Gideon Klein was an amazing composed who was murdered at age 24 by the Nazis during the Holocaust. His works are mature, and complex for his age, and extend a wide range of instrumentation. Truly some of the best pieces I've ever studied. Thank you Vojtech Saudek for arranging his work, and there for giving him a voice, and reviving his music.

Vojtech Saudek was my violin teacher here in Paris, he changed my life. Now I'm composer for pictures and often I think how I owe him.

Amazing work - esp. considering it was composed in the Terezin concentration camp.

With this piece and its historical background, I always have to think of Borges' short story 'The Secret Miracle'.
