How to change the shift knob and boot on a 90-91-92-93 honda accord

I'd like to find one of those Honda CD players. The ones for later generation Accords that still have the 8-pin DIN plug are too big to fit into the dash using the mounting bracket designed for the 1993 car. There is probably a different mounting bracket that will fit, but I haven't seen or found one.
