystals. Just be sure to leave your cargo a safe distance away before you run in for battle like a brave porter.
Remember to do wheelies with your reverse trike to get over rocky terrain. You'll have pretty much no excuse to leave your bike behind as it can make it through some inedible obstacles, while having a lower probability of damaging your cargo than carefully traversing that terrain on foot, somehow.
Even if Sam is over encumbered, he can still jump into his reverse trike and rocket off like a jacked up jackrabbit. It's like the trike has magic anti gravity powers.
Don't expect to get any likes on your bridges or structures, no matter how perfectly placed they are. Perhaps someone else in another online dimension already put a structure there, so they don't see yours.. Or nobody likes you.
But never fear, because you can still get lots of likes. All you have to do is drop some resources on the road building structures, and boom! You'll have tons of messages letting you know that people are using your road. And you didn't even have to finish it! Try to add resources to as many of these road building structures as you can without actually finishing them. You'll get so many likes to compensate for the likes that you didn't get by actually completing things.
Keep on moonwalking on. Remember to hold L2 and R2 right before you hit the invisible wall.

Quick Tip - For those struggling to get around the Wind Farm BT’s, you can simply go onto the cliff side to the right. But be very careful as it might be tricky. If it’s already in the chiral network then someone most likely will have placed a climbing anchor to get to it.
A cool tip I use is to use a rope anchor to cross large bodies of water. Weighs less than a ladder, and longer
