    Awesome. This video sorted out all my little issues. My weekly commute was in a 146 so I have always wanted to see what the pilots were up against. The aircraft noises of the Flaps and Airbrakes being deployed are spot on As a novice , its a handful but im sure in time we will all master it. Thanks again.

    Very nice video. The only issue I noted was that you mention to turn the APU air off for starting. The starter on the BAE146 is electrical to my knowledge. Refering to the checklist, the fuel flow should be opened at 10% N2, not at 20% N1 (btw you start fuel flow at 2,0% N1).

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks a lot! I have to watch again if I said that it's not correct APU air stays on and packs needs to come off for engine start. Engines do use pressurized air to spool up. Haven't tried without bleed air to see if they can start. Have you tried that ?

    • @Ferdinand321
      @Ferdinand321 ปีที่แล้ว

      Partially true and partially not. There is a video online where a real 146 starts the engines with the fuel flow on before start. The manufacturer comes with SOP's but an airliner also has it's own SOP's which can slightly differ due to a variety of reasons.

    I'm a novice but does turning on the yaw damper before departure limit rudder control during the takeoff roll? On some jet aircraft the yaw damper is activated just after takeoff. This is one superb jumbo-ette ...

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm not sure why 146 POH instructs to turn the yaw damper on on the ground. Your concern is valid but I'm guessing in the real aircraft the yaw damper doesn't actually function until you're airborne. not sure if it's modeled by Just flight

  • @MarekHron
    @MarekHron 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    A very nice video, thanks. Only a few remarks. JustFlight says that the standard operating procedure is to feed the packs via APU during take-off and approach/landing. Also the engine anti-ice switches should be on prior engines start. I also found that using IAS mode during climb is much more convenient and I use MCT mode. Anyway, this is a wonderful aircraft and JustFlight brought us a gem.

    • @MarekHron
      @MarekHron 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@roberts9095 you need to sync the autopilot to a required IAS. There are two ways: 1) disable AP (afterburner toggle hotkey), push on the yoke to lower pitch (decrease V/S), activate IAS, wait till the plane accelerates to the required speed, enable AP (afterburner hotkey). 2) disable AP, lower V/S with the yoke, enable V/S mode, enable AP, wait for the desired speed and switch to IAS mode

      @@TheSimPilot right, but is there a way to adjust selected speed in IAS mode? Say I engage IAS mode at 280 knots and want to set the autopilot to climb at 250 knots, is there no way to manually set 250 knots as your desired climb speed? Most every autopilot I've seen has a way to select the speed you want and the plane will adjust pitch as necessary to maintain that speed

    The one thing I’m searching for is Route Direct. When I select new waypoint it doesn’t pick up new heading right away it seems to fly until it picks up a radial to the way point as if it’s a VOR. Is this normal? Or is there a way to get it to go directly to the waypoint like the 737? I love the plane otherwise

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe this is what is happening when you do a DIR to a waypoint it is armed if you're more than a certain degree of turn and it will only pickup the new path when you are within the limits of that degree. I am not %100 sure though but that's how it is when you do radio nav. I have to test it myself.
