This is really helpfull. Ive only beaten 1 or 2 boss in the past and i'm gonna need some upgrades to finished the game.
It's prolly a bit late for this. But I didn't have much issue. However I think it's because I have always set dash to r. You can do this from the options menu. Makes dash jumping way easier.

For the heart tank in spark mandrills stage, you don’t have to dash jump to get it. All you have to do is use boomerang cutter, but you have to be off of the wall whilst facing right. You can easily do this by wall jumping off of the wall and shooting right.
both armor armadillo and boomer kuwanger's heart tanks can easily be grabbed with kuwanger's special weapon. But I guess you can do those methods if you like the challenge

I kept starting the stage and going through the whole thing to jump up there for nothing because I kept hitting start and exiting after I got up there. Did that about 17 times (sarcastically) before I realized I had to actually finish the stage too.
The best weapon to use to get through the armored armadillo stage quick tho is to fully charge up your beam and switch to the octopuses weapon (the water stage weapon) and it gives you a water shield (video game logic) and that kills any enemy that only takes 1 hit to kill instantly without breaking off of you. Once you touch any enemy that takes more then 1 hit it goes away. It's very nice for riding the mining cart because that kills the harder enemy's with the spiked front and you just wipe out all the bats and other weaker things by just standing there. Gets you through the stage so much faster
Ah, you're not supposed to use Chill Penguin's charge shot to get that one heart tank, you're meant to just use the boomerang cutter to snag it. I also used that to get the heart tank in Spark Mandrill's stage.

7:58 once u fall down here u can slide down the wall on the right that’s just above the robot’s head and then get in front of the robot before u touch the ground. U have to avoid the spikes on the robot though. You should be able to run in front of the robot to get the heart before the robot destroys the wall that u need to get the heart.

LMAO, back in the 90s I used to get it without using any weapons =) Spent a whole half hour jumping around there just to succeed once and then pressed the wrong key lol... all this because of how the dude who wrote his walkthrough on Gamefaqs has suggested I get it =P
I play in a emulator and if I get the boots and finish penguin stage, I start any other stage without the boots. If I return to the penguin stage, the boots are there as if I never had it. Do I need to equip it somehow or its a bug from my rom?
I got the upgrade on Boomer Kuwanger with the Boomerang instead of using Ice Shotgun. Of course, if you want to get it before you beat Boomer, you have to use Ice Shotgun blast, but I just waited until I got the Boomerang.
@@tinooftime7149 no you don't. The point of beating bosses in their consecutive order is to ease up their environments for you. Chill Penguin isn't the first one, but he's the easiest to beat. After beating him an avalanche of some sort comes down on the Maverick Factory (Flame Mammoth's stage) and it turns lava to ice.

Getting this X Buster upgrade or at least TRYING to get it is almost fucking impossible. Why the hell did the game developers have to make getting that upgrade so friggin hard?!!!
It basically does 32 hits on the boss, you have to be at full and standing on the ground. It can kill most bosses with one hit, but Sigma 3 and 4 you'll have to do it a couple of times and get it right in his forehead beam.
Yes you are I have no idea why you would need to do that because after beating chill penguin the lava is gone and chill penguin is literally the first boss you go for so you took an insanely unnecessary step
Idk. It's clever. When you get the sub tank on this level with the power boots you can see on the left side of the wall that there's more breakable boxes, which I think was a hint to play the level again and look for breakable boxes before the sub tank.
Seriosly pissed me off trying to get the booster upgrade. whoever thought this would be a good way to get your booster upgraded must have been sick in the head.. its impossible! sigh. ill try again another day.
I had this original game on SNES when it came out. I was 10 years old. I never even knew that was an upgrade until now. And yes what a bitch to get. I actually don't think I ever even got half the hearts or energy tanks either. I bought an all in 1 emulator box and finally just got all this shit 30 years later🏅🤣

You can basically one shot that annoying ship in launch octopus with the storm attack.
On that final heart you can use the boomerang to reach it no problem.

Red Deadofrara are you referring to Flame Mammoths stage? You have to beat Flame Mammoth and then the lava will turn to ice
