    Dealing with seasickness as first timers is something most people don't think will happen until it does. You guys are champs and this was great to watch.
    Thanks for producing and filming it for everyone.

      Well, I have always struggled with motion sickness so this was no surprise for me, luckily it has gotten much better and I haven't been sick since this first sail. I know I will always struggle with it but have already figured out things that help me combat it. Cheers, thanks for watching!

    So important to share the not-so-good experiences for all to see and learn from. As a former sailor in the USNavy, I too have experienced my share of sea sickness. Dramamine helps, but would always make me very tired. Always got sick the first day out, then all was good. Anyhow, I can sympathize with you Kelsey. I love the upbeat persona both of you carry, and look forward to your channel for that reason as well as experiencing your adventures as new boat owners. Your learning curves appear to be very short and your accomplisments in this short time are impressive. Thanks for sharing, see you next video. Please be safe, and be well.

    To get rid of seasickness. Drive the boat. If you cant drive the boat, lay inline on the keel down low. It goes away after a few days.

Will keep following/watching your videos, quite interesting for us, cause we are "fresh" SW1260 owners too, bought our boat half a year ago. I'd suggest you get your AIS soonest possible, it's really handy, I can't imagine us going anywhere without it or functioning radar.

    I've only had mild sea-sickness once, I tend to get land-sickness after sailing or surfing. The one time I got seasick I used those pressure point bands & seemed to do the trick, I've also heard good things about the behind the ear patches. Maybe keep a variety of remedies aboard & see what works for u. Good job on ur first solo sail!

      @SaltySunriseSailing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    The adventure begins. I'm sure that you will love it! You need a red light for night watch and filming at night. You also need a back up auto pilot in case yours breaks which does happen. It happened to Sailing Sweet Ruca 1/4 of the way across the Pacific. Question, you almost passed on purchasing this boat. The only thing that I saw was a little dirt from it not being used. It sounds like you didn't see beyond the dirt or did you. Were there other issues that you didn't talk about?

    You guys are fun to watch. I watch sailing couple channels, this has always been my dream to sail around the world. Alas luck and opportunity has not lent itself to fulfillment of this dream.
    Since I watch a lot of these videos, I thought I would share a couple of things I learned by watching others.
    If you are concerned about your water tanks and water lines not being the cleanest, think about polishing your water tanks. Polishing is a term often attributed to polishing your fuel and fuel tanks, by running your fuel through extreme filters. You can build your own water system polishers via parts easily purchased at a marine store. Nick and Terysa from Sailing Ruby Rose, had to do this and published their video about it a couple of weeks ago.
    The second thing is something I noticed; you have Goose’s name on your dingy. I have watched more than one channel that warns against this. The reason being that people with ill intent can see that you are not on your boat when they see your dingy at the dingy dock. Name your dingy sure, especially if you are people that like naming things, but just try to make it not easily match your catamaran.
    If I ever get lucky enough to live the dream, I plan on installing a fuel polishing and water polishing system on the boat so I perform the process whenever needed. I will also name my dingy something that does not match my catamaran.
    With that yellow cover have you thought about naming the dingy Duck? Duck, Duck, Goose is a cultural thing specific to the west and does not obviously match your catamaran without a reasonable cognitive leap.
