Well, that hits me hard. I was there in the same situation before, but we talked about it and because i love the guy, i build my patience and understanding. He teached me things which i nver knew, i also did the same way to him. But then, things will never stay the same as time passes by, we broke up because we both have dreams to fulfill. Wherever he is now, i am happy for him. 😢😘☺️

I'm a new subscriber of yours and I been watching a lot of your videos and a few other peoples about japan. I can share my exp as newly got into a long-distance dating Japanes guy. I like him, a lot.. I know he likes me aswell. I know he is busy.. actually he is a workaholic lol Also, he is a bit famous in Japan, too. So we usually contact each other once a week (and sometimes I really want to strangle him for that) but it is as it is.
Also, I wonder about some certain habbit which I noticed that Japanese people have. I self-learning Japanese language so I try chatting with Japanese people. Why is it that, when asking several questions about any type of situation they answer only to the last question? like their brains can't proceed more answers at a time.

We do not meet halfway, i meet him halfwayすぎて😅however, it is okay. I do not weigh the amount of love I can give and how much he could reciprocate. It does not need to be totally equal. That is how love is I supposed!

Hi Santi, thank you for making videos about Japanese dating. I just started dating a Japanese man & found your videos extremely helpful. I hope you can help me with my situation too.
I found my boyfriend through Tinder in Vietnam. He is 33, I'm 24. He is a CPA in big4. However, his English in casual conversation is not super fluent. So I need to be very patient to understand what he is saying. Therefore, communication is quite a problem for us. Furthermore, he hates texting, saying it's a waste of time. He started texting “good morning” at 6 pm & “good night” at 9 pm to minimize the daily texting period. We only meet once a week on the weekend (his only free time allocated for me). The weirdest thing is when I told him maybe I would apply to his company to see him more often, he answered in perfect English that he doesn't want to be in the same office as me blad blad blad.
My (overthinking) question is his English really bad, or did he pretend to ignore what I was saying. I also want to ask if meeting once a week (5-6hr) is regular in Japan? Is it true that most Japanese his age dislikes texting?
Thank you so much. Have a nice day!

Sorry to say this but most likely he’s married and has a wife in Japan and just wants sex. Obviously he has a good job and he’s in his 30’s, high possibility that he’s taken. He might have multiple sex partners in Vietnam. He only sees you for 5-6 hours and doesn’t spend the whole weekend with you, you’re innocent.

I have a Japanese boyfriend and he always tells me "I love you" in English and my local language. I am aware that they don't say it that much so I became somewhat surprised and asked him why he doesn't seem to fit the stereotype. He said that in Japan, being straightforward with feelings is avoided to avoid awkward situations and you can so be perceived as rude. But he acknowledges that being honest is very important in every relationship. We chat in Line every eveining only after work. He explained extreme work culture and how it can affect constant communication.
    Understanding is key.

She might feel insecure because she is unsure of his interest because of his lack of investment. A lot of people want their partner to be a best friend and correlations have shown that a best friend who has similar needs to your own make better relationships in the long term. If they can find a way to understand each other and meet in the middle it could work. I agree that not talking every day doesn't mean someone is cheating however it does indicate that maybe his interest level might not be the same as hers because humans naturally prioritize whats important to them. If someone is a priority you would likely want to talk to your partner daily unless you have an avoidant attachment style in which case that might be overwhelming for that person.

A bit off topic, but what do you think about Nobita's video on advising some if not most U.S. North Americans to not attempt at making a life in Japan?

When my Japanese boyfriend said ' I really like you but let's break up' . I asked him why, he said my mind to him is heavy for him, it's better for him to have lighter relationship .I can make that as he wants but he said I don't need to adjust , he seems really like me but why I don't get the answer. I told him to tell me that " I don't like you and I don't want you" He can't say it because he said it's not his true mind. I'm confused. I really like him , I don't know what to do. I want to keep this relationship.
My question is is that normal that Japanese man can't handle that showing so much affections to them

Hi Santi, I saw some of your videos. I'm just interested in the culture, being that I like a Japanese celebrity lol. I have a bf, but I'm just curious about Japanese culture. It seems that Japanese men dont really love, especially based on what you said about love, especially on how easy they can cheat and that many Japanese people do cheat smh. It seems like Japanese people have no remorse or emotions. Or am I wrong? Japanese are very polite and are about family, yet they ignore people, cheat, and don't show emotion, so it doesn't doesn't really seem that way. No offense!

Me and my man live in a long distance rs now, because of my moms death. But its 7 years since we are together, I have to say, I also feel jealous, or stressed if he not reply immediately or we talk just half hour/day... but i must understand that he is working, we have 8h of time difference right now, he need rest, he can be moody so he just dont want to talk that much... there is a lot of factors. I used to ask him a lot if he really love me or cheat on me and seriously GIRLS DONT DO THAT! I needed long time for realize it make him pissed, japanese guys not say love but try to show it. Im european, and it was completely normal for me that we say and show love, but japan just another level in this. It is hard as long distance relationship but better if we not force them to check in to us every hours. Sometimes we talk only like 15-30mins/day, yes it hurts, im alone in my country now and pretty depressed after my moms death but Its need to be accepted if he dont have that much time. japanese workplaces are different, he cant just chat everytime, and also he need time for prepare for the next day and eat, bath, sleep...with different timezones its impossible to make relationship perfect. Well idk if this comment help to anyone, but i thought i share it.
