    Really appreciate you continuing to pump out BAe 146 content in the middle of the 737-700 hype, this is so informative.

    Just wanted to say I recently bought the 146 and was able to fly it, but these sets of videos have really helped me learn how to fly via nav radios. I never thought I would enjoy flying without an FMC but the quality of this aircraft and your videos have convinced me otherwise.

    Just subscribed to your channel. Thank you for your very helpful tutorials. Much appreciated. As folks have commented below, very nice to see you pumping out more videos for the BAe 146. I just love this legacy aircraft and its history. It’s an excellent product and the developers have done a good job. Some small idiosyncrasies with the flight computer etc, but I hope it gets continually updated. It’s a complicated aircraft to fly in the Simulator, but a joy when it all clicks into place. Very immersive. There is so much hype just now with the Fenix and PMDG, and don’t get me wrong they are excellent products, but change is as good as rest, as they say, so I enjoy the 146. I must admit I struggled with the 146 at first, it takes a bit of learning, so I hope you can continue your tutorials from time to time on this aircraft, many thanks !.

    Hey thanks for your multiple bae videos. I've mostly only flown GA but the 146 is so aesthetically pleasing to me that I feel like I must learn the whole thing. Your videos have been great and helping me do so. Cheers.

    This has become my new fav plane JB, trying to master it like I did to the 737-800 finally. Such a cool, unique "mini jumbo" with nice blend of analog and digital. Thanks for your great vids as usual for the few annoying questions I have no one addressed!

    Your tutorials are very helpful and very well done. Myself with less experience in each minute of your explanations may learn so much about the airplanes and about MSFS in general. Thanks a lot for your work.

    Excellent video tutorial. I have just downloaded the 146 in memory of my father-in-law who worked on its production. I am still trying to setup my Honeycomb Throttle Quadrant as currently it only recognises engines 1 and 2!

      @@jonbeckett My kind of bird 🐦 Good mix of old and newish technology in BAE146. Haven’t got the “right speeds” in my head yet, it will come by flying and practicing more. I approach either too slow or fast, one good landing so far…plus a few crashes in the terrain :)

    Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot. I just picked up the BAE as my first airliner, I had done ILS in GA aircraft but struggled on my first two tries with the BAE and ended up having to land manually. Turns out, I was not setting the course correctly and also was not intercepting the GS from below. Great video!

    Hello, quick one, i was with the AP, descending with VS enabled. I've set up the VHF NAV with the ILS for the 28L RW at Dublin, and NAV 1 CRS on 278º, but when i pressed the V/L nothing happened it just simple won't work. Any idea what might had happened?

    • @jonbeckett
      @jonbeckett  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you were within range of the VOR, and could see it on the NAV1 instrument, VOR LOC mode should have worked. I've noticed you need to already be on an intercept course - this is true of many aircraft of the era. It's worth noting - you will only capture the glideslope if you enter from below the beam (i.e. fly level into it), and it takes a few seconds to happen. In the 146 the copilot will generally announce it too.

    Do you need to disable RNAV during approach in order to use the V/L and GSL?

    Can't find that information in the little navmap.

    • @jonbeckett
      @jonbeckett  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You won't find it in LittleNavMap. It's basic trigonometry. 3 degrees over 8 miles comes out at about 2500 ft.

      It'll be listed on approach charts too, sometimes you can find them on Google if you Google the airport code and approach chart you should find them.
      Some airports have a steeper glideslope like London City, think there's is 3.5°.
      Navigraph has them too and some neat ways to integrate planning into the sim

      @@spuriouspodge7416 Just did a quick Google search and copied this:
      "Today, the glide slope for flights into London City is 5.5 degrees. This is quite high, considering that a normal approach elsewhere is 3 degrees. But when the airport opened, the glide slope was 7.5 degrees!"
      London City is a GREAT airport to practice steep approaches in the BAe146 :)

    don't know why when I successfully capture the ils a few seconds after capturing it it disconnects and doesn't follow the glide path ..... I'm not a newbie but I don't know why the plane does that
