You got yourselves a brand new subscriber!!! Love sailing channels and just found yours. I'm a 70 years young grandma from the beautiful sunny island of Puerto Rico in the Caribbean. Safe sailings.
Love Salty Sunrise!! I’ve been a subscriber since near the beginning of your channel. Took a lot of ideas for my first “overland” vehicle set up from Goose. So happy to see you guys fulfilling your dream. I’ve honestly never seen you both happier. Incredibly honored that you share your life journey on this format! Fair winds sailors!!
There is also an odd form of Zen I get from watching you guys go through all the preventative maintenance Tim does. It's very calming in a weird way, maybe even a little therapeutic to watch.@@SaltySunriseSailing
you just need one of the scraping spatulas its like a hamburger gridle. you can do eggs too, oil it, scrape it when there are pieces that stick. so you can keep cooking whatever your cooking.
I'm new to the channel. I'm not a van lifer, but a hopeful boat buyer. Love channels showing new to boat life videos. Guessing since y'all are seasoned you tubers your videos are awesome and what newbies would go through! Great video can't wait for the next one!
I just had my 62nd Birthday. Was forced to retire at 47 due to some service connected injuries sustained in the Navy. We live in SW Florida and I finally convinces my Wife to get a live aboard boat ourselves. Enjoyed your walkthrough and look forward to more of your videos. Congratulations!!!
Don’t normally subscribe to catamaran sailboat channels but you guys are so likable and have good voices 😉love listening to you talk to each other. So I subscribed 🤪
Just found your channel (I watch many different sailing channel’s) but I had to comment when you said that you were expecting an “adult” to show up and tell you that you CAN’T do that. I laughed because I know that specific feeling. Except in some of my “ventures” I was told I “couldn’t do that”, which I would always reply, “watch me”. I’ve achieved many of my goals under those circumstances. So what I’m saying is, never listen to the “adults” or at least anyone over 54 (my age). Congratulations guys! I’m a subscriber!
Nothing so cool as jumping in the tender and taking a cruise around the harbor at sunset..... with a rum and OJ. 😊 This is fun guys. Looking forward to it all.❤❤
It's probably too late now, but for removing vinyl stickers, pinstriping and such, a rubber eraser wheel chucked into a drill works a charm. A 4" wheel is ~$12 on Amazon. Beats scraping with a razor blade or putty knife and risking damaging the gelcoat.
Kelsey and Tim: I joined your membership tody and introduced myself in your comments section on the introductory video. I enjoy the dynamics of your relationship and the commitment you are making to this new adventure. I also like the commitment to the care and keeping of your impressive Seawind 1260. For your info. a sailor is measured by how he keeps his boat and organizes the gear on his deck at the slip and at sea, ie " never leave your fenders hanging, Ha" . In any case, I look forward to following you as your journey continues. JK
For your first bottle of champagne on the boat you could split the cork part way down and put a coin in it for luck. I wish you both all the very best for your future and smooth sailing wherever you roam. Have some great adventures guys. All the best from Scotland. Rab
For future reference, a heat gun or high output blow dryer and heat that first and then it pulls off quickly and then clean with alcohol or another non-abrasive cleaner...apply new boat name
Totally enjoyed this episode. Wise and good to see you taking the time to actually know and re-work the equipment. 👏🏻🙌🏻 I would stick to mm chain. It's what the windows was calibrated to........just a suggestion as it is available everywhere. 😊See you next time. ✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝️ 👙 🌞 ✨
"Goose!" Good to have Goose back! I did not see that name return coming. So great seeing you both so enthusiastic about all the projects and learning new things. Such are life's best adventures.
Hi guys it's just lately I've discovered ur channel and I first started watching them the time U've both ur Seawind, I recalled Ruby Rose coz I followed them for years specially Jason and Nikki in their lovely Curiosity 2, before that I watched, La vega bonde, Zatara, Sailing Freedom with plukky, and Lauren launders, Cristina's Travels and many more, others were couples who really build a wreck boat and some repaired a massive one, but when I recall Ruby Rose I felt same fascinated with yours coz it was endorsed by most well known bloggers and consider it as a blue boat, well I hope that you will succeed like other who really has that determination to travel around the world and see those remote places that people never had a chance to explore and visit them,..
I absolutely love your videos and am watching from Holland, MI. Thank you. I am 70+ now and when I was younger, I had and still have the adventure mindset you two have. My husband and I went to Oman to work with Peace Corps for 2 years. Then after a couple years back home and in the American grind, we decided to go back overseas again, this time it was mission work in India working for Habitat for Humanity, and did that for 5 years. When I was single, I left home on my 18th birthday, went into the army, and traveled all over the US. SO I identify what drives you two to see the world and one of the reasons I can re-live that all over again through your eyes. Thank you! Be safe, and may God go with you wherever that is. You will never be sorry.
'Goose'! It's become an important name in our family now, too, as our daughter recently named her cherished French Bulldog puppy 'Goose'. Great days ahead for both, obviously. Look forward to watching Goose set sail. Bon Voyage!
Regarding anchor chain, Switch which end of the chain is linked to the anchor. The same trick can be used for the standing rigging: Change which end of a stay which are close to the sea surface. That way, the stay would get an equally amount of corrosion, before you need to replace it.
It’s so unusual seeing you two on the water instead of on terra firma. Where will you dock in Arizona? The airport in Phoenix is called a sky harbor, right? (I’m guessing your OC roots will come in handy here.)
Hi Goosers ! I think your energy is fun and inspiring. Love your new yacht. I bet you fingers are worn out a bit from all the cleaning and motor stuff. I’m a new subscriber and looking forward to seeing your adventures going forward!
Maybe you already thought of this, but why don't you just order parts from Australia or Europe? It doesn't take that long at all to get parts, if it isn't an emergency. Can't wait for you guys to experience the open ocean, and maybe even take your "home" for a trip to S. America, Asia, or ?, the world's your oyster have fun.
I'm loving your story and have watched several of your other adventures. How were you able to afford those other adventures? Hopefully I'll be able to afford to build my catamaran that I'm planning on building.
Hey Robert, We will do a video on it. The short answer is that we stop and work and then adventure again combined with keeping our costs low. We rented out our house and committed to camping in our truck when working or adventuring for fun. Then most of what we make working goes directly to adventures and video making equipment.
@@SaltySunriseSailing That's how I was able to afford my land and then I built a debt free home on it with my own hands and no hired labor except for on concrete days where you need a few people to help you. I pretty much always eat at home and pack my lunch to save on food and eat more healthier doing it besides saving money in the process. All of that helps to afford the big ticket items. I also stack precious metals which has really helped boost my net worth over time and has exceeded inflation. That's how I'm going to be able to afford my boat.
You guys make a great team. Well done. Coming from Tucson, you must be dying in that humidity. You're living on the water now, so will have to get used to it ... and the bugs.
I was wondering if you plan to leave the area to get out of the hurricanes. Your boat is very beautiful, and I look forward seeing your endeavors! I'm a new viewer to your channel. Iv been following Zatara for 6 years and a few other sailing channels that I enjoy. Best of wishes and see you again out there on the water! From southern Indiana USA 💗
New to the channel but enjoying your voyage in to a sailing life, just curious if your planning to sail south before the hurricane season starts in Florida in July?
So happy to see your dream come true! Love watching your progress. My wife and I are two years out from doing the same thing. I see you have a nice Tohatsu outboard on your dinghy now. What hp did you go with? Looking forward to your next video.
5/22/24 - Good Morning guys. Beautiful boat! So happy for you guys. The harbor looks a lot our harbor here in Chas.,SC . If y'all ever decide to run the ICW make Charleston,SC a must stop!
With the dinghy. You may want to check with Seawind if you can get the dinghy concave pads (not exactly sure what they call them) that are fitted in most other 1260s. They help to secure the dinghy more firmly to the stern of the boat. Especially in rough seas, stops the dinghy moving about. Keep the videos coming
hi Guys beautifull boat. congrats. fun fact. i went to the site of Seawind and it seems they are using a picture of your boat. Looking forward to the next episode.
Well congratulations to you both, have followed your journey since around 2019 if I’m not mistaken I saw y’all at the flagstaff expo. So sailing it is, can’t really change to “WaterSunrise” lol. Be safe and enjoy, looking forward to the journey. Russ
Love seeing all the progress! My husband noticed a new outboard on the dinghy in some clips, probably nice for more HP & better reliability. Any plans on where you'll be off to first?
Your smiles are infectious😂😂❤❤❤

Loving watching you guys!
Cheers Goose! this is gonna be fun!
The toast choked me up guys..well done. Hoping to do this in the next 5 years or so.
Thank you! If we can do it so can you (It lives up to all our hopes btw). You'll love it!

Arizona meets Ft. Lauderdale ❤ Awesome attitude to jump right in. 🎉
You guys are awesome. I take my hat off to both of you. I wish you all the best and all the happiness you deserve ❤
New subscriber. Good luck with your new adventure!

This is freaking 👌
Ok...gotta go there....will we be naming the dinghy Gosling?.....Especially when you guys are pulling the dinghy behind the boat....just a thought.
while the boat was out of the water you needed to change the oil of the sea drives, but it's too late now so make sure you do it next time.....
It had actually just been done so we are all good until the next time we haul out.
New sub here. Love you zeal for this terrific adventure you have started. Cheers from Texas!

Good job Goose! When are you coming to The Bahamas? Be sure to get on NOFORIGNLAND.

You guys a lovin & livin the life…Ya’ll are in my neck of the water…I live in Boynton Beach…There are amazing areas to explore around here 👍🏻🌊🌞🤩
Super happy for you guys. Will look forward to following your Salty adventures!

We actually did that on the other side (worked well) but this side ended up coming off easier with the plastic razor blade (Less mess with the sun)
Very nice. Happy for you too kiddos. Go enjoy.🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
GOOSE!!! Glad to see the name back after watching you travel down south in the original Goose......hope this version leads to even better times!
Cool channel. ... can't wait fie the story around the dinghy motor.

Invest in a kill-cord for your outboard motor.

We laughed when we saw your new Tohatsu outboard and your previous Merc too. Felt like we needed a spoiler alert. Enjoy!

Keep on chugging and get the safety at 99% . Try vinaber 50/50 wtrh water in aspray bottle to clean mold and calcium.
Goose! Tucson AZ! LOL.
Those washes out of town to Puerto Penasco were tight!! 🤣
