I saw this movie in theaters opening weekend. I remember people being super hyped for this movie for some reason. This was the first time I saw a movie so bad in theaters that I started laughing out loud, mocking it MST3K style with my brother the whole time. This and Spawn are probably the two worst movies I've ever seen in theaters, and therefore I have fond memories of them both.

Conquest was an awesome show. Low budget AF but still awesome. Glad it finally got a Region 1 release for the US a few years back. Now if only the MK animated series Defenders of the Realm that aired at the same time the Street Fighter animated series aired would get released that would be great. No, it wasn't the best but it's still MK so it's watchable.
I loved Mortal Kombat: Conquest. It was like Hercules + Mortal Kombat. It was a lot of campy fun. The series finale was one of the most shocking I have ever seen.
Yeah, I enjoyed the show for the most part. That ending though. I barely remember it, but I recall that they basically just killed everyone off. It felt like they got word that the show was canceled before the finished filming the season, so they said "fuck it"
@@FreshMetal80 It was meant to be a dream sequence that would be revealed in season 2 but with a second season not happening, the series ends with everyone dying. Which made it impossible for Conquest to be the movie prequel it was supposed to be, as movie Liu Kang was a descendant of Kung Lao, who dies with no kids in Conquest and also makes it not work as a game prequel because Lao was beaten by Goro and killed by Tsung in their continuity.
You didn't mention the fact the movie is a workprint and was never finished. Test screeners gave a positive reaction and the studio ripped the money away and called it done and released an unfinished movie. I doubt it was going to be much better, but I thought that would have been some interesting Mortal Krivia.
