- How to install/retrofit an OEM FDR Type R shift knob + shift knob collar in the S2000! Not 100% plug and play but 100% worth the effort if you're fit and finish is important to your build, super super happy with how this turned out only wish I'd done it sooner 🤙🏼

Cool that you showed how to do this and all but let’s not forget to credit the guy who came up with it first / made it popular. O_o s2000.
I shaved all the way to the collar, used calipers and notched two sides flat at 14mm.
It is like the FK2 knob, very comfortable.
That shift knob looks good man, I like it.

I have the titanium shifter shaped something like your factory one. That looks good, kinda like the CR. I had to laugh at you talking about how good it feels in the palm of your hand. Lol "NICE"

Those look great but I had the titanium S2000 optional shift knob for two weeks before switching back to stock. Those things ROAST your palm if you park out in the sun at all lol , but great video either way and glad you're happy since that's all that matters in the end!
thanks for the kind words! check out the most recent video, I ended up switching to a delrin extended knob and I actually prefer the aluminum but on hot days it'll cook you hahah
Looks interesting. I wanna get a new knob and boot. Not really happy with some aftermarket one that came on the car, its a sphere like yours. You gotta grip it like a baseball. Im more of a pistol grip like that oem one you took off
I hear ya, I really liked the change of pace from OEM to the FD2, it's a unique feeling and I'm a fan of lighter knobs because you can actually feel what the transmission is doing, not sure if there is a better or worse but I do know change is good

Looks like that shifter setup would lengthen your throws
you're correct! it's a little taller - a few mm - so the throws are technically longer but the shifter also sits closer to wheel! either way, I don't personally think the S needs shorter throws, it's already got like the shortest gearbox throws in the game 🏀
Hey I was thinking of going for this setup too, but I was wondering how many cm you left from the end of the black piece to the bottom of the collar so I don't end up shaving too much off when it gets here lol

Depending on what you're looking for you don't need to zip tie it! If you want the 110% fit and finish a zip tie can't hurt.
