you need to set up a tablet in a tough frame that Todd can't move, and hook it up so Todd can SEE you on that bigger screen, while you talk to him from your end. you could ask him to use his words, to tell you how he's doing. look into the tech.

Can he see you? Is there a screen or just hear your voice?

We think Todd knows you can see him through the camera so he was trying to you affection with a head buff just like it was at your legs, so you could see him do this. We think Todd clearly knows it's not you speaking from inside the recordable voice buttons, and knows it's not you inside the camera, but you can see how he feels by his actions. Unfortunately once tipped over though, he couldn't successfully right it again, we think he was trying to. Been meaning to ask. Do you think it would be too much to convey successfully why people have to work to Todd? Along the lines of Dad work, food comes. Dad work, sick kitties, sick dad, sick Mum can go Vet. Dad work, new buttons, dad work new toys, dad work, lights on, dad work have basket/bed, dad work have toys. Dad work, have brush, have comb, have car etc etc. Dad no work, house no light. Dad no work, house cold. Dad no work, no carpet, Dad no work, no morning mousey, no evening mousey. Maybe show him a food cupboard that's full then later emptied a lot, enough for it to look much less to Todd. Then say soon, Dad Work, soon food comes. Dad can come home from work, Mum can pass him the bag she's secreted the items into, all out of sight of Todd and put in the car. Then we can have Dad greet Mum and say Dad work, food now, Dad work, light on now. And Dad can put the food he's hunted into the cupboard. Dad work, treat for kitties! And have one on you to pass out. Dad work, Miss Todd, Miss Mum,Miss Glamour, Miss Paulie. Dad work, Dad happy good work-hunter. We think if cats/dogs could understand people work for all things in their home world, there'd be less separation anxiety, possibly - or at least less confusion. People work hunt. People work hunt on computer, work hunt outside. This fantasy scenario requires Todd to comprehend all of this of course! But IS it just a fantasy? (Given who'd a thought the buttons) Mmm....Could you and colleagues arrange a 'take your child to work day' for Todd? After all they were so kind as to let you show that centre fit out one you did on what Dad does for a Living. Could Todd from a mesh window in a cat carrier bag be taken in at the start of a job, and so Todd actually gets to see what work you're doing or overseeing and its progression? Could Dad, when on a Laterx4, get Todd taken in to see you once daily for every 'Later' that you're away, for an hour, maybe? But Dad work - so the visit shouldn't be colleagues or you, cooing all over him at all, it's Work, he's just visiting to see what Dad Work is. Todd see Dad Work Home. Todd want see Dad Work Outside? Here's hoping you'll get a local job one day and your colleagues on board to help you try out this suggestion, what do you think? Dad can call a colleague's name. They can respond to Todd with their name eg Hello Todd, I'm Bob Dad. Then Bob can say 'Bob Dad work for Bob Mum, Bob kitty, kitty (or however many kitties 'Bob' has in the house). Same with any lady colleagues around doing their nameMum Work etc part too, but as yours looked like a pretty much male orientated job, adjust as applicable! Dad Work, the Meow-sical Production! Coming soon to a theatre near you! We'd love to see you come up with something like this to try out with dear Todd because he seemed to fully understand Dad's going to the Vet talk recently, so it clearly got the cogs in the head whirring that Todd More Clever than you might ordinarily suppose, so maybe not at all ridiculous, after all... I enjoyed this. Talked to my kitty while away on a trip - over my friend's phone when she was feeing her - she was really confused. I'm trying to teach her buttons and target training (but I'm not very consistent). I thought of the latter when Todd was pawing the camera.
