Aw Todd is such a dolly! I love when our new rescue does this to me 😍 The first time he leaned against me and curled his big floof tail around my leg I started crying from happiness. It’s amazing what joy they bring to a household ❤
Thank you for that spoiler! I read it before watching the video so I knew to look for it. Oh my gracious that was adorable!!! 😻😻😻 I had to watch it 3 times!!!
This is how everyone should treat their cats. The way you communicate with them, play with them, read their body language so well and ask for consent before petting. Its so nice to see and you can see how loved and safe they feel. Adorable!!
It's so sweet and poignant that Todd is concerned that Dad is leaving him for more than a work day. It's also sweet and trusting that Todd expresses his concern rather than sulking or staying silent about his worry. Such a testament to the trust and bond Dad and Todd have. I also love that Glamour is asked about pettings, so she feels her digniy is respected. Not every Cat needs this sort of request, but since some do, this is an excellent thing to display and hopefully spread to other Cat parents, well done, Dad!
I have talked to my sixteen year old boy, Levi, all his life! He understands many words! We have long conversations in which I try to guess his words by his tone of voice. He enjoys our evening talks and so do I!
We’ve just been packing and our cats know something is up. I always suspected weren’t happy when they guessed we’re going away, but now, thanks to Todd, I know they understand what packing indicates. It makes it harder still to leave them.
Wow, it looks like these new words with Todd’s already mastery of time words will help me a lot. He will never like Dad ‘s travel overnight, but now he can have context between that kind of travel and when Dad goes to work and comes home in the evening. Great work, Dad!
I love it when my cats put their tails like an arm around me, like Todd does on your leg just before the video ends! I shows that he is happy that you are home!❤
I'm sure he understands, but it's nice to get a confirmation from the buttons! I always tell my kitty how late I'll be getting back from work. 'Not late tonight', or 'A bit late tonight', or 'I'll be really late tonight'. He usually greets me at the door when I get home, but if I'm 'really late' (9:30pm) he takes a minute to get there - i assume he was sleeping :)
It's even more amazing that cats with fluent pet system actually seem happier and more loving because they can express themselves so there's no buildup frustration of a conscious animal being unable to communicate its worries.
@@meiru2453 It's got to be very frustrating for them when they're unable to communicate specifics, all the more considering that we are not always the superior animal-readers that they want and need us to be.
Hope Glamur gets better, and the look on Todd when realiseing you’d be back soon and not later was one of relif the poor lad hates when dads or anyone of fam is gone thats for sure
When Todd faces away from the camera and we can see the long, fluffy fur on his buns as he walks, it looks like he’s wearing “pantaloon pants” and it’s beyond adorable 🥰 My beloved late LH Tuxedo cat often looked like that after he was groomed/trimmed so it’s extra precious to me ❤
Todd is amazing, such a smart kitty. I think it is also impressive that Dad can respond with his foot while standing and not have to dash back in the room to find reading glasses.😂
He’s a gorgeous cat. I have a preference for tuxedo kitties. My first cat, given to me when I was 8 years old, was a long haired tuxedo kitten. We grew up together.
I see quite a few of these animals with talk buttons and i have to say that you clearly LOVE these cats it really comes thru. They are so loving toward you especially Todd and you clearly love them so much. So sweet to see
Welcome, I am glad you are here and enjoy the videos! I was watching a cat named Billi, who has since passed away, telling her mom she didn't feel good and needed help. Billi, like Todd, had some medical issues. I wanted Todd to be able to tell me when he didn't feel well. He can get very sick very fast, and by the time it shows he is really bad. Todd has told me when he hurts and has also told me there was an issue with Glamour's back.
@@TheChroniclesofToddToddTalks Thank you for the info! I truly appreciate you writing back!! Please tell Todd and Glamour we LOVE THEM!- I hope they know how special and beautiful they are!
Todd loves you so much. Standing almost on your foot and wrapping his tale around your leg. What a special cat. He must have been a human in his other life. Hehe Love to you both from me and my cat Sisten in Norway ❤❤
At one point when you said something about going to work and you were going, one of Todd's ears was back a bit like he knows but he doesn't have to like it! But when you said love you, Todd looked like he was smiling! I love how gently you spoke to Todd, your voice when you speak with him, it's so lovely & full of love! And Todd is gorgeous!
I love these videos because they show everyone that cats aren't just mindless animals who live in the moment. Cat parents already know this, but some people don't realise how complex their thoughts really are. These videos clearly show that cats remember things that happened in the past and still have feelings attached to those memories. Cats worry that something they don't like will happen again. They can plan what they'll do in the future. They have very definite feelings about the people and other animals around them. Sometimes, just like people, they can have bad days where they just feel grumpy. They have very specific wants and needs. They are most definitely capable of feeling love. ❤❤
It's amazing to me how much some people will not see it. They insist that the cats are just randomly hitting buttons or "learned to get a response from a human", yeah, that's what talking is. Toddlers try all sorts of weird words out in an attempt to be understood, and they settle on the words they're given. So, we can speculate as to which words cats understand, or how well, but they understand enough to get basic concepts communicated.
@@cacatr4495 Apparently certain genes for fur color are somehow linked to certain personality traits and intelligence. Black & white tuxedo cats are typically pretty intelligent and loving.
Not all cats will do it. There are three here and Todd is the only one who will talk. They make a test pack with a mat and a couple of buttons to see if it will work for you.
I'm always so amazed at how well Todd is able to express himself with his words. He's clearly incredibly intelligent but it's his big, giant heart that has made me fall in love with him. The way he will look up at his dad with that loving and longing stare melts my heart every time. He is definitely daddy's little boy. I really love watching the special bond dad and Todd share. 🥰 🐾❤
Your respect for him is beautiful. One thing I find very interesting: one of my children has developmental disorders that include symptoms of speech production & attentiveness to speech that were very marked until about his teens. When young I always had to speak to him a certain way or else I’d lose his comprehension. It was exactly how you speak to Todd! “Dad work now home evening “ is precisely how I had to speak to my child for many years when he was young. I’m just so struck by it. I read to him a lot, when tested he had a good vocabulary, but when directly interacting with him my speech had to be short, “telegraphic”. If I said to him, “We’re going to go shopping -go get in the car” he’d completely not respond (at an age when he should have registered compression), but if I said “Groceries car “ he’d get up and get in the car.
Oh I really loved this video! You had a full conversation with Todd and he was so happy to hear that you were not traveling. When I leave for work, I explain to my kitty that I am going to work and I tell her what time I will be back. Sometimes I have to tell her it will be a late night, but not to worry because I will be home. She does seem to understand. 💕💕We don’t use buttons yet.
I have been watching serval of your videos. I'm amazed to watch Todd as he is clearly thinking of what he wants to say. Even more so when you start to see that he understands concepts like latter vs now. My buddy "Jimmy" passed on a few years ago. We had 16 glorious years as friends. Jimmy was a vary smart cat. Oh how I wish we had buttons back then. God's amazing animals, I do Declare! Todd is just a joy to watch. To see his concern for the other cats is really something. Please keep the videos coming, they bring comfort on a bad day and smiles on a good day. May God bless you and walk with you and Todd. Amen.
🥹 My son & I love your videos about Todd. He’s so sweet & loving! We are working with Baby Kitten to teach her how to communicate with her “boy”. But so far we’re stuck on “Toy” & “pets”. We’re struggling with what to teach after that
Awesome video! So cool how you reassured Todd you weren't going on a long trip. Thanks for telling us he started purring (good indicator that he understood). Todd is such a sweet boy he was so happy to see you return from work. And just as I was thinking, "I hope Glamour comes up, too", there she was! Hope you get a great report from the vet for her soon!
I love all of your cats but Glamour reminds me so much of my cat Wendy. They both sound alike and I also call her sweet pea and she loves it. She gets very affectionate and purrs when I call her that.
You said "Dad home evening" then left and his tail stayed up. He understood and was happy! He's such a smart boy!
I noticed that as well! Cats and animals are amazing!
That tail had a curl in the top as well. Always a sign of kitty contentment. 😻
Todd hugged your leg with his tail. He's a sweet boy.
That's one way cats show love. So cute!
My guys do that too. I see he was stroking his leg with the tail. My guys do that as well.
