I am in awe at the level of trust that you have nurtured in your fur baby to allow you to brush his belly. The mutual love and adoration that you share with your gorgeous babies is so heartwarming to witness. ❤
@kayhenry6293 I think that Glamour loves Todd as a brother but she is definitely joining in more. I also believes Glamour knows the buttons but prefers Todd to press them for her. He just adores his Glamour 😻
Since watching your channel, I’ve been more vocal with particular words. My cat lights up with ‘brush?’, ‘dinner?’ And ‘outside?’. She spends less time outside, and stays close to me when she’s inside. I feel like we are communicating - in our way. 😊
I have as well. I've been working on the word "noise". My cats are all rescues, and loud noises scare a few of them, so I've been trying to get them to understand that a noise is just a noise, and not something that can hurt them.
I think Glamour surprised Todd with a little kiss at the beginning there! Maybe she does appreciate his love afterall? I just love the way Todd melts into a brushing! Dad must have a special touch!
She is tough and has to be because she only weighs a little over 7 pounds, and everything has to be on her terms, but when they are, she is a sweetie. She sits with me every night on the couch for pets.
I was wondering if New Year’s Eve at your home is filled with Fireworks and loud noises? And if so, do you prepare Todd and tell him it will be loud but it will be ok? I was remembering how he was upset and talking about the loud noises that hurt his ears for 2 weeks after the 4th of July. Poor guy.
Cats are very aware of their hind legs, and Todd has shown before that he gets annoyed when he makes a mistake, but there's no annoyance here. Conclusion: absolutely intentional!
So nice that Todd lets you know when he is ready for brushing! it was neat when he hit 2 buttons at once. such a sweet cat, especially since he tells you what he needs or wants!
that was amazing Todd!!!!! you will be able to either play twister with your buttons/words or try to take over the world lol.... Just love how he learns
You are a terrific role model for cat owners everywhere because you show such care and devotion to them and to trying to meet their needs on "their" terms. What I witnessed with that lovely Christmas Dinner for the 3 cats: Their proud and regal entry to sit at their table; the fact that they looked so well-groomed for this special meal and festive time and their obvious enjoyment over having such a wonderful meal. I love these videos and I love these cats. You bring such joy to a very sad, chaotic and world full of war and hatred. It is refreshing to be able to view something uplifting. Thank you.
Such a clever boy. Maybe he had instructions from Glamour to press the 'Brush' button & the "Yes" was in answer to her 😹. Either way, it was a lovely video to wake up to 😻
I love how chill Todd is right after he pressed 2 buttons at the same time. The way he proceeds to have treats immediately while Dad seems so surprised - so chill 😂 Todd has evolved into a multitasking master! 🥰
Hi Dad Todd and Glamour. Todd really knows the buttons. Two buttons at the same time. That can't be easy front and back at the same time. I agree Glamour is spending more time together. So sweet. She has to do it in her own way. Love you all.
LOL. Just occurred to me that it's Todd's post meal bath. That's why he wants brushing then. It's like dad giving him a bath (as in cat bath with tongue). Dad just uses the brush instead of tongue.
I'm impressed with the double button push, but for me the big news was Glamour's little cheek sniff when she came up past him. You should've heard my gasp of joy. xD We have cat strife in our house and I sympathize a lot with other cat political situations, and it makes me so happy to see positive interactions. Wish me luck with ours...we have a "new" two-year-old female who wants to take over the heirarchy from our 13-year-old queen, and is bullying the 6-year-old male who is thrice her size. People keep telling me to let them duke it out but I do not want them to really hurt each other and they are not playing, this is strictly politics and very serious. I wish they'd relax and be friends. Sigh.
Just wait, I had a mama and oldest daughter get into fight one night. I thought they were going to kill each other. I finally broke it up. Daughter was the #1 from then own out. Mama settled for #2 spot.
That sure seemed like an intentional back-paw-press to enhance his freont-paw "Brush." Todd did not seem concerned, embarrassed, surprised, or any sort of Oops-to-Yikes feels by that back paw press. I did see a second where he hesitated as if re-thinking his double button statement, after he went into his treats again, but he also trusts Dad to want to give him what he asks for with the Buttons. So he just scarfed as fast as he can [looked like salmon? not a kibble?] and reiterated Brush only to indicate he was ready. Thanks for sharing this [possible] first!
Ur doin breakthrough work I believe! Do you think Cats have been around humans for longer than dogs like myself, and they have adapted in their own, best ways?? Cats can be more independent but they stick around what keeps them alive, which from what I know as their first job in exchange for benefits was guarding the Egyptians food stockpiles from getting infested with vermin like disease-carrying rats. I’m probably wrong and will be told so, but it starts the conversation 🤭 about it, LOL
It’s always best to assume it was intentional and he is certainly capable of that, it’s a little unclear if you replayed the different angle or he did that twice. Doing it again would imply it’s intentional, either way it makes sense that he meant it since you often say the two words together “yes brush”. He is such smart cat, well above average
Mine was the same way, till I found her "gotta have it". I show her it, then tell her I have to brush her fur and trim her nails. Then she can have her " gotta have it".
I had a cat with extra long and thick fur who hated being brushed. I would have to brush her to keep mats from forming and she would get so mad. When I was done and let her go she would take off and find one of the other three cats we had at the time and swat them.
Might want to try a tangle teezer brush for wet human hair found that it’s softer than many specific catbrushes and thus more appreciated ( more space between the bristles as well) another one which is really appreciated has been zoom groom for cats which is a massage brush with soft rubber bristles that can release an astonishing amount of hair.
I wonder if the "yes" with the "brush" means something ... He eats his treats first. THEN he's ready for his brush. It would be spooky if now he uses "yes" with a button to indicate "in a minute" as opposed to "now" or "later" .... we'll find out, I guess. But I really suspect there's a reason for it and I can't wait to find out what that is !!!
I've seen a few. Billi from the channel Billispeaks had several, and there's some guy who designs new puzzles for his cats, and another channel with two Norwegian forest cats.
@@akinpaws The recent Norwegian cats one with the carrots was hilarious. One cat smart enough to pull the carrots out, but not able to get the treats out. The other not smart enough to pull the carrots but very dexterous in pawing out the treats. It was good to see smarty gertting separate treats in the end. 😀
@LindaVernon Yes. I don't remember the channel of the guy who designed a puzzle, but I think I remember that his cats also had different approaches to it & worked as a team too. It was a clear box with rods to move to let the treats fall through.
He has been doing backfoot press for about a year now, and they are always in context to what he is saying. This was the first time he pushed two at the same time.
The colors are more for me, but they are in groups. Here is a sample layout, and I have adjusted mine to how it would work best for Todd. d.img.vision/thechroniclesoftodd/Button_Layout.jpg
I don't believe this was an intentional press this time, especially the back and side view implies it. But then again his ears don't go back nor does he look annoyed it happened.
Yes. Todd presses his backfoot buttons by placing his paw next to the button and using his shin/knee to press. You can see him swing his right leg out to better brace himself to push. He started this because the buttons are convex and slick, and when he started doing it, his foot would sometimes slip off the button.
I was wondering if New Year’s Eve is filled with loud noises and fireworks at your home? And if so, do you talk to Todd about it in advance or tell him it will be loud but it will be ok? I was just remembering that he was upset and talked about how the loud noises hurt his ears for 2 weeks after 4th of July. Poor guy.
I'm fairly sure, yes. I have never given him an Oops button because when he presses a button by accident, he gets visibly upset and puts his ears back. Todd also uses yes and no as qualifiers like "Yes, Love You" and "No, Happy. " I could be wrong, of course, but I feel it was intentional.
The other cats do not use the buttons. I have offered and continue to offer them to Glamour and Paulie, but they are uninterested. Glamour has shown that she may know some of the buttons from watching Todd, as she has “accidentally” stepped or sat on buttons relevant to what is happening at the time. For example, I ask Glamour how she is doing, and she walks across the board and steps on “Happy.”
He's asking for a brush and also providing you with the correct answer 😅
I am in awe at the level of trust that you have nurtured in your fur baby to allow you to brush his belly. The mutual love and adoration that you share with your gorgeous babies is so heartwarming to witness. ❤
Todd is amazing! First a simultaneous button press, and then he clearly asked for Brush when he was done with his treats. 😊
Glamor is spending more time on the floor and interacting with Todd/Dad
I saw that too! So glad she is
I also noticed that! Do I foresee a friendship?
@kayhenry6293 I think that Glamour loves Todd as a brother but she is definitely joining in more. I also believes Glamour knows the buttons but prefers Todd to press them for her. He just adores his Glamour 😻
Some people can't walk and chew gum at the same time! Todd is upping his language game.
He'll be dancing all over his buttons like Tom Hanks in Big pretty soon.
Did Glamour give Todd a drive-by boop? 😮🥹
I saw that and think she did!

lol dad tends to respond to a button like Brush with a Yes, Brush. Is Todd trying to speed up the response? Giggles

Yes, he does. He will often stand until I brush it and then he lays down

I often think he just goes with it if he presses wrong, to save face.
