RIP Pelle Lindbergh
Those 80s Flyers jerseys were the best.
Maybe the flyers medical staff had been shit way before Lindros
You wonder how many concussions did Bobby Clarke suffer as a player
RIP Peter Zezel.
RIP Pelle.
Very interesting video! I really enjoy content like this.
-Greetings from Finland!
It's make me sad that Lindbergh only was able to play 1season in the NHL if I Remember it correctly. He had an impressive resume as a newcomer. Mvp in the AHL. Then veznia trophy in he first full season in the NHL. Bernie Parent really liked him as well.
Actually played 3 full and parts of 2 others
Chris Hoke Yep, and it’s kinda bizarre how he played 8 games the season before his rookie season and then 8 games at the start of the season when he died. Also, the season tickets for the 85-86 season had a different player on each ticket and the first game after he died is the one he was on!!
Can’t wait for you to do the ‘87 team.
Bergen has to have one of the higher career points--per-game of all time at least.
Congrats on 39k!
I thing to bring up about the "84 85" Philadelphia Flyers is that team was the youngest team in professional sports across the board and that was a magical year for that Mike Keenan team " a coach Know one heard of before his hiring" As for Pelle Lindbergh what a neat special and quick as a cat unique goalie. Myself will never forget that " Rookie Ride" that team took me on and just to fall short in the finals against the Mighty Oilers " WAS A SPECIAL SEASON " - Thanks Shannon for doing a video of that worthy 85" Philadelphia Flyers !!!
The board is a fountain of knowledge and I must drink!
Thats screwed up, making players play while injured. That would be a lawsuit waiting to happen today.
I often heard of Goalies doing that before the 67' Expansion and before they wore masks.
Keenan would certainly face suspension
You raise a good point about the 2-3-2 setup. My recollection is that the only team to win while having the four home games were the 94 Leafs against San Jose. There might be another but usually, it was a death knell.
I grew up watching the Springfield Indians.
Do you think there's any chance Mike Keenan gets into the HOF as a builder? He would definitely deserve it with the amount of wins he has but he's made so many enemies in the league that I don't know if he would ever get in.
Mike Keenan, the ultimate *bridge-burner*
I think that Bob Froese was in net for the Flyers in Game 5 of that cup final?
Froese took over in the 3rd period of game 4.
That was pretty sad what could have been
If ovi wins this year, Is he on KHL watch?
Ya i checked. Bob Froese and Pelle both played in Game 3 ... same for Game 4 and the 8 goals in Game 5 were all on Bob Froese. Pelle only played the first 2 games in full. Then was pulled in Game 3 ...then Froese was yanked ....back and forth..... Game 4 Pelle came out for dehydration... probably too many beers. Then Froese played the entire Game 5. Also Tim Kerr only played 1 full game in this series. He was reinjured in Game 2 i believe.
The Oilers objected to Lindberghs water bottle on the net. (Not a common practice then) Without it Lindbergh struggled with hydration.
@@1bert719 Pelle injured his knee in the series against Quebec and it bothered him the rest of the playoffs.
I thought Bob Froese came in for Pelle who was injured in Game 3?
Pelle was hurt in the Nordiques series. He came out in the 3rd period of game 4.
😊
39K! And the number will climb up faster and faster. Philadelphia, how I loved to dislike you so freaking much.
moral of the story- don't drink with a sore tummy
Hmhmm
