One thing I think you forgot to mention with crouching... dont do it for too long. It will litterally hurt you back and you will take hp damage. I heard a quiet crunch sound and Sam exclaimed "well, there goes my back." I dont know if it keeps going if you dont straighten up and rest, as I immediately stopped, rearranged my cargo and rested with rubbing my shoulders, but be careful out there all you other porters.
Anyone who uses keyboard to play find that sam doesn't actually crouch with 'c'? Am I doing something wrong? When I tap or ot hold it sam just stands there and does nothing. Brand new keyboard too and the button does work everywhere else
Another tip. If you're going through an area with timefall and you have cargo you want to protect, rearrange your other cargo so that it surrounds it. This means the rain will hit the non important stuff first keeping your fragile cargo safer.
@@terryp2442 Definitely. Getting to the Collector and bumping up your star rating to earn the cover takes a little time though so at the start you do what you can until you get the good equipment :) Also make judicious use of people's Timefall shelters once you've unlocked them and are able to see players structures. They'll give you a dose of repair spray while you're under them.
Still boggles my mind that reviewers complain about falling over all the time when all you have to do is pull in both triggers and you literally never fall. The game tells you this immediately but all reviews show the same video of sam with a body on his back tipping over because they’re deliberately not pulling in the triggers, just to be dramatic about it.

Same I Five Starred every spot but Port Knot City before moving on to chapter 3, now I've stolen a mule truck, and maxed out the Craftsman, Engineer, Elder, and Lake Knot City. I'm currently somewhere between RANK 190 and 200 and I haven't even gone past the Weather Station. The progression is just so damn satisfying.
@@GetHyerrr9 for me lake knot is leveling super slowly like even 800 likes don't look like a lot of xp...I'm 4 1/4 stars in and it takes a lot of orders to get a decent chunk of xp
By following you old foot prints or other peoples footprints will eventually clear the area of some rocks and the ground will turn into a path after a few times of taking that same route making it easier to travel through there. I first noticed this when getting to the film directors shelter. When i got there i had to park my bike and walk up to the shelter. But after the cutscene i had a clearing for a path where i just walked.
@@MarkFreak12 Uncertain how it all works exactly, but I would assume that once someone unlocks Bridges, that Bridges will then take priority over simpler structures like Ropes and Ladders. How many Likes each has received could also be a factor
It seems to be an ethereal Time accelerant that falls like rain around the merging dimensional bridges they call Beaches, Chiral Particles exist outside of time and is unaffected by it.
I bought my first PlayStation in 20 years just for this game, death stranding is awesome and I have been loving my time in that world! It was worth every penny I spent on the system and the game!
Me describing death stranding: I can’t stop thinking about it and when I’m not playing it, I’m looking into it! Very, very, very, very addictive and refined.
yes, its amazing game definitely worth the money. I finished it 2 times on normal and hard and still want to play more but we can only hope that Kojima is making Death Stranding 2 now, its only a guess.
Adam Jensen Kojima literally said “if people want it, I will make it” said he wouldn’t just add stuff. Said he’d make the ENTIRE next game (if made) by SCRATCH ❤️
The ladders that lead to nowhere are not always malicious. I came across abandoned cargo on top of a mountain (clearly someones route did not go as planned) so I set out to retrieve it with two ladders. But that was all that was up there. So now there are two ladders going up to a mountain top with nothing. Sorry...
I just started playing and there was 5 pieces of cargo on top of a BT mountain. One was XL so I imagine nothing good happened there. I managed to climb to it through other players ladders and sneak back down and made a successful delivery :D
YES, although it's quite janky considering that Sam takes some seconds unzipping and whipping it out. Works very clearly when a BT catches you and you're surrounded by tar. Quick enough, and peeing on the emerging black dudes have some effect, though they'll keep appearing and you'll have to leave the tar pit regardless.
@@chetawanung-adjmagool9967 LMAO, I just thought that this urinate option was for the laughs... Now that it actually has a function... Its even more hilarious.
Its super easy to do right after you get grabbed and walk out of the radius where they group up and reach for you through the ground they cant go any farther and u pee on like 4 or 5 of them lolol
Completed the main game a few days ago after an immensely satisfying 70 hours and am now post game and attempting to unite the entire UCA as well as beat previous delivery records. An absolutely stunning game that's a true original I really don't understand the criticism and complaints of its pace or it being 'too weird' It all made sense to me and packed a really surprising emotional wallop that was only heightened by superb performances (Fragile, especially, is just such a wonderful character) and that damn stunning soundtrack that kept breaking my heart as a new track beautifully underscored my solo sojourn through the wilderness. I'd have loved the addition of a music player you could use outside but otherwise this game just left me in paroxysms of delight, tension, suspense and, most surprising, blabbing like a flippin' BB come that final delivery. Just watching this video has made me want to get back into Sam's boots again (Sturdy Level 3 design and not shitty sandalwood!) and further delver into this utter masterpiece of video game design. I can't stress enough how much naysayers should ignore all preconceptions and play this game. It'll take time, patience and trial and error but it redefines 'open world' in that, though it's very quiet and empty out there, the terrain, environment and weather have never felt so important as when delivering a pizza, life saving drugs or lugging human cargo through snowy capped mountains. Plus, everyone needs to use a floating carrier as a snowboard at least once in their lives ...
Can you guys tell me why you love it so much? I’m not trying to be a dick or anything I’m genuinely curious so I can make up my mind on buying it or not. It looks incredibly boring just delivering packages over and over and the slight action you seem to get seems boring and repetitive too. Is this basically how the whole game is? Please enlighten me on why you guys love it because I was so hyped for this game but the gameplay just doesn’t look fun.
erko78 Im not finished with the game but I’m almost at the mountains so I could tell you a lot. For one the game is very very complex, and yes there is a lot of deliveries but there’s so much more. This is the ultimate free lance game, you can play it however suits you by building structures to make things easier, take vehicles such as trikes, trucks, ect. There’s a lot of combat in game if you so chose to fight against the mules, and bt’s however I would advise not to do that as often early in the game because it would be rather difficult. The progression you make in the game provides you with valuable weapons, exoskeletons, and equipment that will make those situations much easier, because later in the game when you unlock the weather station you acquire the ability to see where timefall will be on the map for up to the next 30 minutes, so that’s creates another dynamic of planning and timing. I can not stress enough the fact in this game you have to plan things out in terms of timing, and even in terms of your character because Sam has key factors such as his stamina, blood level, ect to where if they’re low doing missions will be tougher, so you have to strategically go rest, take showers, and use the restroom, and that brings another point, eating, sleeping, showering, and using the restroom have very important reasons of why you do it and it isn’t some random or nuance mechanic. The main point from saying all that which I didn’t even scratch the surface is that the game although is very complex will become more suitable and familiar once you learn how you want to play it, there will be a lot of times where you have to adapt to various situations, but you still have the overarching way of your particular style. Now I haven’t talked about the story or lore, believe me when I say this, the story in this game is beyond incredible and very unique, although it falls into the post apocalyptic with game like metro exodus, it uses this setting in a way that’s completely unique and refreshing. I won’t go too deep into it but say that there are two type of cutscenes in this game, the more frequent one where it is a short but very interesting memory of your bb(bridge baby), and the more familiar cinematic scenes, both are really great and cohesive to the story. You also have a lot of emails, interviews, and uncovered data to read.Another dynamic of the game is working with other players to build and provide support such as items and equipment, and with that being said the social part of likes is very fundamental in this game from other players and clients but This message has been too long so to wrap this up I would 1000 percent suggest you play the game, you will love it, I would just say early in the game be patient, learn as much about how the game operates early, and you will be rewarded by having one of the most satisfying games you’ve ever played. Last thing, if you have a 4K tv and headphones use them because the graphics and aesthetics are beyond amazing.
Idk what you guys are talking about. The optimize function is really helpful. If youre that concerned, optimize your cargo, then switch around stuff afterwards. It saves a lot of time
I found it always optimised things the best way, PCC and tools on body and tool rack, cargo on back, grenades in the pouch once i'd unlocked the customise backpack, and blood bags in utility pouch
Always claim materials from facilities they refill over time, open up the chiral net in an area before contributing any materials to the road pavements so you won't have to build it all by yourself, sticky guns can be used to stagger MULES with cargoes, bolas can be used againts BT catchers, always bring a floating carrier to make hauling cargoes from cosplayer to your vehicle much easier also applies to chiral artist and others where your vehicle cannot go to! >.
Big tip I wish I knew earlier is to ride the motorcycle at full speed and tap X button to pull up and “jump” over rocks and streams, you can totally clear rivers!
I know this is old as hell but I just got a PS5 with a ps plus subscription so I've just recently become obsessed with the game. This is for anyone out there like me just starting their first play through... I was getting frustrated at how slow the vehicles seemed to be, but I assumed I'd eventually unlock better faster ones as I progressed. I contended with having to use the occasional speed boost signs (even placing several myself) until I realized that just by clicking in L3 (the run button) while driving will put your vehicle into a faster and more tolerable boost mode. It burns through battery charge quicker but shouldn't be an issue if you stick to highways. I felt so stupid as it's seemingly obvious but I somehow missed it and have a feeling I'm not the only one.
@@SmokeyChipOatleyCheers mate 👋😊, Thanks a lot for the tips! I just started my first play through! as well Now that DS have been released on Xbox Series X, Lucky us Xbox owners 😉, Enjoy the game 😄🎯..
@@michaelgustav3035 two days after I beat the game Sony released the trailer for DS2. Couldn’t have asked for better timing lol. Not sure if you’ve seen it yet but in case you haven’t, try to wait until you finish the first game first. It’s ok if you’ve already seen though. Hope you’re enjoying the game so far! Feel free to ask me any questions about the game.
When you shower you can move the camera. Know how the game goes into reflex mode (time slows down) and it does that little cinema for the BT warning? You can turn those off and keep the game momentum by going to your control options in the settings. Anytime you deliver material to A facility you can claim them at no costs instead of stealing from the mules like me. Don’t rest on A slope because it’ll take longer to regenerate. If you’re stumbling with too much cargo try to spin in A circle instead of grabbing your cargo and holding back because you’ll only keep going forward. Always scan water and hills no matter what. If your reverse bike has cargo bring it close to the terminal and you can deliver cargo without removing it from your bike. When you soothe BB you can press your touch pad to soothe him verbally. When you rest you can also whistle the Bb theme with the touch pad- the touch pad is full of Norman Easter eggs. Visit share lockers and stock up on material and deliver them to your facility.
I had max cargo in the middle of nowhere in the mountains and was going through sandals like nothing. I was not about to drop the cargo being max ceramic but done it, taking naps for so long, I was about to give up when I seen Porter's in the distance. I spammed the talk button and they slowly came to me a couple steps per hit of the button. When they finally got near I dropped the cargo and they picked up one each. Then I looked at the map and figured out what city they would be going to and went ahead. When I got there they was just approaching so I said hey and they offered me my cargo back. After putting my supplies in my private storage I finally went to my room for a nap. When I woke up I discovered both my hands and feet where black with frostbite from being in the mountains for so long.
Did you happen to zoom in on Sam's feet by chance before showering? I... wholeheartedly regret my decision. I'm sure you know what I'm alluding to but if you or anyone else is confused, I must warn you to proceed at your own risk. You cannot unsee that.
I keep seeing people say the carrier only carries you downhill. Not true, press square and Sam will push like a skater does. Do it repeatedly to gain momentum and lean into the hill. You'll be shredding like you were back on the Big Shell in Sustenance...
I recommend running forward and setting up ladders and ropes before starting the expedition. Preparation is key and without cargo to worry about you can focus setting up the route you will take.
Build roads and build zip lines for the rest of the areas where there are no roads. Zip lines can take you up and down a mountain which makes the snowy areas a breeze to get around on. Learn what all of the structures are used for and use them wisely and you'll be just fine.
the throwing items thing is properly part of the combat. it slows down for a second upon knocking out a MULE, and in this time you can grab their package out of the air, and throw it at the next one. It's pretty cool as it allows you to use their stuff, rather than damaging your own. just knock the first guy out, then chain all their parcels into their faces.
Can't remember how it was at the beginning but later I've noticed that it's practically impossible to fall over with even high cargo if I press both mouse buttons while running
my favorite way of travel is zip-lines, they especially help out once you travel throughout the mountains and need to go back and forth throughout them
@@Spazbo4 oh I don't doubt that! It's just immensely boring after after all the hard work lol, it's like what happened to me in CH3, I got a bike of my own, then a complete road network popped up from others and I literally did in 10 mins what would or should have taken hours lol. It's fun at first but then I just end up missing the harder parts after a little bit ;)
One big tip, I know this isn't a combat centric game... well until the last quarter or so, but even still, bring lots of weapons. It's much easier to just wipe out BTs than sneak past them. It's much easier to knock out MULES and terrorists than sneak past them.
The very first thing I started grunting was farming materials to get the entire road built in the first episode. I did the same with generators along the areas where the road was not able to be built. My husband said I was a nut but it made getting cargo delivered so much easier. Best game decision I ever made.
I'll never forget the satisfaction of getting the pizza from mountain knot city to Peter Englert's shelter. Went the whole way in a truck, and enjoyed building the roads along the way.
My biggest tip, the game saves when you first go into a terminal but not after your delivery. So, if you entrust stuff you didn't mean to, a reload doesn't cost much
70 + hours in, chapter 5 Learned about these fascinating techniques along the way. But fun to see a fellow Porter enjoying the journey as well. There are so many layers & elements to this game. Love it
On repeated actions like delivering cargo, going to private room, recycling, or even the bb flashbacks. Do NOT press options and then skip. Once you’ve already watched a cut scene, the next time it repeats you can skip it by simply pressing circle. Makes chugging all five monsters super fast and easy once you watch the 3 or 4 times. This also let’s you know if it’s a bb flashback you haven’t seen before because pressing circle only skips those you’ve seen
You can equip blood bags to your pouch which equip auto when empty. I think its 4 maybe 5 in total. This game is clever in so many ways but it is its own downfall for some. What i like about it, is that aspect, it actually gives you the choice if your going to like it or not. What i mean is that it makes you create your own gameplay and interaction. If you rely on prompts and auto ques from games to tell you how to get the most out of it then the game may seem very awkward, dull and often annoying but if you create your own discipline in the game, meaning find your own way, test things out, read the story info and interact with its premise then it can become an incredibly delightful game that is far different than any other. Don't play this game expecting to be told how to play. Play it with an open mind free from the boundaries all other games feed you. Take chapter 3 where the ball really starts rolling. As soon as your off the ship, don't continue with your bike, head straight to a mule camp, beat them to a pulp then steal thier truck. Then you can do multiple deliveries, you can also add materials in mass quantity up and down the highway over and over instead of being limited to so much metal you can carry, ok your still limited but you have much much more space to carry lots of materials.
What mechanic that the game that does tell you and absolutely guaranteed missed out: -[Cargo Container] and [Cargo] are two different assets. You can still get a S-Awesome Rank regardless of the [Cargo Container]'s Health. As long as the Cargo is in perfect condition no need to waste Repair Spray over [Cargo Container] Health when inside the Shelter. -Keep Important Cargo on the Backpack side of SAM, Stacked Cargo actually shields your Cargo keeping it from getting damage from the Rain.
Gimme Apen after 75 hours and still probably have 20 to 25 left of campaign left,, I’m fully uniting everyone as go...just learned that, 5 min ago and why I’m here lol.
Actually even if a tool or weapon is on your back you can still quick equip it no matter what and true, it is better to place items where they will be safer especially pizza but hitting the optomoze button first is better because it puts all the heavy stuff at the bottom for better balance.
3:15 Why not just hold L2 and R2? But yup, your point still stands :) And the game does tell you about the road mechanic and you even have to do it for a quest once. And I got a big one the game doesn't tell you; NEVER knock out MULE's near a box thing (where you can store items in.) Be it one from you or another player. I did that once and there was important and even story cargo inside and I was unable to get it back to progress. It won't open or come up when enemies, even knocked out, are nearby. Fast traveling didn't help, going to another region didn't help, going to the private room or sleeping didn't help and 1-2 hours of delivery also didn't reset the MULE's. So keep this in mind and don't make the same mistake I did, guys x-x Had to re-do a lot of stuff later and am happy I had an auto-save there. I save often, but this caught me by surprise. Other than that, thanks for the video, even if the "destroying other people's stuff" thing isn't really true, like some pointed out in the comments already.
@@ralphsevelius2504 disagree, the game is about connecting people again and rebuild. In an environment like the mountains with no passes to build roads it would be a natural thing to eventually build a zip line or cable car type thing, it's what would be needed to be done, besides, it only breaks the game if you the player choose to put them everywhere, you "break" the game by spamming a feature
As far as stacking your packages, make sure that any packages you have that need to be packed flat are not upright. This is mainly for the pizza missions but there are other flat deliveries.
I just started this game a few days ago and I'm 33% done with Chapter 3. this game is so damn good. I am playing the directors cut of course, so maybe that makes enough of a difference early on, but honestly once you get around halfway through chapter 2 and do several optional deliveries the game picks up a lot. It is slow but around 8 hours into it, I became so hooked on it that I spend my busy time thinking about how excited I am to get back to it. I understand it's not for everyone, but if you like action/adventure RPG's, I highly recommend you try it and don't give up on it until you've reached Port Knot City. IYKYK, but that part reeled me in to the point that I already know I'll end up with well over 100 hours of play time in this game.
Ah yes. Resin. My favorite melee weapon. Some tips for you all: These will mostly pertain to the Director's Cut however. Spoilers for campaign, preppers, and equipment ahead! • Whoever contributes the most materials for a road segment will have their name displayed when the road segment is completed. You can have your name on multiple road segments. So if you want your name on all segments, go offline and build all the roads from the start. This will rake you in the most likes daily. (Not for the faint of heart, it is a hell of a slog without help from porters.) • If you are near corpses when they go necro, there won't be a voidout. Instead, there will be BTs in that area where the corpses lied. You have to eliminate all the BTs for Couriers to safely go through this route again. • If you are killed by a Boss BT, the large BT that appears when you are captured by a BT, this will create a crater where you died that is 100 meters across. On your map will be the location of this crater and a large handprint in the center. Chiral density will then drop to nothing for a while in that area. • 15 total corpses can fit in the Truck in game. 14 in the cargo bed. One in the passenger seat. • You can jump ramp with everything. Including trucks, roadster and I believe the Floating Cart. • You can *theoretically* traverse chiral bridges in all forms of transportation. Including bikes, roadsters and trucks. One caviat though: Only the tires of the vehicle will make contact with the chiral bridge. the rest of the vehicle will phase through. • You can use your floating cart like a snowboard in the snowy areas. • Red BTs can be killed by either cutting their cord or shooting them with the special weapons found at the end of the game. The prepper who gives them is very....*cheesy.* • Chiral Crystals do actually increase your carry capacity. At 50,000 Chiral Crystals, you can hold up to 199.9 kg of weight over your max carry weight. There is no difference past 50,000. • You can use Climbing Anchors to traverse water faster. You still however cannot traverse water that comes up as red on your Odradek. Doing this consumes stamina so pay attention to your remaining stamina. • Your materials in each shelter, distro center and city are limited. They restock only when you gather supplies (be it from porters or from MULE or Terrorist Camps) and replenish them with the Recycle option, or do Materials Deliveries. Passing certain points in the campaign also replenishes supplies for each center, shelter, etc. • You can grab and hogtie enemies from the front in the first couple frames they detect you. • You can replenish the durability of your boots by passing through certain campaign points. Namely the ones that involve moving you to new areas. • Enemies do not pay attention to Remote Stun Bombs. So rig one on an enemy who is unconscious or dead to lure in someone. • Enemies may not hear your suppressed weapons, but they will however hear the bullet hit something. You could use this to lure an enemy somewhere. This also works on BTs. • BTs are umbillicaly bound to their location. Meaning they cannot keep chasing you after a certain distance. Much like Boss BTs! • BTs will immediately become visible to you when detected. Regardless of BB revealing them to you or not having BB at all! This puts you at risk of being captured so use caution. • Extreme Jumps are available to you at the very edge of a jump ramp. Timing is key. • Floating Carriers can be used while on Zip Line. (ONLY IN DIRECTOR'S CUT.) • On Very Hard, Boss BTs have different strategies. The Lion BT will attack you with Two Boss BTs. And at the very end of the game, when there is constant timefall, 3 to 4 Lion BTs! • Sleep Grenades work on all living people. Including the terrorists. On very hard it takes 2 grenades per person, unless you hit them in the head with one.
That song that plays at the start as you're delivering the body to the incinerator gave me some serious Nier: automata vibes for some reason. Like the atmosphere of exploring the world with that beautiful music.
Good tip. When building roads the best way to accrue likes is to build roads before you actually bring that region on to the chiral network. This ensures that you won’t contribute to someone else’s construction and when other people bring those regions online they may already have your road at their disposal.
Biggest pro-tip: Zip-lines, once you get to where you can build zip-lines then you should dismantle practically every other structure you've built and create zip-lines between different places. The most important ones at first but as you get more bandwidth eventually everywhere, also repair and upgrade other players zip-lines to help make it so you don't have to do it all with your own zip-lines. You will get a ton of likes this way but also it will make getting S ranks super easy (especially timed ones). He's right about the roads though, those should be your priority when you first arrive as you will gain a ton of likes, especially if you can complete a section or two.
You're not completely out of luck if your truck battery runs out. Just wait a few minutes and the battery should have recharged by sunlight just enough so you can maybe reach the nearest generator. Just don't boost to get there though as it may drain your battery again before you get there.
I just started playing this game a couple of days ago and have to say that there's so much more then what we've seen. Its a very different experience and i really am enjoying it!
I recently got back into Death Stranding and love this game. I have followed and enjoyed the Metal Gear Solid series. Now I wonder how Death Stranding will hold up as I finish my first Play-Through of this very striking visual game. Time to make some deliveries and get back to gaming at its finest.
Imma huge MGS fan myself and just finished it a few days ago. If you like Hideo Kojima's work then you love this game. It's a bit slow at first but once it starts to pick up traction and u get better weapons and equipment unlocked it get sooo soo much better. Go Have fun out there!
It would be cool if the game progresses and after the bt's are gone you could build later whole cities and stuff with the community. Like literally rebuilding america.
Nah they're right it only moves stuff to your arms and legs to fit more on your back, it doesn't for example order the stuff on your back in any specific stack, or take into account what exactly goes where on the body. It's more to quickly shuffle stuff to fit more on your back but you can get more specific by doing it yourself, I've found a couple of times hitting optimize was counter-intuitive for me.
@@zacharyawazos2812 No, it loads heavier stuff lower for better balance. How have you not noticed that? It also loads blood bags into utility pouches, grenades into the grenade bags, boots to boot clip, etc. It literally does everything they were talking about.
@@maulcs You're right, I was wrong. I do distinctly remember towards the beginning I had to reorganize some stuff, but that was probably fixed in an update. My bad :p
Escape the 1000 range limit , instead of off loading put the delivery in private locker storage then do same at target destination allowing you to return and pick up the packages left behind befor making delivery , just don't forget to off load from private locker at target destination prepper they can not access your locker for full delivery.
Auto Organize is amazing, except when it sucks. I had a pizza to deliver and auto organize decided that standing it on end in my backpack was the best way to organize my cargo. Granted, I caught it quick enough but still took 5% damage to my cargo because of auto organize. So yeah, always check before just letting auto organize take the reigns.
Hey! My PC doesn't have an "L1" key. Can you be a bit more generalist in your command references? And the game does tell you about the compass and falls, BTW.
Another Tip : You can use your 'Strand' tool to tie cargo down to the floating carriers and transport bike (Presumably this makes it more resistant to being knocked loose or falling off should something run afoul)
Understand that auto arrange isn’t best like he said for important packages so they don’t fall off but as far as weapons go. The game lets you press right directional on the dpad to access them quickly. Even the little cargo cages can be accessed from there and dropped without going into options and managing cargo.
Another tip is to put all cargo you don't want stolen in a locker before heading on kicking some mules ass.. Put a pcc postbox down close to their camp and load it off
Try to unlock the zipline as soon as possible, it makes delivery to preppers and station through BT area easier e.g road to wind farm, south knot to Timefall farm
I gotta admit all these tips are pretty helpful and I didn't think they would actually be tips the game doesn't tell you. The blood bag one is pretty obvious though. You learn pretty quick to always carry blood.
You can use oxygen mask in BT incounters, just equip , crouch, and u can get close enought to cut their umbilical cord without thrm notice u, or having to hold your breath
I thought about trying this and fabricated some masks in chapter 8 but backed off because I did not want to risk getting caught. Thanks for the heads up porter. Here is a like.

it's to weed out all the casuals lol. I took my time on all beginning missions.
One more time: Dismantling other people's structures only keeps it from appearing to you anymore. Not others
I once dismantled someone else's ladder to replace it for a full-blown bridge, does that means nobody else can see that bridge or what?
@@MarkFreak12 your built structure will show in others games just that ladder wont appear to you anymore.
@@MarkFreak12 Uncertain how it all works exactly, but I would assume that once someone unlocks Bridges, that Bridges will then take priority over simpler structures like Ropes and Ladders. How many Likes each has received could also be a factor
@@Polygonmaster2 It's kinda tricky as both structures can't co-exist on the same space, I had to remove the ladder before I could place the bridge.
I found this out and immediately demolished someone's pointless bridge in the middle of the path. Don't feel bad, they'll never know😜
Here's another great tip! If you notice a rainbow suddenly pass the screen, it's a sign that time fall is coming or ending soon.
You can also look up in the sky and see them over BT zones and see the strands coming down from miles away.
I would take longer routes just to avoid that
Sounds wise. I became a fearless BT hunter.
I just started yesterday, what is time fall?
It seems to be an ethereal Time accelerant that falls like rain around the merging dimensional bridges they call Beaches, Chiral Particles exist outside of time and is unaffected by it.

Me describing death stranding:
I can’t stop thinking about it and when I’m not playing it, I’m looking into it!

Sorry...
set a sign there, it will get you like from explorers
Yeah drop a great view sign and if ppl follow your footsteps you'll get likes.
I just started playing and there was 5 pieces of cargo on top of a BT mountain. One was XL so I imagine nothing good happened there. I managed to climb to it through other players ladders and sneak back down and made a successful delivery :D
You could literally urinate on the BT's if you don't have any grenades
What ? is that gonna work ?
YES, although it's quite janky considering that Sam takes some seconds unzipping and whipping it out. Works very clearly when a BT catches you and you're surrounded by tar. Quick enough, and peeing on the emerging black dudes have some effect, though they'll keep appearing and you'll have to leave the tar pit regardless.
@@chetawanung-adjmagool9967 LMAO, I just thought that this urinate option was for the laughs... Now that it actually has a function... Its even more hilarious.
@@chetawanung-adjmagool9967 Wow! thanks for the tips
Well I wish this game wins GOTY just to tease & despite Konami or the haters in general. I swear i'd be happy like it's my game.
@@fallengod8950 same! I'm so in love with this game it's literally perfect imo It's been a long time since a game brought me this much joy!
Very well said. Chiral boots only way to go. Lvl 3 boots aren’t that great
Can you guys tell me why you love it so much?
@@shepja87 I don't consider PCCs and ladders as important so PCCs and ladders being on my body or tool rack is an annoyance to me.
Optimze optimizes for space, not for balance though. So for me, it's pretty useless.
Always claim materials from facilities they refill over time, open up the chiral net in an area before contributing any materials to the road pavements so you won't have to build it all by yourself, sticky guns can be used to stagger MULES with cargoes, bolas can be used againts BT catchers, always bring a floating carrier to make hauling cargoes from cosplayer to your vehicle much easier also applies to chiral artist and others where your vehicle cannot go to! >.
You can drive to every prepper that's not in the mountains.
Mule camps resources respawns too. great when building or maintaining roads. Grab a truck and move to the road you're going build.
Big tip I wish I knew earlier is to ride the motorcycle at full speed and tap X button to pull up and “jump” over rocks and streams, you can totally clear rivers!
Thanks. I'll try this later. I already do it with the power skeleton and the double jump. Could never pull it off with the bike.

You can talk to bb? Through the gamepad?
Lazy Mitchell you can whistle, I meant VOCALLY not verbally 😂 when you’re resting press the touch pad and you can whistle the BB theme
Your first tip was the best tip lol
Thanks for BB tips. I love BB so much
I had max cargo in the middle of nowhere in the mountains and was going through sandals like nothing.
This dudes hair looks like maybe he’s a BT himself. It has that “I’m floating upwards on my own” thing going on.
HAAAAAAHHAAHAHAHAH!!!!!
Still unsure if the hair is animated in lol
I think this guys hair was photoshopped onto his head it looked so unnatural.
it's chiralium...
I keep seeing people say the carrier only carries you downhill.
Not true, press square and Sam will push like a skater does. Do it repeatedly to gain momentum and lean into the hill. You'll be shredding like you were back on the Big Shell in Sustenance...
Doing a wheelie before going through a river will get you through it faster.
I recommend running forward and setting up ladders and ropes before starting the expedition. Preparation is key and without cargo to worry about you can focus setting up the route you will take.
Why are they not showing what he’s saying it’s confusing🙄
Build roads and build zip lines for the rest of the areas where there are no roads. Zip lines can take you up and down a mountain which makes the snowy areas a breeze to get around on. Learn what all of the structures are used for and use them wisely and you'll be just fine.
This game is fascinating don’t be afraid to get this game... very well made
the throwing items thing is properly part of the combat. it slows down for a second upon knocking out a MULE, and in this time you can grab their package out of the air, and throw it at the next one. It's pretty cool as it allows you to use their stuff, rather than damaging your own. just knock the first guy out, then chain all their parcels into their faces.
Can't remember how it was at the beginning but later I've noticed that it's practically impossible to fall over with even high cargo if I press both mouse buttons while running
my favorite way of travel is zip-lines, they especially help out once you travel throughout the mountains and need to go back and forth throughout them
It's super fast and convenient but at the same time, it's no fun after 10 mins lol
@@terryp2442 it really helped getting through the last part of the game tho
Some say, the moss is still growing on the hosts head.....

Dude thank you for this. Put it on hold for Fallen Order but was gonna go right back to Stranding
“...seeeeem a bit daunting.”
i see what you did there. +1 for you, sir.
Then you can do multiple deliveries, you can also add materials in mass quantity up and down the highway over and over instead of being limited to so much metal you can carry, ok your still limited but you have much much more space to carry lots of materials.
if you dismantle something, you just do it for yourself, you dont "destroy, someones work"
What mechanic that the game that does tell you and absolutely guaranteed missed out:
-[Cargo Container] and [Cargo] are two different assets.
Great tips, I just got into the directors cut for my first play through and I’m so lost rn but this helped 😊
Just got a PS5 and the DC of this game and last night. I’m right there with you, but I’m enjoying it
Keep on keeping on
Actually even if a tool or weapon is on your back you can still quick equip it no matter what and true, it is better to place items where they will be safer especially pizza but hitting the optomoze button first is better because it puts all the heavy stuff at the bottom for better balance.
I'm absolutely loving the game
Already finish the game and still watch this... -_- cant resist..
Had the game a week now and absolutely love it. Vehicles handling is rubbish but all other aspects are amazing.
After seeing this video, I decided to take a gander at Death Stranding. Here’s to walking outside, since we can’t right now!
In the late game, Zip-Lines are really good!
I had a lovely network over the mountain :)
Yeah and if you’re really efficient with them they can kinda break the game.
The game does tell you about most of this tips, you just have to read them
Lol
Yes but this video was far more entertaining
I'm 50+ hours in and I use the auto-arrange every time. I didn't feel there was much difference in me doing it and the game doing it for me.
if you put important cargo on the bottom of ure stack it degrades slower. you don't have to do it really, but I do now.
@@EltonL oh i didnt know that but it makes sense. Im mainly just and dont want to bother with the arranging every single time lol

Some tips for you all:
These will mostly pertain to the Director's Cut however.
(Not for the faint of heart, it is a hell of a slog without help from porters.)
• If you are near corpses when they go necro, there won't be a voidout.
The prepper who gives them is very....*cheesy.*
• Chiral Crystals do actually increase your carry capacity.
(ONLY IN DIRECTOR'S CUT.)
• On Very Hard, Boss BTs have different strategies.
Like the atmosphere of exploring the world with that beautiful music.
brody lockwood ikr the music is actually really beautiful in death stranding I love it
Good tip. When building roads the best way to accrue likes is to build roads before you actually bring that region on to the chiral network. This ensures that you won’t contribute to someone else’s construction and when other people bring those regions online they may already have your road at their disposal.
Someone get this man some clippers.

I recently got back into Death Stranding and love this game. I have followed and enjoyed the Metal Gear Solid series. Now I wonder how Death Stranding will hold up as I finish my first Play-Through of this very striking visual game. Time to make some deliveries and get back to gaming at its finest.
who asked
Imma huge MGS fan myself and just finished it a few days ago. If you like Hideo Kojima's work then you love this game. It's a bit slow at first but once it starts to pick up traction and u get better weapons and equipment unlocked it get sooo soo much better. Go Have fun out there!
@@voli6570we really thought this was funny 2 years ago huh
My favorite way to take out mules is to hit'em with the reverse trike. So satisfying. You may damage the cargo they are carrying though.
does that kill them?
@@matheusmazza4398 Nope. Just knocks them out.
This game has me hooked!
Thank you! Finally just bought this game, played for a few hours, really enjoyed it. Looking forward to progressing!
It would be cool if the game progresses and after the bt's are gone you could build later whole cities and stuff with the community. Like literally rebuilding america.
That would be neat. Here's hoping the sequel expands building.
12:22 Optimize does everything you said though.
My bad :p
I agree getting swept away is the worst, although I haven't encountered any issues with grabbing ropes.
Didn’t get that. How to do that?
Loving the game! Definitely a new franchise. One word to describe the game is SATISFYING 🙂
Understand that auto arrange isn’t best like he said for important packages so they don’t fall off but as far as weapons go. The game lets you press right directional on the dpad to access them quickly. Even the little cargo cages can be accessed from there and dropped without going into options and managing cargo.
What happened to this "WhatCulture" guy's hair? Is that intentional? 🙄
Hahaha
Keep on keeping on
I hope Kojima makes a construction game next
Please I just want Factorio in the Decima engine
"Lighten the load" I see what you did there
I cant watch on that hair … is it bird house ? Who told him this looks good ?
Another tip is to put all cargo you don't want stolen in a locker before heading on kicking some mules ass.. Put a pcc postbox down close to their camp and load it off
Try to unlock the zipline as soon as possible, it makes delivery to preppers and station through BT area easier e.g road to wind farm, south knot to Timefall farm
Loving this game.
Good tips, really wish you had video examples, this could have been a podcast.
Thanks! I'm loving the game!! 👍
I literally went all across the map just to rebuild every single one of them
Having not played, and knowing very little about, the game makes watching this video kind of hilarious.
how you gunna mention you can walk the bike but not explain how to walk the bike?
