  • In this video I replace my shift boot and shift knob in my 1996 Honda Accord. The old boot and knob were worn from 22 years and 186,000 miles and needed a freshening up. I'll walk you through step by step how to do it yourself! If you enjoy the video, leave a like! Thanks for watching!!!

    Thanks for the help! Getting a new shift knob, and slight extension (I like longer throws) for my ‘99 CR-V manual, and was wondering how the boot came off the knob, and stayed for the rest!

    Wow your car has come a long way my guy!! Its day and night. I wouldn't believe it if you would of said your car started out like this.. the paint now is just 👌 👌 👌 I wish I knew how to paint..

      Thank you! Glad I started the channel back when it was still all original so I could document everything for sure. Painting isn't even hard it's just the up front cost and Def some practice. But it's not out of reach!
      Watch the gunman if you're really interested!

      @@ThatAccordGuy I've tried on a couple vehicles.. and the results weren't that great.. 15 dollar gun and rustoleum paint but it was practice i guess. Where can I find a front grille like that on yours? It isn't the mugen grille I know but I want that piece really bad for mine.. im just barely starting out from a completely fresh stock 95 accord ex automatic. Just got the manual swap done. My first time doing it and it came out great. Its on the road driving i mean and I fixed the axle issue I was having. Wobbles when I go full throttle or above 50 miles an hour. Cv joints were messed up from doner car. But I will hopefully have a rare gem like your one day.. and it is one day at a time.. lol

      Yeah man even spray painting is good for a gun control. just got to get a feeling for how the paint flows out with whatever you're using. and know what it looks like to have the paint going down properly. Then adjust the settings on the gun accordingly.
      Keep plugging along, and you'll get there. It's not about the end goal always, but it's about how far you've come. I love the beginning phase of a build though. It's the most rewarding!
      Front grill is a liberal replica. Got it on eBay. Fits decent but needs a little work for sure

      @@ThatAccordGuy hey bro.. im debating on doing a swap on my 95 accord obd1. I can't find anybody to tell or help me with what I all need for a h23a or f20b swap to work.. of I get a f20b obd2 engine I will have to wire the injectors right? What else wires would I have to cut from my harness and connect obd2 plugs for? The distributor? I'm stuck and just can't figure it out

    My first car rn is a 5 speed 98 accord. Love the thing to death because.. vtec but this is exactly what I’m looking for. The stock shifter is so ugly so this helps 👌. Also since there is a little bend I kinda want to straighten it out because it would look and feel better but that would be tons of work. Great job tho 👍

    • @ThatAccordGuy
      @ThatAccordGuy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice dude! These cars are so fun haha even without VTEC 😏
      Yeah you'd have to disassemble the linkage and heat it to bend it probably so you didn't break anything. Would definitely be some work.
      Thanks for watching bro!

    You actually dont need to take out those side screws. There is a clip under the cup holder though.
