I love how the X-characters are just going to town. Though it's also kinda funny to know the actual lore of the games in comparison to this, because the interaction at 4:33 is completely backwards. The original Mega while having a personality is still restricted by his programming, while X's big improvement is meant to be that he has the needed range of sentience to make fully unique choices.
To be fair the danger maverick reploids cause is negligible, because the collateral damage X causes is actually canon to the games. If you look and play mmx1, for instance, killing certain Mavericks affects the stages because those mavericks actually impeded his progress. Killing chill penguin freezes flame mammoths stage, killing storm eagle causes spark mandrills stage to be in slight ruin, launch octopus causes sting chameleons to flood. So in a way X's stage damages actually are affecting those hindrances even if he is destroying the landscape.
True dat. X was always the one with pacifist angst overflowing his memory buffers. Meanwhile, Mega Man was right on the edge of going "A problem occurred in the application 'Let Wily Live': NullPointerException in fucksgiven.dll."
I think it's pretty good for the cartoon - Megaman already has X's character so they gave him a (arguably less interesting but more "bad ass") substitute personality. It would be pretty pointless having two of Megaman in the episode if one was blatantly more competent in all ways than the other.
"Tracking down Maverick bots like spark mandrill is my prime programming" Lmao but the point of MegaMan X was that X was free to make his own choices regardless of the law of robotics. Free will, if you will.
Also, X was about as pacifist and non-violent as it gets. What's with this guy blowing up everything with 0 regard for collateral. This interpretation is just so stupidly unlike X. I feel like it this anime was written by someone who had X's artwork and never played the game.
@@Thornbloomto be fair though MegaMan x WAS programmed. He was a robot and had no illusions about that. He just had the ability (as all reploids did?) to write and modify their own program. Also- depending on when in the story x traveled back in time he may have been very focused on hunting mavericks. That said it was still a poor choice of wording given the lore.

+shpladau or a weird final megaman fame to tie up the loose ends or something it would start with regular megaman doing his usual stuff until he meets zero in the end then cut to the x time where sigma or that other white guy finds the original megaman and becomes all powerful or something
This episode was originally a set to be a pilot episode for X to get his own series. But the Megaman cartoon was cancelled only one episode after this one, so they never went ahead with an X series.
I like how the team responsible for this series was able to screw these characters up enough to make it entertaining and to piss me off simultaneously, but keep it cannon and related to the games enough to make it seem like a plausible alternative timeline.
I think x6 was actually worse since human were actually forced to live underground contrary to the megaman zero series where the humans had safe haven(neo acardia) the reploids were the ones being fucked over. Well until episode 3 and 4 where it was also bad for the humans thanks to the evil doctor and omega.
Maverick Hunter Zero The games weren't bad. It's the situation that humanity was in that was bad. In the zero series, only a few humans remained in Neo Arcadia, which leads us to believe that they were almost extinct.
Stinkybeans93 he might be a pacifist, but when he needs to get shit done he does it, hell, he fought a fucking war all by himself between megaman x8 and megaman zero 1.
Those CD(DVDs) are actually pretty relevant, those are rewriteable discs X has in his database since he woke up. It actually does make sense because that's the only technology Light installed that remained in X, in Cain's time the hardware itself was likely solid state drives.
This cartoon got something right in this episode, the massive difference in power between Robot Masters compared to Reploids, this is specially amplified when Megaman faces a War Machine like Vile, someone who gave the more advanced X and Zero problems during X1 and X3 , i just love how Megaman's Buster cant even scratch or faze neither Vile or Spark Mandrill and that they know this , merely walking forward with shot after shot just bouncing off them .
_X finally meeting Dr. Light in the past_ X: So doc, we gotta talk about where you keep hiding all those capsule upgrades. Don't you have a warehouse or something?
It… would make sense. Are the holograms of Dr. Light an AI based on him, which is how he can interact with X and Zero? Did he upload his consciousness into the capsules to fabricate them? Where does the sun go at night? I have so many questions
Well. The way I see it is it's better than the mega man series that aired years ago. I think we will take a hit in this depot one way or another. It hits home and looks the part mostly so I have to accept it.
X is like Future Trunks from DBZ. He KNOWS how dangerous the enemies can be because he’s seen the destruction they’ve caused in the future. That’s why he doesn’t hesitate to destroy them at all cost. It’s still funny to see him just blow shit up
Yep totally he definitely would never help the humans and make sure they were ok he totally would just mindlessly fire charge shots and probably accidentally kill people
Remember, this was made when Mega Man X was new; which means X's character development was open from interpretation. They didn't have a solid foundation for how he was meant to be showcased. It clashes with his personality NOW because we know now that X is more of a pacifist; who hates fighting but has no choice but to fight to protect others.
@Jaegar Ultima So basically the original concept they had for X during MMZ development, but a couple of centuries earlier (and a bit more sympathetic?)
"The lithanium rods you invented, Dr. Light, are worth BILLIONS in my time." "Yeah... so, almost as much as the fully sentient androids I invented in the present."
Lucas Cottica Silveira Robot masters arent fully sentient ,the have highly advanced A.I. to simulate it but theyre still bound by their programming, now reploids on the other hand ...
Considering the time this came out I'm surprised how well Vile came off. Usually villains back then were just mustache twirling evil or stupid. Vile came off like a machine with a personality here. Was this the same voice cast as Reboot and Beast Wars? I could swear Wily sounds just like Rattrap and Dinobot while Megaman sounds like Bob. Also X showing up to save the day with badass music? I think he's taking his robo crush on Zero a little too seriously here.
I think it works because it’s to show just how advanced the new machines are, especially with their better designs like Spark Mandrill and Vile straight up look like they belong in another show compared to the goofy Robot Masters design.
I love how X looks almost like a real guy in armor, while everyone else is drawn closer to the traditional artstyle 5:11 That ain't Megaman X, that's Megachad X
Indeed, my one and only television appearance stuck with an at the time incompetent mad scientist who would go on to create one of my enemies. Although I wonder what would've happened if Zero had accompanied X with him and they see each other.

NeutralGuyDoubleZero Right on the X7 part, however, by the time the Zero series came, X himself realized that not matter how many battle he had fought, he get to the point of being in the despair event horizon were if would not longer have meaning to fight. When i see this cartoon version of X, i always remember what Inafune said long ago when he was developing Megaman Zero, he wanted the Original X, not a copy, to be the villain, someone that would protect humanity and destroy mavericks "Not matter the cost".
ljzero fernandez Well it didnt turn out that way. The one in megaman zero was indeed a copy. And while that may be a similar concept, the scale between these 2 versions are so far apart, and what with this being a kids show in the 80's and thus would never delve into a darker subject matter such as commiting mass murder/genocide on reploids to save humans, Im pretty sure its safe to assume that their intention here was just a hardened hero from the future.

Well, if you use a silent alarm at a bank, don't you think it gives off a sound where the responders are?

NeutralGuyDoubleZero Right on the X7 part, however, by the time the Zero series came, X himself realized that not matter how many battle he had fought, he get to the point of being in the despair event horizon were if would not longer have meaning to fight.

ljzero fernandez Well it didnt turn out that way.
