    Enjoyed this dissonant, jazzy, and lively Symphony by Schulhoff !

    This symphony is delicately orchestrated. It does not avoid strong contrasts which articulates the construction., but prefers more delicate tones . Even the trumpts are sometimes used in such a refrained style. Thi symphony is indeed a lovely score.

    Thank you, Wellesz Company, for sharing so much fine and undeservedly neglected music! Haydn would have enjoyed this symphony, I think.

    It would be very helpful, if the beginning of each movement would have been indicated. Thank you The WelleszCompany for such great collection!

    It's difficult to combine eclectical approach with consistency, and a good taste. But this symphony is a very nice example of this. Thanks for sharing

    The tempo of the Scherzo alla jazz is Allegro assai.

      @@palomaschall3984 Thanks for that, what a fascinating story. Mind-blowing, just mind-blowing. The piece above would go well with an intro motion shot, and the more I thought about it, the more It reminded me of Spielberg...sailboats gliding the water, or a boy on his bike throwing newspapers onto lawns ... where he gets most of the background story told in one opening scene, with no dialogue. There is definitely a clear artistic motive for using it too, I am sure of it. Brilliant, you've made my day, and it's not often I can say that about TH-cam comments.

      @@aaronsmyth7943 It's stuff like this that really makes me appreciate John Williams more because he's responsible for quite a sizable chunk of a Spielberg movie's atmosphere.

    How did composers in 1932 get such a big sound?

      what do you mean by big sound?

    • @bigred8432
      @bigred8432 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What? There are no instruments here that didn’t exist at the turn of the century. Do you mean the actual recording? The recording wasn’t made in the 30s

      Someone tell this guy about Wagner. It's gonna blow his mind.
